Albert W. Krueger
Albert Walter Krueger, 91, of Coppell, Texas, formerly of Comrey, died on Friday, March 14, 2003, at Lewisville Medical Center in Lewisville, Texas.
A service was held at 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey, with Pastor Eugene Anderson officiating.
Burial was at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Comfrey.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey.
Albert was born April 8, 1911, in Adrian Township, Watonwan County to Alfred and Amelia (Dombrouski) Krueger. He attended country school until the eighth grade, when he had to quit school to work on the farm. Nevertheless, Albert retained a love for learning throughout his long life, especially for history and geography.
On December 20, 1939, he married Evelyn Rauschke of Springfield, and to this union was born one daughter - Linda.
Besides being a farmer, Albert was also a carpenter and a feed store owner in Comfrey for many years.
In 1964, he moved to Minneapolis, where he worked various jobs until his retirement, after which Albert moved to Dallas, Texas to be near his daughter and grandchildren.
Albert retained good health and a clear mind until the final two weeks of his life.
Albert is survived by his daughter, Linda and husband Colin Kantor of Coppell, TX; three grandchildren, Christopher and wife Diana Kantor of Arlington, TX, Laura and her husband Robert Bryant of Bryan, TX, and Joshua Kantor of Arlington, TX; great grandson, Christopher Kantor; cousins, Eleanor Pidde, Frieda Feeken, and Audrey Kamolz all of Comfrey.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn in 1984; an infant brother; and sisters, Mildred Blackstad and Evelyn Lunz.
Casketbearers were Russ Herrig, Dick Pidde, Delwin Junker, Dale Elsing, Ron Feeken, and Donovan Mickelson.

Cyril "Jack" Krueger
Cyril Clifford Krueger, 82, of St. James, died on Sunday, March 3, 2002 at the St. James Health Services Hospital in St. James.
A service was held on Wednesday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. James with Pastor Martin Lopahs officiating. The organist was Joyce Monroe and the vocalists were Pastor Martin and Mary Lopahs.
Burial with military honors was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Cyril Clifford Krueger, son of Charles and Lena (Schreiner) Krueger, was born on August 4, 1919 in Adrian Township, Watonwan County. Jack was raised in rural St. James and attended rural school. He was baptized on Sept. 26, 1920 and confirmed on April 14, 1935 at the Salem Lutheran Chruch in Comfrey.
He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 until 1946 and was stationed in the Pacific. His marriage to Henrietta (Fancie) Fansin took place on July 19, 1944 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church parsonage in St. James. They lived in St. James following their marriage. Jack was employed at Scherr-Tumico (now S-T Industries) in St. James for many years. Jack was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St.James and the VFW in St. James. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.
Mr. Krueger is survived by his wife, Henrietta (Fancie) of St. James; a brother, Germain (Tunney) and his wife, Anna Mae of Cross Lake and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald, Orville and Everett and sisters Opal, Coletta, Aldoris and Pearlette.
The pallbearers were Mike Fansin, Bruce Fansin, Steve Schiltz, David Schiltz, Kirk Krueger and Steve Sandmeyer.

Katherine R. Kock
Katherine Ricka Kock, 92, of rural Ireton, Iowa, died Sunday, November 23, 2003 at the Akron Care Center in Akron, Iowa.
A service was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig, Iowa with Reverend Pete Petersen officiating.
Burial was held at St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation was held after 4 p.m., Tuesday at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service at the funeral home. It continued Wednesday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
Katherine was born August 19, 1911 to Herman and Amelia (Gerdes) Dommer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig. She attended country school at Preston #1 in Preston Township.
Katherine was united in marriage to Gerhard Kock on January 3, 1940 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig. The couple lived their entire life on the "home place" near Craig until becoming residents of the Akron Care Center in 1994.
Katherine enjoyed working outside, reading, and church activities. She liked traveling, especially Farm Bureau trips. She also enjoyed watching over her family and friends.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Donna Mae of St. James; three grandchildren, Bonita Heilman and her husband, Tom of Watertown, Joel Johnson and his wife, Kristi of Ilolestein, Iowa, and Sarah Cam and her husband, Touly of Sioux Center, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Katherine, Adam, and Elizabeth Heilman, Taylor and Ross Johnson, and Alyssa and William Cam; son-in-law, Merlyn Johnson and his wife, Mary Lou of Sioux Center, Iowa; sister, Adaline Treiber and her husband, Glen of Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Kock and his wife, Gladys of Le Mars, Iowa and John Nagel and his wife, Ilse of Huntsville, Alabama; four sisters-in-law, Phyllus Pomrenke of White, South Dakota, Marie Janssen of Willmar, Margaret Pecks of Le Mars, Iowa, and Irene Lee of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, and friends in the Craig, Akron, Ireton, and Le Mars areas.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard who passed away in August of 1995; daughter, Rose Mary Johnson in September of 2000; parents, Ilerman and Amelia Dommer; and two brothers, Edward and Frederick Dommer.

Clarice T. Peterson
Clarice Thelma Peterson passed away at Sogge Good Samaritan Home in Windom on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2001, at the age of 79 years, five months and 24 days.
Memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 13, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, with Revs. Stephen Norby and Gregory Hall officiating. Burial followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom. The organist was Carol Vought; Teri Tunheim was the vocalist.
Visitation was held for one hour prior to the services at the American Lutheran Church.
Arrangements handled by Anderson-Schmidt Funeral Home in Windom.
Clarice was born on Oct. 17, 1921, in Canby to Edward and Mable (Rein) Miller. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Canby, and graduated from Canby High School in the class of 1940.
For several years, Clarice was a homemaker, raising seven children, until entering into retailing and then apartment management.
In February of 2000, she was diagnosed with cancer, and on February 13 of this year, she entered Sogge Good Samaritan Home.
Clarice was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom and loved the company of others, especially her family.
She is survived by seven children, Sharon Moody of Butterfield, Junior Peterson and his wife, Kay, of Mt. Lake, Wayne Peterson and his wife, Sharon, of Rochester, Connie Lubben of Windom, Pamela Johnson and her husband, Jan, of Windom, Mark Peterson and his wife, Jan, of Windom, Vicki Wiens and her husband, Mike, of Windom.
She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Florence Miller of Granite Falls; one aunt, Evelyn Emston of Granite Falls; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; brother, Percy; grandson, Travis Nelson; and son-in-law, Charles Moody, preceded her in death.
Honorary casketbearers were all of Clarice's grandchildren, Stacy Moody, Kelly Zodlmar, Kim Hanson, Joshua Lubben, Naomi Peterson, Amy Moody, Chad Peterson, Tanya Peterson, Troy Peterson, Nick Peterson, Shane Nelson, Kristy Moody, Chris Peterson, Justin Lubben, Tera Wiens and Jared Peterson.

Anna. E. Kintzi
Anna Eunice (Nelson) Kintzi, 96, of St. James, died on Monday, March 10, 2003, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in St. James.
A service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James with Pastor Ted Kunze officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Pease Funeral Home in St. James.
Anna was born April 22, 1906, in Woodhull, Illinois to Otto and Emily (Nelson) Nelson.
Anna was raised and attended school in Illinois. She moved to the St. James area with her family in 1913. Anna was confirmed at the Augustana Lutheran Church in 1922. She was a 1925 graduate of St. James High School and attended Mankato State Teachers College. She taught in rural schools in Watonwan County for about nine years.
Anna's marriage to Richard Kintzi took place on December 28, 1940 at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James. Following their marriage they farmed in St. James Township.
Anna was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church and had taught Sunday school. Anna enjoyed her family, listening to her son Dennis play the piano, flowers, gardening, traveling, reading, and watching birds. Mr. Kintzi died in 1982. Anna continued to live on the farm for several years and had been a resident of the Pleasant View Nursing Home in St. James for the past five and one half years.
Anna is survived by a son, Dennis Kintzi of Milford, Iowa; daughter, Jayne Lange and her husband, David of Lamberton; grandchildren, Allison Emery and her husband Jeff of Albert City, Iowa and Jason Lange of Lamberton; great grandchildren, Tori (Victoria) and Mitchell Emery of Albert City, Iowa; sisters, Vera Sandmeyer and Mildred Westman both of St. James and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Leonard and Allen Nelson, and two infant sisters.
The organist was Karen Kunze and the vocalist was Kevin Gegner accompanied by Gloria Gegner. The pallbearers were Jason Lange, Jeff Emery, Paul Missling, Douglas Westman, Clifford Knickrehm, and Perry Schroeder.

Dr. Robert Windschill
Dr. Robert Windschill, 76, of St. James died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
A service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2003 at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Jim Berning and Sister Lucille Hass officiating.
Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery in St. James with Military Honors by the St. James Honor and Rifle Squad.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday and on Saturday from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. Rosary was at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service was at 4:30 p.m., both at Sturm Funeral Home.
Robert was born November 14, 1927 in Comfrey to Martin and Alice (Linde) Windschill. He attended St. Paul Catholic School and graduated from Comfrey High School in 1945.
Robert joined the U.S. Army July 7, 1945 and attended classes at South Dakota State University, as a member of the ROTC. Robert served the U.S. Army in the Phillipines in telecommunications receiving the World War II Victory Medal and an Honorable Discharge on April 19, 1947. He went on to attend and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine in 1952.
Robert joined Dr. Cliff Enge in practice at the St. James Veterinary Clinic in 1952 and was joined by Dr. James Warling in 1971, following Dr. Enge's retirement. They practiced together until Robert's retirement on January 1, 1990.
Robert married Betty Willms on July 17, 1953 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Comfrey.
"Doc" was an active member of the St. James Catholic Church, serving on the church council as a trustee, and sang in the church choir for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #33, VFW post #1914, and was a member and past president of the St. James Lions Club. Robert was a professional member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, past president of the Minnesota Valley Veterinary Medical Association, and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association. He was a charter member of the "Three Penny" coffee club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, music, and the theatre.
Robert is survived by his wife, Betty of St. James; three sons, Paul and his special friend, Sheri Johnson of St. James, Brad and his wife, Stephanie of Harris, and Greg and his wife, Jane of New Ulm; two daughters, Karen and her husband, Doug Dupre of Michigan City, IN and Deb and her husband, John Falcon of Clark Summit, PA; 15 grandchildren, Beth and her husband, Derrick Johnson, Abby Windschill, Martie Windschill, Emily Windschill, Josh Windschill, Nic Windschill, Charis Windschill, Ryer Windschill, MacKinnon Ehlenz, Nora Windschill, Robert Dupre, Sara Dupre, Brittany Julian, Sonja Julian, and Danielle Falcon; two great-grandsons, Tallin Johnson and Bryer Windschill; brother, Ermin and his wife, Jean Windschill of Eden Prairie; two sisters, Rose Hodapp of Sherburn and Marion and her husband, Ed Jereb of Yreka, CA; two brothers-in-law, Donald Willms and David Willms; and three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann and her husband, Bill Paape, Sandra and her husband, Al Anderson, and Mona and her husband, Bruce Toll.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilford Windschill; and two brothers-in-law, Abe Hodapp and Rodney Willms.
Casketbearers were Beth Johnson, Abby Windschill, Martie Windschill, Emily Windschill, Josh Windschill, Nic Windschill, Brittany Julian, and Sonja Julian. Honorary casketbearers were Dr. Jim Warling, Bill Berg, Dave Phipps, Knights of Columbus, the Three Penny Club, and the Bridge Club.
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
