Mavis Fenske, 58, of Lafayette, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today at the church, and will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel, Winthrop, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; sons, Darwin and wife Lori of rural Winthrop, and Dave and wife Deb of Hutchinson; daughter, Susan of Nicollet; five grandchildren; mother, Arlene Harder of Sleepy Eye; brother, Marvel "Butch" Harder and wife Brenda of Sleepy Eye; sister, Shirley Wendinger and husband Gary of New Ulm; mother-in-law, Lillian Schrieber and husband William of Winthrop; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernie; brother; and father-in-law Herbert Fenske.
She was born Sept. 22, 1941, in Sleepy Eye to Ernie and Arlene (Speckman) Harder. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1960. She worked at Petris Poultry Plant, Sleepy Eye. She married Dean Fenske on April 7, 1962. They lived south of Gaylord for five years, south of Arlington for two years, and in Sleepy Eye for three years. She worked at Hass Press, Sleepy Eye. In 1972, they moved to Lafayette. They farmed in Cornish Township, Sibley County. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop.

Ruby Rath, 90, of St. Peter, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at St. Peter Community Health Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9 a.m. until the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in law, Marilyn and Warren Rodning of rural New Sweden, and Marjorie Tom Mann of Apple Valley; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jean Wise of River Falls, Wis., and Neil and Becky Wise of Kenly, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gerald Wise and Floyd Rath, three sisters and three brothers.
She was born July 19, 1909, in New Sweden Township to Ansel and Hattie (Ostrom) Quist. She married Gerald Wise on June 24, 1930 in Norseland. They lived in Lake City until 1937 when they moved to a farm near New Sweden. They moved to Gaylord in 1958 where she was a clerk at Renner's Drug Store.She married Jerry Rath in Norseland in 1983. They lived in St. Peter. She belonged to Scandian Grove Lutheran Church. She was class secretary at the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture.

Robert Uhde, 46, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Madelia Community Hospital.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Madelia with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Madelia at 10 a.m. Saturday.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Uhde of Lake Crystal; children, Alison and Mike Lunz of Madelia, Steven Uhde and special friend Stacey Piepgras of Madelia and Cameron Timm of Lake Crystal; stepchildren, Jonathon and Amber Lorenzen of Mankato; three grandchildren;; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Ellen Uhde of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Uhde of Mankato, Carol and Gregg Russ and Sharon and Darwin Westberg of Lake Crystal; stepmother Eldora Uhde of St. James; half-brothers, Jim and wife Lori Thompson of Fairmont, David Uhde of Fairmont; half-sister Robin and husband Brad Orvis of St. James; special friend Linda Lorenzen; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandmothers, Mary Ann Ableson and Luella Lane; grandfathers, Gustav Uhde, Victor Ableson and Ellis Lane.
He was born Jan. 11, 1954, in San Diego, Calif., to Harvey and Irene (Lane) Uhde. He married Susan Schleininger on March 19, 1977 in Mankato, and they later divorced. They lived in Mankato and St. James. He was self-employed and also working for Gopher State Scrap and Metal of Mankato.

Albert Goelz, 72, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at his home.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
He is survived by siblings and their spouses, Cecila and Bill Mead of Young America, Mary and Wilbert Braun of Glencoe, Audrey Richter of Ely, Loretta Woelfel of Wabasso, Lawrence and Virginia Goelz of Morton, and Lorraine, Jeanette, Lois and Barbara, all of Redwood Falls.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and a sister.
He was born April 20, 1928, in Birch Coulee Township, Renville County, to John and Marie (Kahnke) Goelz. He lived in Glencoe and North Redwood. He helped Pat Maresch with cleaning at St. Pius X School in Glencoe. He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church.

Sandra Modlin, 58, of Waukegon, Ill., died June 25, 2000.
Services were held June 28, 2000 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waukegon.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-laws, Steven and Mary Ellen Modlin, Scott and Kathy Modlin and Gary at home; daughter, Kim Hoover of Waukegon; six grandchildren; two brothers; one sister-in-law, Linda Sorenson of Egan; mother-in-law, Ila Modlin of Farmington, aunts, uncles and cousins; and Laura Richter of New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her father-in-law and son-in-law.
She worked for Abbott Laboratories for 25 years.

James Green, 50, of Morgan, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Morgan, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and 1-2 p.m., Saturday at the church.
Nelson Funeral Service handled arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Erick and Jared of Morgan; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Cole Corbett of Lake Crystal; mother, Ruth Green of Morgan; siblings and their spouses, Pat and Mary Green of Burnsville, Tom and Joann Green of Morgan, Jill and Dick Pistulka of Willmar, Laurie Green of Richfield, Kris and Mike Shibe of Anchorage, Alaska, Kathy and Mark Thompson of Burnsville; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was born June 25, 1950, in Sleepy Eye to Denis and Ruth (Scharfencamp) Green. He graduated from Morgan High School in 1969 and served in the National Guard. He married Shirley Tauer on Aug. 24, 1973, in Springfield. They farmed in Three Lakes Township. He was treasurer of the town board and was president of the Morgan Lions Club. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Catholic Aid.

Magdalen Mueller, 94, of Arlington, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 6 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Arlington, with burial 7 p.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Bismarck Township, rural Winthrop.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Arrangements with Fenske Funeral Homes, Arlington.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, David and Darlene Mueller of Faribault, Robert Mueller of Winthrop, Michael and Mary Mueller of Winthrop, Bertha Pederson of Arlington, Zylpha Mueller of Winthrop, Marion and David Carter of Rapid City, S.D., Karen and Ray Klenk of Winthrop, Victoria Mueller of Winthrop, and Herbert Mueller of Wofford Heights, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Paul, Waldemar, Arthur and Bethold Mueller.
She was born June 20, 1906, in Lind, Wash., to Peter and Magdalena (Carstensen) Mueller. She graduated from high school and attended nurses training at St. John's Hospital, St. Paul, graduating in 1927. She worked as a nurse for a railroad company in the western United States, including Minnesota. She lived in California from 1966-1979. She moved to Highland Commons, Arlington, in 1979.

Steven Seidl, 42, of Hector, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at his home.
Services are 10 a.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church, Hector.
Visitation is one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home, Hector.
He is survived by his grandmother, Veronica Seidl of Bird Island; father, Robert of Bird Island; brothers and sisters, James and wife Julie of Bird island, Robert and wife Denise of Bird Island, Nancy and husband Dave Kruize of Morris, Sue Baumgartner of Olivia, Allen and wife Staci of Bird Island, Debra and husband Charles Menting of Minneapolis, and Scott and wife Jody of Alexandria; foster family, the Zanoths of Hutchinson; and nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Bernice; and brother, Edward.
He was born March 17, 1958, in Olivia to Robert H. and Bernice (Retzlaff) Seidl. He grew up in the Hector area and graduated from Hector High School in 1977. He worked for Jack Miller.

Betty Laingen Sopko - Memorial services for Betty Laingen Sopko of Las Angeles and formerly of Madelia are 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Butternut.

Harold H. Voges, 72, of rural Courtland died June 29, 2000 at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Arline, of rural Courtland; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Doug Peterson of rural Amboy, and Cindy and Bob Schultz of Courtland; sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and LeNae Voges of Courtland, Lynn and Nancy Voges of rural Courtland; eight grandsons; two step-grandchildren; a step-great grandson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Viola Schroeder of New Ulm, Edna and Willard Arndt of Janesville, and Harriet and Ray Boerger of rural Nicollet; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Irene Voges of rural Courtland, and Ray and Barb Voges of Bemidji, and a sister-in-law, Betty Barchus and her husband Lester of rural Pequot Lakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard Voges; and sisters, Esther Voges in infancy, Agnes Otto and Gert Macho.
He was born May 10, 1928 in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, to George and Martha (Wels) Voges, Sr. He attended the Immanuel Lutheran School in rural Courtland. He married Arline Havemeier on Nov. 4, 1950 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. After marriage they farmed his family's farm in Courtland Township, Nicollet County. They moved to an adjoining farm site in the fall of 1982 but continued to farm fulltime. He turned the home farm over to his son Lynn in June of 1990 and continued to help out on the farm until last May. In addition to farming he worked at Courtland Feed in Courtland.
He was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland and had served as a trustee, finance board member, cemetery commitee member and Dartball player.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Immanuel Lutheran School in rural Courtland.

Arliss Hoffmann, 75, of Sanborn, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Sanborn, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Melford and Aggie Hoffmann of Sanborn; sisters and brothers-in-law Delna and Arvid Redman of Sanborn and Elaine and Lloyd Hedman of Storden; step-sisters Mable Bloemke and Dorothy Bittler, both of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Warren and Delmer; and a step-sister, Vineta Wiese.
She was born January 23, 1925 in Sanborn to Albert and Elsie (Heise) Hoffmann. She graduated from Sanborn High School. She worked as a phone operator for Northwestern Bell in Sanborn, ran the projector at the Sanborn movie theater, was a clerk at Yaeger's Drug Store in Sanborn, worked at Sanborn Manufacturing in Springfield and was a maintenance worker at Sanborn Public School. She belonged to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn and served on the Sanborn City Council.

Donald Dorow, 53, of Morgan, died June 30, 2000, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, with burial in the Springfield City Cemetery with military honors by Morgan VFW Post 5771.
Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home.
He is survived by his mother, Anita Dorow of Springfield; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Eugene Beldan of St. James; brother and sister-in-law, David and Darlene Dorow of Cobden, and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Armin.
He was born Dec. 11, 1946, in Springfield, to Armin and Anita (Schwarzrock) Dorow. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Triple L Construction in Morgan.
