SLOTE
Rosemary L. Slote, 39, Eugene, died Sept. 6, 1999, near Fulton, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born June 11, 1960, in Chicago, a daughter of Joseph and Rosemary K. Simmons Balles. She was married Aug. 14, 1976, in Eugene, to Robert A. Slote, who survives in Fulton.
A member of First Assembly of God Church in Eldon, she co-owned Elizabeth Rose and Company Beauty Salon, Eldon.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Maria Lynn Buckner, New Florence; one son, Robert Daniel Slote, of the home; two brothers, William Joseph Balles, Eugene, and Frank J. Balles, Kansas City; one sister, Helen D. Binkley, Eugene; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Simmons, Eugene; and one grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. James Hedrick will officiate. Burial will be in Eugene Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to First Assembly of God Church.

COFFMAN
Katie Coffman, 85, Stover, died Sept. 8, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

COMSTOCK
Alan Comstock, 77, Versailles, died Sept. 7, 1999, at his home.

RUMBAUGH
Luther Judson Rumbaugh, 87, Fulton, died Sept. 7, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 24, 1912, in Taylor, Neb., a son of Charles and Xanthe Jeffries Rumbaugh. He was married in 1940 to Harriett Gumm, who survives at the home.
He operated a cattle ranch.
Other survivors include: three sons, Duane Rumbaugh, Auxvasse, Jeffrey Rumbaugh, Moberly, and Matthew Rumbaugh, Mountain Grove; two daughters, Jeanne Squier, Moberly, and Winnifred Kemp, Tebbetts; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
TAYLOR
Audrey Q. Taylor, 79, Versailles, died Sept. 6, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Versailles, a daughter of Quincy and Amanda Bowers Marriott. She was married to Ennis Taylor, who died Sept. 26, 1989.
She worked for Head Start and Kansas City Bifocal, both in Versailles. She later worked in sales for Luvier Cosmetics. She was a member of Versailles Christian Church.
Survivors include: one son, William Holloway, McLouth, Kan.; one daughter, Kathy Tankersley, Syracuse; one brother, Clyde Marriott, Versailles; two sisters, Janie Murphy, Panama City, Fla., and Alice Marriott, Versailles; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Jim Kruse will officiate. Burial will be in Ritchie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Versailles Christian Church.
KELLY
Charles Perry Kelly, 79, Osage Beach, died Sept. 6, 1999, at his home.
He was born April 27, 1920, a son of Alva and Maude Vickory Kelly. He was married July 27, 1940, in Burlington, Ind., to Winifred F. Bender, who survives at the home.
He was a manager at Continental Steel Company for 40 years in Indiana. He was a member of the Kokomo Elks Lodge and the Izaak Walton Sportsman Club, both in Kokomo, Ind.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeffrey Lee Kelly, Siluis, Ill.; one daughter, Carol D. Marrow, Fishers, Ind.; one sister, Betty Wilson, Kokomo; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. Inurnment will be in Praying Hands Mausoleum, Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osage Beach.
MERRIOTT
Elvon L. Merriott, 80, Stover, died Sept. 9, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Stover, a son of Orlyn H. and Ruth E. Brown Merriott. he was married Nov. 25, 1945, in Stover, to Irene Braden, who survives at the home.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked at Versailles Bifocal Plant. He managed Stover Food Locker and was a cattle farmer. He later worked at the Frigid Food Locker in Versailles, and retired in 1981 as a custodian and bus driver for Morgan County R-1 School in Stover. He then worked part-time at Nolting's Manufacturing in Stover.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Stover, where he taught Sunday school and served as Sunday school superintendent. He served on the Stover Cemetery Association board for many years.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Debby Kroeschen, Mt. Vernon, Ill.; one brother, Stanley "Sid" Merriott, Stover; one sister, Mary Nolting, Stover; and four grandchildren.
One son, Terry Merriott, died in 1975.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. James Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Stover, or to the Stover Cemetery Association.
RAY
Sara Michelle Ray, infant daughter of Michael and Sara Ray, Ft. Leonard Wood, was stillborn Sept. 8, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
Her parents survive at the home.
Other survivors include: paternal grandfather, Bobby Ray, New Hope, Ala.; and maternal grandparents, David and Joan Phillips, Eureka Springs, Ark.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Berryville Cemetery, Berryville, Ark.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
POESCHEL
Robert E. "Bob" Poeschel, 56, Mokane, died Sept. 10, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Oct. 4, 1942, in Mexico, a son of William F. and Helen Barker Poeschel. His stepfather, Joseph Hoelscher, also preceded him in death. He was married July 20, 1968, to Jean Hall, who survives at the home.
A 1960 graduate of Jefferson City High School, he received a master's degree from Lincoln University. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served for 27 years with Missouri State Probation and Parole in Fulton, retiring in 1997 as a supervisor. He worked for 10 years in Hannibal. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, Mokane.
Other survivors include: one son, Thomas Victor Poeschel, of the home; two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Burks, Macon, and Billy June Strickland, North Kansas City; one half-sister, Margaret Hoelscher, Jefferson City; and two half-brothers, Joseph Hoelscher Jr., Tebbetts, and James Hoelscher, Holts Summit.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Fr. Tom Seifner will officiate. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Callaway County chapter of the American Cancer Society.
DAVIS
Heather Hunt Davis, 23, Dixon, died Sept. 9, 1999, as a result of injuries she sustained in a traffic accident in Pulaski County.
She was born July 30, 1976, in Anaheim, Calif., a daughter of Kenneth and Tina Hunt Davis. Her mother survives in Dixon; her father survives in Hemet, Calif.
She was a 1994 graduate of Day Spring Christian School in Banning, Calif. She was an instructor at Sheltered Workshop in Crocker.
Other survivors include: one brother, Caleb Joshua Davis, South Bend, Ind.; two sisters, Ivy Grace Davis, Fort Lewis, Wash., and Holly Hope Davis, Dixon; her maternal grandparents, Alfred and Maxine Hunt, Banning, Calif.; and her paternal grandparents, Jack and Marylou Davis, Pomona, Calif.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.
Visitation will be private.
Memorials are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Fund.
