Phyllis Elaine Waller

Phyllis Elaine (Berg) Waller, 78, of Clarkfield, died Tuesday, October 26, 2011.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 29 at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Steve Weston. Interment was at Israel Lutheran Cemetery, Swede Prairie Township, in Yellow Medicine County.
Phyllis Elaine Berg was born to Arne and Edith (Larson) Berg at her home in Friendship Township on April 23, 1933. She was baptized and confirmed at Israel Lutheran Church, rural Clarkfield. She attended country school and later went to the Clarkfield School thru 10th grade.

Thelma Welckle

Thelma Welckle, 101, of Granite Falls, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at the Granite Falls Manor.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 4, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls.
Visitation begins 1 hour prior to services at the church.
Thelma Amelia Welckle was born on April 2, 1910, in Minnesota Falls Township, Yellow Medicine County, the daughter of Carl J. and Alma C. (Eye) Ims. She was baptized at Rock Valle Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. She attended country school through the eighth grade and was united in marriage to Edwin J. Welckle on October 10, 1934.

Leonard J. Worsech

Len Worsech, 92, of Montevideo, died at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo on Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, at Granite Falls Lutheran Church.
Visitation begins from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo and continues one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Leonard John Worsech was born on July 4, 1919, in Bechyn, the son of John and Myrtle (Nelson) Worsech. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school in Wegdahl. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1939.

Ernest (Bud) Jorgens

Ernest (Bud) Jorgens, 87, resident of the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, officiated by Pastor Lori Wold. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, November 2, from 5-7 p.m. at the Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m.

Sylvester (Sal) Sanow

Sylvester (Sal) Alfred Sanow, 87, of St. Leo, passed away on Monday, October 31 at his farm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, at St. Leo Catholic Church with Father Craig Timmerman as the Celebrant.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Birk Funeral Home in Canby with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and a Rosary to follow. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to mass. Burial will be in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by St. Leo American Legion Post 524. Online registry at www.birkfuneralhome.com.

Zoe Sanner
Zoe Sanner, formerly of the Granite Falls area, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Wild Flower Memory Care Lodge in Maple Grove.
Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 28 at Leenthrop Memorial Cemetery of rural Maynard.
Fellowship and luncheon with the family at the Maynard Community Center will follow the graveside services.
Zoe Evelyn Sanner, residing at Wildflower Memory Care in Maple Grove, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the age of 91 years. She was born on November 23, 1919 in Maynard to Lawrence and Ruth (Lighter) Sanner. Before her retirement, Zoe spent time working at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Minneapolis and Baptist General Conference Headquarters in Arlington Heights, Il.
Zoe is survived by four nephews, three nieces and sisters-in-law Ardis Sanner and Mona Sanner.
She was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Ruth Sanner; brothers Rex and Oliver; sister Arlene Anderson and brother-in-law Bert Anderson.
Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Jean Wing
Dorothy Jean Wing, 83, formerly of Montevideo, died on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Presbyterian Home on Lake Minnetonka.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 20 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Entombment will take place in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Dorothy Jean Wing was born in Minneapolis on December 17, 1927, the second of two children to Walter and Winnifred (Brown) Lay. She graduated from North High School in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota where she studied vocal and instrumental music in which she excelled for the rest of her life.
Dorothy was united in marriage with Richard Earl Wing on August 22, 1947 and to this union three children were born. They began their career in the funeral business in the Minneapolis area then moved their family to Casselton, North Dakota where they owned and operated a funeral home and family café.
In 1962, the family moved to Montevideo purchasing the Nerison Funeral Home and Furniture. At that time, the business was located on the north end of Main Street. They eventually sold the furniture portion of the business, renovated and moved the funeral home to the building at Fifth Street and Black Oak where it remains today.

Roy DeMoyne Lancaster
Roy D. Lancaster, 70, of Sturgeon Lake, formerly of Clarkfield, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Essentia Health in Duluth.
A Memorial service for Roy D. Lancaster was held Tuesday, October 11 at the Family Worship Church in Moose Lake with Rev. John Venzke officiating. Inter-ment was at the Clarkfield Cemetery in Clarkfield.
Roy DeMoyne Lancaster was born March 1, 1941 in Wheaton to William Dwight and Ethel Verna (Hansen) Lancaster. As a child, he moved with his family to Miles City, Montana where he attended school. He later moved back to Tintah, Minnesota where he graduated from high school in 1958. Roy married Diane Louise Shaw on September 7, 1962 in Herman. They moved to Iowa shortly after, and Roy worked on a farm.
They moved back to Minnesota shortly after the birth of their first child, Linda, in 1964. Roy, Diane and family were living in Montevideo, and Roy was working at the elevator. Randy, the second child, was born in 1965 while they lived in Montevideo. In June 1967, Roy, Diane and family moved to a farmsite south of Clarkfield where they made their home for 36 plus years.
After moving to Clarkfield, they had two more sons, Ronald born in 1967 and Robert in 1969. Roy had started working for AMPI (Associated Milk Producers, Incorporated) in 1966. He retired from AMPI in 2001. Upon retirement, they sold the farm site that had been their home for over 36 years. They moved to Sturgeon Lake in 2002, and this remains their home. Roy was a proud member of Teamsters Union 544 where he held the office of president for several years before retirement. After retirement, he served as deacon at the church and was a member of the Home Association Board.

Ronald Johnson
Ronald Johnson, 68, of Granite Falls, died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Granite Falls Lutheran Church with Military Honors immediately following services.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls, is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Waller
Mrs. Phyllis Waller, 78, of rural Clarkfield passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Avera Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Clarkfield Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Clarkfield Lutheran Church with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.
Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield is in charge of funeral arrangements.
