SCHROEDER
Irene L. Schroeder, 91, Argyle, died Nov. 22, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1908, in Linn, a daughter of John and Mary Oligschlaeger Maasen. She was married Aug. 5, 1928, in Westphalia, to Raymond Brester, who died May 10, 1930. She was married June 21, 1935, in St. Louis, to Leonard Bernard Schroeder, who died May 2, 1979.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Argyle. A homemaker, she worked in clothing factories in Meta, Linn and Oberman.
Survivors include: one son, George Schroeder, Koeltztown; two daughters, Ida Dickneite and Berniece Struemph, both of Freeburg; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
One daughter, Mary Koelling, and one grandson, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. The Rev. Mike Murphy and Msgr. Ralph Kutz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. followed by a vigil service. Visitation will also be from 8-9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
THOMPSON
Charles W. "Buck" Thompson, 84, Chillicothe, died Nov. 23, 1999, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City.
He was born March 21, 1915, in Chillicothe, a son of Robert L. and Lillie M. Jenkins Thompson. He was married Feb. 7, 1944, on Whidbey Island, Wash., to June Rose Alger, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of Livingston County, he was a Coast Guard veteran. He was active in Golden Gloves and was a promoter of country singers, dance bands and athletic events. He worked for the Postal Service for 24 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Chillicothe.
Other survivors include: five sons, Allan Thompson, Raytown, Don Thompson, Urbana, Ill., Bill Thompson, Ashland, Mark Thompson, St. Cloud, Fla., and Kris Thompson, Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Marilyn Farmer, Raytown; two brothers, Haynie Thompson, Sunrise Beach, and Robert Lee Thompson Jr., Clinton; two sisters, Elizabeth Allen, Camdenton, and Bette Crist, Torrance, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Chillicothe. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Visitation also will be from 8-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
WALGREN
Gertrude Marie Walgren, 101, New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Meta, died Oct. 31, 1999, at her home.
She was born in Braddyville, Iowa, a daughter of William and Gladys Long Hill. She was married on Nov. 25, 1937, in Salina, Kan., to John Walgren, who died Dec. 14, 1967.
She was a member of Community Congregational Church, New Port Richey.
Survivors include two grandchildren, David R. Walgren and Karen Ford, both of Batavia, Ill.
One son, John Walgren, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Southside Cemetery near Meta. The Rev. Manuel Seaton will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.
HEIMERICKS
Marie Ellen Heimericks, 81, Jefferson City, died Nov. 23, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born Nov. 19, 1918, in Linn, a daughter of Peter and Catherine Samson Schaefer. She was married Oct. 7, 1950, in Jefferson City, to Paul Joseph Heimericks, who died July 7, 1999.
She was a 1936 graduate of Linn High School. She retired in 1984 as an administrative assistant with the Missouri State Courts Administrator's office, where she had been employed for 12 years.
She also had been employed with the Missouri Motor Vehicles Division from 1945 to1965, and with the Missouri Secretary of State's office from 1965 to1972.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Altar Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, Helias Council 1054 Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees.
Survivors include: one son, Michael R. Heimericks, Jefferson City; one sister, Catherine Perrey, Jefferson City; one brother, Nelson Schaefer, Linn; and one grandson.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald W. Lammers will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Vogelweid Learning Center, The Helias Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice.
GRANT
Services were Tuesday for James Henry Grant, 72, Sullivan, formerly of Jefferson City, who died Nov. 19, 1999.
He was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Hofflins, a son of Aubrey R. and Ruth Ross Grant. He was married June 3, 1951, in Sullivan, to Mae Betz, who survives at home.
He attended Jefferson City schools. He worked for the Department of Revenue in Jefferson City and as a carrier at the Sullivan Post Office, retiring in 1987. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Sullivan, and served on the board of directors of the Sullivan Country Club. He played on a state championship fast pitch softball team from Jefferson City. He moved from Jefferson City to Sullivan in 1963.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Vicki Grant, Sullivan; one son, Craig Grant, Shawnee, Kan.; one sister, Dorothy Steward, Napa, Calif.; one brother, John Grant, Jefferson City; and four grandchildren.
Services were at Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial or Building Fund.
DOYEL
Services were today for Evelyn Doyel, 91, Dixon, who died Nov. 22, 1999, at her home.
She was born March 7, 1908, in Dixon, a daughter of Joseph and Michia Yoakum Jones. She was married Oct. 21, 1928, in Waynesville, to John Michael Doyel, who died July 11, 1974.
A member of Burnett Christian Church, Dixon, she worked at the Snackett, Dixon. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: two daughters, Merla Gilbert, Sapulpa, Okla., and Pat Williams, Dixon; one brother, Othel Jones, Lebanon; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. Earl Jones and the Rev. Jim Dobyns officiated. Burial was in Dixon Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Burnett Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.
GRIFFING-WINNIE
Connie Lucille Griffing-Winnie, 42, Mora, died Nov. 24, 1999, at her home.
She was born Jan. 12, 1957, in Sedalia, a daughter of Clarence N. and G. Lucille LeBegue Griffing. She was married July 4, 1980, in Grain Valley, to Michael S. Winnie, who survives at the home.
She was a graduate of Smithton High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Other survivors include: one son, Michael Winnie Jr., of the home; three daughters, Genny Winnie, Kathy Winnie and Marcia Winnie, all of the home; two brothers, Clarence Griffing, Mora, and Bill Griffing, Florence; four sisters, Sue Carver, Smithton, Linda L. Warren, Sedalia, Pat Hayes, Syracuse, and Marlene Schroder, Florence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Florence United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Florence United Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Florence United Methodist Church Building Fund.

JACKSON
Delbert Jackson, 77, Fulton, died Nov. 25, 1999, at Callaway Community Hospital.
He was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Madison County, a son of Clifford and Lou Pinkley Jackson. He was married in November 1967 to Fannie Massey, who died Oct. 7, 1985. He married Ruth Latham, who survives at the home.
He was a paper cutter for Tobey Fine Paper Co., St. Louis, retiring in 1985. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Teamsters Local 688. He was a member of General Baptist Church, Madison County.
Other survivors include: three stepdaughters, Janice Peterson and Donna Felts, both of Jefferson City, and Pat Lang, St. Louis; one stepson, Ronald Latham, Arnold; one brother, Elmer Jackson, Fulton; two sisters, Annie Reed, Fredericktown, and Pauline Halley, East Alton, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One granddaughter preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bishop Bill Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

OGDEN
George Vernon Ogden, 81, Chamois, died Nov. 25, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1917, in East St. Louis, Ill., a son of George J. and Nora Jaegers Ogden.
He lived most of his life in the Belleville, Ill., area, moving to Chamois in 1985. He owned and operated Sauer's Tavern, Belleville, and also was employed by the Cahokia Illinois School District in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Chamois Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: three daughters, Pamela Blevins, Sauget, Ill., Sharon Egler, Fairview Heights, Ill., and Johnna Ogden, Darlington, Ind.; two brothers, Marvin Ogden, Sauget, and Melvin Ogden, Belleville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morton Funeral Home, Chamois. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery, Chamois.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.
