Lina May Miller, age 58, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 31, 2006 at Breckenridge, Missouri.
She was born October 15, 1947 in Columbia, Missouri, the daughter of Woodward and Waneta Feese Lungren. She graduated from Stet High School.
On June 14, 1975 she married Norman Miller at the Nazarene Church in Carrollton, Missouri. He survives at the home.
She was a loving mother and housewife and had worked as a secretary for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Carrollton, Missouri and was a member of the Mt. Olivet Cemetery board.
Lina is also survived by her parents, Woodward and Waneta Lungren, Licking, Missouri, one daughter, Lorena Pryor and husband Russell, Bogard, Missouri, one son, Jay Miller, Carrollton, Missouri, five brothers and sisters, Ann Jones, Green Valley, Arizona, Mary Stone, Hollister, Missouri, Nelson Lungren, Bosworth, Missouri, Marguerite Ogden, Licking, Missouri, Edward Lungren, Kansas City, Missouri and three granddaughters, Lily, Mellody and Shiela Pryor.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Assembly of God Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Vernon Porter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Stet, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Melvin J. Brunscher, age 85, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
He was born May 31, 1920 in Wellington, Kansas, the son of Frank and Beulah Hall Brunscher. He graduated from Alhambra High School.
On May 9, 1970 he married Mary Swank in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Melvin had worked for Banquet Foods, Ray-Carroll Coop and MFA. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Carrollton where he served as a Deacon.
One brother, Jim Brunscher and wife Frances, Bogard, Missouri, one sister, Esther Kasner, Modesto, California, also survive Melvin.
His parents and an infant brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Assembly of God Church in Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Vernon Porter officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was from 7-8:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Buddie Marvin Grimpo, age 83, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Fitzgibbon skilled nursing unit, Marshall, Missouri.
He was born June 8, 1922 in Wakenda, Missouri, the son of William and Clara Hensiek Grimpo. He attended Elderbloom Country School, Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Wakenda High School in 1939.
On February 8, 1942 Buddie married Geneva K. Wiechert at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home. Buddie had lived and farmed in Carroll County southeast of Carrollton for sixty-six years. He was a FSA board member and was also a member of the Carroll County Farm Bureau and had served as an officer. Buddie was a life-long member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton where he had served as Elder, Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Church Council. He was also a member and past treasurer of the church’s Men’s Club.
In addition to his wife, Geneva, he is also survived by three children, Donna K. Straub and husband Dennis R., Brunswick, Missouri, L. Yvonne McDonough and husband Wayne, Carrollton, Missouri, Alan M. Grimpo and wife Elizabeth, Carrollton, Missouri, five grandchildren, David A. Straub, Christopher J. Grimpo, Jessica M. Grimpo, Kyle A. Grimpo, Katherine (Katy) A. McDonough and one great-grandson, Bron McDonough.
His parents, two brothers, E. J. and Earl Hayes and one sister, Christine Meek, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday.

Anna Lee Woodward, age 100, of Waverly, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born September 1, 1905 in Waverly, Missouri, the daughter of Alfonsa Anderson and Jennie Thompson Burnett Jones. She attended Waverly schools and graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, Missouri then she attended Missouri Valley College for a year. Her first teaching position was at Malta Bend Elementary. Teachers could not be married at that time. Anna Lee married Tom Woodward on December 4, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas. She stayed at home a few years to raise her family. She later went back to school and attended Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg, graduating in 1959. She taught many years in the Santa Fe School District. After retirement, she taught migrant families and still substituted in the district. In 1914 she became a member of the Waverly Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was a board member and a member of the Women’s Society. She was a member of the Waverly DAR, Carrollton DAR and Marshall DAR. She was Worthy Matron of the Waverly Chapter of O.E.S. She was a member of the descendants of the Officers of the Revolutionary War, Daughters of 1812, Daughters of American Colonists, Daughters of the Confederacy, Colonial Dames, Waverly Garden Club, the Waverly KPMTN Club and the Waverly Kensington Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Beth Gibson and husband Jim, Carrollton, Missouri, their children are Ben Gibson, Carrollton, his sons, Thomas and Brent of Odessa, Elizabeth Loos and husband Andrew and their daughter, Isabelle, of Lee’s Summit, one son, Richard Woodward and wife Helen Lee of Carrollton, and their sons, Eric, Chris and Andrew of Carrollton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, on December 10, 1969.
Mrs. Woodward will lie in state on Friday, April 7, 2006 from 1-5:00 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Waverly Methodist Church, Waverly, Missouri, with Reverend Fred Seba and Reverend Bob Payne officiating. Burial will be in Waverly, Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m., on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Santa Fe Elementary School Library in memory of Mrs. Woodward. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Donald R. Thomas, age 74, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006 at his home.
He was born August 4, 1931 in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Albert Lewis and Louree Calvert Thomas. He attended Gray School, Wakenda School and graduated from Carrollton High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
On February 25, 1951, Donald married Helen Arnold at the Thompson Chapel Church in rural Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Donald was the Chief Engineer for the Carrollton Municipal Utilities and served on the board. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton.
In addition to his wife, Donald is also survived by two sons, Donald Thomas, Jr. and wife Connie, Windsor, Colorado, Gene Thomas, Carrollton, Missouri, one brother, George Thomas and wife Anna, Turlock, California, one sister, Ethel Mae McCoy, Liberty, Missouri, three granddaughters, Melinda Sue, Teresa Beth and Krysta Rae Thomas and three great grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Johnny, Lewis, Earnest, Charles, Jack and Joe, two sisters, Evelyn Winn and Mary Ellen Winn.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Maxwell and Reverend Walter Cox officiating. Burial was in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was prior to the service.

Frankie Evelyn Adkins, 90, of Brunswick, MO died on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO. She was born on March 12, 1916 at Brunswick, MO the daughter of Frank E. and Elsie Pilatz Meyer. Frankie graduated from Brunswick High School in 1934. She was married to George Gerald Adkins on October 25, 1936 at Brunswick, MO. Gerald preceded her in death on April 4, 1991. Frankie had been a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church, the Homemakers Extension Club, the Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and several Bridge Clubs.
She is survived by one son, Kent Adkins and his wife Kathy of Pleasant Hill, MO; two daughters, Elsie Doyle and her husband Bill of Brunswick, MO and Wanda Wages of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Jason K. Adkins of Greenwood, MO, Michael Adkins and his wife Brenda of Pleasant Hill, MO, Gerald N. Adkins of Belton, MO, Ron G. Edwards of Daytona, FL, Chad Wages of Port Neches, TX, Scott Wages of Lee’s Summit, MO and Debbie Hemming of Kingmon, KS; fifteen great-grandchildren; two cousins, Billye Turner and Jan Waller; one nephew, Denny Meyer; two nieces, Patsy Allen and Barbara Tutt. Frankie was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Denzil Meyer. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO. Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiated. Burial was in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Pallbearers were Jason Adkins, Michael Adkins, Gerald Adkins, Ron Edwards, Chad Wages and Scott Wages. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeff Meyer, Randy Meyer and Rick Manson. Memorials may be made to: The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association.

Larry Gilbert Neidholdt, 58, of Brunswick, MO died on Friday, April 7, 2006 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1947 at Brunswick, MO the son of George G. and Mildred B Peterman Neidholdt. Before retiring Larry had been the Maintenance Supervisor at Brunswick RII Schools for ten years. He had attended the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Brunswick, MO. He is survived by his wife Juanita of Liberty, MO; one daughter, Jenita Duncan and her husband Chad of Brunswick, MO; two sons, Kelly Gilbert Neidholdt Williams of Steelville, MO and Larry Travis Neidholdt Williams of Cuba, MO; two step-daughters, Betty Howard and her husband Jerry of Liberty, MO and Helen Kistler-Rew of Raymore, MO; two step-sons, Robert Kistler and his wife Jeannie of Brunswick, MO and Donald Kistler and his wife Rene’ of Ashtabula, OH; his mother Mildred Trusty and her husband Bill of Moberly, MO; three sisters, Linda Heishman of Brunswick, MO, Charlotte Haston and her husband Carl of Brunswick, MO and Patricia Windle and her husband Paul of Hanna WY; and three grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his father and one brother-in-law, Lloyd Heishman who died in 2002. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery at Brunswick, MO. Pallbearers will be Brian Neidholdt, Dennis Neidholdt, Lloyd Heishman, Jr, Leslie Heishman, Ronnie Haston and Bill Nicholson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lonnie Heishman, Carl Haston, Robert Kistler, Jerry Howard, Paul Windle and Bill Trusty. Memorials may be made to the Elliott Grove Cemetery Road Fund.

Henry Bruce Winfrey, age 94, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away April 10, 2006 in Carrollton, Missouri, after a long illness.
Bruce was born February 2, 1912 in Bosworth, Missouri, the son of Ruben and Emma Lauck Winfrey. He attended Bosworth Schools. Bruce spent most of his life farming.
On March 18, 1935 he married Jewell Finley in Carrollton. She survives of the home.
Bruce was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Bruce and Wauneta Winfrey of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Glen Leroy and Leola Winfrey of Stuttgart, Arkansas, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, one half-sister, Jean Mongold, two half-brothers, Sam and Charley Winfrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Jim, Bill, Claude, Ted, Walter, Virgil (Babe), three sisters, Pauline Collum, Esther Nowland and Dorothy Henderson and one half-brother, John Winfrey.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. Burial was in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.

Paul and Rosanne Slusher died Friday, April 7, 2006 at their residence in Gallatin, Tennessee. Their deaths were due to the total destruction of their home in the devastating tornados.
Paul Larkin Slusher, age 57, was the son of F. Larkin and Kathryn Slusher of Waverly, Missouri. After being graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a degree in civil engineering, Paul served in the United States Army from 1972-1977. For next 31 years, Paul was employed as a civil engineer for Black and Veatch Corporation, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rosanne (Vahrenberg) Slusher, age 53, was the daughter of A.K. and Marian Vahrenberg of Chillicothe, Missouri. Rosanne received a B.A. Degree in Education and Art from Central Missouri State University. Rosanne dedicated her life to her family and her church.
Paul and Rosanne were married September, 1974.
Paul and Rosanne are survived by their children Kyle A. Slusher of Kansas City, Missouri and Mindy A. Slusher of Woodbridge, Virginia. Paul is survived by his brother John Slusher and his wife Peg of Marion, Iowa. Rosanne is survived by her mother Marian Vahrenberg and her two sisters Constance (Vahrenberg) Crawford of Maryville, Missouri and Glenda Gayle (Vahrenberg) Ussery of Brick, NJ. Also surviving are three nieces, one nephew, three great nieces and one great nephew.
Paul and Rosanne were preceded in death by his parents Larkin and Kathryn Slusher, and Rosanne’s father A.K. Vahrenberg.
Viewing will be held at Gibson’s Funeral home in Waverly, Missouri between the hours of 11:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday, April 15, 2006. A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at the Waverly Cemetery. Alice Marie Benson, 97, of Carrollton, Mo passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at
Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Alice was born March 4, 1909 in Carroll County. She was the daughter of Arthur and Anna Godwin Dimick. She was married to Frank Benson on February 15, 1931. He preceded her in death November 15,1985.
She enjoyed her life as a farmer. Her outside interests involved being a member of the Victory Club, collecting recipes and gardening. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Minor of Warsaw, Mo, two granddaughters, Deborah Cameron and husband Ken of Grandview, Mo, Diane Swalley and husband Ron of Sedalia, Mo and one grandson, Brian Minor of Lee's Summit, Mo. Also five great grandsons, Joel Birge, Andrew Cameron, Eric Cameron, Aaron Pollard, Ray Pollard and one great granddaughter, Collette Fox and one great-great grandson, Gabriel Fox.
Twice in her life, she was blessed to be part of five generations, once as a grandmother and once as a great-great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Opal Brown,
Mary Mae Turpin and one brother Harold Dimick.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Mo with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until service time at the funeral home. W.D. Price, 83, of Triplett, MO died on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on March 23, 1923 at Triplett, MO the son of Jay Hugh and Clara Myers Price. W.D. was married to Ruthmary Robertson on December 30, 1945 at Brunswick, MO. W.D. had been a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, the Warren Masonic Lodge #74 AF & AM and the Order Of The Eastern Star #278 at Keytesville, MO. W.D. is survived by his wife Ruthmary of the home; two daughters, Nancy and Bob Blair of Polo, MO and Cheryl Keim of Stewartsville, MO; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Price of Mt. Pleasant, TX; one brother, Robert Price of Grandview, MO. Also surviving grandchildren, Stephanie and Jimmy Long of Corder, MO, Tyler and April Keim of St. Joseph, MO, Erin and Jimmy Lewis of Greenville, KY, Baylie Keim of Springfield, MO, Brandon and Ryan Gilley of Austin, TX, Mary Blair of Kansas City, MO, Stephanie and Abe Smith and Ryan Blair of Columbia, MO; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Ben Long, Kaela Keim and Paige Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, two brothers and one son, Gary Lynn Price. Funeral services were held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Jan Schnepf officiated. Burial was in the McCullough Cemetery at Triplett, MO. Pallbearers were Tyler Keim, Jimmy Lewis, Ryan Blair, Alan Garrison, Stacy Singleton and Mark Steiman. Vern J. Martin, 81, of Triplett, MO died on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. He was born on October 3, 1924 at Dean Lake, MO the first son of Clarence Henry and Norabelle Dobbins Martin. Vern entered the U.S. Army on March 22, 1943 during WWII. He spent fifteen months in France and Germany. He was in the 89th Division 563rd Field Artillery Battalion Battery B. Vern was discharged on March 29, 1946. He was married at Dean Lake, MO on July 3, 1953 to Nina Littrell of Mendon, MO. Nina survives him at the home. To this union was born two sons, Alan of Mendon, MO and Vern Dale of Carrollton, MO. Vern has four precious granddaughters, April, Alana, Kayla and Kelsey Martin. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Ellen Stephenson of Triplett, MO and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, C.H. and Jim Martin. Vern was a retired farmer and a member of the American Legion Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 at Brunswick, MO. Funeral services will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. Gail Brown officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in the McCullough Cemetery at Triplett, MO, with Military Honors provided by Rucker-McAllister Post # 7 American Legion of Brunswick, MO. Pallbearers will be Rodney and Donnie Swan, Bobby Dale Littrell, Dale Moore, Leslie Arp, Larry Stephenson, Leonard Adams and Lawrence Dale “Bo” Sharp. Lillie “Anna Lee” Hill, age 75, of Wakenda, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born September 15, 1930 in Milan, Missouri, the daughter of Charley Eugene and Eunice Bernice Jackson Hatcher.
On December 22, 1966 she married Glen Hill, Jr. at Wakenda, Missouri. He survives at the home. Anna Lee had worked at Mary’s Café and the Banner Candy And Cookie Company in Carrollton. She had been a cook at Wakenda School and worked at Conagra in Carrollton until it closed. She then worked at Fuller Marketing, Inc. until she retired.
Anna Lee is also survived by a son, John Glen Hill and wife Mary Grace, Tina, Missouri, two grandchildren, Mariah Autumn and Zane Glen Hill, three brothers and their wives, Billy Keith and Lucille Hatcher, Green City, Missouri, Donald Pearl and Barbara Hatcher, Green City, Missouri, Marion Edward and Diane Hatcher, Milan, Missouri, three sisters, Minnie Charlene McDonald and husband Jack, Humphreys, Missouri, Nancy Lou Eddy, Humphreys, Missouri, Mary Alice Frazier, Browning, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents and two brothers, Charley Leon and Donnie Eugene Hatcher, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Bruce Trussell officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Donald Ray “Sam” Winfrey
Donald Winfrey, 71, passed away at his home in Kansas City, MO., on April 25, 2006. Donald was born in Carroll County, MO, January 8, 1935, the son of the late Reuben V. and Frances Winfrey. He is survived by his wife Juanita “Lee Ann,” a daughter, Karen Malone, step-daughter Cyndi Nestel, 2 step-sons, Jeremy Collins and Danny Adkins, a brother Charles and wife Marion of Reedsville, WI, a sister Jean and husband Harold of Tuscumbia, MO, one step-grandson, one grandson and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, 7 half brothers, and 3 half-sisters. Donald owned and operated Winfrey Roofing Co., Inc. for 30 years. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1955. Rosemary Standley Cary, age 62, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Life Care Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born February 3, 1944 in Linn County, Missouri, the daughter of Chester and Clara Bundy Packham. She attended schools in Linn County, Missouri.
Rosemary was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Brookfield, Missouri.
Survivors include five children, Paula Turner and husband Bob, Carrollton, Missouri, Roberta Wells and husband Jr., Carrollton, Missouri, Karen Jacobs, Carrollton, Missouri, Amy Bailey and husband David, Linneus, Missouri and Thea Silkwood, Carrollton, Missouri, a special friend Earl (Bud) McCollum, four brothers, Bruce and Terry Packham, both of Brookfield, Missouri, Ray Packham, Marceline, Missouri, Lynn Packham, Warrensburg, Missouri, two sisters, June Jacobs, Brunswick, Missouri, Clara Winfrey, Keytesville, Missouri, thirteen grandchildren, Rebecca Turner, Rachel Turner, Bobby Turner, Jr., Laura Wood, Ben Turner, Lance Huffman, Kristen Jacobs, Felica Jacobs, Haygen Jacobs, Gracelyn Jacobs, Shelby Silkwood, Tori Silkwood, Devon Silkwood, two great grandchildren, Hailey Huffman and Brayden Huffman and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and two infant sons, Robert and John, preceded Rosemary in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Lee Borders officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Harold F. Kinder, age 87, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Life Care Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born April 15, 1919 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Fred C. and Dora Nolke Kinder. He attended Shootman School and Lutheran School. Harold served in the United States Army during World War II.
On December 11, 1950 he was married to Juanita Staton by Reverend Otto Graebner in Carrollton. She survives at the home. Harold was a farmer and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton.
Three daughters, Dora Anderson, Carrollton, Missouri, Linda and Bob Hamblen, Carrollton, Missouri, Doris and Jim England, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive him.
His parents, one son, Edward Kinder, one brother, Bruce Kinder and one granddaughter, April Dawn Kinder, preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 10:30 a.m., at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating.
Mr. Kinder will lie in state at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2006 and on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 8-10:00 a.m.
The family suggests contributions be made to the family’s choice or the Lutheran Church Radio Fund in memory of Mr. Kinder. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Goldie Ella Nienaber Gaines, 96 of Columbia, MO died on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the Lenoir Health Care Center in Columbia, MO. Funeral services were held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick, MO on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. Reverend Jan Schnepf officiated. Goldie was born August 21, 1909 on a farm near Columbia, MO the daughter of Frank Joseph and Eva Lena (Sullins) Nienaber. She attended O’Rear & Keene rural schools located in Boone County. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1927, and then attended Orton & Rice Business School. In August 1928 she moved to Jefferson City, where she was employed by the Metropolitan life Insurance Company, being transferred to St. Louis in January 1942 and retired from that company in September 1959. She was married November 18, 1939 to William Orval Gaines. Upon his retirement in 1965, they moved to a farm northeast of Triplett, MO, known as the Bruner Farm and continued to live there until his death on December 9, 1998. Mrs. Gaines then moved to Terrace Retirement Home in Columbia, MO, where she lived until March of 2006 when she moved to the Lenoir Health Care Center. She was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church and also a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, Salisbury, MO Chapter. Goldie was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and six brothers, one of whom was killed in 1944 during World War II. She is survived by several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces. Goldie will be greatly missed by a number of good friends and neighbors. Burial was in the McCullough Cemetery at Triplett, MO. Pallbearers were John Summers, Keith Leimkuehler, Bruce Harmon, Gene Lowe, David Buie and Norman Patrick. Memorials may be made to: the Brunswick United Methodist Church or to the Community Hospices of America, and mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO 65236.

Helen E. McDonough, age 94, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006 at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall, Missouri.
She was born February 3, 1912 in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of William H. and Lena Kuhrothe Brockmeier. She attended county schools and the Lutheran School. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
On November 4, 1951 Helen married John T. McDonough at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton. He preceded her in death. Helen was a homemaker and had lived on the family farm her entire life.
Survivors include one son, Wayne D. McDonough and wife L. Yvonne, Carrollton, Missouri, two grandchildren, Michael W. McDonough and Katherine (Katy) A. McDonough and one great grandson, Bron E. McDonough.
Her parents and one sister, Margaret Germann, also preceded Helen in death.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Lutheran Men’s Club Radio Fund in memory of Mrs. McDonough. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.
Charles Austin Staton, age 70, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 5, 2006 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born September 23, 1935 in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Eunice L. and Daisy Wheeler Staton. He attended Wakenda and Carrollton schools. He was in the United States Army. Charlie had worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton and for various construction companies. He had also worked at Lake City Arsenal. He was a member of the Carrollton Country Club.
Charlie was married to Peggy Johnson in the state of Iowa. To this union two children were born and survive: Roy Douglas Staton, Carrollton, Missouri and Charles Lee Staton and wife Debbie, Greenwood, Missouri.
On November 23, 1989 he married Jo Anne Graham Scott. She survives at the home.
Charlie is also survived by two step children, Douglas Milton Scott and wife Judy, Dana Lee Scott and wife Sheila, all of Carrollton, Missouri, one brother, Robert Staton, Carrollton, Missouri, three sisters, Juanita Kinder and Julie Smith, both of Carrollton, Catherine Crump, Louisburg, Missouri, one grandson, Justin Staton and Tara VandeVenter, Lone Jack, Missouri, three step grandchildren, Sonya Deterding and husband Derrick, Baldwin, Missouri, Darin Scott, Carrollton, Missouri, Zachary Scott, Carrollton, Missouri, one great granddaughter, Alexandria Staton, Greenwood, Missouri and one step great granddaughter, Skylar Dennis, Chillicothe, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Lou White and one step granddaughter, Abbey Scott.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2006 at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Prewitt officiating.
Visitation was held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

PFC Alva Lamar Gaylord, age 25, of Carrollton, Missouri, was killed on active duty in Qasr Ar Riyy, Iraq on May 5, 2006.
He was born February 27, 1981 in Ventura County, California, the son of John Beckenridge and Victoria Lynn Eldridge Gaylord. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 2000. He attended one year of college. He joined the Missouri Army National Guard on July 27, 2003. Al was of Native American descent.
Al is survived by two daughters, Candace and Rachel, his mother, Vicki, Henrietta, Missouri, brothers and sisters, Andrew Payne, Carrollton, Missouri, Ida Clater and Jenny Payne, both of Henrietta, Joseph Payne, Lebanon, Missouri, three aunts, Betty Broomhead, Lebanon, Missouri, Cindy Coates and Michelle Lerback, both of the State of Idaho and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for PFC Alva Gaylord will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri. Military graveside services will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Flatwood Cemetery, Lebanon, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 16, 2006.

Richard West, 68, of DeWitt, MO died on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1937 at Dean Lake, MO the son of Curry B. and Helen (Earlywine) West. Richard first attended school at Dean Lake, MO and later graduated from Northwestern High School at Mendon, MO. He served his country in Korea as a member of the U.S. Army. Richard was married to Carolyn Sue Runge Heishman on October 3, 1971 at Brunswick, MO. Carolyn survives him at the home. Richard had worked for Aden & Shull Chevy-Olds in Brunswick, MO for over forty years. He was a Life Member of the N.R.A., a member of the DeWitt Community Club, the
Rucker-McAllister Post #7 American Legion at Brunswick, MO and a member of
St. John’s Lutheran Church at Brunswick, MO. He is also survived by two sons,
Darren Heishman of Fulton, MO and Rodger Heishman and his wife Toni of San Jose, CA; one sister, Carrie West of Bogard, MO; one brother, Ronald K. West of Holden, MO; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patsy and Donald Fromm of Camdenton, MO; several nieces and nephews and his two companions; Chloe Jane & Fly. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Brunswick, MO on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Glen Drewitz officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at DeWitt, MO. Military Honors were provided by the Rucker-McAllister Post #7 American Legion of Brunswick, MO. Pallbearers were Steve and Bruce Harmon, Junior Yung, Kenny and Kevin Fromm and
Justin West. Honorary Pallbearers were Herman and Marvin Heishman, Terry Barnet, Danny Gladbach, Gary Minnis, Joe Balwin and Denney Straub. Funeral arrangements were by the Gibson Funeral Home at Brunswick, MO. Memorials may be made to:
St. John’s Lutheran Church or to the Evergreen Cemetery Road Fund.
