Marlene Duncan
(October 20, 1931 - December 6, 2014)

Marlene Duncan, age 83, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

She was born October 20, 1931, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Oliver and Gladys (Delette) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Bob Davis in April of 1949, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2005. On June 18, 1965, in Winterhaven, California, she was united in marriage to Rex Clinton Duncan, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2011. Also preceding her in death were three brothers; three sisters and a grandson, Jason Duncan.

Surviving are four sons, Scott Duncan of Rogers, Arkansas, Randy Duncan and his wife, Lori of Washburn, Missouri, Craig Davis and his wife, Kathleen of Rogers, Arkansas and Kevin Duncan of Rogers, Arkansas; one daughter Melissa Racine and her husband, Tim of Oak Harbor, Washington; one brother, Meryle Anderson of California; two sisters, Yvonne Jones of Arizona and Josephine Woods of Utah; ten grandchildren, Chelsea Rodman, Nathan Duncan, Christen Dromgoole, Daniel Duncan, Tara Duncan, Whitney Lawrence, Lindsey Hall, Matthew Secrist, Michael Racine and Becky Racine and seven great grandchildren, Jasmine Secrist, Adrian Duncan, Trey Lawson, Isabella McConnell, Jaysen Rodman, Brody Duncan and Jack Lawrence.

While a child, Marlene moved with her family from Nebraska to San Diego, California. She attended San Diego High School and graduated in 1948. In 1975, she and her family moved from California to Washburn, Missouri to make their home. She was a member of Cassville First Christian Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Throughout the years, she enjoyed going to all of the school events supporting all of her kids. She always enjoyed having the whole family around her. Holidays, like the 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas were always a major event at mom’s house. The whole family would always congregate there for any major event. Her hospitality and love of family and friends will truly be missed.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 11, 2014, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Glenn Erwin will conduct the services.

Daniel "Danny" Paul Daniels
(November 8, 1961 - December 11, 2014)

Daniel Paul “Danny” Daniels, age 53, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014.

He was born November 8, 1961, in Henderson, Nevada, the son of Gerald L. and Thelma “Pauline” (McLain) Daniels who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Gordon, Ralph and Kenneth Daniels.

Surviving are one son Chase Daniels and one daughter Delia Daniels both of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Gary Daniels of Henderson, Nevada and Keith Daniels and his wife Gayle of Exeter, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet’s Rebel, Capone and Lucy Lou.

Danny graduated from Exeter High School, and then joined the United States Marines Corp. After his time in the military he made his home in Las Vegas, working as an investigator for the Clark County, Nevada, Coroner. Two years ago he moved back to Missouri. Danny enjoyed woodworking, sports and especially spending time with his kids.

He attended Victory Baptist Church where a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, December 15, 2014. Pastor Russell Bishop will conduct the service.

Thomas "Tom" Lee Gantt, Sr.
(January 31, 1943 - December 12, 2014)

Thomas Lee “Tom” Gantt, Sr., age 71, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.

He was born January 31, 1943, in Burlington, South Carolina, the son of Robert Lee and Ida Mae (Hayes) Gantt. On August 10, 1966, he was united in marriage to Javene Scheidler, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Timothy Gantt of Cassville, Missouri and Thomas Gantt, Jr. of Miami, Florida; two daughters, Tammy Gantt and her fiancé, Jesus Lopez of Ocala, Florida and Teresa Harris and her husband, Jeff of Cassville, Missouri and one granddaughter, Rebecca Marie Allen.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Tom, as most people knew him, received his education in Radford, Virginia, where he graduated from high school. He then attended Strayer University in Washington, D.C. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Army. In 1978, he moved from Washington DC to Cassville to make his home, where he sold real estate. He also owned and operated Tom Gantt Steel Buildings on Highway 37 South. He made several trips to Mexico as a missionary for the Navaho.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in Believers Fellowship Church, Washburn, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastors Carroll Williamson and Deryl Harp will conduct the services. Burial will be in Roller cemetery, Washburn, Missouri

Anne Marie Reust
(March 13, 1978 - December 15, 2014)

Anne Marie Reust, age 36, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.

She was born March 13, 1978, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Randall and Mary (Woodell) Reust.

Surviving are her mother, Mary Reust Pennell of Pierce City, Missouri; her fiancé, Darren Klingsporn of Exeter, Missouri; one sister, Francie Eagleburger and her husband, Rick of Brookline Station, Missouri; her horse, Shu and her cat, Hoss.

Preceding her in death was her father, Randall Reust.

Anne was a graduate of Purdy High School and had resided in Exeter the last two years. She was a homemaker. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, riding horses and computers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2014, in Calton cemetery, Pleasant Ridge, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

The family asks that you take your kids out for an ice cream cone in lieu of flowers.

Charlie "Joe" Bruton
(June 10, 1950 - January 6, 2015)

Charlie “Joe” Bruton, age 64, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.

He was born June 10, 1950, in Las Animas, Colorado, the son of Sam and Birdie (Morlan) Bruton, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Keith and Jerry.

Surviving are one daughter, Jami Bruton-Davis of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, Kenneth Bruton and his wife, Dolores of Cassville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Torance Davis and Kristen Scherrer; a sister-in-law, Linda Bruton of Washington and several nieces and nephews.

At the age of six, Joe moved with his family from Colorado to Missouri. He attended cosmetology school at Neosho School of Cosmetology. For several years he was employed as custodial supervisor for Cassville Schools. Some of his favorite pastimes were collecting thimbles, knives and other unique items.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jim Clay will conduct the services.

Contributions may be made to Cassville School Back Pack Program in memory of Joe.

Joe Lynn Nodine
(January 17, 1959 - December 18, 2014)

Joe Lynn Nodine, age 55, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014, in his home.

He was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, January 17, 1959, the son of Al and Betty (Utter) Nodine.

Surviving are his mother. Betty of Grove, Oklahoma; one son Toby Nodine and one daughter Tanya Nodine both of Washington, Louisiana; four brothers, Al Nodine, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Bella Vista, Arkansas, John Nodine and his wife Evelyn of Walker, Louisiana, Mike Nodine and his wife Rhonda of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Danny Nodine and his wife Angie of Purdy, Missouri and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Joe moved from Taney, Kansas forty six years ago and graduated from Monett High School. He worked in construction. Watching stock car and drag races were some of his favorite pastimes.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 29, 2014 in Faith Family Church, Cassville, Missouri. The Nodine family will conduct the services.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

Paul David Hammack
(January 1, 1936 - December 22, 2014)

Paul David Hammack, age 78, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, in Roaring River Health & Rehabilitation, Cassville, Missouri.

He was born January 1, 1936, in Oklahoma the son of Isaac and Lula Hammack. On September 6, 2014, in Wheaton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Eiken, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Scott, Jalynn and Cheryl and several grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Paul received his education in Odessa, Texas, where he graduated from high school. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army. For several years he resided in California and worked as maintenance manager for Frito Lay in Bakersfield. Twenty-four years ago he moved from California to Missouri to make his home. He loved to work, sing and listen to country music.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Steve Spillman will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Rocky Comfort cemetery, Rocky Comfort, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Contributions may be made to Omaha Home For Boys in memory of Paul.

Betty Jean Anderson

Betty Jean Anderson, age 83 of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville, Missouri.

She was born November 22, 1931, in Flushing, Michigan, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys (Davis) Cupit who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one brother.

On August 9, 1957, in Michigan, Betty was united in marriage to Howard John Anderson who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Mike Anderson and his wife Chesta of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Dave Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri, one daughter; Nancy Anderson of Shell Knob, Missouri and one brother, John Cupit of Swartz Creek, Michigan.

Betty grew up on a farm in Linden, Michigan, where she attended schools and graduated from Linden High School. After she and Howard were married , she was a busy mom, raising their children, being a Girl Scout leader, teaching piano and was always very active in her church. She was very artistic; china painting and knitting were two of her favorite pastimes. In 1963, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri until 1986 when they made their home in Shell Knob, Missouri.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2014, in Lake Park Memorial Gardens, Shell Knob, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Brian Chisamore will conduct the services.

Contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Betty.
