TROY - Alan C. Evenson, 39, of Moscow Mills, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy. The Rev. Richard Stone will officiate. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Evenson was born July 1, 1965, in Troy to Harold G. Sr. and Elizabeth Louise Clark Evenson.

Survivors include his brother, Harold G. Evenson Jr. of Columbus, Wis.; two sisters, Laura Barber of Oshkosh, Wis., and Evelyn Bittner of Columbus, Wis.; a special cousin, Denise (Ric) Howdeshell of Troy; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Evenson had worked as a sheet metal worker for Brooks Brothers in Winfield.

Eleanor Margaret Lionberger Adams Nelson
Hannibal
Sept. 20, 1913 - Feb. 1, 2005

HANNIBAL - Eleanor Margaret Lionberger Adams Nelson, 91, of Hannibal, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Michael Neff will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nelson was born Sept. 20, 1913, in Dawn to William E. and Fannie J. Pucket Lionberger.

She was married to Henry Nelson on June 30, 1994, in Bowling Green. He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann Blevinis of Bloomington, Ind.; two sons, Richard Dale Adams (Diane) of Decatur, Ill., and Kenneth Wayne Adams (Sandra) of Antioch, Calif.; one stepson, Thomas Henry Nelson (Shelly) of Hannibal; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by one brother, L.D. Lionberger; her first husband, Richard Adams; one stepgrandson, Allen Maxwell; and a nephew, Ronald D. Lionberger.

Mrs. Nelson retired from the dietary department of Levering Hospital in 1976. She attended the First Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society/Hospice, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ronald D. Nelson, Jamie M. Nelson, Adam Blevinis, Dale Adams, Tim Adams and David Adams.

Donna D. Huffman
Palmyra
May 16, 1934 - Feb. 2, 2005

PALMYRA - Donna D. Huffman, 70, of Palmyra, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. The Rev. Rebecca Dunger Peak and the Rev. Dewayne Larenson will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 3, at the funeral chapel.

Donna was born May 16, 1934, in Quincy, Ill., to Donald A. and Juliana Heidemann Cooper.

She was married to William D. Huffman on Nov. 5, 1971, in Palmyra. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include daughters, Jean McBride and husband, Jim, of Hannibal, and Becky Schmidt and Mark Miller of Palmyra; grandchildren, Katrina Guthrie of Hannibal, Jennifer Gordanier of Palmyra, Josie Webb of Palmyra and Seth McBride of Hannibal; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Kalli Gordanier, Masen Egbert, Deirdre Houser, Lexie Gordanier, Madelyn Durham and Logan Guthrie; and several cousins.

Donna was an English and Spanish teacher in St. Louis and then taught at Gem City Business College in Quincy, Ill. She later taught at Palmyra R-1 schools for several years. She was a graduate of Western Illinois University. She was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may given to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be Mark Miller, Kevin Cooper, Seth McBride, Jim McBride, Bill Houser and Kevin Durham.

An honorary pallbearer will be Ralph Stuhlman.

Richard K. (Shammy) Hays

HANNIBAL - Richard K. (Shammy) Hays, 81, of Hannibal, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services are pending at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Elza C. Berzins
Troy
Dec. 6, 1910 - Feb. 1, 2005

TROY - Elza C. Berzins, 94, of Troy, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy. The Rev. Jim Williams will officiate. Burial will be at Troy City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Berzins was born Dec. 6, 1910, in Latvia to Karlis and Mary Linins Krisjanis.

She was married in 1935 in Latvia to Ansis Berzins. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her special friends, Glenna Udre, the Norman Danback family, Janet Baldridge, Patra Taylor and Roberto Chacon, and Billie Krieg, all of Troy, Mae Harrell of Truxton, Elza Peterson of Santa Barbara, Calif., and the Woodrow Sheets family of Troy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two stepbrothers.

Mrs. Berzins was employed in the laundry at Troy House for a number of years.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln County Council on Aging, in care of the funeral home.

Arline McNutt
Vera
Sept. 17, 1924 - Feb. 2, 2005

BOWLING GREEN - Arline McNutt, 80, of rural Bowling Green (Vera), died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at her home.
Memorial services will be at a later date.

Cremation was accorded and burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.

Kirks Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green is in charge of arrangements.

Miss McNutt was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Cairo, Ill., to Lawrence and Essie Isler McNutt.

Survivors include one sister, Maxine Gamm and husband, Harold, of Clearwater, Fla.; one nephew, Raymond Lawrence McNutt of St. Charles; and one niece, Mary Michelle McNutt of St. Louis.

Miss McNutt was a school teacher.

Alverta Slaven
Palmyra
Oct. 7, 1910 - Feb. 1, 2005

PALMYRA - Alverta Slaven of Palmyra, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. The Rev. Dewayne Larenson will officiate. Burial will be at Durham Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Slaven was born Oct. 7, 1910, near Durham to William R. and Addie Fletcher Hadfield.

She was married to Lawrence Victor Smith on Jan. 15, 1938, in Palmyra. He preceded her in death Dec. 22, 1948. She was later married to Ernest L. Slaven. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1963.

Survivors include a stepson, Lynn Slaven of Woodland Park, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Alice Bonta, Leota Pearl Minch and Verna Mae Minch; four brothers, William (Willie) Hadfield, Raymond F. Hadfield and two who died in infancy; three nieces, Opal Martin, Judi Minch and Jane Minch; and one nephew, Cecil Minch.
