Sadie C. Enlund

Sadie C. Enlund, age 94, a resident of St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN, died August 14, 1997 at St. Otto’s. Funeral services were held August 16 at St. Otto’s Chapel in Little Falls, with Father Alan Wielinski and Father Harold Kost concelebrating. Burial was in the Holy Family Cemetery at Belle Prairie, MN.

Sadie was born in Belle Prairie on July 6, 1903 to David and Sephronie (Guertin) Moran. She loved her flowers and working in the garden. Her life was her work.

Survivors include two sisters, Sylvia Bentler and Burnadette Thorp, both of Little Falls; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; brothers, Ovid, Dewey and Ted Moran; sisters, Ella Moran, Viola Geyer, Irene Allord, and Mary St. Onge.

Casketbearers were Leslie Giancola, Gerry Moran, Marilyn Nelson, Gary Bentler, Keith Bentler and Margie Binsfeld.

Evelyn Young

Evelyn Young, age 65, a resident of Little Falls, MN, formerly of Harding, MN, died August 16, 1997 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial was said August 19 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Evelyn was born on March 8, 1932 in Fergus Falls, MN to Walter and Caroline (Skwerea) Chmielewski. She married Clemens A. Young at Harding, in 1949. Evelyn was a resident of the Harding area all her life before moving to Little Falls in 1975. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, prior to her move to Little Falls, when she became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. George (Diane) Kowalczyk of Pierz, MN, Mrs. Thomas (Karen) Gerwing, Mrs. Donald (Darlene) Stager, Ms. Deborah Stager, Mrs. David (Brenda) Johnson and Ms. Lisa Meyer, all of Little Falls; five sons, Randy Young and wife Delores of Pierz, Steven Young of Harding, Jeffrey Young and wife Joan of Jordan, MN, Scott Young of Little Falls, and Cory Young of Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Pauline) Krych; two brothers, Aloise and Benedict Chimelewski; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Clemens; a daughter, Maryanne; an infant son; a granddaughter, Katie Ann Johnson; a great-grandson, Devlyn Mallak; and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Vernie) Pierzinski.

Casketbearers were grandsons: Curt Young, Shannon Kowalczyk, Jason Gerwing, Todd Gerwing, Jeremy Johnson and Levi Young.

Daniel Nielsen
Funeral services for Daniel R. (Jim) Nielsen, age 73, a resident of Sauk Rapids, MN, were held September 11, 1997, at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, with Rev. Gerald Staehling and Rev. Laurie Skow-Anderson officiating. Burial was in Graham United Methodist Cemetery, Rice, MN.
Daniel was born August 13, 1924, in Birchdale Township (Todd County), MN, to Chris M. and Anna (Sieger) Nielsen. He married Shirley L. Wildman on March 23, 1947, in Burtrum, MN. He had lived in the St. Cloud area since 1960. He was a heavy duty machine operator for Crystal Cruzen for 10 years, worked at Sauk Rapids Public Schools for five years and St. Cloud Technical College for five years. He was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Sauk Rapids; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel A. and Cindy Nielsen of Rice and grandchildren, Peter, Shannon and Jacob Nielsen of Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helena McCann and Genevieve Eide.

Casketbearers were Peter and Jacob Nielsen, Bill McCann, Greg and Mike Frank and David and Randy Wildman.

Tianna Ylinen
Tianna Mariah Ylinen, infant daughter of Colin and Janice Ylinen, St. Cloud, MN, died September 8, 1997, at St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services were held September 11 at First Assembly of God Church in St. Cloud with Rev. Jerry Lewin officiating. Burial was in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Tianna Mariah Ylinen was born April 9, 1997, in St. Cloud to Colin J. and Janice (Marshik) Ylinen.

Survivors include her parents of St. Cloud; sisters, Miranda, Kayla and Katrina Ylinen of St. Cloud; grandparents, Colin F. and Patricia Ylinen, Brainerd, MN; Ervin and Clarice Marshik of Pierz, MN, and great-grandmother, Myrtle Ylinen of Brainerd.

Kenneth Krousey

Kenneth D. Krousey, age 83, a resident of Long Prairie, MN, died Friday, February 27, 1998, at the Long Prairie, Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held March 2, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Prairie, with Rev. William Postel officiating. Burial was at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Long Prairie, with military honors provided by the Long Prairie VFW and American Legions Posts.

Kenneth D. Krousey was born December 20, 1914, in Port Angeles, WA, to George H. and Pearl (Hosford) Krousey. He grew up in Swanville, graduating from Swanville High School in 1933. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp for three years. He served in World War II, entering the U.S. Army Air Force, October 13, 1941. He was a Chief Clerk Sargeant, and was honorably discharged, December 18, 1945. He then worked in Washington, D.C., for nine years, as a clerk for the Veterans and Labor Department. In 1955 he moved to Minneapolis, where he was Head Purchasing Agent over marketing for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He retired in 1974 and moved to Long Prairie. He enjoyed traveling the 49 states, poem writing, fishing and bird watching. He had received the “Golden Poet Award” for published poems. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Long Prairie Legion Post #12 and life member of the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corp.

Survivors include sister, Dorothy Mrozek, Winona, MN; six nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, infants Doris and Cyril, Wymond Krousey and Violette McCollar.

Casketbearers were Arnie Westerberg, Rev. Paul Twist, Ray Dols, Mike Sieve, Ev Bullert and Jim Muenchow.

Dolores Johnson

Dolores Mae Johnson, age 68, a resident of Red Wing, MN, died Friday, February 27, 1998, at her home.

A gathering was held on March 3, her home in Red Wing.

Dolores was born February 26, 1930, in Little Falls, MN, the daughter of George and Pearl (Dumprope) Kohs. She attended school in Little Falls. She married Ken W. Johnson on June 28, 1952, in Little Falls. They moved to Red Wing from St. Peter, MN, in March, 1990.

Survivors include her husband, Ken of Red Wing; three daughters, Melain Johnson of Red Wing, Colette (Jeff) Wright of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lynette (Gary) Blakeney of Taylorsville, MS; five grandchildren; two brothers, Dwight (Bea) Kohs of Westminster, CO, and Robert (Jan) Kohs of Forest Lake, MN, and sister, Georgie Betts of Browerville, MN.

Leo Justin

Leo W. Justin, a resident of Sartell, MN, died February 28, 1998, at the Country Manor Health Care and Rehab Center in Sartell.

Funeral services were held March 3 at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen, MN. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Leo was born in St. Stephen, MN, to Anton and Johanna (Omann) Justin. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen, Sartell/ St. Stephen Knights of Columbus and St. Stephen Men’s Society. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Thomas.

Survivors include brothers and sisters Evelyn Durfey of St. Paul, MN, Edward of Albany, MN, Alfred of Idaho Falls, ID, Ben of Little Falls, MN, Nick of St. Stephen, Wilfred of St. Stephen and Clarence of St. Stephen.

Darlene Rutz

Darlene L. Segler, Rutz, age 68, a resident of Brainerd, MN, died February 27, 1998, at the Lutheran Home Health Care Center in Little Falls, MN.

Funeral services were held March 4 at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Dan Clites officiating. Interment was at the Lakeview Cemetery near Hillman, MN.

Darlene was born June 1, 1929, in Sheffield, IA, to Oltetha and E.R. Kephart. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, D.A.V. Auxiliary and the Purple Heart Auxiliary. Darlene married Arthur Edward Rutz on June 6, 1992, in Brainerd.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur; one son, William Segler of Brainerd, and two daughters, Judy Whirley of Brainerd and Arletta Zilka of Randall, MN, eight grandchildren; stepmother, Maxine Kephart of Waterloo, IA; one brother, Darrell Kephart of Onamia, MN; two step-brothers, Ron Kephart and Larry Kephart, both of Waterloo.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Arthur Segler.

Joan L. Reinhart
Joan L. Reinhart, age 63, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died November 30, 1997, at her home in Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial was held December 3 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Anthony Kroll and Rev. Leroy Kremer officiating. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Joan L. Reinhart was born January 12, 1934, in Little Falls, MN to Clarence and Regina (Como) Tuller. She grew up in Little Falls and graduated from Little Falls High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Reinhart on November 13, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple lived in South Dakota for a few months and then returned to Little Falls where they have been lifelong residents. Joan operated a licensed Day Care Center for a time. She then worked as a clerk at the Ben Franklin Store that was located in the Red Owl Store in the variety department. Joan was a pre-school teacher at the Little Falls Head Start from 1968 until retiring in the summer of 1997. She was active in Camp Fire, Boy Scouts, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, O.L.O.L., St. Gerards Mission Circle, DAV Auxiliary, Little Falls V.F.W. Auxiliary and was a member of Central Minnesota Tec, making her first Tec on weekend #164 and since has worked many Tec weekends in various capacities. Joan enjoyed embroidery, collecting bells and carousels.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; parents, Clarence and Regina Tuller of Little Falls; sons, Kenneth “K.C.” Reinhart and wife Mary of Little Falls, Michael Reinhart of Little Falls, James Reinhart of Little Falls; daughters, Kathy Garlock of Little Falls, Mary Jo Litke and husband Robert of Ramsey, MN, Jennifer Reinhart of Brainerd, MN; sisters, Barbara Banick and husband Duane of Little Falls, Mary Lou Yatckoske and husband Orvin of Blaine, MN; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Reinhart, in 1987.

Honorary pallbearers were the members of St. Gerards Mission Circle.

Casketbearers were Aaron Reinhart, Wade and Chad Litke, Christopher and Jonathan Garlock and Andy Bue.
