Ross L. Priebe
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, from Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes for Ross L. Priebe.
Mr. Priebe, 39, died Monday, March 20, from injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident that occurred near Sheridan, Wyo.
The Rev. Mark Olson and Rev. Roger Olson will officiate at the service.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Chad Leitheiser, Randy Williams, Ryan Williams, Kari Envik, Bryan Envik, Caty Priebe, Jenny Garrison and Jacob Greg.
The David - Donehower Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Ross L. Priebe was born in Minneapolis on Nov. 8, 1960, moved with his family to Willmar in 1969, to St. Cloud in 1973 and to Moorhead in 1976.
He graduated from Moorhead High School (Class of 1978), played with the Skits band which travelled throughout the region and later was employed by Cenex in Fargo and by the Coca - Cola Bottling Co. in Moorhead.
Mr. Priebe became disabled due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident in 1988, moved to Detroit Lakes in 1993 and to rural Lake Park in 1998.
He was a member of the Midnight Riders Snowmobile Club of Lake Park.
Surviving are his special friend - Susan Leitheiser, Lake Park; his mother and adoptive father - Audrey and Dennis Priebe, Fargo; his father - David Kucera, Willmar; three sisters - Vicki Williams and Wendy (Vern) Envik, both Moorhead, and Michelle Priebe, Mankato; a brother - Gregory (Lynn) Priebe, San Diego, Calif.; his grandmother - Blanche Wells, Pelican Rapids, and his grandfather - Joseph Kucera, Minneapolis.
Visitation: Monday, March 27, 3 - 7 p.m., David - Donehower Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7, and also one hour prior to funeral at Grace Lutheran Church.

Bruno C. Hoebelheinrich
Bruno C. Hoebelheinrich, 86, died at St. Mary’s Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes on Tuesday, March 21.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Park.
Fr. Bernard Friedl officiated at the funeral, Debbie Binde was the organist and the vocalist was Jamie Mattson.
Interment was at the Lake Park Catholic Cemetery, with the Vigen - Wright Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Troy LeFevre, Jerry Hoebelheinrich, Jeremy Mattson, Jay Nelson, Jeffrey Nelson, Robert Nelson, Jesse Mattson and Christi Detlofsen.
Mr. Hoebelheinrich’s grandchildren were the honorary pallbearers.
Bruno C. Hoebelheinrich, son of Albert and Mary Luft Hoebelheinrich, was born at St. Helena, Nebr., on Jan. 16, 1914, and grew up and attended school in the area around Menominee, Nebr.
Mr. Hoebelheinrich and Venetta Morin were married in Currie on March 26, 1940.
He farmed for 42 years in Minnesota and South Dakota and also was employed as a custodian at Moorhead State University until retiring in 1980.
A member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife - Venetta, Lake Park; four sons - Clayton (Evelyn), Sumner, Wash.; Raymond (Paulette), Fergus Falls; Gary (Jennifer), St. Cloud, and Dwaine (Joyce), Jamestown,. N. D., and three daughters - Wanda (Clayton) Nelson, Detroit Lakes; Lois (James) Glass, Carmichael, Calif., and Julie (Bob) Mattson, Lake Park. There are 24 grandchildrden and 14 great - grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Hoebelheinrich in death were his parents, his step - mother (Ethel), a sister, two brothers and a daughter - in - law (Connie).

Essie Caroline Herman
Essie Caroline Herman, 97, died at Emmanuel Nursing Home on Saturday, March 18.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 24, from First Presbyterian Church in Towner, N. D.
Rev. Don Andrews officiated at the funeral, Sue Crawford was the organist, Tammy Haman, accompanied by Joan Jorgenson, was the soloist and there was a vocal duet by Elaine Hendrickson and Ruth Chole.
Interment was at Union Cemetery in Bantry, N. D., with the Anderson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Clemans J. Hager Jr., Larry Armer, Brock Haman, Nick Haman, Tobias McCabe and Clemans J. Hager III.
Grandchildren, great - grandchildren and great - great - grandchildren were honorary pallbearers.
Essie Caroline Harman, daughter of Charles and Sarah Fuller Harman, was born in McHenry County, N. D., on Sept. 27, 1902.
She was raised and attended rural school near Upham, the school was merged and became the Layton Consolidated School and she completed her education at Upham High School.
On Oct. 5, 1921, Essie Harman and Charlie Beryl Herman were married at Towner.
They farmed for five years and then moved into Towner, where Mr. Herman was superintendent of the Towner Water Department. Mrs. Herman cared for children of many Towner families from 1956 - 77.
Mr. Herman died April 14, 1965, and she lived in her own home until 1977 before living with daughters (Bessie) for 19 years and (Doris) for three years.
A member of First Presbyterian Church of Towner, she also belonged to the Towner Senior Citizens and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son - Charlie Jr. (Lucille), Bismarck,N. D., and three daughters - Bessie Hager, Towner, N D.; Dorothy (Aldon) Lazier, Riverside, Calif., and Doris Kegel, Detroit Lakes. There are 14 grandchildren, 30 great - grandchildren and 12 great - great - grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a daughter (who died in infancy), a granddaughter, three great - grandchildren, a sister, a brother and her parents.

Elsie Jaaska
Elsie Jaaska, 77, died at the New York Mills Elder’s Home on Friday, March 24.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 27, from Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills.
Rev. Elmer Linen officiated at the funeral, Gary Bach was the soloist and the accompanist was Tim Johnson.
Interment was at Woodland Cemetery in New York Mills, with the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as the pallbearers were Wilho Jaaska, Clayton Tervola, Leroy Jacobson, Ernest Rantala, Marvin Perna and Waldo Leistico.
Elsie Bodas, daughter of Alfred and Martha Hyrnkangas Bodas, was born May 21, 1922, in Otto Township (rural New York Mills) and married Walter Kauppi in Deer Creek on June 22, 1940.
They farmed in Leaf Lake Township until Mr. Kauppi died on Dec. 7, 1969.
On Dec. 3, 1971, she married Carlo Jaaska in Aberdeen, S. D., and they farmed on the Jaaska Family Farm in Leaf Lake Township. Mr. Jaaska died Sept. 18, 1994. Mrs. Jaaska had been at the Elder’s Home since November, 1993.
Surviving are three daughters - JoAnn Hoyt, Wadena; Jeanne (Bill) Steinbach, New York Mills, and Karen (Lanny) Marsh, Detroit Lakes, and a son - John Kauppi, Wadena. There are seven grandchildren and six great - grandchildren.

Ethel Hanson
Ethel Hanson, 82, a former Detroit Lakes resident, died Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, Calif.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, from the Pittsburg, Calif., Funeral Chapel. Interment was at Memory Gardens in Concord, Calif.
Ethel Skinner, daughter of Jake and Esther Skinner, was born in Chapple, Quebec, Canada, on Nov. 6, 1917, and grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School (Class of 1936).
She and Alf Hanson were married at Detroit Lakes and moved to California in 1943. The Skinners were longtime residents of Pittsburg.
Surviving are three daughters - Betty Gutridge, Pittsburg, Calif.; Sylvia Hanson, Jamestown, Calif., and Esther Clark, Saukville, Wis.; three sons - Jerry Hanson, Oakley, Calif.; Robert Hanson, Pittsburg, Calif., and Leroy Hanson, Temple Terrace, Fla.; two sisters - Marie Kolher, Herlong, Calif., and Martha Remmen, Audubon, and four brothers - Enos Hanson, Antioch, Calif.; Russell Skinner and Helmer Hanson Jr., both Detroit Lakes, and Phillip Hanson, Salt Lake City, Utah. There are 10 grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Hanson in death were her husband (who died in 1991) and a son (Donnie Hanson, who died in 1955).

Grace M. Egan
Rites will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, from Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes for Grace M. Egan.
Mrs. Egan, 77, died Saturday, March 25, at St. Mary’s Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes.
Fr. Jerry Rogers will officiate at the funeral.
Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery, with the David - Donehower Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Grace M. Heinen, daughter of Henry and Lena Miller Heinen, was born July 7, 1922, in Ogema, where she was raised and attended school.
On July 7, 1948, she and Harry Egan were married in Detroit Lakes and lived at Detroit Lakes following their marriage.
Mrs. Egan served as the bookkeeper for the Detroit Lakes Nutrition Center at Silver Birch Apartments for the past several years.
She entered the Frazee Care Center in January of this year.
Surviving is a daughter - Debbie (Wayne) Pederson, Fergus Falls. There are two grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Egan in death were her husband (who died in 1981), her parents, a brother (Victor) and a sister (Dorothy).
Visitation: Wednesday, March 29, 4 - 8 p.m., David - Donehower Funeral Home, with rosary by Christian Mothers at 6:45 and parish prayers at 7. Also one hour prior to funeral on Thursday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Irene Florence Dormanen
Irene Florence Dormanen, 56, a former Menahga resident, died Thursday, March 23, in Mammoth, Ariz.
There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 7, at the Cardini - Behrens Funeral Chapel in Menahga, with Rev. Art Skoog officiating.
Interment will be at the Red Eye Cemetery in Red Eye Township of Wadena County, with the Cardini - Behrens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Irene Matson, daughter of Edward and Florence Kettunen Matson, was born in Wadena County on May 22, 1943.
She attended the District 42 North School and Menahga High School and was married to Robert Donald Dormanen on May 26, 1962, in East Grand Forks.
They farmed until Mr. Dormanen’s death in April, 1977, and she moved to Arizona later that year, although she had returned to Minnesota on numerous occasions to visit friends and relatives. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, gardening and traveling.
Surviving are a daughter - Deborah (Frank) Stephenson, Mammoth, Ariz.; five brothers - Alben Matson, Leslie (Verna) Mattson and Raymond Mattson, all of Menahga; Clarence (Mercedes) Matson, Elk River, and Lester (Helen) Mattson, Blaine, and three sisters - Bernice Matson and Carol (Alvin) Haataja, both of Wadena, and Bevelry (Everett) Jensen, Menahga. There are five grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dormanen also was preceded in death by a daughter (Donna Kinnunen), her parents, two brothers (Clyde Matson and Marvin Matson) and two sisters (Virginia Haataja and Lillian Matson).
