KORSMEYER
Patricia Ann Korsmeyer, 66, Jefferson City, died Oct. 30, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Marmaduke Lee and Rosa Anna Landmann Goodall. She was married Jan. 10, 1981, to James Edmund Korsmeyer, who died June 1, 1995.
She was a 1950 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1952 graduate of Jefferson City Junior College. She was a secretary with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cole County Court, Judge McCormick Wilson and the Missouri Division of Professional Registration before retiring in 1994. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past volunteer with Jefferson City Home Health and Hospice.
Survivors include two sons: John P. Randolph, Jefferson City, and Stephen B. Randolph, Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Kathleen P. Stewart, Richmond, Texas , and Deborah A. Randolph, Jefferson City; two step-sons, James F. Korsmeyer and Stephen D. Korsmeyer, Jefferson City; three step-daughters, Victoria M. Wood, Eldon, Cynthia S. Eads, Jefferson City, and Linda A. Trower, Kansas City; two brothers, Warren Goodall, Independence, and Duke Goodall, Bossier City, La.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
NIVENS
Martin S. Nivens, 89, Centertown, died Oct.. 29, 1999, at Tipton Manor.
He was born July 24, 1910, near Marion, a son of Ike and Effie Shannon Nivens. He was married in 1954 in St. Martins to Nettie Welch Bittick, who preceded him in death.
He attended Marion grade school and graduated from Centertown High School. He was a farmer, a bricklayer and retired after many years with the Missouri Department of Corrections, where he was employed as a guard at the front gate. He was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church and the last remaining charter member of Centertown American Legion Post 531. He was an Army-Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: one son, James Bittick, Centertown; two brothers, Carl Nivens, Jefferson City, and Norman Nivens, Jamestown; two sisters, Fern Wallenmeyer and Faye Schenewerk, St. Martins; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at St. Martins Catholic Church, with the Rev. Edwin Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Martins Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer serve at 7:30 p.m., at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, and from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at St. Martins Catholic Church.
Memorials are suggested to Tipton Manor Nursing Home or St. Martins Catholic School.
REINKEMYER
Henry H. Reinkemeyer, 92, Linn, died Oct. 29, 1999, at Green Meadows Health Care Center.
He was born Feb. 18, 1907, in Linn, a son of Casper H. and Agnes Mengwasser Reinkemeyer. He was married on June 28, 1933, in Dardenne, Mo., to Hildegarde Merz, who died Dec. 30, 1985.
He attended St. George School in Linn and lived most of his life in the St. Louis area. He was a member of St. George Church, Linn; the Knights of Columbus; and the Catholic Knights of America. He was employed for more than 50 years at the Academy of Sacred Heart, St. Louis, and Maryville College.
Survivors include: one son, Henry J. "Hank" Reinkemeyer, Bonnots Mill; two daughters, Dolores M. Laposha, O'Fallon, Mo., and Barbara Ann King, Perryville, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. George Catholic Church in Linn, with the Rev. Daniel Merz officiating. Burial will be Monday afternoon in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery in Dardenne.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Chapel in Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the St. George Activity Center in Linn.
SPARKS
Marilyn Sparks, 73, Auxvasse, died Oct. 29, 1999, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital.
She was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Bachelor, a daughter of Marvin C. and Mary Jane Wilson Crowson. She was married on Sept. 6, 1952, to Vernon Claire Sparks, who survives at the home.
She was a dorm supervisor for the Missouri School for the Deaf, and she retired from the Fulton State Hospital as a PA II. She was a member of the Auxvasse United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include: one son, Kent Sparks, Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Merry Marshall, Jefferson City, and Sherry Winston, Stamford, Conn.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Auxvasse United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Guese officiating. Burial will be in the Auxvasse Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at the Maupin Funeral Home Chapel in Auxvasse.
VAN KOTEN
Arley E. Van Koten, 86, Jefferson City, died Oct. 28, 1999, at the Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 26, 1913, at Caledonia, Minn., a daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Bicknes Rahm. She was married on Aug. 29, 1936, at La Crosse, Wis., to Charles D. Van Koten, who died on Sept. 10, 1978.
She was a graduate of the La Crosse State Teachers College. A resident of the Jefferson City area since 1978, she was employed in the accounting department of Exchange National Bank until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include: one son, Charles D. Van Koten Jr., Warren, N.J.; one daughter, Judy I. Martin, Jefferson City; and one grandson.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-5:30 p.m. today at the Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Heisinger Lutheran Retirement Center or the Heart of Missouri Humane Society.
BICKEL
John W. Bickel, 71, Jefferson City, died Oct. 30, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Jefferson City, a son of Jacob A. and Mattie E. Moad Bickel. He was married June 16, 1950, in Jefferson City, to Melba J. Huddleston, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, he attended school in Tipton and New Bloomfield. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was employed by Missouri Power and Light and Union Electric for 30 years before his retirement as district auditor in 1985. From 1986-1990, he was employed in the Jefferson City finance department.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church; VFW, Roy Sone Post 1003; and the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Patricia A. Rose, Kansas City; one son, Randall W. Bickel, Jefferson City; three sisters, Mary Belville, St. Louis, Betty Mosley, Columbia, and Janet Craighead, Fulton; four brothers, the Rev. J. Arnold Bickel, Holts Summit, Donald Bickel, Gastonia, N.C., and L. Gene Bickel and Marvin D. Bickel, both of Jefferson City; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church. The Rev. Gregory Higley and the Rev. Stephen Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Mortuary, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.
SPEED
The Rev. Willard Eugene Speed, 84, Jefferson City, died Oct. 31, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Chickasaw County, Miss., a son of Luther and Mittie Bell Williams Speed. He was married May 26, 1939, in Marion, Ark., to Mary Carolyn Wise, who survives at the home.
He was a graduate of Mississippi College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas . He served as pastor for churches in Mississippi, Arkansas and Washington for 60 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Holts Summit.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Carol Ann Jones, Jefferson City; one son, Dr. Gene Speed, Forest, Miss.; two half sisters, Martha Jean Jeter, San Antonio, Texas , and Hettie Ellerbee, Meridian, Miss.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Nelson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Union Hill Baptist Church.

TUCKER
Ollie Mae Tucker, 70, Jefferson City, died Nov. 1, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 18, 1929, in Big Piney, a daughter of James E. and Viola C. Jackson Ogle. She was married Dec. 24, 1946, in Columbus, Kan., to David Lee Tucker Sr., who died May 16, 1966.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she attended school in Big Piney. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Hill Baptist Church, Holts Summit.
Survivors include: two sons, David Lee Tucker Jr., Taos, and Preston D. Tucker, Covington, La.; four brothers, Raymond Ogle, Helena, Holiday Ogle, Marshall, Ill., James Ogle, Independence, and Jack Ogle, Scottsville, Ky.; two sisters, Dorothy Schildknecht, St. Joseph, and Grace Carmon, Pocahontus, Ill.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. James Preston will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland. Rick Yoder will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.

IRVIN
Loran "Doc" Irvin, 74, Jefferson City, died Nov. 1, 1999, at Friendship House of Jefferson City.
He was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Maries County, a son of Archie C. and Laura P. Juergens Irvin. He was married Oct. 3, 1959, in Montgomery City, to Beverly Stone, who survives at the home.
He was a 1946 graduate of Vienna High School. He owned and operated Acme Stove and Electric in Kansas City for 27 years before retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, New Bloomfield.
Other survivors include: one son, Gregory Loran Irvin, Kansas City; one daughter, Melissa Irvin-Kingsley, Jefferson City; one brother, Victor Irvin, Jefferson City; two sisters, Viola Kleffner, Brinktown, and Lorraine Durnell, Willard, and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Wormsley will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
