Elsa Elizabeth Ida Wallis Fisher of Sunset Hills, MO, formerly of Farmington, passed away on July 1, 2004, at the Peace Haven Care Center at the age of 100 years. She was born on January 4, 1904, in Wellston, MO, the daughter of the late Otto and Margaretha (Kern) Wallis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lance Fischer, five siblings, Otto “C.H.” Wallis, Amanda C. Mosley, Hilda W. Norwood, Harold John and Oscar Wallis, and two great-nephews, Gary and John Haefner. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Geraldine Haefner and Arthur Mosley of St. Louis, Harold Wallis of Ste. Genevieve, Donna Newland of Independence, a step-grandchild J.C. Dillion of Kirkwood, and 19 great nieces and nephews, Barbara Simon, Connie Lee Hall, Debbie Wade, Kitty Kelly, Kathy White, Joan Pinette, Michael and Joseph Haefner, Briggette Lanigan, Desiree Henderson, Arthur III and Brett Mosley, James Wallis, Robyn Dettmer, Jason Wallis, Daniel Kieran, and Nicole Newland. Numerous great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Fischer was an antique dealer in the Farmington area for many years. She was a member of the Kirkwood First Church of Christ Scientists and active in the Farmington First Church of Christ Scientists as the soloist. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Stella Vivian Corgan

Stella Vivian Corgan of Farmington passed away on June 29, 2004, at Presbyterian Manor, at the age of 82 years. She was born on February 14, 1922 in Bragg City, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Corgan, one son, Robert W. Corgan, II, and two grandsons, Robert W. Corgan, III and Jason W. Callahan. Mrs. Corgan leaves behind six loving daughters, Betty (Mrs. James E.) Leach of Florissant, Virginia (Mrs. Dale) Brown of Van Buren, Linda (Mrs. Charles) Wilson of Pilot Knob, Brenda (Mrs. Richard) Smick of Van Buren, Martha Callahan of Farmington, Sharon (Mrs. Bob) Milam of Desloge, one sister, Rosa Whitmore of Pacific, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Corgan also leaves her deeply devoted friend and companion, Floyd Hager of Farmington.

Mrs. Corgan worked in retail sales for many years and later started her own antique business which she ran successfully for over 20 years. She resided in Farmington for 25 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Joseph Wills
September 29, 1922 - June 28, 2004
Festus, Missouri

Interment: Parkview Cemetery

Joseph Charles Wills was the son of the late Anton and Marie (Buckmiller) Wills. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Wills, two brothers, Johnny Wills and Anton Wills, Jr., and two sisters, Margaret Marie Johnson and Katherine Wills. He is survived by his wife, Lydia (Quillman) Wills, one daughter, Katherine M. and Steve Busch of Wildwood, one grandson, Jack Busch, of Wildwood, and a brother Martin Wills of Leadwood. Also surviving are several step-children, step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mr. Wills proudly served his country with the U. S. Army in World War II. He was a truck driver for over 30 years and a member of the Teamsters Union Local #600.

Lawrence "Pete" Nash was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Oma (Dixon) Nash. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (Johnson) Nash, one brother and two sisters. He is survived by three daughters, Janice Bell of Rolla, Robin Morris of Roselle, and Sam Neubaurer of Farmington, four sisters, Ruby, Betty, Rose and Sue, all of Rolla, a very special friend, Norma Jones of Iron Mountain Lake, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.

Before his retirement, Mr. Nash had worked for 38 years for the Street Department of the City of Farmington. He had been a member of the Missouri National Guard.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Richard Shelton
March 30, 1933 - June 27, 2004

Richard Eugene Shelton was the son of the late George and Irene (Hull) Shelton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Lockwood. He is survived by his wife, Edwardine (Lynch) Shelton, two daughters -- Sheri and husband Bill Penning of Cuba; Tina and husband Leroy Krewson, of St. James; and son -- Michael Shelton and wife Debbie of Cuba; two brothers, Raymond Shelton and wife Louise; Robert Shelton and wife Carol. Numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Edward Sheets
October 25, 1950 - June 26, 2004
Farmington, Missouri

Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. June 29, 2004 at Cozean Memorial Chapel
Edward Sheets was the son of the late Beauford Earl and Pearl Katherine (Moranville) Sheets. Mr. Sheets worked for St. Johns Mercy Medical Center as a Specialty Welder. He is survived by two daughters, Kasie Marie Sheets and Lillie Katherine Sheets, sister, Linda Sheets of Columbia, two brothers, Donald William Sheets of Lansing, MI, and Robert Earl Sheets of Corona, CA, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Cozean Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30. Memorials may be directed to the Sheets Children Scholarship Fund.

Harry D. Jennings
February 11, 1920 - June 20, 2004

Harry D. Jennings of Farmington passed away on June 20, 2004, at Des Peres Hospital, at the age of 84 years. He was born on February 11, 1920, at Farmington, the son of the late George and Pearl (Anderson) Jennings. He was also preceded in death by his son, Carl Jennings, and a grandson, Shane Lewis. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Shirrell of Pevely, and Martha and husband Tom Lewis of Redmond, OR, a sister, Virginia Bray of Doe Run, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, an aunt, Leah Burnett of Farmington, a niece, Jeanne Bray, and a nephew, Sonny Bray.

Mr. Jennings served his country proudly with the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II. He served with Company F of the 85th Mt Infantry. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for the campaign at No Apennines Po Valley, a good Conduct Medal and a Bronze Star Medal GO 135 Hq 10th Mt Inf 19, July 1945. He also received a European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon and 1 Overseas Bar.

Before his retirement, he had been employed by Weber Construction Company. He was a lifetime member of Carpenters Union Local #2214.

Patrick Austin Windsor
March 17, 1936 - June 18, 2004

Patrick Austin Windsor of Florissant, formerly of Farmington, passed away on June 18, 2004, at the age of 68 years. He was born on March 17, 1936, at Boonville,MO, the son of the late Raymond Leo and Rose Mae (Robinson) Windsor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Wenona Frey. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hacke) Windsor, two daughters, Lisa Clark and Rebecca Hawthorn both of Ste. Genevieve, two step-daughters, Jennifer Morey of the State of Illinois and Michelle Bircher of Florissant, two brothers, Ralph and Donald Windsor, three sisters, Mary Hawkins, Mildred Bauman, and Hattie French, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Mr. Windsor retired from Boeing. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy.

Elliott Lee Simmons of Fredericktown, formerly of Salem, passed away on June 15, 2004, at his residence, at the age of 83 years. He was born on June 21, 1920, at Fort Benton, Montana, the son of the late Elliott Monroe and Mabel Agnes (Reichelt) Simmons. He was also preceded in death by son, Ronald Simmons, and daughter, Connie Sue Simmons. He is survived by his daughter, Katharine Ringering and husband Charles of Farmington, sister, Margaret Twesten of the State of Iowa, grandson, Jay Ringering and wife Julie of Litchfield, IL, five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Shayna, Brendan, William and Katharine, nephew, Dale Twesten and niece, Debora Fleming, both of the State of Iowa, and special caregiver, Iris Paul of Fredericktown.

He served his country with the United States Navy in World War II.

He worked for several years at the Bank of Salem. He retired as a postal worker with the U. S. Postal Service.

Betty Jean Lepp of Ironton passed away on June 15, 2004, at Lone Pine Congregate Center, at the age of 75 years. She was born on June 12, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of the late Elmer and Grace (Rosenberg) Lepp. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Frank, formerly of Stanton, CA and Charlotte Cetto, formerly of Franklin, PA. She is survived by her friends at Lone Pine Congregate Center.

Lawrence Jenkins

Lawrence Jenkins of Farmington passed away June 10, 2004 at his residence. He was born on November 3, 1936, at Annapolis, MO, the son of the late Raymond and Helen(Sutton) Jenkins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Bean. He is survived by his wife, Clyda Jenkins, one daughter, Sandy Anderson of Park Hills, by one son Larry Jenkins of Perryville, MO, seven grandchildren, Garry, Douglas, and Scott Anderson, BJ, Justin, and Lacee Jenkins, and Jason Bean, five great- grandchildren, Kimberly, Douglas, Paige, and Lauren Anderson, and Megan Kern. He is also survived by a sister, Loretta (Mrs. Richard) Kohl of St. Louis. Several other relatives and friends survive.

Lawrence served his country with the US Army. He was a retired Engineer with the American Commercial Barge Line, was a member of the Foothills Car Club and the American Legion of Cahokia, IL.
