BARTZ
Arnold Thurlo "Butch" Bartz, 81, Steedman, died Dec. 3, 1999, at Callaway Community Hospital.
He was born May 14, 1918, in Crofton, Neb., to Otto H. and Lillian Yonke Bartz.
He was a farmer.
Survivors include: two daughters, Beverly Woolsey, Hartsburg, and Kimberly Hall, Fulton; one son, Eddie Bartz, Steedman; one sister, Beulah Vandeloecht, Fulton; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Homes, Fulton. Burial will be in Steedman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Sunday.
HELMER
Elmo Leland "Dot" Helmer, 82, Eldon, died Dec. 2, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Sheldon, a son of Samuel J. and Clara Ann Grozinger Helmer. He was married Aug. 11, 1941, in Yuma, Ariz., to Anna Scrivner, who survives at the home.
He retired in 1982 as parts and service manager at Taylor-Conley Ford Dealership after 36 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Eldon, where he was deacon, Sunday school teacher, former Sunday school superintendent and choir member. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Eldon. He was a volunteer and board member of Eldon Meals on Wheels. A former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, he was a member of Eldon VFW Post 2442.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Gaylia Ann Mathews, Mexico, Gloria Lynn Helmer and Glenna Sue Eaton, both of Lee's Summit; one sister, Ruby Stephens, West Plains; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Eldon. The Rev. Randall Bunch and the Rev. Bob Buster will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Eldon.
KENNEDY
Mary Ann Kennedy, 89, Stover, died Dec. 1, 1999, at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.
She was born July 8, 1910, in Sedalia, the daughter of Earl T. and Hester Ann Dunton Riley. She was married June 15, 1929, to Edward Robert Kennedy, who died Dec. 29, 1987.
She worked at Primo Pants, Versailles. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Stover, and Senior Citizens.
Survivors include: two sons, Edward Paul Kennedy, Santee, Calif., and Martin Andrew Kennedy, Eugene, Ore.; one brother, John Riley, Sedalia; one sister, Earline Lemaire, Sedalia; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Homes, Versailles.
EISTERHOLD
Sylvester J. "Jim" Eisterhold, 66, Freeburg, died Dec. 2, 1999, at his home.
Arrangements are incomplete at Morton Funeral Home, Linn.
HUNKE
Virgil F. Hunke, 78, Jefferson City, died Dec. 3, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Bland, a son of Herman H. and Lydia Schneider Hunke. He was married Sept. 5, 1943, to Neoma Laubert, who survives. He was remarried March 15, 1975, to Dorothy Colvin Mayes, who died Nov. 5, 1998.
He attended Neese School in Gasconade County. He was a farmer in the Bland area for 30 years before moving to Jefferson City, where he worked for the Missouri corrections system until retiring from Jefferson City Correctional Center.
He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693.
Survivors include: one son, Delmar Hunke, Stark City; one daughter, Linda Fairfax, Jefferson City; two stepdaughters, Patsy Russell and Brenda Taggart, both of Jefferson City; one sister, Hilda Gawer, Owensville; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Sharon Delaine Hunke, died in 1945.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Doyle Sager will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30-4:30 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
STAFFORD
Lenward "Buddy" Stafford, 50, California, Mo., died Dec. 2, 1999, near his home.
He was born May 13, 1949, in Borger, Texas , a son of Lenward and Lucille Roark Stafford. He was married Nov. 17, 1989, in California, to Barbara Schnieders, who survives at the home.
He was a 1968 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a laborer for Prost Builders Inc. and a member of Laborers Local 662 in Jefferson City.
He belonged to Salem Baptist Church north of California.
Other survivors include: one son, Nathan Stafford, of the home; two daughters, Nicole Stafford and Emily Stafford, both of the home; two brothers, John Stafford, Holts Summit, and Mike Stafford, Fritz, Texas ; and three sisters, Donna Hoffman, Jefferson City, Kay Robinett, Holts Summit, and Judy Wilson, Ravana.
Services will be at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. John Glover will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery north of California.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to The Lenward Stafford Children's Fund.
DAVIS
William K. "Bill" Davis Sr., 89, Jefferson City, died Dec. 3, 1999, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born July 13, 1910, in McDowell, a son of Nathan W. and Opal Nora Richardson Davis. He was married Aug. 4, 1936, in Jefferson City, to Anna M. Kliethermes, who survives at the home.
He attended Monett High School in Monett. He worked for Von Hoffmann Press Inc. for 25 years until retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, William K. "Bill" Davis Jr., Jefferson City, and Tom Davis, Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Eileen Tanner, Springfield; three grandchildren, one great-grandson and one stepgreat-grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Erwin Konrad will officiate. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church.
McCLURE
Harry Allison McClure Jr., 76, Osage Beach, died Dec. 2, 1999.
He was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Emporia, Kan., a son of Beatrice and Harry McClure. His wife, Betty Jean, survives.
A former resident of Overland Park, Kan., Topeka, Kan., and Kansas City, he graduated from Southwest High School in 1942 and from the University of Kansas, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
For 20 years, he was a sales representative for several organizations and then worked for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Kansas City area. He retired in 1985 and eventually moved to Osage Beach, where he worked part-time in apartment management for Midland Properties Management Inc.
Other survivors include: one son, Harry Anderson McClure, Denver; two daughters, Jan Gregory, California, and Patricia Beckett, Kansas City; one brother, Al McClure, Wichita, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, Overland Park. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at noon prior to the service.

MARKWAY
Jerome S. "Jerry" Markway, 74, St. Ann, died Dec. 2, 1999, at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
He was born in Jefferson City, a son of Albert and Marie Winklemann Markway. He was married to Katharyn A. "Kay" Mellor, who survives.
A Navy veteran, he was a carpenter.
Survivors include: one son, Stephen Markway; four daughters, Mary Sue Vandeven, Theresa Gittemeier, Gerry Anne Meyer and Jill Markway; three brothers, Maurice Markway, Marcellus Markway and Louis Markway, all of Wardsville; one sister, Mary Kay Duckworth, Wardsville; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Kevin's Church. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at Collier's Funeral Home, Bridgeton.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Disease Society, St. Kevin's Catholic Church or the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
HOSKINS
Kenneth Gerald "Jerry" Hoskins, 56, Koeltztown, died Dec. 4, 1999, at Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
He was born April 6, 1943, in Henley, a son of Kenneth J. and Lola Marie Hale Hoskins. His mother survives in Henley. He was married July 30, 1988, in Hickory Hill, to Helen Bax, who survives at the home.
A 1960 graduate of Cole R-5 High School in Eugene, he worked for International Shoe Factory from 1961 to 1966 and for Chesebrough-Pond's from 1966 to 1998. He was a farmer all his life.
He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown and the Knights of Columbus of Mary's Home Council 3267.
Other survivors include: one son, Spencer Hoskins, Jefferson City; one daughter, Sheila Suess, Jefferson City; two stepsons, Michael Otto and Roger Otto, both of Koeltztown; one stepdaughter, Patty Quick, Koeltztown; one sister, Sharon "Katie" Chaney, Henley; four grandchildren and seven stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Bernard Boessen will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
