Polly Ann Hunter, age 50, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014, in her home.

She was born April 4, 1964, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Sherman King and Doris Melton. On April 6, 1979, she was united in marriage to Steve Hunter, who survives. Also surviving are three sons and spouses, J.D. and Ashley Hunter of Cassville, Missouri, B.J. and April Hunter of Cassville, Missouri and A.J. and Kristen Hunter of Aurora, Missouri; three daughters and spouses, K.C. Hunter and James Bickford of Aurora, Missouri, P.J. and Robert Quigley of Aurora, Missouri and Allien Hunter of Cassville, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Jessica Ingle and Cricket Ingle; several brothers and sisters; her mother-in-law, Betty Hilburn of Cassville, Missouri and twenty-six grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two grandchildren, Landon Hunter and Sabrina Hunter and a great niece, Marie Martinez.

Polly grew up and received her education in Cassville, Missouri. Three years ago she moved to Aurora, Missouri to make her home. She was a homemaker, a loving “Naw Naw” and was a member of Cassville First Assembly of God Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 30, 2014, in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Robert Day will conduct the services.

Brittney Ruth Morrison
(September 4, 1988 - November 10, 2014)

Brittney Ruth Morrison, age 26, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at Cox-Monett Hospital in Monett, Missouri.

She was born September 4, 1988, in Springdale, Arkansas, the daughter of Glenn Cranmer, II and Mae (Olinger) Cranmer, who survive. Also surviving are her partner and father of her daughter, Cory Zeigler of Seligman, Missouri; one daughter, Summer Jade Zeigler of the home; two brothers, Jamie Muller and his wife, Chanty of Springfield, Missouri and Jimmy Taylor, Jr. of Fulton, Missouri; one sister, Lori Taylor of Exeter, Missouri; one step-brother, Christopher Mathews of Wichita, Kansas and two step-sisters, Nichole Cranmer and Kelly Cranmer both of Ohio.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents; one brother in infancy and two uncles, Marion Olinger and Jim Olinger.

Brittney resided in Springdale, Arkansas until 1998, when she moved to Exeter, Missouri. She attended Exeter School and was a 2006 graduate of Exeter High School. Spending time with her daughter and family were her greatest joy in life and she enjoyed cookouts, riding horses, camping and being with friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2014, in Elm Springs cemetery, Elm Springs, Arkansas, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Zackery "Zack" Ryan Phillips
(January 15, 1985 - November 11, 2014)

Zackery Ryan “Zack” Phillips, age 29, of Cassville, MO, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in his home.

He was born January 15, 1985, in Rogers, Arkansas, the son of Tad and Joy (Hilburn) Phillips.

Surviving are his mother, Joy Phillips of Cassville, MO; his daughter, Ada Joleigh Phillips of Cassville, MO; one sister, Megan Quinn and her husband, Bob of Cassville, MO; a niece MacKenzie Quinn; his maternal grandmother, Betty Hilburn of Cassville, MO; five aunts, Sandy McClung and her husband, Don of Berryville, AR, Carla Eden of Aurora, MO, Sherry Bass and her husband, Marion of Independence, MO, Judy Tipton and her husband, Greg of Cassville, MO and Wilma Hilburn of Cassville, MO and five uncles, Larry Phillips and his wife, Barbara of Cassville, MO, Bud Phillips and his wife, Jean of Shawnee, OK, Gary Phillips and his wife, Mary of Cassville, MO, Marty Hilburn of Washburn, MO and Rob Hilburn and his wife, Janice of Aurora, MO.

Preceding him in death were his father, Tad Phillips; a sister, Amanda K. Phillips; maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.

Zack, as his family and friends knew him, grew up and received his education at Cassville, where he graduated from high school. From July 21, 2003, until July 21, 2007, he was in the United States Marine Corp serving in Iraq, where he received a purple heart. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2014, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Russell cemetery, Butterfield, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Kathleen M. Clark
(February 20, 1941 - December 24, 2014)

Kathleen M. Clark, age 73, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville, Missouri.

She was born February 20, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Daniel and Eleanor (Franzen) McPhee. She was united in marriage to Joseph Clark, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one son, Daniel; her parents and one brother, Jim.

Surviving are one son, James “Jim” Clark and his wife, Pam of Torrance, California; one brother, Dean Stroh of Torrance, California; one grandson, Jimmy Clark; one granddaughter, Katie and one great-great grandson, Jake.

Kathleen grew up and received her education Minneapolis, Minnesota. She did accounting and office work most of her life. In 1994, she came to Shell Knob for a visit and ended up staying. She worked for a CPA also in Shell Knob. Kathleen enjoyed doing needlepoint and reading. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.

Gail L. Boyd
(November 23, 1934 - December 23, 2014)

Gail L. Boyd, age 80, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in her home.

She was born November 23, 1934, in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Bud and Gladys (Christian) McNemee. On August 3, 1950, in Concordia, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Elzie A. Boyd, who preceded her in death on December 27, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Bud McNemee and two sisters, Phyllis Eberhart and Betty Byrne.

Surviving are two sons, David Boyd and his wife, Denise of Monett, Missouri and Bobbie Boyd and his wife, Gale of Monett, Missouri; three daughters, Jackie Rochleau and her husband, Dale of Surrey, British Columbia, Robin Tichenor and her husband, Joe of Wheaton, Missouri and Kelly Wartick and her husband, Jarritt of Republic, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Farris, Christina, James, David Jr., Danny, Patrick, Kirsten, Justin, Hailey and Olivia; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Gail grew up in Atchison, Kansas, where she received her education. For several years she was employed as a waitress at Betsy Ross Diners in Southern California. Later she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she worked for Red Lobster. In 1981, she moved from North Carolina to Missouri to make her home. Some of her favorite pastimes were quilting, crafts and being with family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Dice cemetery in Fairview, Missouri, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Alice Lorean Lock
(January 15, 1914 - December 27, 2014)

Alice Lorean Lock, age 100, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Autumn Hill Nursing Home, Berryville, Arkansas.

She was born January 15, 1914, in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Charles A. and Josie (McCann) Thompson. On March 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to George W. Lock, who preceded her in death on February 13, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Bill Lock and his wife, Joella of Shell Knob, Missouri and Bob Lock and his wife, Evelyn of Shell Knob, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dawn Fausett of Enid, Oklahoma, Heather White of Crestview, Florida, Melanie Lock of Shell Knob, Missouri and Annora Lock of Kimberling City, Missouri and three great grandchildren, Boston Fausett, Penny White and Kallie White.

Alice grew up and received her education in El Dorado, Kansas, where she graduated from high school. She received her cosmetology license in St. Louis, Missouri and returned to El Dorado, where she worked as a beautician. In 1953, Alice, George and their family moved to Newton, Kansas, remaining there until 1989, when they moved to Shell Knob, Missouri to make their home. She was a very active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Knob. When her sons were growing up she enjoyed attending ball games and helped with 4-H. She was always there for her family. Some of her favorite pastimes were water color painting, doing crafts and attending craft shows, walking, riding her bike and just being active. She was known for her homemade candies.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob, Missouri. Pastor Brian Chisamore will conduct the services. Burial will be in Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob.

Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association or Shell Knob Library in memory of Alice.

Ina "Becky" Rebecca Lawson
(December 18, 1960 - December 26, 2014)

Ina Rebecca “Becky” Lawson, age 54, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, at the home of her father.

She was born December 18, 1960, in Tachikawa Air Base, Tokyo, Japan, the daughter of CMSgt. William “Bill” and Virginia (Moon) Maloney.

As an Air Force dependent, Becky grew up in California, Texas and Alaska before the family settled in Missouri. She graduated from Cassville High School in 1979. She received her nursing certification from Northwest Arkansas Community College and was employed as a registered nurse in Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas and was last employed at the Mt. Vernon Veterans Home. During her career she especially loved caring for the elderly. Becky enjoyed visits from her nieces and nephews, camping, reading and crafting. She loved animals and collected a small menagerie of abandoned pets over the years. She was especially proud of her daughter, Lindsay.

Surviving are her father, Bill Maloney of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Lindsay Lawson of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, William Timothy Maloney of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Teresa Boston of Willow, Alaska, Nancy Riley of Hallsville, Missouri and Sara Maloney of Cassville, Missouri as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her mother and grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Charles Garrison
(March 23, 1931 - December 28, 2014)

U.S. Veteran
Charles Arthur Garrison of Shell Knob, Missouri, died peacefully Sunday, December 28, 2014, after many months of ill health.

He was born March 23, 1931, to Charles Elzy Garrison and Marie Anna Berg Garrison in Arkansas City, Kansas. On September 25, 1959, he was married to his devoted wife, Dolores Ellis, who survives. Other survivors are his two sons, John and wife, Susan, of Overland Park, Kansas and Phillip and wife, Jancy of Dubai, UAE; grandchildren, Brandy Armour, Nash Garrison and Braden Garrison; two nephews, Charles Ermey and Max Ermey and a host of other close family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maxine and granddaughter, Megan.

He attended Arkansas City schools and later graduated from John Brown Military Academy, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Following in his father’s footsteps he was employed by the AT& SF Railroad starting at the age of 16 as a clerk in Arkansas City and retired as Road Foreman of Engines in 1993 at Newton, Kansas, moving to Shell Knob after retirement. His love for the railroad kept him working as a part time consultant, licensing railroad engineers until his second retirement in 1997. Because of his love of children he was involved with the Optimist Club sponsoring a children’s fishing tournament, helped with the Boy Scouts program and played the part of Santa Claus many times. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, High 12 Club and was a member of the Shell Knob Shrine Club, helping with the annual Bass Tournament for many years. He was a former member of the Million Dollar Band, Midian Shrine Club of Wichita, Kansas. His activities included being a 50 year member of the VFW, Lions Club member, chairman of the Local Emergency Planning District of Barry and Lawrence Counties, instigator of the home delivered meals program which developed into the Shell Knob Senior Corp and Central Crossing Senior Center, an avid member and supporter of the Central Crossing Fire District and a member of several train modeling clubs. His hobbies were golf, fishing, listening to marching music and working with model trains. He was a member of the Central Community United Methodist Church and his love for Christ was clear to all who knew him.

Funeral services with military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Central Community United Methodist Church, Shell Knob, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Barry Fielder will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.

Contributions may be made to Central Crossing Fire District, Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children or Central Community United Methodist Church in memory of Charles.
