SPENCER
Frances L. Spencer, 79, Jefferson City, died Dec. 7, 1999, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Jefferson City, a daughter of August B. and Myrtle L. Graham Schulte. She was married Sept. 30, 1939, in Jefferson City, to Elzie "Bud" Gillmore, who died in 1963. She was married March 26, 1966, in Jefferson City, to Wilfred B. Spencer, who survives at home.
A seed analyst with the Missouri Department of Agriculture, she retired in 1983 after 20 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 2693. A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, she attended St. Peters School.
Other survivors include: one daughter, JoAnn Surface, Jefferson City; one son, J.C. Gillmore, Campbell, Calif.; two brothers, James H. Schulte, Independence, and Patrick Schulte, Moberly; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Dorothy Lairmore will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
BURRUS
Juanita J. Burrus, 83, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Jamestown, died Dec. 7, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
She was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Jamestown, a daughter of Charles and Florence Alexander Barker. She was married in 1938, to Charles E. Burrus, who died March 20, 1990.
A homemaker, she attended Friendship Baptist Church near California.
Survivors include: one son, Thomas Burrus, Cedar Rapids; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be at noon Saturday in California City Cemetery. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
SHEARER
Katelynn Nicole Shearer, infant daughter of James D. Jr. and Sherri M. Baldwin Shearer, Stover, died Dec. 7, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born Sept. 16, 1999, in Osage Beach. Her parents survive at the home.
Other survivors include: paternal grandparents James D. Sr. and Betty Shearer, Stover; maternal grandparents David and Letha Baldwin, Springfield; paternal great-grandmother Bernice Thomas, Drexel; maternal great-grandparents Walter and Anna Belle Baldwin, Springfield.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Bro. Charles Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today.

HILKEMEYER
Jerome Anthony Hilkemeyer, 74, Jefferson City, died Dec. 9, 1999, at Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
He was born May 17, 1925, in Westphalia, a son of Gerhard Sr. and Gertrude Luebbert Hilkemeyer. He was married June 21, 1950, in Taos, to Alice Marie Eisterhold, who survives at the home.
A 1943 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Westphalia, he was a sales representative for Texas State Hatcheries, Houston, Texas , from 1943 to 1948; Cook Paint and Varnish Co. from 1948 to1963; and Electric Business Equipment Company from 1963 until his retirement in 1973.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; the Holy Name Society; Dan C. Coppen Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus; American Legion Post 5; Roy Sone VFW Post 1003; and St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary. He was a primary caller with the Immaculate Conception Prayer Line since 1988.
Other survivors include: two sisters, Sr. Marie Hilkemeyer, Springfield, Ill., and Trudy Conine, Westphalia; and two brothers, Inno Hilkemeyer, Westphalia, and Gilbert Hilkemeyer, Loose Creek.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Gregory L. Higley will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri or Masses.
MESSNER
Gordon J. Messner, 70, Holts Summit, died Dec. 8, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

FROMME
Jackson Francis Fromme, 66, Taos, died Dec. 9, 1999, at his home.
He was born July 5, 1933, in Jefferson City, a son of Clarence W. and Esther Ann Hilkemeyer Fromme. His mother survives in Taos. He was married June 14, 1958, in Taos, to Patricia Elizabeth Ortmeyer, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran, he was a 1951 graduate of St. Peter High School. He retired as a welder for the Missouri Highway Department in 1988, after 35 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos; Knights of Columbus 6430, Taos; Capital City Model Railroaders; National Model Railroad Association; life member of State Highway and Transportation Employees Association of Missouri; life member of National Order of Trench Rats; Disabled American Veterans and Firefighters Association of Missouri. He was a retired fireman with the Taos Volunteer Fire Department.
Other survivors include: one son, David Fromme, Holts Summit; one daughter, Beverly Thessen, Taos; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin P. Clohessy will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Jefferson City.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Xavier Building Fund or the Disabled American Veterans.
PACE
Laura Virginia Pace, 75, Versailles, died Dec. 8, 1999, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.
She was born March 20, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of George M. and Jennie Beers Schaeffer.
A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Versailles.
Survivors include: four sons, James Jerome Wilke, Paris, Calif., Robert Earl Stewart, David Jean Stewart and William Lawrence Stewart, all of Independence; one daughter, Dianna Lynn Pace Whitehead, Independence; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
FREDENDALL
Herbert Steve Fredendall, 73, Belle, died Dec. 10, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Waterville, Iowa, a son of Douglas and Edna Snitker Fredendall. He was married Aug. 30, 1947, to Viola McKinney, who survives at home.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked for Belle Counter Factory and Kingsford Charcoal. He was a member of Liberty Church of Christ, Belle.
Other survivors include: five sons, Brad Fredendall, House Springs, Mark Fredendall, Bland, Kevin Fredendall, Belle, Richard Fredendall, Lebanon, and Terry Fredendall, Hingham, Mass.; two daughters, Tamara Fredendall-Ramming, Wichita, Kan., and Barbara Cale, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Lester Fredendall, Independence, Robert Fredendall, Washington , and Cecil Fredendall, Plains, Kan.; one sister, Phyllis Tyree, Prescott, Ariz.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One son, Roger Fredendall, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Church of Christ. Randy Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Vienna.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Sassmann's Chapel, Belle.
HIRTH
Virginia Lucille Hirth, 78, Hartsburg, died Dec. 10, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Pacific, a daughter of Charles F.A. and Pearl Colter Bruns. She was married in Pacific to Frederick Joseph Hirth, who died Jan. 20, 1972.
A graduate of Pacific High School, she was a supervisor in a shoe factory and owned Style House, Pacific. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pacific, and the women's association of the church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sally R. Graham, Hartsburg; two brothers, Donald Bruns, St. Clair, and Harlan Bruns, Pacific; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. E. Gene Rooney will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Pacific.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home and from 1-3 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
JOHNSON
Don Johnson, 63, Vienna, died Dec. 9, 1999, at his home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Belle, a son of Samuel and Edna Davidson Johnson. He was married April 16, 1966, in St. Louis, to Barbara King, who survives at home.
An Army veteran, he worked for Chevrolet in St. Louis, did refrigeration work in Fort Leonard Wood, and operated an air conditioning and refrigeration service in the Vienna area. He was a member of Victory Hill Baptist Church, Dixon.
Other survivors include: one son, Chip Hughes, Jefferson City; two brothers, Lowell Johnson and Charles Johnson, both of Dixon; and one sister, Minnie Branson, Holts Summit.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. The Rev. Don Maples will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery, Dixon.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
DUGGINS
The Honorable Ralph H. Duggins, 86, Jefferson City, died Dec. 10, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
Arrangements are incomplete at Freeman Mortuary.
KLICK
Services were today for Fred William Klick, 81, Fulton, who died Dec. 9, 1999, at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born April 14, 1918, in Callaway County, a son of Adolph G. and Alta E. Williamson Klick.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded five Bronze Stars.
He was a self-employed electrician.
He attended the United Church of Christ, Fulton, and the Unity Baptist Church of rural Fulton.
He is survived by one brother, Melvin Klick, Kerrville, Texas .
Services were at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson officiated.
Burial was in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
