She is survived by two sons, Louis Allen Matkin of Farmington and Joe Matkin and wife Sarah of Rock Island, IL, by a daughter, Mary (Mrs. Larry) Boothby of Fredericktown, and by a grandchild, Lavonne Boothby. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bula was a homemaker. She was also a lifetime member of the Knob Lick Baptist Church. In her spare time, Bula enjoyed quilting, embroidery sewing, and visiting with shut-ins. Later in life she would exercise by walking two miles a day while picking up cans along the side of the road. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Mary Magdeline Lovvorn

At the age of 21 she married the late Thomas Robert (Bob) Burnette of Farmington on August 8, 1937. They had two children, Robert H. Burnette and Mary Katherine Decker. On December 22, 1961, Mary married Julius Lovvorn and they made their home at Doe Run, were she became a member of the Pendelton Baptist Church. Julius passed away in 1983, and then Mary moved to Sullivan, MO so she could be closer to her daughter. Mary had 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mary was baptized at the age of 14 at the First Baptist Church in Elvins. She went to school in Elvins until the family moved to Doe Run.

Albert Millis Foreman
February 24, 1908 - January 09, 2002
Farmington, MO

Interment: Moutray Family Cemetery in Steelville

He is survived by his wife, Vida (Moutray) Foreman, by a daughter, Lawana Wulfers and husband Leo of Cape Girardeau, by four sons, A. Roger Foreman and wife Jeanne of Ketchum, ID, Kenneth W. Foreman and wife Linda of Quincy, IL, Paul M. Foreman of Greenfield, MO, and Keith D. Foreman of Farmington, and by eleven grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren. He will be sadly missed, but we rejoice in his Victory in Jesus.

Mr. Foreman was a retired employee of Miller’s Mutual Insurance Company of Illinois. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington, where he had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Foreman was also instrumental in establishing and building the Knob Lick Baptist Church. He was a past alderman of Farmington and a past member of the Kiwanis Club. He served as a Scoutmaster and Scout Commissioner at Cape Girardeau for a number of years.

Memorials may be directed to the New Organ Fund at the First Baptist Church.

Georgia Lee Adams
February 25, 1935 - December 30, 2001
Coffman, MO

She is survived by her mother, Glenna (Bloom) Miller, by her husband John “Joe “ Adams, and by three daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Darrell) Preston of St. Mary, Linda (Mrs. Jesse) Boyer of Ste. Genevieve, and Vicki (Mrs. Stephen) Wade of Farmington, by four sons, Neal Adams and wife Vina, and John Adams and wife Peggy, all of Ste. Genevieve and Milton Adams and wife Donna, and Burton Adams and wife Tammy, all of Farmington, by one sister, Connie (Mrs. Bob) Watkins of Knob Lick, by four brothers, Dale Miller and wife Carolyn of the state of Florida, Gary Miller and wife Marilyn of Caledonia, Allan Ray Miller and wife Linda of Ste. Genevieve, and Richard Miller of St. Louis, and by seventeen grandchildren, and by four great-grandchildren. Many Nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends survive

Mrs. Adams retired from the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center after thirty years of employment. She was also a charter member of the Coffman Baptist Church.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Hospice Care, or to the family.

She survived by her husband, Roy William Boyd of Farmington, by a son, Michael Boyd and wife Linda of Dittmer, MO, by two daughters, Beverly Boyd of De Soto, and Deborah Smith of Park Hills, by a sister, Janet (Mrs. Gordon) Hill of Derbyshire, England, and by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Alice Mitchell Brewen
March 15, 1918 - March 20, 2002
Farmington, MO

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Brewen, by two daughters, Linda Schnurbusch of Independence, KS, and Sally (Mrs. Michael) Breuer of Alton, IL, by a brother, Kenneth Mitchell and wife Thelma of Park Hills, by five grandchildren, and by one great-grandchild. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mrs. Brewen was a homemaker and a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Memorial United Methodist Church.

Howard Melvin Brown
June 28, 1935 - March 28, 2002
Farmington, MO

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Jines) Brown, by a son, Anthony Kevin Brown of St. Louis, by a daughter, Kimberly (Mrs. Steve) Green of St. Louis, by a sister, Helen of St. Charles, by a special niece, Donna Northcutt of Wappapello, by former wife, Betty Thies of Fenton, and by five grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Mr. Brown was a retired truck driver of the Coca Cola Company and a member of the Teamsters Union of St. Louis.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the First Assembly of God church of Farmington.

Lillian H. Coffey
February 09, 1920 - March 27, 2002

She is survived by four sons, Alfred Coffey and wife Monica of Womack, Daniel Coffey of Piedmont, Bill Coffey of the home, Jack Coffey and wife Stephanie of Park Hills, by three daughters, Donna (Mrs. Doug) Carpenter of Doniphan, Martha Crump of Knob Lick, Doris (Mrs. Edward) Helm of Belle, MO, by four sisters, Levenia Wisdom of St. Louis, Flora Middlebrook of Vallyo, CA, Betty Wigger of Farmington, and Patricia Severs of Doniphan, and by 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Mrs. Coffey retired from Biltwell Industries in 1984. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

James Leo Davis
July 20, 1929 - March 30, 2002

He is survived by his wife, Martha (Baird) Davis, by a son, Bruce Baird and his wife Susan and their children, Becky, Jenny, and Luke, all of Ste. Genevieve; by four daughters, Karen (Mrs. Mark) Doerhoff of St. Louis and their son Steve, Kathy LaBerta of St. Louis and her daughter Abby, Kathy (Baird) Ransom and her husband Curt of Silex, MO, and their daughter Charly, and Jean Baird of Doe Run. He is also survived by a niece, Janet Davis of Dallas, TX, and her daughter Jennifer Tustin and husband James, by a nephew, Bill Davis and wife Pat, and their children, Eric and wife Danielle, and Rob, all of St. Louis.

He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army prior to and during the Korean War.

Before his retirement, he worked as a lithographer. In later years, he was employed at Wal-Mart as a greeter. James was a life-time member of VFW Post 5896, Amvets Post 113, and the American Legion Post 416, all of Farmington. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post No. 1 of St. Louis.

Memorials may be directed to the Christian Fellowship Church of Bonne Terre.

Charlotte Volk Dietrich
July 04, 1914 - March 31, 2002

She is survived by three nephews, Henry Miller and wife Elinor, Martin Miller, and Michael Miller, and by five nieces Margaret (Mrs. Dan) Karlin, Charlotte (Mrs. Neal) Zubriggen, Patricia (Mrs. John) Shea, Jacqueline (Mrs. Rudy) Sisk, and Sherry (Mrs. Robert) Lord.

Before her retirement, she had worked as a grocery store owner for many years. She was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also a long-time member of Sertoma, a women’s business organization and many charitable organizations.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Lowell Otto Hafner
March 15, 1934 - March 20, 2002
Park Hills, MO

He was a devoted loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hafner, by three sons, Steven Hafner and wife Jill of Cabool, MO, Bruce Hafner and wife Lisa of Troy, IL, and Brian Hafner and wife Becky of Park Hills, by two daughters, Rosemary Townsend and husband Vern of Altoona, IA, and Lila Barnett and husband Richard of Leadwood, by a brother, Richard Hafner and wife Mary of Farmington, by 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends also survive.

He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1956.

Before his retirement, Mr. Hafner worked at McDonnell-Douglas. He was a member of the Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church at Bonne Terre.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Eugene Hammers
August 21, 1931 - March 22, 2002
Farmington, MO

Interment: Lutheran Cemetery at Farmington

He is survived by his wife Glenda Hammers, by a brother, Jessie Hammers and wife Betty, by three sisters, Bonnie Thompson and husband Gene, Eileen Watkins and husband Jim all of Farmington, and Janet Lawson of Desloge. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Before his retirement, Mr. Hammers was the superintendent at the Trimfoot Shoe Company where he had worked for 30 years.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
