James Roy Cauthon, Sr., age 83, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005, at the Carroll House in Carrollton.
He was born on October 6, 1922 and lived in Carrollton all his life.
He worked at the F. M. Stamper Plant (Banquet Foods) for over 30 years.
On January 31, 1939, J. R. married Mary Ellen Crank of Carrollton, who survives of the home.
J. R.’s survivors also include his sister, Helen Earp, his sons, James Roy, (Jim) Cauthon, Jr. and his wife Mary Jo of Independence, Gary Dean (Eno) Cauthon of Butler, daughters Elaine Mercer and son-in-law Frank Mercer, Jana Higgins and son-in-law Keith Higgins of Carrollton, grandchildren Kevin Cauthon, John Cauthon, Brian Maguire, Dawn Wilkinson, Aaron Lea Cauthon, Lisa Blackerby, Gary Cauthon, Jr., Darrin Cauthon, Rochelle Cauthon, Caleb Cauthon, Sherry Cauthon, Brittany Higgins, Melanie Higgins, Jacob Mercer, and Elizabeth Mercer. J. R. is survived by several great-grandchildren including Colby and Kalen Cauthon, Drake, Dylan, and Ariana Cauthon, Brittany, Veronica, Austin, and Seth Blackerby, and Brooklyn Cauthon, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Lucy Cauthon, a son, Roger Cauthon, a great-grandchild, Curtis Bradley Cauthon, sisters Sally Sherwood and Rose Sanders, and brothers Cecil and Jesse Cauthon.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2005 at Carroll Memory Gardens with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating.

Margaret Stephenson Greenblatt, 85, of Boston, MA died on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Kindred Hospital in Brighton, MA after several years of failing health. Funeral services will be at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Lanny Lybarger and Rev. Wendell Turner officiating. Graveside services will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, MO on Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. Visitation will be at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick on Tuesday from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Brunswick Baptist Church or to the Brunswick Wildcat Booster Club. She was born on January 2, 1920 at Columbia, MO the daughter of Dr. Hugh Edward, Sr. and Doris (Pryor) Stephenson. Margaret graduated in 1937 from Hickman High School at Columbia, MO as Valedictorian of her class. While attending the University of Missouri she was a member of the Phi-Beta-Kappa, the Mortar Board and the Delta Gamma Sorority. She received a BA from the University of Chicago and a MA degree in Education from the University of Missouri. She taught at a country school in Columbia before moving to Brunswick, MO in 1962 where she taught for 15 years before moving to Boston, MA in 1978 where she was employed at the Harvard Law Library. She had been a member of the Worthwhile Club at Brunswick, MO and a member of the Brunswick Baptist Church where she was active as a member of the Beacon Class. She is survived by one daughter; Sally Anglin and her husband Gary of Brunswick, MO; one son Richard D. Greenblatt of Cambridge, MA; one brother, Dr. Hugh E. Stephenson, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Columbia, MO; one nephew, Hugh E. (Ted) Stephenson III also of Columbia, MO; one niece, Ann Stephenson Cameron and her husband Alex of Oklahoma City, OK; one great-niece, one great nephew and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Betty Lou Crose, age 58, of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005 at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born December 2, 1946 in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Earl Sydney and Elizabeth Lou Sowers Clark. She attended Bosworth R-5 School.
On June 1, 1964 Betty married Larry Dean Jenkins in DeWitt, Missouri.
She later married Reigge Crose on September 28, 1975 in Brunswick, Missouri.
Betty was an Avon representative for ten years. She grew up in the Baptist Church and in her adult life attended the Methodist Church. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Bosworth Booster Club, WIBC Bowling Club and the Tarara Club of the Carroll County Shrine. Betty was involved in various volunteer activities.
Betty is survived by her husband, Reigge Crose, of the home; four children, Randy Dean Jenkins and wife DeNae, Triplett, Missouri, Marilyn Denise Stout, Bosworth, Missouri, Reigge L. Crose, Jr. and wife Cheri, Bosworth, Missouri and Kimberly Dawn Hudson and husband Clay, Houstonia, Missouri; two brothers, Bill Clark and wife Wanda, Carrollton, Missouri, Bob Clark and wife Shirley, Bosworth, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Curtis Jenkins, Goldie Jenkins, Darren Cooper, Shandolyn Bradley, Kyle Jenkins, Naedy Jenkins, Sarah Stout, Braden Stout, Ashley Crose and Cole Hudson and two expected grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother in infancy and one son-in-law, Kaven Lowe Stout.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Bosworth, Missouri, with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial was in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
Visitation was from 7-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the funeral home in Bosworth.

Sandra Virlea Blunk, age 66, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Pershing Memorial Hospital, Brookfield, Missouri. She was born June 13, 1938, the daughter of Edward and Virlea Johnson Steiman. She was married to William D. Blunk at St. John's Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Missouri. She was a mother and home maker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband and three children, Gwyn Butlin, Raytown, Missouri, Edward Blunk, Raymore, Missouri and David Blunk, Brunswick, Missouri; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eddie Steiman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri, with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m., on Tuesday at the church. Mary Anita West, born October 6, 1951 in Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005. Beloved wife of James F. West. William A. Epley, Jr., age 42, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 16, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 9, 1962 in San Francisco, California, the son of William A., Sr. and Dora Kathryn Brotherton Epley. He attended Carrollton schools.
On March 27, 1982 he married Leta Faye Bailey in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home.
He is also survived by two children, Shaun Alex Epley and Chad David Epley, Carrollton, Missouri; two brothers, Keith Epley, Billings, Montana and Tim Shields, Kansas City, Missouri; six sisters, Karen Byrd, Orlando, Florida, Patty Milino, Dallas, Texas, Pam Davis, Carrollton, Missouri, Donna Gandhi, Warrensburg, Missouri, Joy Becker, Carrollton, Missouri, Sarah Koechner; and one grandson, Ashton Brandon David Epley.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy, one brother, Ken Epley and his father, William A. Epley, Sr.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will in Little Adkins-Brotherton Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.

Margaret Morrison Shoop - Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Margaret Morrison Shoop passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2005, in Thousand Oaks, California at age 96.
True to her pioneering Irish spirit, she had moved from Mission, Kansas to California, to be near family in Thousand Oaks during 2002, at age 93. She was born Margaret Bricken, in Bogard, Missouri on January 22, 1909, youngest daughter of Edgar and Bessie Bricken, and grew up in Carrollton, Missouri. She always had a kind word and warm smile for everyone she met, and to the end was an animated and interesting storyteller, recalling events and moments :ITom many years earlier with a certain youthful smile and engaging twinkle in her eyes. She was fond of sports, especially basketball and track, and was an avid bridge player.
She was predeceased by first her husband of 42 years, Walter Earl Morrison, and later, Richard Shoop, her second husband of22 years, and three sisters, Eunice Walker, Lillian Cochran, and Marie Allen. Mourning her loss are two devoted daughters, C. Ann Nau and her husband H. Gene Nau of Cleveland, Ohio, Malinda Hammer and her husband Robert Hammer of Thousand Oaks, California, grandchildren Laure Curva, Brian Nau, David Nau, Jamie Hammer Voegler, Megan Hammer Lauhoff. and five great grandchildren.
Earlier, she and her husband, Walter Earl "Buddy" Morrison, were the long time co-owners of Fairway Food Lockers, one of the largest meat operations in the Midwest at the time, and Morrison Meats, both in Johnson County, Kansas. Margaret Morrison Shoop will be dearly missed by all who knew her and the family who loved her so deeply.
There is a brilliant new star glowing in the evening sky tonight. Margaret would like that thought. She has come home after a life well spent.

Helen Marie Emrich, 83, of rural Mendon, Mo died on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 12 noon – 1:30 P.M. prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Powell Cemetery at Indian Grove, MO. Memorials may be made to the Powell Cemetery. Helen was born on March 13, 1922 at Compton, MO the daughter of James William Murry and Stella (Cross) Frock. She was married to Louis Lieuel Emrich on April 9, 1962 at Richmond, MO. Louis preceded her in death on September 20, 2001. Helen had been a housewife and homemaker, she was a Baptist and enjoyed playing Bingo. She is survived by three sons; Daryl Morris of Tina, MO, Dale Morris of Brunswick, MO and Louis L. Emrich, Jr of Mendon, MO; one daughter; Mary Helen Ping of Pomme De Terra, MO; two sisters; Jessie Jenkins of Brunswick, MO and
Verna Deane Carroll of Bosworth, MO; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter; Dixie Ann Morris, her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Helen Mayer, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Carroll House in Carrollton.
She was born May 17, 1919 in Camden, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Albert and Jeanne Bryden Mayer. She graduated from Carrollton High School. Helen worked as a secretary for the 7th Day Adventist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Carrollton. She had served as the pianist and organist.
Helen is survived by one brother, Ernest A. Mayer, Edward, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Wilbur, Eugene, James LeRoy and Albert Harold Mayer.
Graveside services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Sandra Crater officiating.
Visitation was from 10-10:45 a.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, on Tuesday.

Billye V. Grotjan, 86, formerly of Brunswick, MO died on Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Life Care Center of Brookfield. Funeral services will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 A.M; prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Dalton Cemetery at Dalton, MO. Memorials may be made to the Dalton Cemetery or to the St. John's Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Rick Sommerfeld, Bill Hunsaker, Terry Duncan, Rick Meade, Doug Grotjan and Lloyd Grotjan. Billye was born on September 14, 1918 at rural Brunswick, MO the daughter of William Robert and Georgia (Heeke) Gottschalk. She married Donald Lee Grotjan, Sr. on December 5, 1935 at Brunswick, MO. Donald preceded her in death in 1992. Billye farmed with her husband and had also operated an Upholstery Business with Cookie Steiman. She was an active member of the St. John's Lutheran Church at Brunswick, MO. She is survived by one son, Donald Lee Grotjan, Jr. of Keytesville, MO; four sisters, Pansy Sommerfeld of Keytesville, MO, Geneva Hunsaker of Lawson, MO, Delores Ford of Brunswick, MO and Norma Jean Hallowell of Lee's Summit, MO; three grandchildren,
Amber Grotjan Farnen, Donald L. Grotjan III and Ami Lyn Grotjan and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Grotjan, two sisters, Katherine Meade and Shirley Duncan and one brother, Robert Gottschalk. Louise E. Rose, age 91, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 23, 2005, at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born August 18, 1913 in Centerview, Missouri, the daughter of Charles E. and Nellie Mae Miller Wilson. She attended Warrensburg grade schools and graduated from Warrensburg High School and Warrensburg Normal State Teachers College.
On October 10, 1936 she married Wayne A. Rose in Warrensburg, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Mandeville, Missouri, Mandeville Merry Mixers Club, 4-H Club Leader in Carroll County from 1948 to 1972 and a Sunday school teacher for fifteen years.
Louise is survived by five children; Donna Lee Shields and husband Clyde, Kansas City, Missouri, Gary Rose and wife Sheila, Crossville, Tennessee, Mary Ann Lanoue and husband Richard, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Charles A. Rose and wife Linda, Carrollton, Missouri, and Debbie Throgmorton and husband Dave, Kingwood, Texas; one sister, Maxine Harmon, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one brother, Vernon Wilson, Tucson, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Wayne, Louise was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson, Eric D. Rose.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2005 at the Mandeville Methodist Church with Reverend Lee Borders officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Mandeville, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.

CHINN, Delford L., Jr. "Del" (Age 77) passed away May 11, 2005. Born in Chicago, IL November 16, 1927 to Delford L. Chinn, Sr. and Louise Brolliar Chinn. Del served in the Merchant Marines in the South Pacific 1945 to 1946; he then served in the US Air Force in Alaska from 1948-1952. He returned to Spokane and attended Kinman Business University 1953 to 1954, graduating with a Master of Accounts degree. Del worked at Utter Motors for several years and for United Airlines, retiring after 23 years there. Del is survived by his wife, Gail, of 24 years; four children, Clay Chinn, Sue Chinn, both of Spokane, Julie Smith of Chattaroy and Jeff Chinn of Vancouver, WA; two stepchildren, Steve Siefkin of Issaquah and Debbie McClure of Everett; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sister, Jeanne Gross of Chillicothe, Missouri; two cousins, Richard Enarson of Pittsburg, CA, and Howard Chinn of Orlando, FL; two nieces and one nephew. He was a life member of the VFW Post 51. At his request there will be no funeral service. The Neptune Society of Spokane, WA, is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Big Creek Cemetery, Bosworth, MO.

Margaret J. (Peggy) Howland, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Life Care Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born February 6, 1919 in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Lilie Elvina Weger Rayl. She attended schools in Illinois and Indiana.
On July 11, 1959, she married Oliver Howland in Logan, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1978. Peggy was a housewife and mother. She had been a waitress at the Golden Cone, Wagon Wheel restaurant and at the Carrollton Country Club. She was an Episcopalian by faith.
Peggy is survived by five children; Larry Eugene Hazelwood, West Des Moines, Iowa, Robert Lee Hazelwood and wife Brenda, Mesa, Arizona, Evelyn Jean Jensen and husband Jeff, West Des Moines, Iowa, Dennis Edward Howland and wife Sherry, Ogden, Utah, Linda Faye Jones and husband Allen, Carrollton, Missouri; and one step daughter, Thelma Gertrude Ireland, San Jose, California; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Rayl, one twin sister, Dorothy Jean Rayl and one step daughter, Delores Bajurin.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home from 7-8:00 p.m.

Virgil Albert Ebert, 92, of Keytesville, MO and a former resident of Carrollton, MO died on Friday, June 3, 2005 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. He was born on December 31, 1912 at Brashear, MO the son of Oscar and Christina Garrison Ebert. He was married to Ruby Jones, she preceded him in death on August 1, 1989. Virgil married Mabel Fahrenholz on June 4, 1991 at Auburn, Nebraska, she survives him at the home. Virgil
had been active in farming all of his life. While living in Illinois he had worked as a Farm Consultant and a Farm Manager, raising dairy cattle and hogs. He was member of the Cairo Baptist Church. Virgil is also survived by three sons, Larry Ebert of Keytesville, MO, Ronald Ebert of Libby Montana and Donald Ebert of Moberly, MO; one daughter, Donna Jean Morris of Moberly, MO; one sister-in-law, Irene Ebert of Kirksville, MO, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Granville, Clifford and Sherman Ebert;
one sister, Ethel Ebert and one half-sister Edna Lake. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Keytesville City Cemetery at Keytesville, MO.
John Henry Goertz, Jr., age 73 passed away in KU Medical Center on Sunday, June 5, 2005. John was born on April 10, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri and lived there until he entered the Air Force on December 14, 1951. John lived in Phoenix, Arizona from 1975 until 2004 and in Carrollton, Missouri this past year.
John leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Sandradean Ellen, a daughter, Cynthia Jane of Queen Creek, Arizona; a son, Matthew Wayne of Chandler, Arizona; a sister, Nancy Jane Gibson of Independence, Missouri. John was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, one nephew and one great-great niece.
He attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Missouri, and Saving Grace Lutheran Church in Queen Creek, Arizona. Funeral services will be held on June 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley, Phoenix, Arizona, with Pastor Augie Iadiacicco officiating. Burial will be in Phoenix Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m., prior to the service.

Eleanor Stamper, age 70, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the Life Care Center of Carrollton.
She was born October 16, 1934 in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Martin Carl and Sarah Nowland Koch. She attended Carrollton grade schools and graduated from Carrollton High School.
Eleanor married Bill Donaldson who preceded her in death. She then married John Raymond Stamper on November 18, 1982 in Carrollton, Missouri. He also preceded her in death. She had been a nurses aide and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton.
Eleanor is survived by several cousins.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Bill Koch officiating.

William (Bill) Closterman, age 93, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at his home.
He was born May 14, 1912 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of George and Mamie Hudson Closterman. He attended schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Waverly High School. He was a World War II Army Veteran and had been a member of the 517th Parachute Team.
On September 1, 1950, he married Maybelle Seraphinia Grove in Waverly, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2004. Bill had been an office manager for, and had retired from, Sinclair Oil Company in Carrollton, Missouri. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Waverly. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Florida, the American Legion Post #580 of Waverly and the Masonic Lodge A F & A M of Waverly.
One brother, Harry H. Closterman, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, survives Bill.
His parents and one half-sister, Ruth Wilson, also preceded Bill in death.
Graveside Military services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2005 at the Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of Carrollton will perform military services.
Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m., on Monday at the Gibson Funeral Home in Waverly. Friends and family may stop by the home after the graveside.

Burnie G. Jordan, 64, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2005, at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri.
Burnie was born November 18, 1940 in Grand Pass, Missouri; the son of Sidney Eugene and Rosie Ellen Smith Jordan.
He received his education at Grand Pass, Missouri and was employed in construction, as a deck hand on the river, and as Track Foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years.
On March 12,1962 Burnie was married to Billie J. Walden in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Victory Christian Fellowship in Waverly, Missouri.
Burnie is survived by his wife, Billie, of the home; one son, Burnie G. Jordan, Jr., Waverly, Missouri; four daughters, Joyce Willis and her husband, Robert, Waverly, MO, Pamela Williams, Waverly, MO, Jill K. Banks, and her husband, Kenny, Linn, Missouri, and Julie Baker and her husband John, Waverly, MO; two sisters, Betty Hambrick, Waverly, MO and Margie Turner, Carrollton, MO; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, one son-in-law, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Victory Christian Fellowship in Waverly, MO, with the Reverend Jerry Curry officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Gibson Funeral Home in Waverly, MO.
Burial will be in the Grand Pass Community Cemetery, Grand Pass, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. Jordan and they may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, MO 64633.

Ivan Gene Stanley, age 78, of Bogard, Missouri passed a\vay Sunday, June 19th at North Kansas City Hospital.
Gene was born on January 29th, 1927 in Carroll County to Sarah Jane (Howland) Stanley and Roy Stanley.
He attended elementary school in the Bogard and Tina area, two years at Tina High School, and his Junior year at Stet High. He left school to join the Navy, serving 2 years in the South Pacific.
On December 14(h, 1946, he married Bessie Baird, daughter of Edward and Mabel Baird of Tina, MO. They raised 7 children, 3 girls and 4 boys. Gene & Bessie co-founded both The Spinner's Youth Square Dance Club and the Stanley Steamer's Adult Square Dance where Gene cal1ed for the next 22 years. Gene received an award for Lifetime Service and Friend of the association from the Western Missouri Caller's Association in 1996. He retired from Sherwin-Williams in 1978 after 27 years and moved to a home in Elkhorn, MO. When his wife Bessie retired from Commerce Bank in 1993, they bought another home in Bogard, MO where they have lived since. After retiring and moving to Bogard, Gene and Bessie built a woodworking shop where they created and built, handmade items that were then sold in Kansas City.
Gene was a member of the United Church of Tina, MO and a Life Member of VFW Post #1773 of Carroll County, where he served some time on the Honor Guard and a number of years as the Chaplain.
He is survived by his life-long friend, help-mate and wife of 59 years, Bessie, of the home. Daughters Teresa Lawhon and husband Don of Bogard, MO, Jackie Brown of Kansas City, MO, and Becky Stanley of Liberty, MO. Sons Ron Stanley of Bogard, MO, Mickey Stanley and wife Jackie of Kansas City, MO and Eddy Stanley and wife Kelly of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by 18 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his father Roy Stanley of Tina, MO, his mother Sadie Berry of Bogard, MO, brother Bennie Stanley of Kansas City, MO, Sister Marjorie Johnson of Bogard, MO, son Randy Stanley of Liberty, MO, and twin infant Grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Bruce Trussell officiating. Burial will be in Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri. Visitation will be from 7-9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri. The family suggests contributions be made to the family’s choice in memory of Mr. Stanley. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Elizabeth Elnora Crawford, age 90, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 20, 2005 at Appleridge Care Center, Waverly, Missouri.
She was born September 12, 1914 in Waverly, Missouri, the daughter of Ed and Lovie May Johnson Jordon. She attended Waverly schools.
On June 15, 1936 she married Leonard Ervin Crawford in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1982. Elizabeth was a housewife and mother and had also worked for Peters Orchard three months out of the year before retiring. She was a member of the Waverly Christian Church and the Waverly Christian Workers.
Survivors include two sons, Russell Crawford and wife Carolyn, Waverly, Missouri, George Crawford and wife Nancy, Independence, Missouri; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Her parents, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Waverly, Missouri with Reverend Mike Walker officiating. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Waverly, Missouri.

Lora Mae Finkle, 84, of Brunswick, MO and a former Kansas City, MO resident passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Brunswick Nursing Home at Brunswick, MO. Funeral services will be held at the Brunswick United Methodist Church at Brunswick, MO on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Jan Schnepf and Rev. Kathy Morrison officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M until 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Memorials may be made to the Brunswick Nursing Home, or to the Brunswick United Methodist Church, She was born on March 20, 1921 at Stanberry, MO the daughter of Jesse and Mary McGeorge Clark. She graduated from Manuel High School at Kansas City, MO. She was married to Kenneth George Finkle on August 10, 1940 at Kansas City, MO. Kenneth preceded her in death on August 2, 1983. She had been a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader, a member of Sigma-Phi-Gamma Sorority, the American Legion Auxiliary-Rucker-McAlister Post #7 of Brunswick. MO, a former member of the Central Presbyterian Church at Kansas City, MO where she had been an active member of the Senate Class, and a current member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church. In later years she enjoyed playing cards with her friends and being active in the Lows Camping Club. She is survived by one daughter, Kay Lynn Hinckle of Brookfield, MO; and four grandchildren, Kendra & Wesley Hinkle and Jonathan & Elizabeth Finkle. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one son, Paul Finkle who died in 2003.

Funeral services were held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Tuesday. June 28,2005 at 10:30 AM. Reverend Glenna McVeigh officiated. Burial was in the Dalton Cemetery at Daltol1. MO. Pallbearers were John Kussman, John Myers, Brian Calhoon, Bryan. Larry and Lowel1 Newsom. Memorials may be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association. Dorothy was born on September 29, 1918 in Dalton, MO the daughter of William and Elva Grotjan Oetting. She graduated from Dalton High School. Dorothy married Herbert Wayne Newsom on September 1, 1940, Wayne preceded her in death on February 16, 1993. Dorothy had been a member of the .Dalton Home Builder's Club and a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church where she had played the piano fur many years. She is survived by one daughter. Joyce Wetzel and her husband Harold of Kansas City, MO; one son, James Newsom and his wife Beverly of Dalton, MO; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Aiden Dean Bell, infant son of Aaron and Megan Epperson Bell, of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Aiden is survived by his parents, one sister, Emily Kristine Bell and his twin brother, Gage Adam Bell.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Big Creek Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri, with Reverend Gail Brown officiating.
Raymond Friederich Heinrich Grimpo, 84, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 1, 1921 in Carrollton, Missouri; the son of August and Della Hensiek Grimpo. Raymond attended the Walnut Grove School, Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Wakenda High School.
On June 2, 1943 Raymond was married to Alberta Schnare at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Missouri.
He followed the occupation of farming.
He was a member of The Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton, Missouri and served on the Church Council.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Alberta, of the home; three sons and daughters-in law, Dale Ray Grimpo and his wife Mary Helen, Carrollton, Missouri, Dwain Grimpo and his wife Phyllis, Reese, Michigan, David Grimpo, and his wife Shelley, Carrollton, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
