MESQUITE, Texas - Frances Mae Light 84, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, in Mesquite.
She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Shelbyville, Tenn., to James and Jennie Brown Smith. Frances was one of eight children.
She was married to Duane R. Light in Hampton, Ill. They resided in Escondido, Calif., for 33 years, where they owned Studio West. They then moved to the Christian Care Center in Mesquite in December 2003, where Duane still resides.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Orin and Jim, and sister, Alma.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Donald (Marilyn) of Wylie, Texas, James (Patty) of Hannibal and Larry (Kareen) of York, Neb.; three grandsons, Christopher Light, Jimmy Light and Ryan Light; three granddaughters, Lisa Bartu, Jennie Lape and Kassie Light; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Lape; and two great-grandsons, Joey and Benjamin Bartu.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Fran had great courage, determination and strength of character. She was a loving and caring person and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Elgin C. Robinson

MONROE CITY - Elgin Carroll Robinson, 79, of rural Hunnewell, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at the home of his daughter in rural Springfield, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at First Baptist Church in Monroe City. Dr. Milton Baumgardner will officiate. Burial will be at St. Jude's Cemetery in Monroe City.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Garner Funeral Home in Monroe City and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Robinson was born March 30, 1925, near Monroe City in Ralls County to Elgin Leath and Bertha O'Neal Robinson.
He was married to Mildred F. Burditt on April 19, 1953, in Hunnewell. She died in August 1985. He later married Billie J. Leursen on Nov. 24, 1990. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, John Robinson and wife, Tammy, of Emory, Texas; one daughter, Marilyn Sue Stevens and husband, Matt, of Springfield, Ill.; six grandchildren, Justin and Aaron Stevens of Springfield, Ill., and Caleb, Zachariah, Calli and Seth Robinson of Emory, Texas; and one sister, Lucille Redman of rural Monroe City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Damon Robinson.
Mr. Robinson attended Hereford School in Ralls County and graduated from Monroe City High School. For many years he was a Ralls County farmer and stockman. Later he moved to his Marion County farm to make his home and farm.
He was a member and deacon emeritus of First Baptist Church in Monroe City, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and served as superintendent of the Sunday school. He was a former member of the Monroe City Ambulance Board.
He had served on several committees, including the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service (now the Farm Service Agency). He had traveled to Washington, D.C., on occasion.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church addition.
Pallbearers will be Dale Jorgenson, Keith Mudd, Justin Stevens, Aaron Stevens, Caleb Robinson and Zachariah Robinson.
The deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

HANNIBAL - Bobby G. (Happy) Heathman, 58, of Hannibal, died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at the James O'Donnell Funeral home in Hannibal. The Rev. Dorothy Reed will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the funeral home.
Mr. Heathman was born May 29, 1946, in Hannibal to Lee Warren and Loretta L. Hill Heathman.
Survivors include one brother, Ronald Heathman of the state of Oklahoma; four sisters, Sandra Heathman, Linda Heathman and Barbara Heathman of Hannibal and Shirley Johnson of Bowling Green; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; and one brother, Roy Dean Heathman.
Mr. Heathman had worked at Willow Care Center for five years. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and playing games.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Heathman, David Johnson, Paul Heathman, Sean Mills, Rick Osborne and Terry Thomas.
Betty Lou Peacock

EWING - Betty Lou Peacock, 76, of Lewistown, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Country Aire Retirement Estates near Lewistown.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. Pastor Kenneth G. Schamber will officiate. Burial will be at Gilead Cemetery near Ewing.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family present after 6 p.m. today, Aug. 21, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Peacock was born March 6, 1928, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Allan C. and Matilda B. Fuller Immegart.
She was married to Furdean R. Peacock on Dec. 6, 1952, in Kahoka. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Bob Peacock of Lewistown and Fred Peacock of Shelbina; three daughters, Virginia (Ginny) Peacock of Lewistown and Mary Peacock and Dorothy Peacock, both of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Allan C. Immegart Jr.; four grandchildren, Garron, Lindsey, Jerod and Amber Peacock; one uncle, Wayne Fuller; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother; and two sisters.

Louisiana - Aileen Claudia Elliott, 80, of Louisiana, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Interment of the cremains will be at a later date.
Mrs. Elliott was born May 20, 1924, in Georgetown, Ky., to Jennings and Milford Rogers Beshear.
She was married to Clyde T. Elliott on April 20, 1946, in Louisiana. He preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1998.
Survivors include four daughters, Marlene England and husband, Lloyd, of Chicago, Ill., Jo Anderson of New London, Colleen Pothoff and husband, Jim, of Rothbury, Mich., and Cindy Ruby and husband, Bob, of Louisiana; one son, Roger Elliott of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Brashear and Nancy McKenney, both of Georgetown; one brother, Belt Brashear of Georgetown; nieces and nephews; cousins; and her best friend, Chatasue Smith of Louisiana.
Mrs. Elliott was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana.
