Betty Lou Klein, age 83, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born February 12, 1922 in rural Corder, Missouri the daughter of John J. and Doris DeEtta Burnett Larkin. She graduated from Waverly High School, Waverly, Missouri.
On October 31, 1940, Betty married Robert Francis Klein in Waverly, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1973. Betty had worked at Lake City Arsenal, and as a nurse’s aide and ward clerk at the Waverly Clinic. She was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Hazel Hill Extension Club and Waverly Baseball Booster Club.
Betty is survived by three children, Kaye Klein, Santa Clarita, California, Robert Tubey Klein, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Roland Kim Klein, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Robert Kipp Klein, Liberty, Missouri, Tyler Ward Klein, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Kale Klein Heiman, San Diego, California, Zachary William Klein, Madison, Wisconsin, Jessica Britton Klein, Thomas Larkin Klein and Patrick Desmond Klein, all of Prairie Village, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one sister, Sue Sowers and three brothers, Ferrel, Dood and Thomas Larkin, also preceded Betty in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2005 at the United Methodist Church, Waverly, Missouri, with Reverend Bob Payne officiating. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12-1:15 p.m., on Friday at the church prior to the service.

Mary Lou White, age 62, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Carroll House.
She was born September 15, 1943 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of Eunice Lee “Casey” and Daisy Wheeler Staton. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1961.
On June 16, 1965 she married Edward Michael White in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1997. Mary Lou had worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton from February of 1966 to April of 1987. She was a member of the Carrollton Church of Christ.
Two brothers and three sisters, Juanita Kinder and husband Harold, Carrollton, Missouri, Robert Staton and wife Laura Ann, Carrollton, Missouri, Charlse Staton and wife Jo Ann, Carrollton, Missouri, Catherine Crump and husband Urvin, Louisberg, Missouri, Julie Smith and husband Bill, Carrollton, Missouri and several nieces and nephews, survive Mary Lou.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Prewitt officiating.
Visitation will be from 12-12:45 p.m., on Monday, December 26, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Catherine Elaine Arth born April 18, 1920 in Dover, MO passed away peacefully in her home in Springfield, MO on Friday, December 23, 2005. She was the second child of the late George and Kate Long Arth. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph M. Arth, who she was united in marriage to on January 10th, 1938. Elaine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carrollton, MO. She devoted much of her time to the church and was also a member of the Alter Society. She spent her life dedicated to her seven children and entire family, then as if raising 7 children and being a wife wasn’t enough, she devoted nearly 30 years to serving lunch in the public school system. Elaine loved gardening, sewing and many things that made a home, home. Her kind, genuine disposition will live in our hearts forever. We were blessed to have her as our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved son Bobby Arth, two brothers Louis Arth and Kenneth Arth, two daughter-in-laws Sandy McRoberts Arth and Donna Leiser Arth.
She leaves to commemorate her life four sons and two daughters. Donald Arth, Malta Bend, MO. John Arth and his wife Sharon, Gravois Mills, MO. Gary Arth and his wife Heather, Marshall, MO. Michael Arth and his wife Shelly, Grand Pass, MO. Susan Watson and her husband Dennis, Chillicothe, MO. Carol Kuntz and her husband John, Springfield, MO.
Her eleven grandchildren: Michelle Gibson and husband Dean, Tipton, MO. Melissa Knipp and husband Dion, Tipton, MO. Andy Kuntz and wife Dana, Springfield, MO. Todd Arth, Springfield, MO. Joe Arth, Kansas City, MO. Laura Warner, Malta Bend, MO. Katie Ponting and husband Justin, Excelsior Springs, MO. Kristine Watson, Chillicothe, MO. Kimberly Arth, Waverly, MO. Adam Arth, Marshall, MO. Jackson Arth, Marshall, MO. Her ten great grandchildren.
Her two brothers: George Arth and wife Janice, Marshall, MO . Ray Arth and wife Betty, Marshall, MO. Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery, Dover, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with a Rosary at 8:00.

Nellie Alpha Delila Swearingin , age 98, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2005 at First Baptist Church, Norborne, MO. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church, Norborne, MO. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, MO.

Born March 14, 1907 in the Sugartree area of Carroll County, she was the daughter of George Washington Lemasters and Julie Ellen Wheeler. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church, Norborne, MO on December 26, 1917 and remained a member there until her death. She married Clyde Willis Swearingin on July 21, 1929 who preceded her in death May 7, 1969.

Survivors include six daughters and three sons: Margaret Ellen Kaiser and husband Rufus, Lincoln, MO; Edna Marie Hawkins, Independence, MO; Wilma Jean Henks and husband Bill, Lee’s Summit, MO; Lois Jane Henks and husband Richard, Carrollton, MO; Mary Nell Wheeler and husband Ron, Norborne, MO; and Delila Lynn Baldwin, Boonville, MO; Clyde Willis Swearingin, Jr. and wife Jo Ann; Charles Lee Swearingin and wife Phyllis; and John David Swearingin and wife Peggy, all of Carrollton, MO. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Norman Hawkins, and a great-grandchild, Adria Henks.

Doris E. Wilts, age 84, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born January 15, 1921, the daughter of Smith H. and Eupha M. Evans Gregg. She graduated from Norborne High School and graduated from Warrensburg Teachers College.
On March 23, 1941 she married William Francis Wilts in Shelbina, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1991.
Doris had taught school at Cherry Valley School and later worked for Clayton Bridges Insurance and Real Estate office and as a City Clerk for Norborne. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne and was a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society of Sacred Hearth Church. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxillary, a member of the Carroll County Historical Society and the K and K Club.
She is survived by one son Gregg Allen Wilts, Carrollton, Missouri, one brother, Smith I. Gregg, Carrollton, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Helen Marie Holmes Tillman, 95, of Brunswick, Missouri died on Monday, Dec. 26, 2005 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. She was born on May 18, 1910 at Milan, Missouri the daughter of Sherman and Effie Huffman Shultz. She was a graduate of the Chillicothe High School and had a total of six years of college. Helen had been a School Teacher for many years, and before her retirement she had taught school at Excelsior Springs, Missouri City and Kearney, Missouri. She was member of the Brunswick Christian Church¸ one of the founding members of the TTT Society at Brunswick, Missouri, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had held several offices, and she enjoyed playing Bridge in several Bridge Clubs. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Smith of Brunswick, MO, Donna Schuchmann and her husband R.W. also of Brunswick, and Julie Knudtson of Jacksonville, Florida; seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by parents; three husbands, Carl S. Holmes, Obie Earlywine and Anthony Tillman; two brothers, Orlan and Robert Shultz; one sister, Lucile Goodman; one son-in-law, Abram Wayne Smith and one granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Schuchmann. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO. Reverend Gary Smith and Gail Brown officiated. Burial was in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Pallbearers were Gary and David Smith, and Rudolph, Robert, Mark and Brandon Schuchmann. Memorials may be made to the Brunswick Christian Church, or to the Elliott Grove Cemetery.

Harold William “Pete” Berwaldt, age 81, of Carrollton Missouri, passed away Monday December 26, 2005 at the Life Care Center Nursing home of Carrollton.
He was born on July 6, 1924 in Munson Pennsylvania, the son of the late Leopold and Emma Berwaldt.
Pete was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton serving in various capacities of the church. He was a veteran of WWII serving as gunner of a B24 bomber, 8th Air Force. After the war Pete returned to school in Kansas City on the GI bill, graduating as an automotive body and fender man. Pete landed his first job in Carrollton and began work at O’dell Chevrolet. A few years later Pete passed the examination to become a Federal employee of the US Postal Service, where he worked until retirement August 1, 1986, completing a term of 26 years. While raising his sons, he had been an active Boy Scout Leader.
On December 12, 1948 Pete married Helen Griffith who survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons. Vince Berwaldt and wife Teresa of Marshall Missouri. John Berwaldt and wife Twilla of Ponca City Oklahoma. Six grandchildren also survive him. Terry Jo, Kyle, Katelyn, Emily, Lyndall, and Nathanael. Other survivors include one sister, Elsie Brumbaugh of Beverly Hills Florida and one brother Carl Berwaldt of Painesville Ohio.
His parents, two sisters Ruth Kieper and Gertrude Collard, three brothers, Henry, Marty, and Jake Berwaldt, and one grandson, Lucas Berwaldt, preceded Pete in death.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, with military services provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 from 7-8:30 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Hazelmarie B. Staton (nee Bezold) age 85, formerly of Carrollton, Missouri.
She passed away at The Villas Skilled Nursing Facility in De Soto, Missouri,
on Monday, January 2, 2006.
She was born June 24, 1920, in McKittrick, Missouri.
She is survived by:
son – Larian Johnson (wife, Monte Kay), Hillsboro, MO
step-daughter – Drusilla Breidenthal, Leawood, KS
Grandson – Darin Johnson
Step-grandchildren – Cary, Staton and Derrick Breidenthal
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Melvin Johnson and H. Drew Staton
and her parents Ferd and Marie (Engelking) Bezold.
Hazelmarie was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, President of the Mary Martha Fellowship Sunday School Class, held several offices in the Order of the Eastern Star (Vesta Chapter #5) and a Past President of the Carrollton Woman’s Club.
She retired in 1986 following 30 years of service to the Farmers Home Administration.

M. Joyce Wilkinson, 79, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Joyce was born May 29, 1926 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of the late Clarence and Naomi Baggs. She graduated from Carrollton High School. She lived most of her life in Trotter Township.
On July 27, 1944 she married A. Duane Wilkinson. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2003.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Cowherd, Blue Springs, Missouri, one son, Bruce Wilkinson and wife Donna, Plattsburg, Missouri, six grandchildren, Chris Cowherd, Carrollton, Missouri, Kimberly Bonner, Kearney, Missouri, Mark Wilkinson, Overland Park, Kansas, Corey Wilkinson, Omaha, Nebraska, Deric Wilkinson, Waverly, Missouri, Tracey Jakabosky, Shawnee, Kansas, twelve great grandchildren, three brothers, Walter Baggs, Bellflower, California, Wayne Baggs, Hemet, California, Robert (Bobby) Baggs, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Wilkinson in 1999 and one sister, Olivene Hibbert.
Joyce was a member of RAO Club and the Friendly Neighbors Extension Club. She was a member of the Bogard Church of Christ. She worked at the cookie factory and F. M. Stamper and worked for J. C. Penney Company for twenty years. She was also a farmer's housewife.

Gladys Utterback, 79, of Brunswick, Missouri died on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, Missouri on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Gladys was born on January 28, 1926 at Conway County, Arkansas the daughter of John David and Martha Jane Stark Shankle. She was married to Jack Lee Utterback on November 13, 1941 at Rural Jerusalem, Arkansas. He survives her at the home. Gladys had been a Loving Mother, Grandmother and Homemaker. She was a member of the Brunswick Baptist Church. She is also survived by four daughters, Brenda Sue Taylor of Keytesville, MO, Judy Carroll Piper of Lampe, MO, Peggy Ann Cruse of Moberly, MO and Norma Lee Smith of Keytesville, MO; three sons, D.L. and Charles Lee Utterback both of Brunswick, MO and Jackie Wayne Utterback of Oak Grove, MO; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter, Treasa Lynn Brown. Pallbearers will be Gary, David and Clayton Utterback, J.C. Piper, Jamie Cruse and Josh Sims. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garrett Utterback and Thomas Creel.

Claude Herbert Stroud, age 89, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Carroll House.
He was born January 5, 1917 in Fairplay, Missouri, the son of John M. and Ada Copeland Stroud. He attended Chapel Hill and Fairview Grade Schools and Norborne High School.
On September 15, 1940 Claude married Lenora Miles in Norborne, Missouri. She survives at the home. Claude lived in Norborne most of his life except the two years he lived in the state of Washington. He had worked as a mechanic at Kassen Motor Company in Norborne and was a livestock and grain farmer. He was a member of the Norborne First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sharon Sneed, Norborne, Missouri, two grandsons, Brian Keith Milligan and Kent Allen Milligan and four great grandchildren, Bryce Allen, Chase Aaron, Alex Jordan and Taylor Paige Milligan.
His parents and two brothers, Ernest Hubert and Leonard Franklin Stroud, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Norborne, Missouri, with Reverend M. R. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri.

Cody Daniel Whitmer, age 19, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006, at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was born September 19, 1986 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Danny Ray Whitmer and Sherry Lynne Atherton. He graduated from Carrollton High School in May 2005. He had worked at Main Street Restaurant for three years and most recently was employed at Fuller Marketing, Inc. in Carrollton as a screen printer. While attending high school, he was a member of DECA. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Sherry and Alex Wingate, Carrollton, Missouri, his father Danny Ray Whitmer and Diane, Carrollton, Missouri, one sister, Tara Wingate, of the home, one brother, Shane Whitmer, Columbia, Missouri, his grandparents, Beverly Atherton Snyder, Carrollton, Missouri, Norma Jean Whitmer, Many, Louisiana, Gale Whitmer, Liberty, Missouri, one nephew, Mason Ray Whitmer, numerous aunts and uncles and several cousins.
His maternal grandfather, Gerald Atherton and three uncles, Gary, Larry and Tony Whitmer, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Braden Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Henry Ray “Willie” Williams, 70, of Columbia, MO and a former Brunswick, MO resident died on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Missouri at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10 – 11 A.M. prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, Missouri, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 of Brunswick. Memorials may be made to: The St. John’s Parsonage Fund. Funeral arrangements were by the Gibson Funeral Home at Brunswick, Missouri. Willie was born on June 15, 1935 at Huntsville, Arkansas the son of Frank Bruce and Mamie E. Slate Williams. He graduated from Central High School at Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1952. Willie was married to Joanna Darlene Nunn Coslet on August 20, 1966 at Brunswick, Missouri. Joanna survives him at the home. He had served in the United States Coast Guard as a cook for twenty years, retiring in 1973. After retiring he and Joanna owned and operated the Chariton Inn and Willie & Jo’s Steak House in Keytesville, Missouri. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Brunswick, Missouri and a member of the American Legion Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 at Brunswick, Missouri. He is also survived by two daughters, Donna Jo Duncan and her husband James of Columbia, MO and Kathryn Underwood and her husband Clinton of Tulsa, OK; two sons, Bruce Williams and his wife Teresa of Brookfield, MO and Thomas Williams and his wife Caroline of Collinsville, IL; one sister, Pat Wood of Owasso, OK; eight grandchildren, Lindee Gladbach, Kyle Duncan, Channing, Emerson, Mallory and Jeremy Williams and Amy Jo and Sandra Doyle; two step-grandchildren, Robert Robinson and Bryan Walters; three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Lance Gladbach and Madison Doyle. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy Allen Williams and one sister, Marie Wear.

Howard Lee Sanders, 62, of Triplett, MO died on Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 at Brunswick, MO. Funeral services will be held at the Triplett Christian Church in Triplett, MO on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the McCullough Cemetery at Triplett, MO. Visitation will be at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Monday, Jan. 30, 2006 from 6 – 8 P.M. Masonic services will be at 8:00 P.M.

Howard was born on December 28, 1943 at Triplett, MO the son of Robert L. and Alma Doris Shipp Sanders. He graduated from Northwestern High School at Mendon, MO in 1961. He was married to Carolyn Sue Callaham on August 16, 1964 at the Mendon Christian Church. Howard had been a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Triplett Christian Church, the Warren Masonic Lodge # 74 AF & AM, the Mendon Eastern
Star # 351, the Florence Chapter #124 of Brookfield, the Chariton County Children’s Welfare Board, a past Northwestern School Board Member and was Treasurer of the Chariton County Democratic Central Committee. He is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; one daughter, Michelle Leigh Sanders of Nixa, MO; two sons, Robert Lee Sanders of Triplett, MO and Jon Richard Sanders of Columbia, MO; one aunt, Dorothy Knox of Gladstone, MO; three cousins, William Bill Shipp of Salisbury, MO, Judith Veatch of Camdenton, MO and John Sanders of Brunswick, MO; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Jerry and John Wohlfemuth, Brian and Toby Stephens, Allen Moseley, Paul Yung, Jeff Veatch and Chris Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Koch, L.T. Stephens, W.D. Price, Larry Peters, Rick Wohlgemuth, Wayne Hardwick, John Sanders, Jerry Veatch, Bill Shipp, Harold Koch and John Summers.

Carl Otho Hardin, age 74, of Warsaw, Missouri and formerly of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2006, at Warsaw Health Care Center, Warsaw, Missouri.
He was born October 9, 1931 in Pattonsburg, Missouri, the son of James Harry Hardin and Calla Ithema Hardin. He attended Lock Springs Grade School and graduated from Ludlow High School. He was in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a farm laborer and had worked for F. M. Stamper Company for several years. Carl was a former member of the Rucker-McAlister American Legion Post in Brunswick, Missouri. He attended Baptist churches and was an avid hunter and fisherman, was well-read, loved to joke, loved children and was a poet.
Carl is survived by one son, Randy Hardin and wife Connie, Sweet Springs, Missouri, one daughter, Brenda M. Hardin, Kansas City, Missouri, his caregiver, Rosemary McMahan, one sister, Ruby Bignell, Nodaway, Iowa, five grandchildren, one great grandson, one step granddaughter, three step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, six brothers and three sisters preceded Carl in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Bosworth, Missouri at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri, with Military Graveside services provided by Rucker-McAlister American Legion Post, Brunswick, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12-1:15 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home on Saturday.

James Curtis (Coach “E”) Edmundson, 64, of Brunswick, MO died on Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
He was born on October 17, 1941 at Elk Fork, MO the son of J. Lynn and Emma Pearl Curtis Edmundson. He graduated from Green Ridge High School at Green Ridge, MO in 1959 and in 1964 he graduated from Missouri Valley College at Marshall, MO. Jim was married to Carol Ann McKinney on August 3, 1969 at Morrisville, MO. Carol survives him at the home. Coach “E” retired in 1997 after teaching and coaching at the Brunswick High School for thirty-two years, where he had also been the Athletic Director and friend to all. He loved coaching any of the sports teams at the school. He was loyal to his Brunswick “Wildcats” and enjoyed being with his students and helping them with any concern that they had, on or off the court or field. He also loved to play golf anytime he could. He was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, The Missouri State Teacher’s Association, the Community Teacher’s Association, The Missouri Valley V Club Alumni Association and The National Athletic Director’s Association. He is also survived by one son, James Tyler Edmundson and his wife Amanda of Alma, MO; one daughter, Cara Leigh Edmundson of the home; and one sister, Helen Thompson and her husband Larry of Belton, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 5, 2006 on the Jim Edmundson Court at the Brunswick High School in Brunswick, MO. Rev. Jan Schnepf and Rev. Lanny Lybarger officiated. Burial was in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Pallbearers were Danny and Darrell Widhalm, Scott Richardson, Jamie Ker, Schuyler Manson and Andrew Reigelsberger. Honorary Pallbearers were Lee Widhalm, Larry McKeage, William Page, Travis Dobbins, Rick Manson and Sam Johnson. Norma Jean Clavin, 51, of Kansas City, MO and formerly of Brunswick, MO died on Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO. Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Hazel Ridge Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Norma was born on July 9, 1954 at DeWitt, MO the daughter of William Emmitt and Violet Kaiser Clavin. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1972. Norma was a Slot Technician for Harrah’s Casino at Kansas City, MO. Prior to moving to Kansas City she had lived in Brunswick and had been employed by Conagra at Marshall, MO and Prenger’s Foods at Brunswick. Norma was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church. She is survived by three sisters, Sylvia Clavin of Brookfield, MO, Mary Ballew of Carrollton, MO and Leola Perkins of Salisbury, MO; two brothers, Don Clavin of Carrollton, MO and Orville “Bud” Clavin of Huntsville, MO and several nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother. Pallbearers will be Chris Scott, Carlos Torres, Marty Kendrick, Steve Hardwick, Travis Renzelman and Reigge Crose. Memorials may be made to: Hazel Ridge Cemetery or The American Diabetes Association.

Scott Dewayne Potter, age 37, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away February 7, 2006 in Sedalia, Missouri.
Scott was born September 6, 1968 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Robert Lee Hardwick and Patricia Lorene Potter. He received his G.E.D. in Brookfield, Missouri.
On October 28, 1996 he married Sonya F. Carroll in Linneus, Missouri. She resides at the home.
Scott was employed with Tyson Foods in Sedalia. He was a Methodist.
In addition to his wife Sonya, Scott is also survived by five children, Stephanie, Nickie, Ashley, Robert and Chris, his father, Bob Hardwick, Odessa, Missouri, his mother, Pat Standley, Carrollton, Missouri, one brother, Jesse Gant, Richmond, Missouri, his grandfather, Robert Potter, Hale, Missouri, three grandchildren, Jesse Alan, Hayden Alan McCracken and Korbin Michael Swan.
One sister, Sheila Dawn Gant and his grandmother, Minnie Potter, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Rod McNeall officiating. Burial will be in McCullough Cemetery, Triplett, Missouri.
Scott will lie in state at Gibson Funeral Home from 1-5:00 p.m. on Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Grace “LaVerne” Johnson Woods, age 90, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
LaVerne was born January 3, 1916 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to William Harrison and Susan Rasco Johnson. She attended Poplar Bluff schools. She was employed with the Butler County A.S.C.S. office for five years.
In 1940 she was married to Kenneth M. Woods. They had two children, Hughes H. Woods and a daughter, Diana Susanne Woods who died in infancy.
She was a member of the First Christian Church since the age of 10 years. She taught Sunday school classes many years.
Her son Hughes and wife Linda, Spring Grove, Illinois, three grandsons, Bryan and wife Michelle, Christopher and Michael, four nephews and one niece survive her.
LaVerne was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth and one brother, Cecil Johnson.
Memorial services will be held at the First Christian Church, Carrollton, Missouri, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2006 with Reverend Joe Barone and Reverend John Johnson officiating.

He was born on May 7, 1929 at Dover, MO the son of Amos E. and Margaret Cook Wright. He graduated from Brunswick, High School in 1949 and was married to Ruth Arlene Marquess on May 12, 1951 at Brunswick, MO. G.B. had worked for the Mid-Continent Telephone Corporation for thirty years before he retired as Vice-President. G.B. Was had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ohio, he had attended the Methodist Church and was a former member of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Arlene of the home; one daughter, Tory Antonucci of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Dorothy Darveau of Gardner, KS, Nina K. Skaggs Hensiek of Kansas City, MO and Betty Jane Straub of Marceline, MO; three brothers, Amos Wright, Jr. of Brunswick, MO, Jim Wright of Mound City, KS and Bud Hutchings also of Brunswick, MO; one grandson, Matthew B. Wright and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his parents, one brother-in-law and one son, Kelly Aaron Wright.

Glenda “Sue” Hansel Vogelsmeier ,age 61,of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 12, at her home.
Sue was born April 14, 1944 in Carrollton, Missouri to Glenn and Naomi Scholle Hansel. She attended Carrollton Grade and High School. She was a Receptionist and office manager for the Carrollton Dental Clinic since 1976.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton, Missouri.
She is survived by her parents and two sisters, Janet Jacobs and husband Gary of Bosworth, Missouri. Patsi Miller and husband Tugger of Carrollton, Missouri; One brother Larry Hansel , a close friend Jim Hinrichs of Chillicothe, Missouri A step-daughter Janet Lea Burmeister and husband Steve of Kansas City, Missouri. Two Nieces, Two Nephews and Two Great Nieces and Four Great Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandy Vogelsmeier on May 30, 1976; a great nephew Keith Wilson, and her grandparents, Carl and Anna Scholle and William and Sophia Hansel.
Funeral Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Missouri. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
