REED

Services were March 1 for Lillian L. Reed, 83, Pilot Knob, who died Feb. 26, 1999, at Presbyterian Manor, Farmington.

She was born Jan. 12, 1916, in Ste. Genevieve, a daughter of Henry and Dorenda Lutes Winters. She was married July 22, 1933, to William J. Reed, who survives at the home.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Belleview.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Betty Ford, St. Marys, Ohio, Frances Leydens,  Jefferson City, and Sharon Barton, Arnold; two sons, Billy Reed, Citrus Heights, Calif., and Donald Reed, Ironton; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were at White Funeral Home, Ironton. The Rev. Clyde Berry officiated. Burial was in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.

ROLLINS

William T. Rollins, 77,  Jefferson City, died March 9, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born May 12, 1921, in Dixon, a son of William T. and Cora Groves Rollins. He was married Oct. 12, 1978, in  Jefferson City, to Maxine Sears Musick, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a truck driver for the Missouri National Guard and Empire Gas Co. until 1986. He was a member and trustee of Calvary Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: three stepdaughters, Joyce Wagner,  Jefferson City, Jeanette Barrows, Lakewood, Colo., and Judy Goodin, Henley; three sisters, Gertie Foster, Tulsa, Okla., and Erma Durtschi and Cora Dale Sherrell, both of Dixon; and two step grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Driggs and the Rev. C.D. Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church.

WILSON

Joe Willie Wilson, 85,  Jefferson City, died March 9, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

He was born March 20, 1913, in Glendora, Miss., a son of Solomon and Caroline Collins Wilson. He was married in 1932, in Glendora, to Birda Mae Craig, who survives at the home.

He was a self-employed mechanic in East St. Louis, Ill. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mississippi.

Other survivors include: six daughters, Margie Caldwell, Belleville, Ill., Johnnie Mae Wilson,  Jefferson City, Patricia Wilson, Alorton, Ill., Niko Prather, Arlington, Texas , JoeAn Wilson, East St. Louis, and Towanda Wilson, Washington Park, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Georgia Ruth Wilson and Gladys Marie Jones, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

SESTAK

Agnes Mary Sestak, 97, Columbia, died March 10, 1999, at Lenoir Healthcare, Columbia.

She was born Feb. 23, 1902, in Mary's Home, a daughter of Henry H. and Lena Angenendt Tellman. She was married Nov. 27, 1932, in Mary's Home to Paul Sestak Sr., who died in 1987.

She attended school at Mary's Home and at St. Peter School. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown.

Survivors include: one son, Ralph L. Sestak, Dothan, Ala.; two daughters, Mary Ann Koetting, Groom, Texas , and Cyrilla Galbreath, Columbia; one brother, Theodore "Dan" Tellman, Monterey, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.

One son, Paul Sestak Jr. , died in 1991.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Msgr. Ralph Kutz will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church.

STEGEMAN

Charles James Stegeman, 78, Rogers, Ark., formerly of Taos, died March 10, 1999, in Rogers.

He was born May 2, 1920, in Taos, a son of Henry J. and Anna May Forck Stegeman.

An Army veteran of World War II, he worked as a woodcutter in the charcoal mills. He had been a resident of Rogers since 1980.

Survivors include: one brother, Raymond Stegeman, Taos; and one sister, Irene Veltrop, Taos.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Fayetteville National Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ark. Gibbie McMillan will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home, Rogers.

THOMAS

Charles Edward Thomas, 73,  Jefferson City, died March 8, 1999, at his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Knob Lick, a son of Richard and Hazel Wilkerson Thomas. He was married Sept. 28, 1952, in  Jefferson City, to Berniece L. Dixon, who survives at the home.

He was a 1943 graduate of Farmington High School, Farmington. He graduated in 1948 from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in geology and soils. He served with the Army Reserves for 20 years, retiring as a major. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

He was employed in 1948 by the Missouri State Highway Department as fields foundation engineer. He retired in 1988.

Other survivors include: one son, Britt Thomas, Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Tami Thomas,  Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.

One son, Kevin Lee Thomas, died Jan. 1, 1994.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Steve Williams and the Rev. William Kaplan will officiate. The remains will be donated to science.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

TRIMBLE

The Rev. Fred L. Trimble, 89,  Jefferson City, died March 9, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born July 8, 1909, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, a son of Frank A. and Cora Tennant Trimble. He was married Dec. 28, 1931, in Lake City, Iowa, to Celia B. Peters, who died June 6, 1994.

He was an ordained minister for the United Methodist Church.

He attended Iowa State College and Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa. He was in the furniture business from 1936 to 1950 in Perry, Iowa, where he served one term as mayor. He farmed in southern Iowa for six years, and graduated from Garrett Seminary, Evanston, Ill., in 1959.

He served in several Iowa United Methodist Conferences, retiring in 1975. He lived in Eldon before moving to  Jefferson City, where he was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Janice Grosvenor,  Jefferson City, three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

One son, Jay Erwin Trimble, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Eldon United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Conley and the Rev. Fred Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.

Memorials are suggested to Eldon United Methodist Church or Wesley United Methodist Church,  Jefferson City.

WEBER

Neva M. Weber, 83, Russellville, died March 11, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Nov. 15, 1915, near California, a daughter of Roy H. and Mary D. Morris Eberhart. She was married Dec. 23, 1936, in California, to Alvin Weber, who survives at the home.

A 1934 graduate of Russellville High School, she attended Mariwood Beauty School and was a beautician. During World War II, she worked at the  Jefferson City defense plant.

She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She also taught Sunday School at the church, and volunteered during vacation Bible school.

Other survivors include: two sons, John Weber and Mark Weber, both of Russellville; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Her stepmother, Emma Currence Eberhart, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Russellville Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Young and the Rev. Nancy Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to Russellville Baptist Church or the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund.

WHITLOW

Mary Longan Whitlow, 73, Fulton, died March 10, 1999, at her home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Jamestown, a daughter of Les and Alma Weiser Longan. She was married Sept. 12, 1946, in California, to William "Bill" Cochran Whitlow, who survives at the home.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fulton, the Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society and the PEO.

Other survivors include: one son, William Donnelly Whitlow, Houston, Texas ; one brother, Les Longan, California; and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Fulton. The Rev. Frank Ehman will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church, Westminster College or the Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Maupin Funeral Home.

CORPIER

Mary Corpier, 72, Waynesville, formerly of Dixon, died March 11, 1999, at Life Care Center, Waynesville.

She was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Dixon, a daughter of Roscoe and Lucinda Sneed Corpier.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon.

Visitation will be from 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.
