DAVIS

Wiley C. Davis, 78, Columbia, died Oct. 8, 1999, at Williamsburg.

He was born May 13, 1921, in Hickory Hill, a son of Edwin and Maude Carrender Davis. He was married May 25, 1970, in Pittsfield, Ill., to Golden Mills, who survives at the home.

He attended school in  Jefferson City. He worked as a chef at Breiches Restaurant, Hathman House, Ramada Inn and Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Oakland Christian Church.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Linda K. Bartholomew, Pewaukee, Wis., and Wylitta Hardwick, Tuscola, Ill.; two stepsons, Dusty Hehmann, Sacramento, Calif., and Gene Hehmann, Springfield; two stepdaughters, Kandyce Alexander, St. James, and Brenda Nolte, Columbia; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia. The Rev. Greg Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, 1121 Business Loop 70 E., Columbia, Mo. 65201.

GOLDSBERRY

Nile Goldsberry, 68, Linn Creek, died Oct. 7, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital.

He was born May 27, 1931, in Linn Creek, a son of Albert L. and Ila Stamper Goldsberry. He was married March 16, 1955, in Linn Creek, to Alice Hanson, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of Camden County, he was a painter. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Linn Creek VFW.

Other survivors include: four sons, Rocky Goldsberry, Mountain Grove, Rod Goldsberry, Ronnie Goldsberry and Robin Goldsberry, all of Linn Creek; one daughter, Rosey Baines, Linn Creek; four brothers, Jim Goldsberry, Kenny Goldsberry, Keith Goldsberry and Wilburt Goldsberry, all of Linn Creek; two sisters, Lucille Sisto, Stoutland, and Bonnie Hollas, Greenview; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. at Allee-Reed Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick Ginnings will officiate. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, Linn Creek.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

MARKS

Patricia Ruth Marks, 53, Moberly, died Oct. 8, 1999, at her home.

She was born Nov. 22, 1945, in Moberly, a daughter of Carl and Doris E. Roberts Willman, who survive in Moberly. she was married April 15, 1994, in Moberly, to Doyle W. Marks, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate of Moberly Junior College and West Texas A & M University. She was a computer specialist for the state of Missouri in  Jefferson City. She had previously worked in the same capacity in Tennessee and Kentucky. She had also been a computer information specialist for Diamond Shamrock in Texas and Kerr-McGee in  Oklahoma City, Okla. She was a member of the Moberly Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Other survivors include: one son, Derrick France, Amarillo, Texas ; one daughter, Deborah Dawn Bissette,  Oklahoma City; one sister, Dr. Carol Ann Mohney, Plano, Texas ; two stepsons, Tom Marks and Jon Marks, both of Houston, Texas ; and six grandchildren.

She was cremated under the direction of Million-Taylor-Patton Funeral Home, Moberly.

Memorials are suggested to the Moberly Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, 1408 N. Morley, Moberly, Mo. 65270.

SCHMITT

Mildred Marie Schmitt, 74, Tipton, died Oct. 7, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born March 15, 1925, in New Franklin, a daughter of Urban and Lillie Wesselman Schmitt.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the altar society. She volunteered for St. Marys Health Center for many years. She was employed with the Department of Corrections.

She is survived by two sisters, Irene Wolf and Lillian Draffen, both of Tipton, and one brother, Urban Schmitt Jr., Sedalia.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Fr. Henry Reichert will officiate. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew's Church or school.

SMITH

Phillip Hampton Smith, 85, Sedalia, died Oct. 8, 1999, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Benton County, a son of Phillip P. and Cora June Campbell Smith.

He farmed and worked for eight years at the Research Building for Parkhurst in Sedalia. A musician, he was a member of Mount Hulda Lutheran Church, Benton County.

Survivors include: one son, John Phillip Smith, Sedalia; two daughters, Barbara Suzanne Bock, Alma, and Dianne Peck, Cole Camp; one sister, Hazel Glenn Monsees, Stover; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the Shiloah Cemetery.

MANTLE

Dale Richard Mantle, 51, Linn, died Oct. 8, 1999, near Linn, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

He was born Feb. 26, 1948, in Linn, a son of Everett and Viola Sieg Mantle. He was married Oct. 8, 1993, in Linn, to Tricia V. McIntosh, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Linn R-2 High School and Lincoln University. He was the custodial supervisor at Fatima High School in Westphalia for the last 15 years. A former teacher at Linn R-2, he was a member of the school's National Honor Society.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Shawnda Mantle,  Jefferson City, Tammy Mantle, Columbia, and Christy Mantle, Warrensburg; one stepson, Anthony Riggins, state of California; three stepdaughters, Angela Brand,  Jefferson City, Debbie Fain, Linn, and Cherie Warren, St. Louis; two brothers, Harold Mantle, Linn, and Renard Mantle,  Jefferson City; three sisters, Zelda Backues and Pam Green, both of Linn, and Renilda Howard, Vienna; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Mantle.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. Elder Rodney Rieke will officiate. Burial will be in the R.L.D.S. Cemetery, Linn.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Osage County Food Pantry.

SIMMONS

Evelyn L. Simmons, 65, Roach, died October 8, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 24, 1934, in Mason City, Iowa, a daughter of Henry and Love Trees White .

She was a homemaker and a member of Ozark Bethel Chapel Assembly of God Church in Roach.

Survivors include: three sons, Douglas White , Thayer, Iowa, Keith Tiggemann, Linn Creek, and Scott Tuey, Springfield; five daughters, Rebecca Smith, Edgemont, Ark., YaVonne Henthorne and Lona Pattorff, both of Climax Springs, Renee Patton, Roach, and Lawana Marion, Camdenton; one brother, James White , Roach; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Pastor Debbie Parks will officiate. Burial will be in the White -Crainsaw Cemetery, Climax Springs.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

WIEBERG

Edwin Wieberg, 79, St. Ann, formerly of Argyle, died Oct. 8, 1999, at St. Mary's Health Center, St. Louis.

He was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Argyle, a son of Emil and Mary Kampeter Wieberg.

He worked as a truck driver and in the building construction trade until he became disabled in an accident in 1943. He was a member of St. Kevin Catholic Church, St. Ann.

Survivors include: four brothers, Leander Wieberg, Union, Walter Wieberg and Ambrose Wieberg, both of Argyle, and Cletus Wieberg, Grand Prairie, Texas ; and two sisters, Loretta Schaffer, Overland, and Odilia Wieberg, Argyle.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. The Rev. Mike Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

WILSON

Clyde Lester Wilson, 72, Montreal, died Oct. 9, 1999, at his home.

He was born April 27, 1927, in Granite City, Ill., a son of Edward A. and Ola Ethel Manning Wilson. He was married to Doris Marshall, who survives at the home.

A former resident of Rocky Mount and Granite City, he was a commercial electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Shrine of Granite City. He was a Baptist and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Connie Sheriff, Granite City; one brother, Ed Wilson, Point, Texas ; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Don Young will officiate. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Montreal.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

VANDELICHT

Glen Dean Vandelicht, 63, Lake Ozark, died Oct. 9, 1999, at the Medical Center of  Louisiana/Charity Hospital, New Orleans.

He was born May 7, 1936, in Steedman, a son of Walter L. and Nelda K. Schmidt Vandelicht. He was married Aug. 22, 1959, in  Jefferson City, to Marlene E. Shafer, who survives at the home.

A graduate of Mokane High School, Mokane, he received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was a registered professional engineer.

He was employed by Mississippi Valley Structural Steel and McCarty Brothers Construction Co. He currently was Commissioner of School Buildings for the St. Louis public schools.

A former  Jefferson City area resident, he was a member of Central United Church of Christ, the United States Pilots Association and the University of Missouri Alumni Association. He was a member and past officer of the Missouri Pilots Association.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Dee Morrow, Columbia, and Susan Kay Richard, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Walter Vandelicht,  Jefferson City, and Gary Vandelicht, Tebbetts; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Buescher Memorial Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Pilots Association Educational Endowment Fund, in care of Albert Werner, 6408 Willow Ave., Raytown, Mo. 65133-5212.
