Anna B. Lotzer
Anna B. Lotzer, age 89, a resident of Swanville, MN, died May 1, 1998, at the home of her nephew.

Funeral services were held May 5 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville, MN, with the Rev. John Grein officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel (Culdrum) Cemetery in Culdrum Township, Morrison County, north of Swanville.

Anna Bertha Lotzer was born on July 28, 1908, in Brainerd, MN, to the late Herman and Anna (Unger) Vanselow. The family later moved to a farm in Culdrum Township in Morrison County. She attended District 60 School through the eighth grade. While working in Moorhead, MN, she met and married Gilbert Lotzer on May 1, 1928. They lived in Moorhead until Gilbert’s death in 1954. At that time, Anna returned to the family farm in Culdrum Township and remained there until moving into Swanville in 1985 where she resided until her death. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Swanville.

Survivors include her sisters, Emma Glaser of Puyallop, WA; Eda Christiansen and Minna Moldenhauer of Minneapolis, MN; and Gertrude Jackson and Hilda Drews of Swanville; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and -nephews and great-grand-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert Lotzer; half brother, Charlie and brother, Ernest.

Pallbearers were Clifford Jackson, Calvin Jackson, Kristin Jackson - Fregin, Steven Jackson, Melvin Jackson and Todd Jackson.Anna B. Lotzer, age 89, a resident of Swanville, MN, died May 1, 1998, at the home of her nephew.

Tom Roman

Tom Roman, age 49, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died May 6, 1998, at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, with Father Leroy Kremer officiating. Burial was in the Minnesota Veterans Cemetery. Military rites were provided by Post 12 of Long Prairie, MN, and 40 & 8 Voiture 1329 of Little Falls.

Tom was born May 21, 1948, in Long Prairie, MN, to Evelyn (Borgert) and Al Roman. He graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1966, and served two years in the U.S. Army. Tom was united in marriage with Linda Borgmann on June 4, 1970, in Sauk Centre, MN. He was an avid sportsman and really enjoyed spoiling his granddaughter. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 31, 40 & 8, was a life member of Trappers Association, and was a life member of American Legion Post 12.

Survivors include his wife Linda of Little Falls; son, Paul of Little Falls; daughter Krissi and husband Tommy Zwack of Sauk Centre; granddaughter Karla Zwack; mother-in-law Gert Borgmann of Sauk Centre; brother Bud Roman of Long Prairie; sisters, Clara Thornsley of Yucaipa, CA, Bonnie Keizer of Long Prairie, and Nancy Wilson of Farmington, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Al Roman; and his father-in-law, Ernie Borgmann.

Casketbearers were Dennis Mills, Mark Sauer, Marcus Roman, Loren Freie, Dennis Priem, Steve Roman, Byron Freie, and Pete Wolkenhauer.

Honorary bearers were members of the American Legion and 40 & 8 and employees of Minnesota Power and Light.

Pauline Katzmarek
Pauline Katzmarek, age 92, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died May 9, 1998, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial was May 13, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, with Father Leroy Kremer and Father Ken Brenny con-celebrating. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Holdingford, MN.

Pauline was born August 16, 1905, in Arban, MN, to the late Alois and Mary (Zeus) Mayer. She grew up in the Holdingford area and was united in marriage with Alois Katzmarek in 1924 in Holdingford. During their married life, they lived in Minneapolis, MN; Chicago, IL; Harding, MN; Blue Earth, MN; and had resided in Little Falls since 1972.

Survivors include a daughter, Leola and husband Andy Anderson of Merrifield, MN; sisters, Rose Forester of Minneapolis; Priscilla Kollodge of Anoka, MN; and Emily Schneerman of Minneapolis; a grandson, Doug Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alois; two brothers and three sisters.

Casketbearers were Doug and Brandon Anderson, Ron Himley, William Threlkeld IV, and Robert and Gene Katzmarek.

Helen Finke
Helen Viola Finke, age 86, a resident of Little Falls, MN, and formerly of Corcoran, MN, died May 7, 1998, at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls.

Funeral services were held May 11 at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford, MN, with the Rev. William Leersson from Petra Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, MN, officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.

Helen Viola Finke was born June 2, 1911, in Corcoran, to the late Aaron and Hannah (Hiller) Esterly. She grew up in Corcoran and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Herman Finke on May 11, 1935. She worked at Joyner’s Silverplating in Osseo, MN; KP Manufacturing in Minneapolis, MN, as well as on the farm in Corcoran. After her retirement she lived in Moorhead, MN; Carlos, MN; and, in Little Falls where she resided at the Lutheran Care Center until her death.

Survivors include a son, Willard Finke and wife Harriet of Carlos; daughter, Beverly Finke of Little Falls; sister, Irene Finke of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Rollie (Rose) Finke of Juticulpa, Honduras, Robin (Ann) Finke of Virginia, MN, Rebecca Howard and husband Michael of Miltona, MN; Rhonda Aber and husband Richard of Carlos and two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Joshua Howard.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 1964; parents, brothers Milton and Harry Esterly; sisters Florence Sipe, Merle Lange, Evelyn Nelson, Ethyl Anderson and Orell Roehlke.

Gregory Feia
Funeral services were held May 14, 1998, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Opole, MN, for Gregory Feia who died May 10 in Cass County. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Gregory Feia was born January 24, 1955 ,in Little Falls, MN, to Cyril and Lorraine (Pilarski) Feia. He married Sharon Sobania on April 30, 1977, in Opole. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Opole and the Holdingford American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran and he worked for Lawngevity Lawn Care in Sartell, MN, for the past seven years.

Survivors include his wife of Holdingford; children, Gina and Adam at home; mother of Holdingford, MN; brothers and sisters, Raymond of St. Cloud, MN, Cyril, Jr., of Holdingford, Lynn Warzecha of Little Falls, Kevin of Rice, MN, Leslie Ebnet of Albany, MN and Myron of Avon, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father who died December 7, 1996, one son, William and one daughter, Melanie.

Wendy E. Clear-Goodale
Wendy E. Clear-Goodale, age 34, a resident of Delano, MN, died May 8, 1998, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN.

Funeral services were May 12 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle, MN, with the Rev. Ron Tibbetts officiating. Burial was in the Lakeview Cemetery in Grey Eagle.

Wendy Clear-Goodale was born in Sauk Centre, MN, to James and Gloria (Canfield) Clear. She was a graduate of Grey Eagle High School. She then moved to the Dolano area where she met Jerry A. Goodale. The couple married on July 13, 1985, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle. They resided in Delano where she was employed locally as an office manager. She enjoyed physical activities such as aerobics and running. She also enjoyed fishing and photography. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle.

Survivors include husband Jerry Goodale of Delano; stepson, Justin Goodale of Delano; her father, James W. Clear of Grey Eagle, MN; sisters, Susan Froemming and her husband Kim of Grey Eagle, Marllyn Steinemann and her husband Norb of Little Falls, Shirley Nies and her husband Jim of Grey Eagle, Bonnie Clear of Grey Eagle, brother James H. Clear and his wife Char of St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Clear, and her goddaughter and niece Kaycie Nies.

Casketbearers were Jim Nies, Norb Steinemann, Kim Froemming, Ryan, Donald, Doug, Jeff and Justin Goodale.

Harold Kaehlert
Harold Stanley Kaehlert, formerly of Springfield, IL, and Cushing, MN, passed away May 10, 1998, at the Skyview Terrace Nursing Home in Jacksonville, IL. He was 80 years old.
Funeral services were held May 13 at Grace United Methodist Church with Dr. Jonn Wikley officiating. Burial took place at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Jacksonville.

Harold was born April 25, 1918, in Neeleyville, IL to Carl and Bertha (Slagle) Kaehlert. He married Algene Botterbusch June 14, 1941 in Bowling Green, MO. For many years he was in masonry construction in the Springfield area and later was a FAA Maintenance Technician at Capitol Airport in Springfield. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and U.C.T. He was a former member of Riverton United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre as a combat engineer. He was also a member of the Grace United Methodist Men’s Group. While in the Army Mr. Kaehlert earned two Bronze Stars for the Ryukus Island Campaign and the Southern Philippines Campaign. He also received the Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, “Major” Ronald C. (w-Karen) Kaehlert U.S.A.F., Retir-ed, Palm Bay, FL, and Stanley E. (w-Suzanne) of Bloomington, IL; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one grandson.
