THAD M. REYNOLDS

Thad Matthew Reynolds, 29, Oak Grove, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Menorah Medical Center.

Mr. Reynolds was born Aug. 15, 1968, in Harrisonville, Mo., and was a lifelong area resident. He was an industrial hygienist for Farmland Industries Inc. for seven years, and was a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and the American Society of Safety Engineers. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was ordained a priest in 1990. He attended the Oak Grove RLDS congregation.

His survivors include his wife, Jonelle "Jody" Reynolds, and two children, Elizabeth Reynolds and Trevor Reynolds, all of the home; his parents, Jess "Tubby" and Donnie Reynolds, and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Dennis Reynolds, and Chad and Andrea Reynolds, all of Harrisonville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jessica Maday, Independence, and Tracy and Eric Morelock, Tombstone, Ariz.; 13 nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the RLDS Stone Church in Independence. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight and Wednesday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence. The family suggests contributions to the Reynolds Children Memorial Fund, in care of the Oak Grove Bank of Jacomo, or the Oak Grove RLDS Church building fund.

PAUL A. "Pat" TOTTY

Paul Andrew "Pat" Totty, 83, Independence, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at the Independence Regional Health Center.

Mr. Totty was born May 5, 1915, in Independence, and was a lifelong area resident. He had owned and operated a grocery store, and he and his wife, Mary Totty, owned Pat & Mary`s Restaurant in Independence. He also worked for several years at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant before retiring in 1984.

His survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Bill Totty, Independence; one daughter, Sue Seedorf, McGregor, Minn.; one brother, Jack Totty, Independence; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Washington cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Gift of Hope Hospice Fund Truman Heartland Foundation, 300 N. Osage, Independence, Mo. 64050.

ROSA C. ALT

Rosa C. Alt, 84, Independence, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at Menorah Medical Center.

Mrs. Alt was born May 30, 1914, in Lyndon, Kan. She worked at Mercy Hospital before she retired from Montgomery Ward. Her husband, Harry H. Alt, died in 1981.

Her survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Deborah Alt, Kansas City; two sisters, Vaneta Powers and Elsie Bruce, both of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Sherry and Denise Alt, Karen Fiene and Michael Perdue; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla and Brooke Fiene and Joshua Alt.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel, Kansas City. Burial will be in Mount Moriah cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

CHARLES C. ROBINSON

Charles C. Robinson, 77, Independence, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at the Regency Care Center in Independence.

Mr. Robinson was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Providence, Ky., and had lived in Independence for more than 30 years. He was a car man for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years, retiring in the early 1980s. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and an Army veteran.

His survivors include his wife, Eunice Robinson of the home; two daughters, Kathy Kasper, Olathe, Kan., and Pam Tullis, Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Rayburn Robinson, Kansas City, Kan., and Jim Robinson, Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Cleta Gartner, Evansville, Mo., and Doris Freeman, Beaver Dam, Ky.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Noland Road Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the memorial fund at the church.

LOIS C. BOWLING

Lois C. Bowling, 75, Kansas City, died Friday, July 31, 1998, at the St. Joseph Health Care Center.

Mrs. Bowling was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Peoria, Ill., and had lived in this area for more than 35 years.

Her survivors include one son, Steven A. Bowling, Independence; two daughters, Lou Carroll, Perryville, Mo., and Gwynne Hamlet, Raytown; one brother, Dale A. Smith, Peoria; one sister, Margaret Parmenter, Florida; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 7 tonight in the Little Sisters of the Poor Chapel.

TERRY L. CANDILLO

Terry Lee Candillo, 47, Independence, died Friday, July 31, 1998, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Mr. Candillo was the owner of Candillo Hauling and Bobcat, and a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.

His survivors include his wife, Linda Candillo of the home; one son, Joseph Candillo, Independence; three daughters, Cheryl Catanzaro and Christy Candillo, both of Independence, and Joshette Stowell, California; his mother, Beverly Candillo, Independence; one brother, William Candillo, Liberty, Mo.; two sisters, Nancy Candillo and Patricia Candillo, both of

Independence; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, 23rd Street and Holke Road. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kansas City Funeral Directors.

ROSALIE L. MOORE

Rosalie L. Moore, 76, Independence, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.

Mrs. Moore was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Las Vegas, N.M., and had lived in Independence most of her life. She was a receptionist for Be Unique Beauty Salon for more than 10 years, and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her husband, William D. Moore, died in 1972.

Her survivors include two sons, David Moore and Larry Moore; one daughter, Jennifer Suesens; one brother, Sonny Crenshaw; one sister, June Moon; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Noland Road Chapel; cremation. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.

WILLIAM "BILL" CASPER

William "Bill W. Casper, 52, Independence, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, in the Medical Center of Independence.

Mr. Casper was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo., and lived all his life in the Independence area.

He worked at Associated Wholesale Grocers for 31 years. He was a member of the Baptist faith he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 385, Independence. He enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kay Casper, Independence, two sons, James William Casper and Kenneth Wayne Casper, both of Independence; one daughter, Tonia Heller, Odessa, Mo.; three brothers, Kenneth N. Bush, Independence, Richard E. Bush, Independence and Roy E. Casper, Blue Springs; one sister Alice L. Copeland, Blue Springs, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998 at the New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at the New Salem Funeral Home.

All arrangements are under the direction of the New Salem Funeral Home.

JOHN HUNTER COOLEY

John Hunter Cooley, 75, Blue Springs, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Intensiva Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Jan. 30, 1923 in Denver, Colo. He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and also was a Navy veteran of the Korean confilct. He married Merle Brown in Denver in 1941. They had four children. She preceded him in death in 1969. In 1970, he married M. Coleen Davis and moved to Blue Springs, Mo. He retired from the Navy in 1975 and was employed at the Bayer Corp. as a training coordinator. He retired from the position in 1988.

Mr. Cooley was a member of American Legion Post 499, the Golden City Lodge No. 1 the Scottish Rite Consistory of Colorado; the Ararat Shrine Temple and Josepha Chapter No. 63, OES, Kansa City. He was an envoy member of Beta Sigma Phi. He was a member of the Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, Blue Springs.

He is survived by his wife, M. Coleen Cooley; daughter Caroline L. Waksman, Fairfield, Iowa; daughter Carol Davis Swafford, Big Spring, Texas; son John H. Cooley Jr., Delta, Colo.; Ralph H. Cooley, Moscow, Idaho; Herbert P. Cooley, Phoenix, Ariz.; son Don R. Davis, Denton, Texas; son Mark A. Davis, Blue Springs; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Webb-Freer Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.

The family recommends memorial contributions to the American Heart Association and the Shriner Crippled Children's Hospital.

All arrangements are under the direction of Webb-Freer Funeral Home, Blue Springs.

WILLIAM A. "DELBERT" DODDS

William A. "Delbert" Dodds, 86, Independence, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1998, in the Independence Regional Health Care Center.

He was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Boyne Falls, Michigan, and had lived in Independence for the past three years.

Mr. Dodds lived most of his life in Michigan. He lived in Lawrence, Kan., for nine years from 1983 to 1994, returning to his home state in 1995.

Mr. Dodds was a printing foreman, Grandville Printing, Grandville, Mich., before retiring in 1974. He was resident manager of the Chihowa Retreat Center near Lawrence, Kan., for five years.

He was a member of the Stone Church of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served as an elder for more than 50 years. He was pastor for several congregations in Michigan and in Kansas.

He is survived by his wife Hazel M. Dodds, of the home; son William G. Dodds, Cantonment, Fla.; brother Emerald Dodds, Grandville, Mich.; sister Elna E. Harvey, Independence, Mo.; five grandchildren an nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Mound Grove cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Speaks Suburban Chapel.

The family recommends donations to the Grand Valley, Mich. Building Fund, 4790 Jacob St., Grandville, Mich., 49418.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Speaks Suburban Chapel.

HELEN MAY MOORMAN

Helen May Moorman, 83, Independence, died Nov. 26, 1998 in her home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Sweet Springs, Mo.

Mrs. Moorman was head cashier at the Jones Store for 15 years. She was a member of Eagle's Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Moorman in 1989.

She is survived by her daughter Memory L. Roberts and husband Russell, Independence; brother Chester Highley, Raytown; brother Carl Highley, Emma; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in th D. W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel.

All arrangements are under the direction of D. W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, Independence.

FRANK C. WEST

Frank C. West, 72, Independence, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Monterey Park Nursing Home.

Mr. West was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Kansas City, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a volunteer at the Medical Center of Independence and was a member of the hospital auxiliary. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked at Paul's Bar-B-Que and was a spot welder for the Vendo Co. and machine operator for Guy's Foods.

His survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Sgt. Donald and Shannon West, Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Harold West, Tarvares, Fla; and a sister, Margaret Cox-Reed, Kansas City.

Services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sheil Independence Avenue Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mount Washington cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Medical Center of Independence Auxiliary.

FRANK C. WINSLOW

Frank C. Winslow, 36, Independence, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, in th University Medical Center, Omaha, Neb.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Sunset Gardens, Marshall Mo.

Visitation will be from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the George C. Carson and Sons Independence Chapel.

The family recommends donations to the Heart of America Leukemia Society.

Mr. Winslow was born Nov. 16, 1962 in Kansa City, Mo. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Hew as a job supervisor for the La Follette Mechanical Inc.

He is survived by his parents John and Ann Winslow, Independence; sister Cathy McKittrick, Overland Park, Kan.; dauughter Kirsten Rydeen and grandfather Joaquin Valbuena, New York.
