MARY I. FERGUSON

Mary I. Ferguson, 63, Kansas City, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Truman Medical Center.

Mrs. Ferguson was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Kansas City. She had been a secretary for Drywall Co.

Her survivors include her husband, Donald L. Ferguson; two sons, Donald D. Ferguson, Independence, and Timothy D. Ferguson, Kansas City; a daughter, Mary Okema Ferguson-Clark, Overland Park, Kan.; and her grandchildren, Serena L. Clark, Amanda L. Ferguson, Kailey D. Ferguson and Jessica R. Ferguson.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Greenlawn cemetery, Kansas City. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Baptist Temple. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Kansas City.

BRADLEY J. KANNADY II

Bradley Joseph Kannady II, infant son of Bradley Joseph and Barbara Kannady of Lee's Summit, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City.

His survivors also include two brothers, Brandon Kannady of the home, and Blake Kannady, Joplin, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Ben and Margaret Kannady, Joplin, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Jan Sloan, and his maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Sloan, all of Lee's Summit.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Longview Memorial Gardens cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Children's Wing, Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10100 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan. 66212.

KENNETH L. "PETE" STADLER

Kenneth L. "Pete" Stadler, 66, Independence, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at the Medical Center of Independence.

Mr. Stadler was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Eudora, Kan. He worked for the General Motors Leeds Assembly Plant for 26 years, retiring in 1987. He was an avid outdoorsman.

His survivors include his wife, Margaret Stadler of the home; one son, Kenneth Stadler Jr., Fort Smith, Ark.; three daughters, Tammy Bivens, Independence, Terri Aksamit, Harrisonville, Mo., and Angela Beaman, North Kansas City; five stepsons, Robert Bivens and Michael Bivens, both of North Kansas City, Tim Bivens and Ronnie Bivens, both of Independence, and David Bivens, Overland Park, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Karen How, Independence, and Sherry Bivens, Peculiar, Mo.; his mother, Anita Stadler, Eudora; two sisters, Charlotte Alternbernd, Lawrence, Kan., and Virginia Senogles, Topeka; and 21 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Floral Hills cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.

NEIL C. BOLIN

Neil C. Bolin, 64, Independence, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, at Research Medical Center.

Mr. Bolin was born Nov. 9, 1934, in La Crosse, Wis., and lived in Hannibal, Mo., from 1936 until moving to the Raytown and Independence areas in 1965. He was president of Bo Enterprises and was semi-retired. He was a member of the Raytown Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Anne Bolin.

His survivors include his wife, Carol H. Bolin of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Jay Goodman, Lee's Summit, and Laura and Charles Carey, Kansas City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Laura Bolin, Lee's Summit, and Steve and Connie Bolin, and John and Kim Bolin all of Blue Springs; one brother, Norman Bolin, Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Peggy Warren, Kansas City; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. The family suggests contributions to the Raytown Christian Church Memorial Fund, 6108 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo. 64133.

FLOSSIE F. WILLIS

Flossie F. Willis, 102, Lee's Summit, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at the John Knox Village Care Center in Lee's Summit.

Mrs. Willis was born Dec. 12, 1896, in Mexico, Mo., and lived in this area for 32 years, moving to Lee's Summit 44 years ago. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Independence, United Daughters of the Confederacy, George Edward Pickett 1316, Order of Eastern Star of Pine Bluff, Ark., and the Mildred Dunn Study Club. Her husband, James Byrd Willis, died in 1970.

Her survivors include one son, Tom Willis, Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Meridith Jett, Independence; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn cemetery, friends are welcome to attend. The family suggests contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Independence Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the direction D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel.

RUBY R. MACKLIN

Ruby Rae Macklin, 90, Independence, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Macklin was born in Miller Grove, Texas. She was a credit clerk for Montgomery Ward, retiring in 1973.

Her survivors include one son, Byron Macklin, Independence; two brothers, Loran Anderson, Raymore, Mo., and Bill Anderson, Linn, Mo.; three grandchildren, Bret Macklin, Daren Macklin and Kelly Miller; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.

EMALIE B. "BETH" CLINE

Emalie Beth Cline, 76, Lee's Summit, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Lee's Summit Hospital.

Mrs. Cline was born April 7, 1922, in Gorin, Mo., and grew up in the Kansas City and Raytown areas, moving to Lee's Summit in 1972. She and her first husband, Charles L. Johnson, operated Ye Olde Colony Restaurant in Kansas City for several years, and later Mrs. Cline was a clerk for Allis Chalmers. She was a graduate of Central High School in Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1958.

Her survivors include her husband, Gerald W. Cline of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Debbie Johnson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorinda and Larry Padgett and Rhonda and Jim Young; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sherry Cline; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dave Clary; eight grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee's Summit. Burial will be in Floral Hills cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association.

GLADYS M. HADLEY-NUCKOLLS

Gladys Marie Hadley-Nuckolls, 80, Independence, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999.

Mrs. Hadley-Nuckolls was born May 27, 1918, in Stillwell, Okla. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Her survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George Robert and Ann Hadley, Independence, and Charles L. and Donna Hadley, Iberia, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Charlene M. and Buddy Chalmers, Independence; one sister, Esther Rucker, Waynesville, Mo.; one brother, Ralph Harness, Stockton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

EVA V. BEAUCHAMP

Eva Valencia Beauchamp, 91, Independence, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Beauchamp was born Dec. 26, 1907, in Spokane, Wash., and had lived in Pendleton, Ore., until moving to Independence in 1985. She was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Beauchamp in 1989.

Her survivors include a daughter, Arlene Steffen, Independence; two grandchildren, Kenneth Steffen, Independence, and Kathy Stephens, Blue Springs; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Graveside inurnment services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Mount Washington cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Speaks Midtown Chapel.

Homer T. McMillian

Homer Thurman McMillian, 78, Independence, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at his home. Mr. McMillian worked as an electrician for Tri-State Tank Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

His survivors include his wife of 57 years, Wanda McMillian of the home; a son, Darrel T. McMillian, Warsaw, Mo.; a brother, Kenneth McMillian, DeSoto, Kan.; three grandchildren, Melissa, Jason and Bradley McMillian; and two great-grandchildren, Stormy and Damon McMillian.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Englewood cemetery, Clinton, Mo. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Walter W. Ochs

Walter W. Ochs, 74, Independence, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at his home.

Mr. Ochs was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Temple, Mo. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served on the USS North Carolina. After the service, he worked at the Nevada (Mo.) State Hospital, and then at Bendix-Allied Signal for 37 years before retiring. He then became a certified locksmith. He was a member of the Sterling Avenue RLDS Congregation.

His survivors include his wife of 37 years, Naomi Jane Ochs of the home; a stepson, Michael David Cox, and his wife, Laurie, Independence; a daughter, Linda Ochs Hammon Gray, Lee's Summit; two brothers, Leland Ochs and Glenn Ray Ochs, a sister, Mary Ochs Handley, all of Nevada; and two grandchildren, Steve and Sheila. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Park Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

MARJORIE L. GARRETT

Marjorie L. Enlow Garrett, 68, Independence, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Garrett was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Dewitt, Mo., and had lived in the Independence area most of her life. She was a member of the Tarrara Court of the Ladies Oriental Shrine Society of Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Martin Enlow in 1961, and Walter Garrett, and her sons, Steve Enlow in 1994 and Jerry Enlow in 1996.

Her survivors include three brothers, William Lentz and Wayne Lentz, both of Kansas City, and Omie Lentz, Blue Springs; three sisters, Martha Caldwell, Gainesville, Ga., and Evelyn McIntyre and Lula Jones, both of Independence; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the New Salem Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

EMIL A. SAMBORSKI

Emil A. Samborski, 74, Oak Grove, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City.

Mr. Samborski was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Kansas City. He was a machine operator for the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant for 15 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Catholic, a member of the American Legion, and was instrumental in starting Little League Baseball in Oak Grove. His wife, Alice Samborski, died in 1977.

His survivors include two sons, Emil Samborski, Oak Grove, and Joe Samborski, Bates City; three daughters, Emily Jones, Bates City, and Rita Dyke and Eva Dickey, both of Lone Jack; two brothers, John Samborski, Kearney, Mo., and Henry Samborski, Lawson, Mo.; four sisters, Marie Kosorog, Muncie, Kan., Martha Burton and Johanna Kern, both of Kearney, and Anna L. Jones, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Burial will be in Sni Mills cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

OLETA E. SIDEBOTTOM

Oleta E. Sidebottom, 78, Kearney, Mo., died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at the Timberlake Care Center.

Mrs. Sidebottom was born Oct. 12, 1919, in Scott City, Kan. She graduated from high school in Poania, Colo. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as worthy matron of Chapter 410 in Versailles, Mo., and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Grand Junction, Colo.

Her survivors include a sister, Marguerite Christoper, Grand Junction; two sons, Gerald Sidebottom, Grandview, and Ronald Sidebottom, Woodridge, Ill.; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at Leavenworth National cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Heartland Chapter of the Alzheimer`s Association.

RALPH E. WILLIAMS

Ralph Edward Williams, 67, Raytown, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at the Edgewood Manor Care Center.

Mr. Williams was born Dec. 31, 1930, in East Lynn, Mo. He worked for the General Motors Corp. and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a deacon, chairman of the trustees, and assistant leader of the Awana Club at Southview Baptist Church, Raytown, where he was a member.

His survivors include his wife, Jacqueline M. Williams of the home; two sons, David J. Williams, Blue Springs, and Ralph Edward Williams Jr., Grandview; a daughter, Cheri L. Ring, Edwards, Mo.; a brother, Eugene Williams, Independence; and eight grandchildren, Valerie and Aaron Goodman, Rachel Kristopher and Ralph E. Williams III, and Allison, Susan and David J. Williams Jr.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Green Lawn cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at the Park Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Awana Club at the church.

BRUCE H. CORN

Bruce Henry Corn, 84, Oak Grove, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at St. Mary`s Hospital of Blue Springs.

Mr. Corn was born Dec. 5, 1913, in Sni Mills, south of Oak Grove. He was a area resident for more than 80 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theater from New Guinea to Manila. He was a life member of the Oak Grove American Legion Post 379 and VFW. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Davijean Corn of the home; a son, Ronald B. Corn, Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Ray Corn, Lee`s Summit; and two sisters, Nadine Reiss and Lodemia Morris, both of Oak Grove.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at the Royer Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care, 201 West R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, Mo. 64014, or to the United Methodist Church, Oak Grove.
