SITTON
Opal Keely Sitton, 83, Jefferson City, died Nov. 1, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born April 7, 1916, in Steedman, a daughter of Willard and Callie Kemp Beatty. She was married Jan. 4, 1930, in Mokane, to Alfred A. Keely, who died in 1948. She was married Dec. 1, 1950, in Mokane, to Vance Sitton, who survives at the home.
She attended schools in Mokane and was a member of the Mokane Christian Church. She also had attended Tebbetts Methodist Church. She was a member of the Mokane Chapter 352 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of the Tebbetts Extension Club.
She was employed by the Missouri Division of Motor Vehicles, working in the title section, for 22 years until her retirement in 1978.
Other survivors include: two sons, Harold Keely, Centralia, and Jerry Keely, Holts Summit; one sister, Pearl Bloebaum, Jefferson City; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Harold Ferrell will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Tebbetts.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with Eastern Star services at 10:15 a.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Tebbetts Community Center or a charity of the donor's choice.
STAUFFER
Alwin Stauffer, 84, California, died Nov. 1, 1999, at California Care Center.
He was born Jan. 5, 1915, near Jamestown, a son of John C. and Ida Boillot Stauffer. He was married March 9, 1947, to Anna Margaret Schull, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he received three Bronze Stars. He farmed most of his life near Jamestown. He retired and moved to California in 1993. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Jamestown, and a former board member of the church. He attended Bethel School.
Other survivors include: one son, Carl Stauffer, Jamestown; two daughters, Gloria Dziadosz, Jamestown; and Marilyn Pelfrey, Hanceville, Ala.; one brother, Evis Stauffer, California; one sister, Ursie Schlup, California; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Chester Marshall and the Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, California.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

WHITTLE
Earl James Whittle, 93, Versailles, died Nov. 2, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 13, 1906, in Morgan County, a son of John L. and Mollie Aust Whittle. He was married Dec. 12, 1931, in Morgan County, to Grace O. Caviness, who died July 17, 1989.
He was retired from the Primo Pants Factory in Versailles.
Survivors include: two sons, Johnny Whittle, Greenville, Miss., and Earl Whittle Jr., Clearwater, Fla.; three daughters, Velma Wolf, Independence, and Shirley Marriott and Carol Helton, both of Versailles; three sisters, Marie Cornett and Myrtle Garrison, both of Versailles, and Minnie Limke, Kansas City; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. William Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
RAILEY
Mabel I. Railey, 95, Tipton, died Nov. 1, 1999, at Tipton Manor Nursing Home.
She was born April 10, 1904, in Clarksburg, a daughter of Theodore O. and Nancy Ann Shoemaker Theiss. She was married April 15, 1922, in California, to Walter Railey, who died Nov. 7, 1980.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one brother, Earl W. Theiss, Clarksburg, and one grandson.
One daughter, Irene Devine, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Conn Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. Janet Kohler will officiate. Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Hickman Cemetery.
ANDERSON
Ilene Anderson, 71, Sunrise Beach, died Nov. 2, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born March 1, 1928, in Morgan County, a daughter of Thomas W. and Thelma June Avery Hill. She was married May 8, 1948, to Roy P. Anderson, who died Oct. 14, 1997.
She was a homemaker and member of Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurie.
Survivors include: two sons, Jim Anderson, Versailles, and Stephen Anderson, Sunrise Beach; three sisters, Barbara Wilkins, Sedalia, and Della Anderson and Joann Collins, both of Laurie; four grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Lawley will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
Memorials are suggested to the Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church Music Department.
BURGESS
Gene Burgess, 68, Mercedes, Texas , formerly of Gravois Mills, died Oct. 31, 1999, at home.
He was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Stoutland, a son of Norman A. and Velma Lee Bennet Burgess. He was married April 14, 1973, to Vaun Ladd, who survives at the home.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and worked as a mechanic for General Motors Corporation until his retirement. He was a member of Zack Wheat American Legion Post 624, Sunrise Beach, and the Baptist Church, Stoutland.
Other survivors include: two sons, Steve Burgess, Mercedes, and Don Massey, Gravois Mills; four daughters, Karen Burnes, Citrus Heights, Calif., Sharon Lane, Antioch, Calif., Cathy Smith, Spring Valley, Calif., and Nancy Oehnke, Bellevue, Neb.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One son, John Francis Burgess, and three daughters, Sherry Mote, Toni Jean Massey and Linda Mitchell, preceded him in death.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Johnson County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Overland Park, Kan.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie, with American Legion services at 7 p.m.
DORBY
James R. Dorby, 88, Osage Beach, died Oct. 25, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Jan. 21, 1911, in Chicago, a son of James J. and Bessie Base Dorby. He was married Sept. 3, 1932, in East St. Louis, to Helen E. Ontl, who died Aug. 22, 1996.
He was a layout man for Western Electric in Chicago for 41 years. He was a member of Lake Presbyterian Church, Osage Beach; Linn Creek Masonic Lodge 152 A.F. & A.M.; Abou Ben Adhem Temple, Springfield; and Lake Ozark Shrine Club.
Survivors include: one son, Allan Dorby, Osage Beach; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services, including Masonic services, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Peg Boten Haub will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
BENDLIN
Anna Bendlin, 94, Climax Springs, died Nov. 1, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Oct. 8, 1905, in Denver, a daughter of Z.C. and Jesse Flint Platt. She was married to Fred Bendlin, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and attended the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: one son, Wayne Kabrick, Climax Springs; one brother, Parker F. Platt, Riverside, Calif.; three sisters, Helen Halbert, Mira Loma, Calif., Dorothy Toll, Riverside, and Jean Voss, Ruthven, Iowa, and three grandchidren.
The remains were cremated. Services will be at a later date in the state of California.

BRANSON
Ashley Marie Branson, 17, Belle, died Nov. 1, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Nov. 5, 1981, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Larry J. and Mariel G. Branson. Her mother and stepfather, Mariel and Ernie Hale, survive in Belle. Her father and stepmother, Larry and Joanie Branson, survive in St. Charles.
She was a senior at Maries County R-2 High School, Belle, where she was involved in Future Teachers of America, student council, drama, choir and cheerleading. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson City, and had been accepted to attend Concordia University, Seward, Neb.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Clinton Hale and John Van Pool; one sister, Cassie Hale; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Fischer, Jefferson City; and paternal grandmother, Vera Stubinger, Lohman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate. Burial will be in Skaggs Cemetery, Belle.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Sassman's Funeral Home, Belle. Visitation also will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Maries County R-2 High School, Belle; Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Belle; or the Trinity Lutheran Building Fund, Jefferson City.
KEENEY
Emma J. Keeney, 63, Camdenton, died Nov. 1, 1999, at Windsor Estates.
She was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Horton, Kan., a daughter of Floyd and Elsie Randall Long. She was married June 2, 1957, in Willis, Kan., to Delbert Keeney, who survives at the home.
A Camdenton resident for the past 32 years, she was a member of Camdenton First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and childcare provider.
Other survivors include: one son, Gerald Keeney, Camdenton; one brother, Robert Long, Holton, Kan.; two sisters, Beulah Graf, Topeka, Kan., and Shirley Thayer, Muscotah, Kan.; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Don Young will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Claytonville Cemetery, Willis, Kan.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday.
