Michael Lynn Dealy of Farmington passed away on March 18, 2003, at the St. Louis University Hospital at the age of 52 years. He was born on August 13, 1950, in Boise, Idaho, the son of Adis Jordan and the late Walter Joe Dealy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Roberts. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Marie (Gibson) Dealy, a son, Jody Dealy of Hermitage, MO, two daughters, Tonya Moore of Ash Grove, MO and Nicole Dealy of Springfield, MO, two brothers, Cliff Jordan of Clinton, MO, and Allen Jordan of Hermitage, MO, two sisters, Cathy Mayberry also of Hermitage, MO and Arlene Fitzpatrick of Bolivar, MO, by a step-son, Aaron LaRose of Farmington, and by three grandchildren. Other relatives also survive.

Mr. Dealy was manager of Pepsi Americas. He was very active in our community. He was involved with the Farmington Chamber of Commerce, Country Days, the Farmington Elks Lodge No. 1765, and countless other organizations, charities, ball teams, kids events and more. He will be truly missed.

Dora Shunk
September 20, 1913 - March 17, 2003
Farmington, Missouri

Dora Mae Shunk of Farmington passed away on March 17, 2003, at her residence at the age of 89 years. She was born on September 20, 1913, at Nevada, MO, the daughter of the late Rush and Lizzie (Hawkins) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, a granddaughter, Shirley Hafley, a step-daughter, Edna Harbison, and a step-grandson, Joe Shunk, Jr. She is survived by three daughters, Violet (Mrs. Tom) Pinkston of Bonne Terre, Ruth (Mrs. Terry) Effan of Park Hills, and Doris (Mrs. Edward) Powell of Doe Run, a step-son, Joe Shunk and wife Dixie of Ironton, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild.

Before her retirement, Ms. Shunk worked for the State Hospital as a hospital attendant. She attended the First Baptist Church of Farmington and loved her church very much.

Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church Nursery Fund, the AmHeart Hospice, or to the Aulsbury Chapel Church Carpet Fund.

Joseph Patrick O'Hara, Jr.
February 06, 1930 - March 12, 2003
Farmington, Missouri

He is survived by his wife, Margery J. (Lewis) O’Hara of Farmington, by two daughters, Corey (Mrs. Steven) Neitz of O’Fallon, and Sally Martin of Fairview , OK, by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Numerous friends also survive.

Mr. O’Hara enlisted immediately after high school and proudly served his nation with the United States Marine Corps at the end of World War II and during the Korean War. He also served during the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force and retired as a Staff Sergeant.

Mr. O’Hara worked at the Farmington Correctional Center and retired as a Captain. He was a member of the VFW Post #5896 and the American Legion Post 416.

Mary Frances Pender

Mary Frances Pender of Farmington passed away on June 20, 2003, at the Presbyterian Manor at the age of 80 years. She was bon on May 14, 1923, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Howard and Augusta (Frye) Moehlman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Levi Pender and granddaughter, Brooke Pettus. She was married to Levi J. Pender in 1943. During the early years of marriage, she worked for the Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis, while Levi served in the U.S. Army. In 1948, Levi and Mary Frances moved to a rowcrop and cattle farm near Bloomfield, MO. In 1963, after the arrival of four children and addition of several acres of adjacent farmland, they purchased the Willard Yeager farm on Turley Mill Road. In 1976, they retired from farming and moved to Wycliffe Acres near Farmington. Mary Frances was a devoted mother, dedicated homemaker and farm wife. Her love of sports was only exceeded by her love for her husband, children and grandchildren. Her life-long goal of providing her children with career options was realized through her perseverance in the education of her children. She is survived by four children, Stephen and wife, Ethel of Alberton, MT, Donna Pettus and husband Ronnie of Bonne Terre, Jeanne Pender of Festus, and Kevin Pender of Houston, TX, by four grandchildren, Corey and Stephen Pettus of Bonne Terre, Sean and Stephanie Pender of Seattle, WA, by two brothers Donald and Vernon Moehlman, of Farmington, and two sisters, Judy (Mrs. Ed) Moeller, and Carolyn (Mrs. Don) Nash, both of St. Louis.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to HospiceCare, Inc.

Mary Moore

Mary Alice Moore is survived by a son, John D. Moore and wife Rosy of Austin, TX, by two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Art) Laird of Park Hills, Pamela (Mrs. Sid) Gerlach of Cape Girardeau, by two brothers, Virgil Green and Marvin Green, by three sisters, Dorothy Rutan, Mickey McCallister, and Norman Green, all of the State of Indiana, by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mary liked keeping busy. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing and crochet, baking, watching baseball on television, and going to Wal-Mart. But most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jonah Hooss Huey, infant son of Natasha Hooss and Joseph Huey, passed away on June 15, 2003, at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Gene and Vickie Hooss of Farmington, Janice Pickens of St. Charles, and Bill Huey of Barnhart, and aunt, Natalie Hooss of Farmington, and three uncles, Jimmy, Jason, and Jake Huey all of Barnhart.

Richard Lee Hafley
January 24, 1933 - June 14, 2003

Richard Lee Hafley of Farmington passed away on June 14, 2003, at his residence at the age of 70 years. He was born on January 24, 1933, at St. Louis, the son of Louise Sturm Hafley Beeson and the late Marvin Lee Hafley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Elaine Hafley and by a brother, Marvin Bruce Hafley. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Regina Goedel Hafley, by seven sons, Richard Hafley of Desloge, Kevin and Jeffrey Hafley both of the home, Keith Hafley and wife Clarissa of Iron Mountain Lake, Mark Hafley of Farmington, Michael Hafley of Doe Run, and Reginald Hafley of Fredericktown, by two daughters, Robin Hafley of Farmington and Teresa Montgomery of Fredericktown, by twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He proudly served his nation with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Before his retirement, Mr. Hafley worked at the General Motors Assembly Plant in St. Louis. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing.

Lucille Mae Nicholson of Farmington passed away on June 11, 2003, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 78 years. She was born on May 24, 1925, at Flat River, the daughter of the late Edgar Albert and Ora (Mangold) Killian. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Russell Nicholson, two sons, Russell Wayne “Peanuts” Nicholson and Andrew Mark Nicholson, a daughter, Joann Sutton, and three brothers, Woodrow, Clyde, and James Killian. She is survived by five sons, Vernon R. Nicholson and wife Paula, Carl D. Nicholson “Spooky” and wife Marcia, Roger Dale “Fuzzy” Nicholson and wife Carla, Daniel L. Nicholson and wife Denise all of Farmington, and Thomas H. Nicholson and wife Mary of Fredericktown, four daughters, Clara (Mrs. Jim) Triplett of Desloge, Alice Marie (Mrs. Patrick) Arment of Colorado Springs, CO, Kathleen G. Nicholson, and Kimberly J. (Mrs. David) Miller both of Farmington, two sisters, Norma Bolding of Jonesboro, AR and Bobbie (Mrs. John) Mead of Bonnor, MT, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mrs. Nicholson was a homemaker, raised her family and worked at various nursing homes. She was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Mamie Marie Fleming of Bonne Terre passed away on June 8, 2003, at her residence at the age of 79 years. She was born on March 13, 1924, at Bismarck, the daughter of the late William Robert and Lula Elizabeth (Wampler) Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Fleming, a daughter, Wilma Turner, an infant son, and three step-sons, Kin (Jube) Hammers, Lonnie Turner, and Louie Turner, three brothers, William Scott, Leman Scott, and Fred Scott, two sisters, Ruby Abney and Ida Benton. She leaves behind her loving family of 10 children, fives sons, Robert Turner and wife Ralene of Riverside, CA, Richard St. John and wife Deb of Fredericktown, Melb McCormick and wife Becky of the State of Indiana, Michael Renfro of the State of Florida, and Donnie Lewis and wife Connie of the State of Illinois, five daughters, Rosella Wilson of Desloge, Betty Edgar of Farmington, Debra Carew of Bonne Terre, Lana (Mrs. Jack) Jackson, and Fay Watson both of the State of Indiana, 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, friends, and a very special caregiver, Ida Mccarron also survive.

Mary L. Detring of Desloge passed away on June 5, 2003, at NHC HealthCare at the age of 78 years. She was born on December 31, 1924, at Flat River, the daughter of the late Johnie and Mabel (Heberlie) Tessereau. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Norman Detring, a brother, Walter G. Tessereau, and two sisters, Lillian Mae Brogoto and Betty Jean Stewart. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Norman Detring, two sisters, Leanna (Mrs. Eugene) Williams of Farmington and Alma (Mrs. Jerry) Lewis of Universal City, TX, two brother-in-laws, Ralph Detring and wife Dorothy of Libertyville, and Gary Detring and wife Gayle of Bismarck. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mrs. Detring was a homemaker. She was a member of the Farmington Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She loved her home, church and enjoyed traveling.

Robert Dale Haldaman of Ste. Genevieve County passed away on May 24, 2003, at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 63 years. He was born on February 3, 1940, at Iron Mountain, MO, the son of Oliver Haldaman and the late Mildred (McGeorge) Monks. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann Haldaman, and a sister, Betty Haldaman. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Haldaman, three sons, Robert Haldaman of the State of Missouri, Richard Marcus of St. Louis, Michael of Ste. Geneveive, three daughters, Linda Calloway of the State of Texas, Lisa Bryant of the State of Iowa, Tonya Monks of Arnold, two brothers, Gerald Monks and Ronald Monks, two sisters, Judy and Rita, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Before his retirement, Mr. Haldaman was a self-employed mechanic.

Jack Lawrence Cash

Jack Lawrence Cash of Farmington passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at his residence at the age of 76 years. He was born on December 16, 1926, at Picher, OK, the son of the late George J. and Goldie (Demier) Cash. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bernie and Cecil James Cash and a sister, Charlotte Lucille Welker. He is survived by his loving wife of five years, Jessie (Barron) Cash, a daughter, Brenda Lashley of Fredericktown, three step-daughters, Mary Queen of Park Hills, Janet (Mrs. Robert) Williams and Karen Bell, both of Farmington, twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Toby. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.

Jack retired from Weber Construction after many long years. He enjoyed building things. He added a back porch, cabinets, and an extra bathroom to the home he and Jessie shared and enjoyed making flower beds for Jessie. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Farmington. and served as a Trustee on the Board for twenty years. He helped with the building of two additions to the church and did numerous repairs and improvements, leaving his mark on many areas of the church. They loved their church and traveling together when they could. During the Korean Conflict he served his country with the U.S. Army. He will be truly missed.
