DOYLE
Effie Feeler Doyle, 90, Vienna, died Sept. 10, 1999, at Maries Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 15, 1909, in Maries County, a daughter of Elick and Annie Pelikan Hayes. She was married to Theodore Feeler, who died Aug. 22, 1962. She was married June 24, 1967, in St. Louis, to George Doyle, who died April 23, 1981.
She was a schoolteacher for 30 years and a homemaker who helped with the family farm. She was a member of Rainbow Chapter 263 Order of the Eastern Star, Vienna.
She attended James Community Church and First Baptist Church, both in Vienna.
Survivors include: three sons, T.A. Feeler, Granite City, Ill., Delmar "Pat" Feeler, Vienna, and Wayne Feeler, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two daughters, Anna Lee Baker, Galax, Va., and Jackie Wulff, Licking; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Julius Feeler and Forest Feeler, and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at James Community Church. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in the James Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with memorial services by Rainbow Chapter 263 Order of the Eastern Star at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at James Community Church.
Memorials are suggested to the James Community Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or Vienna United Methodist Church.
KEEFE
James F. Keefe, 75, Jefferson City, died Sept. 11, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Tulsa, Okla., a son of Festus W. and Ruby Gail Ratliff Keefe. He was married in 1943 in St. Louis to Doris Jeanne Royse, who preceded him in death.
He attended public schools in St. Louis, then earned biology and zoology degrees at Purdue University, the University of Indiana and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He served nearly three years in the Army Air Force.
A nationally acclaimed writer and communicator, he had been editor of the Missouri Conservationist magazine and was chief of the Missouri Department of Conservation's information section from 1957 to 1985. He authored several award-winning publications and books, including "World of the Opossum" in 1967 and "The First Fifty Years," a history of the Missouri Conservation Commission, published in 1987. He also wrote narrative scripts for six award-winning Conservation Department motion pictures.
He had been president of the Missouri Outdoor Writers Association and held memberships or offices in a number of other organizations, including the United Sportsmen's Club, Conservation Federation of Missouri, National Rifle Association, National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, Disabled American Veterans and the Missouri Prairie Foundation. He also was a lecturer and adviser on conservation issues throughout the nation.
In 1998, he was given the Master Conservationist Award by the Missouri Conservation Commission.
He was active in Boy Scouting for more than 25 years, holding every district and council office and winning the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to scouting in 1964. He was a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
Survivors include: four children, Kathleen Ellen Lenon, Nevada, Kevin Ian Keefe, San Francisco, Kerry Allyson Neal, Tucson, Ariz., and Kelly James Royse-Keefe, Jefferson City; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private family services will be held.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Conservation Federation of Missouri or the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
KISER
Irene Elisabeth Kiser, 90, California, formerly of Jamestown, died Sept. 11, 1999, at California Care Center.
Arrangements are incomplete at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California.
MEADE
Thomas Parker Meade, 73, Jefferson City, died Sept. 10, 1999, at his home.
Arrangements are incomplete at Buescher Memorial Home.
BUDT
Kathlyn Anita Budt, 85, Camdenton, died Sept. 13, 1999, at Windsor Estates.
She was born Aug. 6, 1914, in Belleville, Ill., a daughter of Julius and Matilda Bertsclinger Glueck. She was married June 28, 1938, in Ste. Genevieve, to William Joseph Budt, who died Dec. 22, 1997.
She had been a Cub Scout den mother in Affton, and was a member of the Methodist church. A homemaker, she had been a resident of the Lake area for the past three years.
Survivors include: three sons, William J. Budt, Elko, Nev., Charles J. Budt, Camdenton, and Kenneth J. Budt, Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Charlotte Toben, Swansea, Ill.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mellow Memorial United Methodist Church, St. Louis. The Rev. Stan Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Thursday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. A second visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Friday at the church.
BUSCHJOST
Cecilia Anna Buschjost, 94, Wardsville, died Sept. 13, 1999, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born July 22, 1905, in Wardsville, a daughter of Anton and Sophia Eveler Kolb. She was married April 24, 1928, in Wardsville, to Joseph Herman Buschjost, who died Nov. 30, 1971.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville, Our Lady's Sodality and the Over-Fifty Club.
Survivors include: two daughters, Gladys A. Lehman, St. Martins, and Margie J. Struemph, Wardsville; two sons, Victor H. Buschjost, Jefferson City, and Leroy A. Buschjost, Wardsville; 20 grandchildren, four step grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Leonard B. Buschjost, Clarence Buschjost and Paul Buschjost; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael A. Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Wardsville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Building Fund, Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility or the Helias Foundation.
EDGE
Doris J. Edge, 75, Jefferson City, died Sept. 12, 1999, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged.
She was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Balfour, Iowa, a daughter of William A. and Elizabeth J. Ewing Barkus. She was married May 8, 1946, in St. Joseph, to Duane E. Edge, who died Oct. 9, 1993.
She graduated from Central High School, St. Joseph, and from the Missouri Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1945.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson City, and the senior adult choir. She was a member of the Daytime Newcomer's Club. She had lived in Brandon, Miss.
Survivors include: one daughter, Teresa "Terri" Payne, Mokane; two brothers, Robert Barkus, Penfield, N.Y., and Burton Barkus, Leavenworth, Kan.; one sister, Garnet Maxwell, Des Moines, Iowa; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Additional visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Brandon Miss., with services following at 1 p.m. The Rev. Gene Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Brandon Memorial Gardens.

MAUPIN
Frances Lorena Maupin, 67, Sunrise Beach, died Sept. 12, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born April 11, 1932, in Texas County, a daughter or Robert I. and Lena Grace Stearns Taber.
She lived and worked in Kansas City from 1959 until moving to Sunrise Beach in 1993. She was a member of West Lake Christian Church, near Laurie.
Survivors include: one son, Eddie L. Maupin, Palatine, Ill.; one daughter, Brenda Lea Wood, Folsom, Calif.; one brother, John Taber, Oceanside, Calif; one sister, Betty Shaw, Mountain View; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Jack Daniel will officiate. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery near Fortuna.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

ORNBURN
Marjorie S. Ornburn, 73, Jefferson City, died Sept. 13, 1999, at her home.
She was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Prairie Hill, a daughter of Garnet F. and Frances I. Finnell James. She was married June 20, 1948, in Moberly, to Bryan Ornburn Jr., who survives at the home.
She was a lifelong resident of Central Missouri and a graduate of Moberly High School and Moberly Junior College, both in Moberly. She was employed at the Missouri State Treasurer's Office for 32 years until her retirement in 1988 as office account supervisor.
A resident of the Jefferson City area since 1948, she was a member of First Baptist Church; Order of the Eastern Star, Jefferson Chapter 496; the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees; and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Marsha Buckner, Jefferson City, and Connie Hamacher, Jefferson City; two sisters, Wilma Ancell, Clinton, and Betty Turner, Fulton; two brothers, Garnet James Jr., Memphis, Mo., and Homer James, Columbia; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Bob Webb will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, St. Louis, or to the oncology unit at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
PHILLIPS
Stanley J. Phillips, 85, Jefferson City, died Sept. 12, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Jan 6, 1914, in Brumley, a son of George C. and Dora Chamber Phillips. He was married Sept. 7, 1934, in Tuscumbia, to Gertrude Bilyeu, who died Jan. 2, 1999.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he attended school in Brumley. He owned and operated a machine shop for several years. Later, he owned and operated the Shady Rest Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks. He then worked as a machinist at Von Hoffmann Press, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the Highway 54 Church of Christ; the Jefferson City Bowling Association; and the Capital City Speedway Association. He was inducted into the Jefferson City Bowling Hall of Fame in 1997.
He is survived by one sister, Geneva White , Holts Summit.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary. Rick Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
