SHAFFER

Mickie Shaffer, 59, Richland, died Nov. 6, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born Sept. 13, 1940, in Elkhart, Ind., a daughter of George A. and Ruth Beggs Shaffer. Her parents survive in Linn Creek.

She was a secretary for businesses around the Lake area and attended the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses Church.

Other survivors include one brother, John Shaffer, Morrilton, Ark., and one sister, Patti Bateman, Camdenton.

Services will be at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

McFARLAND

Arlene McFarland, 79, Holts Summit, died Nov. 10, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete with Freeman Mortuary.

HEADRICK

Harold G. Headrick, 69, Barnett, died Nov. 9, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.

BEINLICH

Walter G. Beinlich, 67,  Jefferson City, died Nov. 10, 1999, in  Jefferson City.

He was born March 27, 1932, in Allentown, Pa., a son of Frank and Vietta Slinch Beinlich. He was married April 19, 1951, to Helen L. Higgins, who died Nov. 19, 1985. He was married Aug. 23, 1986, in  Jefferson City, to Addy Rockemann Feltrop, who survives at the home.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he received the Bronze Star, the Silver Star and the Purple Heart.

He was a construction worker with Laborers Local 662, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Wyman Basinger VFW Post 35, St. Martins, and St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown in Lohman.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Debra Jean Moore,  Jefferson City; two brothers, Charles Beinlich, Philadelphia, Pa., and Edward Beinlich, state of Arizona; two grandchildren and step grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown. The Rev. Warren Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation.

BOHANNAN

Beulah M. Bohannan, 90, Lohman, died Nov. 8, 1999, at Moniteau Care Center, California.

Arrangements are incomplete at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.

HOLT

Cordia B. Holt, 66, New Bloomfield, died Nov. 9, 1999, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center.

She was born March 9, 1933, in New Bloomfield, a daughter of Timothy and Goldie Burgett Murray. She was married in 1952 in Fulton to Fay C. Holt, who survives at the home.

She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, New Bloomfield.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Brenda D. Griffin,  Jefferson City, and Beulah F. Mahaney, New Bloomfield; three sons, Gary L. Holt,  Oklahoma City, Kenneth L. Holt,  Jefferson City, and Stanley L. Holt, Holts Summit; one stepdaughter, Vivian Cayce,  Jefferson City; three sisters, Mattie Murray and Amelia "Kizzie" Murray, both of  Jefferson City, and Sarah Smith, Columbia; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. The Rev. Geneva Whittler and the Rev. Richard Mayson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

McFARLAND

Arlene McFarland, 79, Holts Summit, died Nov. 10, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 28, 1919, in Portis, Kan., a daughter of John O. and Nora M. Gardner Sumpter. She was married March 9, 1940, in Kirksville, to Thomas W. McFarland, who survives at the home.

She was a graduate of Queen City High School, Queen City. She was employed with the International Shoe Factory, Kirksville, from 1946 to 1965 in the fitting and payroll departments. She moved to Rock Island, Ill., and was employed as the main accountant in collections for Sears Roebuck Co. in Moline, Ill. After moving to Holts Summit in 1975, she was employed with Wal-Mart in the jewelry department as assistant manager with duties in sales and accounting. She also worked for the Sears Roebuck Store in the maintenance office. In 1977, she was employed as the head accountant with The Future Service, Inc., where she worked for 16 years before retiring in 1993.

She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church; a past president of Beta Sigma Phi, Kirksville; and a past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge 44, Kirksville.

Other survivors include: one son, John L. McFarland, Osage Beach; one daughter, Judy Ann Prather, Grand Terrace, California; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Robert L. Shearer will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Parkview Memorial Gardens, Kirksville.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.

POWERS

Brenda Louise Powers, 37,  Jefferson City, died Nov. 10, 1999, at the Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri Friendship House.

She was born March 11, 1962, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Paul L. and Betty Libbert Bernskoetter. Her parents survive in  Jefferson City. She was married May 26, 1984, in  Jefferson City, to Terry Powers, who survives at the home.

She was a 1980 graduate of Helias High School and attended Lincoln University. She worked for the  Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Immaculata Club and the Cursillo. She also was a member of the  Jefferson City Host Lions Club.

Other survivors include: one stepson, Scott Powers, Farmington; and four brothers, Dan Bernskoetter,  Jefferson City, Roger Bernskoetter, Chillicothe, Wayne Bernskoetter, Wardsville, and Mark Bernskoetter, Springfield.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Greg Higley, the Rev. Henry Reichert and the Rev. Rob Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri or the American Diabetes Association.

RACKERS

Ronald Joseph Rackers, 47,  Jefferson City, died Nov. 10, 1999, at Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.

He was born Nov. 19, 1951, in  Jefferson City, a son of Clarence H. and Dina Johanna Dudenhoeffer Rackers. He was married Feb. 21, 1970, in  Jefferson City, to Margaret "Corky" Bauer, who survives in  Jefferson City. He was married July 26, 1986, in  Jefferson City, to Karen Poss, who survives in Kirbyville.

He was employed for 28 years as an auto body technician for Tom's Auto Body, Fisher Motors, Estes Motors, James Motors and Shikles Motors. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.

Other survivors include: two sons, Chris Rackers, Flower Mound, Texas , and Brian Rackers, Kirbyville; four sisters, Pat Jones, Independence, and Shirley Gretlein, Joan Hagner and Diana Heidbreder, all of  Jefferson City; four brothers, Kenneth Rackers, Taos; Albert John Rackers, Largo, Fla., and Robert Rackers and Carl Anthony Rackers, both of  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Erwin R. Konrad will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of  Jefferson City & Mid-Missouri, 601 E. High St.,  Jefferson City, MO 65109.

PATTERSON

Carmelita Theresa Patterson, 82, Glendale, formerly of  Jefferson City, died Nov. 10, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kirkwood.

She was born March 20, 1917, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of John B. and Mary Rose Wilbers Prenger. She was married May 24, 1939, in  Jefferson City, to Richard William Patterson, who died Dec. 17, 1984.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral.

Survivors include: one daughter, Dorothy Codd, Glendale; one son, Bob Patterson, Biloxi, Miss.; two sisters, Jackie James and Mardelle Stigall, both of  Jefferson City; one brother, Harold Prenger,  Jefferson City; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Cathedral. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Carmelite Monastery, 2201 W. Main Street,  Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.

Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

CLEMENTS

Helen E. Clements, 81, Lake Ozark, died Nov. 11, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Gallatin, a daughter of William F. and Alma B. Martin Everly. She was married in April 1943 in Kansas City, to Andy F. "Buster" Clements, who died in 1969.

She worked for the Civil Service before retiring. She was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Business Women's Association and Camdenton First Baptist Church. She lived in the Lake area since 1983.

Survivors include one brother, Bill Everly, Camdenton.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Camdenton First Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Ford will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
