Tom “Farmer” Van Lith Mundwiler
Funeral Home announces the death of Tom “Farmer” Van Lith, 58, of rural Big Stone City.
Tom Van Lith died Dec. 14th at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 11:00 a.m. At St. Charles Catholic Church in Big Stone City.
Father Matthew Kowalski will officiate and burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at Mundwiler Funeral Home beginning at 5 PM with a prayer service at 8 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Mass.
Honorary bearers will be the members of the American Legion, Gertje-Van Lith Post #229.
Pallbearers will be: John Van Lith, Joe Van Lith, Nick Van Lith, George Van Lith, Dennis Van Lith, and Bill Van Lith.
Military honors will be presented by the American Legion, Gertje-Van Lith Post # 229.
Thomas Peter Van Lith was born June 19, 1948, in Milbank, SD. He was the son of Nicholas and Edith (Schneider) Van Lith.
Mary Lou Behagg
Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of Mary Lou Behagg, 76, of Milbank.
Mary Lou Behagg died Dec. 14th at the Milbank Area Hospital - Avera Health.
Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 18th at 2:00 p.m. At Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank.
Rev. Marlene Elmstrom from First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville officiated. Burial will be at a later date.
Mary Lou Behagg was born March 30, 1930, in Ortonville. She was the daughter of Jake and Blondia (Dunse) Lee.
Myrtle Hamberg
Funeral Services for Myrtle Hamberg, 99, of Clinton were held Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church in Clinton, with the Rev. David Hinrichs officiating.
Burial was held following the service in the Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton.
Pallbearers were Dennis Carlson, Gary Carlson, Jack Casper, Curtis Gjengdahl, Steve Ketchum, and Dean Sprung
Myrtle Irene Hamberg was born Oct. 21, 1907, to Arvid and Alvina (Larson) Johnson in Clinton.
Myrtle passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at the St. Anthony Care Center in Minneapolis, having reached the age of 99 years.
Duane D. Johnson
Memorial Services for Duane D. Johnson, 64, of Ortonville were held Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Ortonville.
Burial will be held at a later date.
Duane Darrell Johnson was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Graceville, to parents, Abel and Anna (Shroeder) Johnson.
Duane passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, as result of a motor vehicle accident south of Milbank, SD, he had reached the age of 64 years old.
Gordon Kohls
Gordon Kohls of Pomona, CA died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 of heart failure.
Gordon was born Jan. 11, 1920 in Louisburg, the son of Albert and Alvina (Schliep) Kohls.
He graduated from Appleton High School and worked at the J.C. Penney store there and later in Glenwood.
He was drafted into the US Army in 1942 and served from 1942 until his discharge in 1945.
Gordon was one of the first people to be trained on radar. He was stationed in New Guinea during the war, repairing and servicing radar on aircraft used throughout the Pacific front.
Following his discharge, he settled in Pomona and begin working for Lockheed Aircraft in radio and radar. He remained with Lockheed for about 49 years until his retirement.
Gordon was proceeded in death by his parents Albert and Alvina Kohls, three sisters; Florence (Trygve Labraaten), Clara (Arnold Wiese), and Helen, and one brother; Percy.
A memorial service will be held in Minnesota at a later date. A notice will appear in this paper.
Marilyn Ann Hausauer Schmitz
Marilyn Ann Schmitz, 64, passed away at the Powell Valley Healthcare Center, Powell, WY on Tuesday afternoon, Oct 3, 2006.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1942 in Ortonville, to John and Eleanore C, (Bogenreif) Hausauer.
Vigil for the deceased with the rosary recited was held Thursday, Nov. 2, at Barbara's Catholic Church, Powell. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Nov. 3, also at St. Barbara's Catholic Church.
Burial was held in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Billings, on Monday, Nov. 6.
Edward D. Hagle
Edward D. Hagle of Florence, OR died early Saturday, Jan. 27 from complications of respiratory failure and a stroke brought on by pneumonia after a week in the intensive care unit of Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, OR.
Mr. Hagle was born Dec. 1, 193l, at Long Beach, CA, the son of Elza D. Hagle and Dorothea Louise Kaercher Hagle.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Florence on Thursday the 1st at 12:00.
A scholarship fund has been set up in his memory. Memorial contributions may be sent to Siuslaw Valley Bank, P.O. Box 280, Florence.
