FRANK A. FRY

Frank A. Fry, 73, Liberty, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at the Liberty Terrace Care Center.

Mr. Fry was born June 10, 1926, in Plattsburg, Mo., and had lived in this area most of his life. He worked for the Machinery and Supply Co. in Kansas City, Kan., for 27 years, retiring in 1984, and was a member of the Teamsters. He was an Army veteran, and a past member of Excelsior Springs (Mo.) American Legion Post 236.

His survivors include two sons, Frank D. Fry, Kansas City, and Raymond E. Fry, Independence; one daughter, Patricia A. Jones, Independence; several brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter, Jessica K. Jones.

Cremation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Speaks Suburban Chapel.

LEONARD E. DELANA

Leonard Eugene Delana, 67, Independence, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kansas City.

Mr. Delana was born May 25, 1931, in Hodge, Mo., and had lived in this area most of his life.

His survivors include two sisters, Rebecca Massey, Rocky Mount, Mo., and Mildred Simmerman, Independence; a brother, Lloyd L. Delana, Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were today at the Park Lawn Chapel, Kansas City. Burial was in Waverly (Mo.) cemetery.

ERNEST PAULL

Ernest Paull, 85, Kansas City, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998.

Mr. Paull was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Clarksburg, Mo., and lived in Sedalia, Mo., before moving to Kansas City in 1940. He worked at Rockhurst College for 15 years. He was a carpenter and mechanic, and was a 50-year member of Carpenters Local 61 in Kansas City. He was a Seabees veteran of World War II, and attended Smith Cotton School in Sedalia.

His survivors include his wife, Marie Helen Pallanich Paull, Independence; his children and their spouses, Jerry and Monica Paull, Smithville, Mo., Larry and Charlotte Paull, Independence, Helen and Lewis Hercules, Kansas City, and Mary Ellen and Rick Ralls, Chillicothe, Mo.; three brothers, Harold Paull, Desoto, Mo., Jack Paull, Griffin, Ga., and Jim Paull, Orange, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheil Colonial Funeral Home, Raytown. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Raytown. Friends may call from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

JOSEPH G. BROWN

Joseph G. Brown, 85, Independence, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at the Independence Health Care Center.

Mr. Brown was born July 3, 1913, in Kansas City, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 58-year member of Pipefitters Local 533, and for eight years owned Brown Pneumatic Tube Service. He and his wife also owned a gathering place called Browns Bar for seven years. He attended the old St. Michael the Archangel Church in Kansas City for 35 years.

His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Olive Brown; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Vickie Brown, Blue Springs; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Charles Bittel, and Vicki Ann Brown, all of Blue Springs, Teresa and Rusty Rhoads, Bates City, and Susie Shannon, Independence; two brothers, William Brown, Independence, and Donald Brown, Harrisonville, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Loy, Grandview, and Dorothy Skaggs, Gladstone, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Raytown. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Shiel Colonial Funeral Home, Raytown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice or Sisters of St. Francis.

ROBERT A. WILLIAMS

Robert Andrew Williams, 1-month-old son of Robert Andrew Taylor, Ozawkie, Kan., and Darci Irene Williams, Independence, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City.

His survivors also include his paternal grandfather, John Taylor, Ozawkie; his paternal grandmother, Robbi Fisher, Independence; and his maternal grandmother, Ruby Irene Williams, Independence. Robert Andrew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carlton Nathaniael Williams Sr.

Graveside services were today at Mount Washington cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Neonatal Unit of Truman Medical Center. Arrangements were under the direction of the Independence Avenue Chapel Sheil Funeral Home, Kansas City.

GERALD E. "JERRY" FISHER

Gerald E. "Jerry" Fisher, 72, Independence, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Fisher was born Aug. 11, 1926, in Fairmount, Mo. He attended Mount Washington Elementary School and graduated from Northeast High School in 1944, lettering in track. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater. He worked for A&P food stores and in 1953 he bought stores which he continued to own and operate until he retired in 1990. He attended Fairmount Christian Church. He played semi-pro baseball for the Fairmount Merchants, and was a member of the Kansas City Royal Lancers. The following are some of the organizations he was associated with: Royal Lancer (retired); was a past member of the Red Coater (Kansas City Chiefs), Gold Coater (Kansas City Kings), Blue Liner (Kansas City Scouts), and the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission. He was a 50-year member of Tirey J. Ford Post 21; a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Mount Washington Blue Lodge and the Independence Rotary Club; a board member of the Kansas City Retail Grocers Association, retired; a former member of the Truman High School Booster Club, and was the co-founder of the Zenith Smith Baseball League. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Renee Fisher.

His survivors include his wife of 54 years, Charlene V. Fisher; three sons and daughters-in-law; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City; cremation. The family suggests contributions to the Diabetes Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.

GEORGE R. TERRYBERRY

George Richard Terryberry, 57, Newport, Ore., formerly of Independence, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999.

Mr. Terryberry was born July 16, 1941, in Independence, and he had lived in California before moving to Newport 14 years ago. He had worked as a station manager for Frontier Airlines in Kansas City and Stockton, Calif. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Terryberry on Jan. 27, 1996.

His survivors include his son, Shawn Corey Terryberry, Marshall, Mo.; a stepson, Kevin Kornegay, Mcminnville, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Becky Lamma, Newport, and Shelly Kornegay, Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren; his mother, Blasnche B. Haddock, Independence; and three stepsisters, Linda Edson and Vicky Glass, both of Independence, and Patty Hamilton, Kansas City.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Washington cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.

Rue D. 'Rudy' Adams

Rue Del 'Rudy' Adams, 62, Odessa, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs.

Mr. Adams was born March 14, 1937, Pyatt, Ark. He worked for his brother, Buck Adams, as a concrete finisher, with the Adams Construction Co., starting in 1966 and retiring in 1992. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1959. He was preceded in death by his brother, Buck in 1992.

His survivors include a brother, Ron Adams, Pyatt; two sisters, Sue Sheeks, Odessa, and Juanita Lamb, Warsaw, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date with scattering of cremains.

JAMES W. MOON

James William Moon, 75, Independence, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at St. Mary's of Blue Springs.

Mr. Moon was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Muscatine, Iowa, and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a truck driver.

His survivors include his wife, Dorothy Moon of the home; a daughter, Jami Schafer, Kansas City; and a grandson, James Harkness.

Private graveside services will be held.

LEONA M. BLACKSTOCK

Leona M. Blackstock, 90, Independence, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at Columbia Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Blackstock was born July 30, 1907, in Lucas County, Iowa, and lived in St. Joseph, Mo., before moving to this area in 1981. She was a member of the East Alton RLDS congregation. Her husband, John W. Blackstock, died in 1993.

Her survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Anne Buckingham and Lee M. Snethen, both of Independence, Donna Jeanne Hoffman, St. Joseph; two brothers, Harold W. Cackler and J. Charles Cackler, both of Independence; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be private. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the RLDS Temple Endowment Fund.

GENEVIEVE M. "JEAN" CUNNINGHAM

Genevieve M. "Jean" Cunningham, 87, Independence, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at the Independence Health Care Center. Mrs. Cunningham was born March 26, 1910, in Sedalia, Mo., and had lived in Independence most of her life. She worked for Pratt & Whitney at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant during World War II. She was a member of Mount Washington United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.P. Cunningham in 1987, and a son, William P. Cunningham in 1991.

Her survivors include a daughter, Peggy J. Kerr, Independence; five grandchildren, Karen Miller, Ozark, Mo., Carol Ward, Tulsa, Okla., Nelson Cunningham, Omaha, Neb., Patrick Kerr, Ormond Beach, Fla., and Charles Kerr, Independence; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at the church; cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel.

MARY J. DIBBLE

Mary Jean Dibble, 71, Independence, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at Columbia Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Dibble was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Maysville, Mo., and had lived in Independence for 25 years. She was a visiting nurse for the city of Independence Home Health Division for nine years. She was a member of the Christian Church in Versailles, Mo. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Jones in 1988.

Her survivors include her husband, Charles Dibble of the home; two sons, Elton E. Jones, Crestline, Kan., and J.O. Brown, Berea, Ky.; two daughters, Sue Brown, Grandview, and Sharon Ewan, Bonner Springs, Kan.; a sister, Marguerite Blair, Cameron, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at New Salem cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 tonight at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel.

KATHLYN G. FISH

Kathlyn Georgia Fish, 82, Independence, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at Columbia Independence Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Fish was born May 26, 1915, in Ledyard, Iowa, and had lived in Bethlehem, Pa., before moving to Independence in 1970. She was a secretary for the Iowa State University Extension School and the YWCA of Bethlehem before she retired. She was a member of the RLDS Stone Church congregation and had sungin its choir and the Messiah Choir. She was also active in other church work. She was an honorary member of the Lehigh University Women`s Club of Bethlehem.Her husband, Velmer B. Fish, died in 1968.

Her survivors include a son, Leland Fish, Kansas City; a daughter, Mary Anne Adkins, Lee`s Summit; a brother, Robert Kolarich, Godfrey, Ill.; a sister, Joy Betty Hedges, Kansas City; and four grandchildren, William B. Fish, Jonathan T. Fish, Michael Adkins and Kristen Hankins.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Speaks Midtown Chapel. Graveside services and burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rush Lake cemetery, Mallard, Iowa. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

ANNIE PARR

Annie Parr, 95, Springfield, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at Lenox Health Care Center, Springfield.

Mrs. Parr was born Aug. 6, 1902, in Brownsville, Tenn. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs, where she was a member of the choir.

Her survivors include seven daughters, Patty S. Baldwin and Shirley Crooks, both of Springfield, Genie Martindale, Oak Grove, Mary Pitts, Raytown, Geneva Russell, Independence, Betty Fowler, Hot Springs, Ark., and Helen Davis, Reed Springs, Mo.; two sons, David Hamilton, Alameda, Calif., and Harold Hamilton, Fort Meyers, Fla.; a sister, Dehlia Williams, Middleton, Tenn.; 34 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at D.W. Newcomer`s Sons Blue Springs Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Springs cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Girls in Action Missions at the church.

SEAN M. RILEY

Sean Mitchell Riley, infant son of Donna and Roger Riley of El Cajon, Calif., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997.

His survivors also include a sister, Taylor Elise Riley, El Cajon; two half sisters, Shannon Harrison and Ashley Harrison, Maurice, La.; maternal grandparents, Diana and Thomas Ramsey, Greenville, S.C.; paternal grandparents, Millie and Don Riley, and paternal great-grandfather, Howard Huffman, all of Independence; his godmother, Erika Nohl, El Cajon; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Floral Hills cemetery, Kansas City. Arrangements are under the direction of the Speaks Suburban Chapel.
