Sherry Jean (Wingert) Hickman
(January 27, 1963 - February 1, 2015)

Sherry Jean Wingert Hickman, age 52, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away in her home early Sunday morning. Sherry was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 27, 1963.

On May 31, 2008, she and Les Hickman were married .

Survived by her husband, Les Hickman of Wheaton, Missouri; two brothers, Larry and Gary; two sisters, Karen and Sharron; two children, Denise Gilmore and her husband Kevin, and Michael Easley and his expecting wife Linda Easley and two grandchildren Kyle and Kayla.

She also had three step-daughters, Theresa Robertson and her husband Richard, Tammy King and Amanda Miller; five step-grandchildren, Tiffany Robertson, Caleb Robertson, Haylie King, CJ, and Sterling.

Sherry always knew how to brighten the lives of others with her sweet, kind hearted and genuine loving spirit. Her family and friends truly meant the world to her. Sherry had such a free spirited soul. She liked to take road trips, appreciated nature, enjoyed time at the water and mostly adored quality time with family and friends.

Sherry will be dearly missed by friends and family or all that knew her. We love you more than words could ever say.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon, Sunday, May 31, 2015, in Roaring River State Park, a place she enjoyed. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Ruth Burk
(September 13, 1919 - February 5, 2015)

Ruth Burk, age 95, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born September 13, 1919, at Abesville, Missouri, to James Arnold and Golda (Daniel) Burk, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were a brother, Xury Burk and his wife, Betty and a sister, Hattie Burk.

Surviving are a nephew, Gary Burk and his wife, Sandy; a niece, Laura Riot and her husband, Don; several great nieces and nephews and very close friends, DeWayne and Irene Day of Exeter.

Ruth received her education at Abesville, Missouri. She accepted Christ at a young age and traveled over 50 years evangelizing with Veda Shepard, playing the guitar and singing. Ruth was a seamstress and did upholstery work for the public. Ruth attended Exeter Assembly of God Church. She was a blessing and loved by those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, February 8, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services. Burial will be in Eisenhour cemetery, Galena, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. Saturday, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

W. Clarence "Popeye" Still
(December 25, 1924 - February 6, 2015)

W. Clarence “Popeye” Still, 90, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away in his home surrounded by family, on Friday, February 6, 2015.

He was born December 25, 1924, in Cassville, Missouri, to James and Mabel (Cole) Still. He attended Union Valley School and later proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in Germany.

He was united in marriage to Virginia Vincent on September 7, 1947, in Cassville, Missouri, to which they shared 67 wonderful years. Virginia survives. Clarence is also survived by one sister, Donna Lean Medlen and husband, Maury of Longview, Washington; two daughters, Janice Nelson and Kenneth of Exeter, Missouri, Jane Durham Covel and David of Cassville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Stacie Reed and Michael Shockley of Exeter, Missouri, Angela Edie and Robert of Cassville, Missouri, Greg Hilburn and Erica of Exeter, Missouri, Lori Hargus and Michael of Thayer, Missouri and Amy Cartwright and Brian Lewis of Wheaton, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, Scott and wife, Samantha, Lauren and Alyssa Hargus, Cotton Reed, Payton Horner, Briar Lewis, Corey and Shea Hilburn and one great-great granddaughter, Lainey Hargus.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one sister, Blanche Nickols; four brothers, Walter, Cole, Vernon and Edgar “Pete” Still and one son-in-law, Jim Durham.

Clarence was a member of Exeter First Baptist Church. He had many jobs throughout his life. He hauled milk, worked in a lumber mill, for the telephone company and did machine work. He co-owned Still Well-Drilling and Nelson-Still Metal Buildings. He owned and operated High-Valley Kennel. He loved racing cars, raising cattle and having a large garden. He also enjoyed welding, to which much of the community benefitted.

He will be remembered as a hardworking, kind and loving man who taught us to love the Lord, work hard, be kind, help those in need and look for the best in every situation.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 9, 2015, in Exeter First Baptist Church, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jerry Yarnall will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be in Maplewood cemetery, Exeter.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Vearle "Dean" Cunningham
(February 10, 1935 - January 20, 2015)

Vearle “Dean” Cunningham, age 79, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.

He was born February 10, 1935, in Fairfield, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Grace Alice (Wilson) Cunningham.

Dean had been a Janitor for Indiana National Guard, from which he retired. In 1990, he moved to Cassville, Missouri to make his home and was employed at Ramey’s several years. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Cassville.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Kevin Hilton will conduct the services. Burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois.

Contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church in memory of Dean.

Marvin Car Cruzan
(November 26, 1938 - February 11, 2015)

Marvin Car Cruzan, age 76, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.

He was born November 26, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Benjamin E. and Helen M. (Princelaw) Cruzan. On December 5, 1979, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Macy Fattig, who survives. Also surviving is one brother, Allan W. Cruzan of Harrison, Arkansas.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Marilyn Englebrecht.

Marvin received his education in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Kansas City Metropolitan College. From April 7, 1958, until June 1, 1962, he served in the United States Air Force. For several years he was a computer programmer analyst for the Department of Energy, in Ohio, Colorado and Indiana, retiring in 1992. He loved computers, animals and people.

Services with military honors have been postponed due to weather. Arrangements will be announce later.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob, Missouri.

Kenneth Ewell Graves
(March 3, 1938 - February 11, 2015)

Kenneth Ewell Graves, age 76, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in his home.

He was born March 3, 1938, in Blue Eye, Missouri, the son of Ewell and Dovie (Widner) Graves. On July 3, 1961, in Monett, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Rose Phillips, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kenney Joe Newboles of Nixa, Missouri and Kevin Eugene Graves and his wife, Jammie of Exeter, Missouri; two daughters, Pamela and Karen Michelle and her husband, Danny of Purdy, Missouri; two brothers, Archie Graves of Neosho, Missouri and Bob Graves of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Jerlene of Berryville, Arkansas and Zoe and Ruth of Kansas City, Missouri and three grandchildren, Shelby Lewis, Kimberly Graves and Tasha Graves.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Emanuel, Dean, Basil and Eugene and one sister, Pearl.

Kenneth grew up and received his education at Blue Eye, Missouri, where he graduated with the High School Class of 1956. From June 19, 1962, until June 28, 1965, Kenneth served in the United States Army. For several years he was employed as line supervisor for Tyson Foods in Monett. He resided in Shell Knob, Missouri several years before moving to Purdy to make his home. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church at Wheaton, Missouri. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Vickie M. Marks
(January 24, 1953 - February 11, 2015)

Vickie M. Marks, age 62, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

She was born January 24, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of David Edward and Avona M. (Coburn) Nehlsen, who preceded her in death.

Surviving is one brother, Michael Nehlsen of Big Bend, Wisconsin.

Vickie grew up and received her education in Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school. For several years she was employed as a factory worker. Eight years ago she moved from Wisconsin to Cassville, Missouri to make her home.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Reba (Kirk) Young
(August 10, 1944 - February 9, 2015)

Reba Louise (Kirk) Young, age 70, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015, in Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born August 10, 1944, in Rogers, Arkansas, the daughter of Loyd Jefferson and Blanche (Cummings) Kirk, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Brian Hawk McBride of Orville, California; two brothers, Jerry Lee Kirk and his wife, Rosetta of Redding, California and Leo Jefferson Kirk and his wife, Cynthia of Washburn, Missouri and two grandchildren.

Reba grew up and received her education in Arkansas. She was a homemaker. Before moving to Washburn, Missouri, nine years ago, she resided in Orville, California. She attended Washburn First Baptist Church. Some of her favorite pastimes were knitting, crocheting and working crossword puzzles.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 17, 2015, in War Eagle cemetery, War Eagle, Arkansas, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

Micaela Anne Abernathy
(September 7, 1983 - February 10, 2015)

Micaela Anne Abernathy, age 31, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

She was born September 7, 1983, in Midland, Texas, the daughter of Michael Abernathy and Donna Houston Hurst. Micaela grew up and received her education in Houston, Texas and graduated from Cy Springs High School. She then attended College at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. Most of her life was spent in Houston, Texas. She loved life and lived it to the fullest and those blessed enough to have known her enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humor. She was a creative person who collected friends as others collect coins. She had a huge heart and was an avid and involved warrior for PETA and Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption. Micaela was adored and loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her father, Michael Abernathy of Leesburg, Florida; her mother, Donna Hurst of Cassville, Missouri; two sisters, Kathleen Hurst and Claire Hurst both of Cassville, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Margaret and Glen Abernathy of Fort Myers, Florida; aunts and uncles, David Abernathy of Fort Myers, Florida, Shawn Hedman of Clearwater, Florida, Gerald Houston and Kristin Popanz of Cassville, Missouri, Vickie Houston of Sarasota, Florida, Billie and Tim Sapp of Exeter, Missouri, Bettie and Audy Holman of Cassville, Missouri and Michelle and Klaus Doranth of Sarasota, Florida; her special friend, Scott Godsey and her best friend, Brooke Robles.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Bill and Ethel Houston.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 13, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri. Pastor James Weaver will conduct the services. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will also be held in Florida.
