BEVERLY R. CRUMRINE

Beverly Ruth Crumrine, 76, Independence, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Crumrine was born Jan 12, 1922, in Kansas City. She worked for Hi Boy in Independence for more than 30 years.

Her survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lyle Crumrine of the home; one daughter, Linda Hays, Holden, Mo.; two brothers, Glenn Zeller, Venice, Fla., and Wilford Zeller, Pedley, Calif.; one sister, Doris Shields, Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee`s Summit. Burial will be in Lee`s Summit cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

JOHN C. DAWDY

John Charles Dawdy, 92, Raytown, formerly of Independence, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, at the Hidden Lake Care Center, Raytown.

Mr. Dawdy was born Oct. 23, 1906, in Arrington, Kan., and had lived in the Independence area most of his life. He was a traffic manager for the Cook Paint and Varnish Co. in Kansas City before he retired. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II, and was a member of the Traffic and Transportation

Club of Kansas City, American Association of Retired Persons and the Middle West Manx Society.

His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Erma Dawdy; three nephews, Glenn Butler, Effingham, Kan., Tom Dawdy, Millbrae, Calif., and Jim Dawdy, California; and several grandnieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette`s Catholic Church, 9020 E. 51st St. Terrace, Kansas City. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Raytown. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Carson Blue Ridge Chapel, where a rosary wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

FOREST J. POLLARD

Forest J. Pollard, 76, Independence, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Pollard was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Independence, and he was a lifetime resident of Independence. He was a 1941 graduate of William Chrisman High School. He owned and operated Pollard Construction Co. for many years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

His survivors include his wife, Patricia Pollard of the home; a daughter, Kathleen Turner, Grain Valley; a son, Michael F. Pollard, Cameron, Mo.; stepchildren, Steven Constable, Chris Constable, both of Edwards, Mo., and Deena Flippin, St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister, Alice Newhard, Independence; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Speaks Midtown Chapel, Independence. Private graveside services will be Monday. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the Primitive Baptist Church, 18400 R.D. Mize Road, Independence, Mo. 64057.

J. "MARK" PRINDLE

J. "Mark" Prindle, 41, Buckner, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at the Independence Regional Health Center.

Mr. Prindle was born in Kansas City, and lived in Buckner for 20 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was employed at the Missouri Public Service in Sibley, Mo., as an operator for the past 19 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna L. Burrgett in 1991.

His survivors include his father and mother, Wilford and Doris Prindle, Buckner; a sister, Debbie Harrell, Richardson, Texas; two brothers, Ron Prindle, Bryan, Texas, and Charles Prindle, Saugus, Calif.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at New Salem Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem cemetery Association. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

PAULINE E. ROSS

Pauline E. Ross, 77, Raytown, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at St. Lukes Hospital.

Ms. Ross was born March 27, 1921, in Hurdland, Mo. She worked as a waitress and cook for more than 20 years at Fox's Drug Store, retiring in 1998.

Her survivors include two sons, Ron Ross, Raytown, and Pat Ross, Athens, Texas; two daughters, Jane King, Houston, Texas, and Linda Hamm, Independence; two sisters, Virginia Jaiser, Kansas City, and Beulah Markham, Kirksville, Mo.; one brother, James Dore, Raytown; sixteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

BRENDA GAY WILSON

Brenda Gay Wilson, 54, Independence, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at the Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Wilson was born May 10, 1944, in Hernshaw, W. Va., and lived in the Independence area since 1962. She was a department manager at Katz Drug Store for more than 15 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Sheffield Family Life Center.

Her survivors include her husband, James Wilson of the home; a daughter, Lynn Pagitt, Kansas City; a son, Shawn Wilson, Ft. Binning, Ga.; three sisters, Karen Loveall, Warsaw, Mo., Lora Stark, Tucson, Ariz., and Dian LaBarbara, Cross Lanes, W. Va.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Sheffield Family Life Center.

GREGORY W. WOODS

Gregory Wallace Woods, 50, Sugar Creek, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998.

Mr. Woods was born in Willmar, Minn., and had lived in the Independence area since 1954. He graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1965. He had been a police officer with the Independence Police Department since 1979. He had previously been an officer with Jackson County and Dade County, Fla. He had been a Master Sergeant in the Marines and had served and was wounded in Vietnam. His military awards include the Navy Unit Commendation, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Meritorious Commendation Medal with one Palm, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He had been a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America and had been a Boy Scout leader since 1981 and had earlier been a Cub Scout Master. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a deacon in the church. He was also a member and deacon at the Pleasant View Christian Church in Independence.

His survivors include a son, Timothy Wallace Woods, Raytown; two daughters, Diana Sue Molzahn, Lee's Summit, and Wendy Lynette Woods, Kansas City; his parents, Wilbur Wallace and Gloria Jean Woods, Independence; two brothers, Thomas Allen Woods, Roseburg, Ore., and Gary Lee Woods, Independence; two sisters, Nancy Beth Goans, Independence, and Barbara Jean Garrison, Shawnee, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, Cheyenna, Tierney, Christopher, Leah, Courtney, Andrew and Hunter.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Salem cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Fraternal Order of Police, Gregory Woods Memorial Fund, 18300 E. Missouri 78, Independence, Mo. 64057.

GRACE E. HANCHETT

Grace E. Hanchett, 79, of Independence, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at the Independence Health Care Center.

Mrs. Hanchett was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Independence. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hanchett.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Paul Wright, Odessa; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Marcia Loewer, Tehachapi, Calif.; a brother, Bill "Art" Wilson, Independence; three grandsons, Steve, Jeff and Ted Wright; two granddaughters, Karen Cervantes and Debbie Allen; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the chapel.

JEFFERY WAYNE LEMKEN

Jeffery Wayne Lemken, 43, Kansas City, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Vencor Hospital in Kansas City.

Mr. Lemkin was born July 2, 1955, in Kansas City.

Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Young, and granddaughter, Kayla Crowder, both of Deepwater, Mo.; three brothers, Richard Lemken, Peculiar, Mo., David Lemken, Houston, Texas, and James L. Lemken, Raytown, Mo.; and two sisters, Beverly Rheuport, Prairie Village, Kan., and Kimberly Johnson, Independence, Mo.

Memorial services are pending. Arrangements are being handled by Park Lawn Funeral Home, Kansas City, Mo.

JEANNE PATRICK

Jeanne Patrick, 69, of Independence, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Patrick was born April 2, 1929, in Mineral Point, Mo. She worked for the Canteen Corp. and retired from WATCO MFG. She was a member of Imanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceeded in death by her son, Richard L. Force in 1966.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Patrick of the home; a daughter, Linda Snider, Independence; a stepdaughter, Judy Patrick, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Donald Strickland, Marion, Ill.; a sister, Leta Lawson, Viburnum, Mo.; a grandson, Matthew Riley; and two step-grandsons, Kelly and Jason Snider.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at George C. Carson and Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

BENJAMIN E. TILLY

Benjamin E. "Ben" Tilly, 80, Wellington, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Mr. Tilly was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Morrison, Mo. , and was a lifelong resident of Wellington. He was a farmer and a member of the American Association of Retired persons and the Missouri Cattlemen's Association. He was also a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Church and its Builders Sunday school class.

His survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Niendick, Wellington, and Elaine White, Blue Springs; two sons, Larry Tilly and Wayne Tilly, both of Wellington; a brother, Alvin Tilly, Higginsville, Mo.; four sisters, Norma Kronshage, Napoleon, Mo., Alberta Beissenherz, Wellington, Ann Ahmann, Odessa, and Doris Alumbaugh, Raytown; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Evangelical Church, Wellington. Burial will be in St. Luke's cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Snow Funeral Home, Wellington.

HAZEL I. SHORT

Hazel Ilene Summers Chase Short, 79, Wellington, Mo., died Tuesday, July 21, 1998, at St. Mary`s Hospital of Blue Springs.

Mrs. Short was born June 26, 1919, in Bloomfield, Iowa, and had lived in Wellington most of her life. She was a homemaker, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellington, American Association of Retired Persons and T.O.P.S. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis Chase and Edwin T. Short, and one daughter, Ruth Paris.

Her survivors include three sons, Louis S. Chase, Odessa, Jerry Chase, Independence, and Michael Chase, Oak Grove; two daughters, Retha M. Beebe, Lawrence, Kan., and Darlene Blevins, Wellington; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Wellington City cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Snow Funeral Home, Wellington. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

WAYNE L. JAMESON

Wayne Leroy Jameson, 71, Lake Tapawingo, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Jameson was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been employed as maintenance supervisor for the City of Independence Power and Light for 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was active as a Cub Master and coached YMCA flag football and basketball. He was on the Board of Directors of the Public Utilities. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

His survivors include his wife, Marilyn Jo of the home; six sons, Ed Jameson and Timothy Jameson, both of St. Paul, Minn., Danny Jameson, Stillwater, Minn., Karl Jameson and Joe Jameson, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and Kevin Jameson, Lake Tapawingo; two brothers, John Jameson, Independence, and Dr. Robert Jameson, San Diego, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four nieces; and many other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the RLDS Stone Church. Burial will be in the Mound Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel.

DONALD H. NUSSBAUM

Donald H. Nussbaum, 80, Independence, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at Regency Care Center.

Mr. Nussbaum was born in Verdon, Neb. He had been a milk bottler for 15 years for Fairmount Dairies, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church.

His survivors include his wife, Arlene D. Nussbaum of the home; two sons, Jerry D. Nussbaum, Oak Grove, and William J. Nussbaum, Buckner; a sister, Margaret Gerlt, Falls City, Neb.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, 700 Blue Ridge Boulevard. Burial will be in New Salem cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Mount Calvary United Methodist Nursery School Building Fund.

CLIFFORD P. SMITH

Clifford P. Smith, 79, Raytown, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Independence and was a lifelong area resident. He was a Master Sergeant, serving in World War II and during the Korean War. He retired in 1981 from Southwestern Bell after 35 years. He was a 50-year member of McDonald Masonic Lodge 324 and the RLDS church.

His survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert G. and Charlene Smith of Blue Springs, and Harry E. "Bud" and Caroline Smith, Lenexa, Kan.; two granddaughters, Cynthia Leitich Smith and Stacy Cohen; a grandson, David Gillespie; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Brooking cemetery, Raytown. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
