Dale Adrian Varney Jr.
Dale Adrian Varney, Jr., son of Dale Adrian Varney, Sr. and Juanita Louise Parr Varney, was born September 26, 1950, in Eugene, Oregon. He departed this life Thursday, April 24, 2003, in his home, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of fifty-two years, six months, and twenty-eight days. On July 27, 1970, he was united in marriage to Camela Jean Barker, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Camela, on October 18, 2002. Dale is survived by two daughters, Dalene Pettitt, and her husband, Clifford, of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Randee Tyree, and her husband, Paul, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a son, Robert Varney, and his companion, Margaret Fox, of West Plains, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Christine Pettitt, Susan Pettitt, Dewayne Hayes, Stephanie Pettitt, Mary Varney, Shelby Fox, Chelsea Tyree, Shayla Rodreiguez, Samantha Varney, Ryan Pettitt, Shenandoah Varney, Kyle Varney, and Sidney Varney; a brother, Harold Ernest Varney, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Delores Hutchinson, of Reedley, California, and Sharon Brown, of Reedsport, Oregon; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in Oregon, and moved with his family to Sun Valley, California when he was five years old. He graduated from high school in Dinuba, California. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Navy from September 26, 1968, until July 21, 1970. A few days after he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he and Camela were married, and they made their home in California, where Dale worked as a heavy equipment operator in the oil fields. He later worked in the construction of power plants and traveled around the United States with his work and Camela and the children were at his side. In August of 2002, the family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri and made their home. Dale had made his profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mountain Grove. He centered his life around his family, his work, and his church. In his spare time he enjoyed quilting, and working on the Internet. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Dale was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services were held Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 11:00 a. m. in the Mt. Grove First Baptist Church, with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Music was by Diana Edwards, vocalist, and Lorrie Dixon, pianist. Selections were "I'm Not Giving Up", "I'll Live Again", "I'll Wanna Know How It Feels", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Lord, I'm Coming Home", "Precious Memories", "Amazing Grace", "Going Home", "Waitin' on the Far Side Banks of Jordan". Escorts were Todd Cowan, Cody McIntosh, Betty Simpson, Melissa Fisk, Dennis Mooneyham, Dan Waldstein. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mountain Grove, Missouri. Services were under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.

KENNETH CONRAD YOUNG
Kenneth Conrad Young, Hartville, MO, the son of Wayne Franklin Young and Vonnie Faye Smith Ray was born April 3, 1933, in Flippin, Arkansas, and departed this life at 9:30 p. m., Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at his home, at the age of 70 years, and 19 days. Kenneth was a United States Army veteran, serving with the 9th Regiment, 2nd Division, in the Korean Conflict, April 1950 until 1954. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. Upon returning to Hartville ten years ago and retiring, he and his wife, Connie, owned and operated the Old Mill Cafe. Kenneth accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young man during a revival at Little Creek Baptist Church, with the Reverend Fred Drake. A fellow comrade, that had served in the Korean Conflict and the officiating minister, was able to share God's Grace with Kenneth, before his illness and especially during the difficult times when the illness progressed. He is preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Wayne Young. He is survived by his wife, Connie Young of the home; mother and step-father, Vonnie and Virgil Ray, of Hartville; a brother, Bill Young, Phoenix, AZ; two sons, Mitchell Young, Germany and Scott Young, Hartville; four daughters, Mary Kay, Sheila Cline, LaVerne, MN, Vonnie Jones, Hartville, Jeannie Young, Lebanon; step-children, Kathy Robertson, Mtn. Grove, Sherri Reynolds, Tulsa, OK, David Graves, CA; a number of nieces and nephews; eleven grandchildren. Funeral services were held 2:00 p. m., Friday, April 25, 2003, in the Hartville First Baptist Church, Hartville, MO, with the Reverend Ernie Wotring officiating. Escorts were Benny Arnall, Ike Moore, Rex Todd, Richie Arnall, Steve Farris, David Edwards. Honorary escorts were Gary Farris, Joe Coday, John Hamrick, L. D. Garland. Burial was in the Little Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Walnut Lawn DeGraffenreid-Wood Funeral Home, Springfield, MO.

CLARENCE A. PALMER
Clarence A. Palmer, 76, of St. Robert, formerly of Hartville, MO, a business owner, died 3:45 a. m. Thursday, April 24, 2003 at Life Care Center of Waynesville. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p. m., Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Waynesville Memorial Chapel. A graveside service was held 3:00 p. m. Saturday, April 26, at Steele Memorial Cemetery in Hartville, MO. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Lou Emma, of the home; two sons, Lonnie Palmer and Clarence Palmer, Jr. both of St. Robert; one daughter, Betsy Blankenship of Columbus, OH; one sister, Lillie Ross of Cabool, MO; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clarence Palmer to the Gospel Ridge Church or the Deerlick Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.

ERNIE C. GRAY
Ernie Clarence Gray, son of Mose and Edna Claxton Gray, was born February 8, 1917, near Macomb, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, July 29, 2004, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, five months, and twenty-one days.

EDWARD FRANCIS HORNICK
Edward Francis Hornick, son of Edward Francis Hornick, Sr. and Anna Moehlenoff Hornick, was born May 11, 1923, in Peoria, Illinois. He departed this life Friday, June 13, 2003, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, one month, and two days.
On February 23, 1957, he was united in marriage to Carol Altschwager, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Edward is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; two sons, John Hornick, and his wife, Leslie, of Ashland, Missouri, and Greg Hornick, and his wife, Penny, of Conifer, Colorado; a daughter, Barbara Caton, and her husband, Steve, of West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jordan and Joseph Chilton, of West Plains, Missouri, and Avery and Alissa Dawn Hornick, of Conifer, Colorado; special family friends, Eva Woods, and Randy Duckworth; several other relatives in Wisconsin; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, and then moved to Wisconsin after graduating from college. In 1974, he and the family moved to Missouri. For many years, he worked as a statistician for A.T.& T.
Edward followed the Catholic faith and attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Mansfield.
He was keenly interested in alternative medicine and enjoyed doing research on this subject. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Edward was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services were held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2003, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Paul Wightman officiating.
Burial was in Mansfield Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.

REBECCA LYNNE (CLEMENTS) KEATHLEY
Rebecca Lynne (Clements) Keathley of Greenfield departed this life on Friday, June 13, 2003 three miles west of Salina, Kansas, from injuries of an auto accident, at the age of 30 years.
Rebecca was the daughter of Dwight L. and Geneva F. (Bass) Clements. She was born on June 24, 1972 in Springfield, MO. She was a graduate of Central High School, Springfield, and Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, with a B.S. Degree in Child and Family Development. She was united in marriage to Robert Matthew Keathley on June 11, 1994, in Springfield, and to this union two sons, Benjamin and Marcus, were born. She was a member of Greenfield Main Street Baptist Church where she was very active. She was a bus driver and teacher for Headstart where all the children knew her as "Miss Becky".
Survivors include her loving husband, Robert Matthew Keathley; two sons, Benjamin Wayne Keathley and Marcus Lynn Keathley of the home; parents, Dwight L. and Geneva F. Clements of Springfield; brother, Daniel R. Clements, of Springfield; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003 in Greenfield Main Street Baptist Church with Pastors Harold McMasters and Gene Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Van Buren City Cemetery at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Greenfield Funeral Chapel, Greenfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to Keathley Sons Trust Fund.
Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

EARL AVERY HARTMAN
Earl Avery Hartman, son of Guy L. and Ellen L. Lynch Hartman, was born December 6, 1924, near Summersville, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, October 21, 2003, in Ozark Nursing and Care Center, in Ozark, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, ten months, and fifteen days.
In May of 1968, he was united in marriage to Louise Kathleen Smittle, and together they shared the last thirty-five years.
His parents, five brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.
Earl is survived by his wife, Louise, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammi and James Robertson, of Summersville, Missouri; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Ladonna Hartman, of Summersville, Missouri, and Roger and Faye Hartman, of Batesville, Mississippi; a stepson, Lloyd Hightower and his wife, Norma, of Reeds Spring, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Linda Shaddy, of Grovespring, Missouri; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Rees, and her husband, Denver, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Alice Ommert, of Houston, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Summersville community, and graduated from Summersville High School, where he played sports, and was especially good at basketball. After graduating, Earl moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he was employed by the Chevrolet Shell Company for several years, before returning to Summersville. He then owned and operated a service station and general store near Summersville. After he and Louise were married in 1968, they moved to Lake of the Ozarks and operated McCroy's General Store near Camdenton, and Ozark Hardware for several years. They later moved to Grovespring, Missouri, where Earl helped with the family farm, the Smittle Cave, and also managed the M.F.A. Feed Mill. Upon retiring in the 1980's, Earl and Louise moved to Marshfield and made their home.
Earl had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Summersville. He had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger or a person he didn't like. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, watching sports, traveling, and making jewelry. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and was an excellent joke teller. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Earl was loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services were held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2003, in Eureka Methodist Church, with Rev. Albert Stellman officiating.
Recorded musical selections were "Amazing Grace", "Waiting on the Far Side Bank of Jordan".
Escorts were Jerry Dinwiddie, Matt Uder, Rex Wettle, Shane Uder, Kent Wettle, Ryan Wettle.
Burial was in Eureka Cemetery.
Services were under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.

DOROTHY MAE MILLSAP
Dorothy Mae Millsap, daughter of Harry and Elzina Miller Owens, was born July 7, 1919, near Norwood, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, October 13, 2003, in St. John's Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, three months and six days.
On July 7, 1936, she was united in marriage to Earnie Millsap, and to this union three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earnie, on August 31, 1988; a son, Dwayne Millsap; three brothers, Lester, Bill and Don Owens; and a sister, Juanita Reeves.
Dorothy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Daisy Millsap, and Gene and Kathy Millsap, all of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, David Millsap and his wife, Tammy, Robert Millsap, and his wife, Tracy, Tommy Millsap, and his wife, Dana, Sandy Millsap, Brian Millsap, and his wife, Amber, Kevin Millsap and Tina Wilson, and Tina Fears; ten great-grandchildren, Jason, Kayla, Amanda, Jenna, Paige, Trenton, Jaden, and Kale Millsap, Derrick Toops and Emily Wilson; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Wright County, Missouri. After she and Earnie were married, they made their home in the Mansfield community, and lovingly raised their sons. Besides being a devoted and hardworking homemaker, Dorothy also worked at the Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield for several years. Following Earnie's passing in 1988, Dorothy moved to Lebanon to be near her sons and their families.
Dorothy was a longtime member of the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church, where she served as secretary for fifty years, and also was a Sunday School teacher. Since moving to Lebanon, she had transferred her membership to the First Freewill Baptist Church of Lebanon.
She centered her life around her family and her church, and enjoyed taking trips on the church bus. She liked being outdoors where one of her favorite activities was fishing. She took great pride in her appearance and enjoyed shopping for clothes. She also like quilting in her spare time.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed, but the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends will live on forever.
Services were held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 16, 2003, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield, with the Rev. R.E. Helsley officiating.
Music was by Martin Vernon and Robin Widner, vocalists, and Jean Coy, organist.
Selections were "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden".
Escorts were Brian Millsap, Jason Millsap, Robert Millsap, David Millsap, Kevin Millsap and Tommy Millsap.
Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery, near Mansfield, Missouri.
Services were under the direction of Holman Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.

CARLENE (HUNSAKER) CASIDA
Carlene (Hunsaker) Casida of Avenal, California went to be with the Lord January 11, 2013 at the age of 92, after a long illness.

SIMONE

Vincent Milton Simone, 74, Osage Beach, died Feb. 14, 2001, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born June 16, 1926, in Ossining, N.Y., a son of Antonio and Victoria Simone. He was married Sept. 25, 1947, to Jane Hilliard, who survives at the home.

He worked for J.D. Gillenwaters Construction Company.

Survivors include: two daughters, Fran Ash and Vicky Kelley, both of Springfield; one son, Peter Simone, Billings; three sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

One son, Michael Simone, preceded him in death.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.

BAIN

Harold E. Bain, 78, Climax Springs, died Feb. 15, 2001, at Ozark Care Center, Osage Beach.

Arrangements are incomplete at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.

FERGUSON

Christine L. Ferguson, 51, Osage Beach, died Feb. 15, 2001, at her home.

She was born June 22, 1949, in Poplar Bluff, a daughter of Roy L. and Stella E. Pietraski Hebever. She was married Sept. 24, 1966, in Ballwin, to James D. Ferguson, who survives at the home.

She was a store manager in Osage Beach.

Other survives include: one son, James Earl Ferguson, Osage Beach; one daughter, Jamie M. Ferguson, Four Seasons; one brother, William Hebever, Niceville, Fla.; and one grandson.

The remains were cremated under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

RITCHEY

John H. Ritchey, 86, Barnett, died Feb. 16, 2001, at Capital Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
