Dennis Wayne Ridenour
(November 13, 1958 - January 11, 2015)

Dennis Wayne Ridenour went home to be with his Father-God on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Born on November 13, 1958, in Pinckneyville, IL to Lawrence Hobart and Myrtle Mae Ridenour. Dennis was 56 years old and called Wheaton, MO his home.

He left several family members on this Earth, all glad to know that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Among them: Father – Lawrence Ridenour. Siblings: Larry, wife Marilyn; Kenneth, wife Sharon; Phyllis, husband Roger Pruett; Keith, wife Denise; and Janice, husband Dale McCracken; along with over 40 nieces and nephews. He has now joined his mother Myrtle in Heaven.

There aren’t enough words to describe the kindness and pure love that Dennis harbored for those he cherished. A love he would freely admit originated with the Lord. Always putting God first, he was a member at the Chapel of Grace in Monett, MO. Throughout his life he served in several roles at area churches, dedicating his time as a Youth Group Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Dennis was a devout student of God’s word and was always eager for an opportunity to share a verse of encouragement or witness to others. He was a relentless Soldier for Christ until his last days, where he made sure to share the Gospel with residents and employees at LACOBA Nursing Home in Monett. Countless lives were touched because of Dennis Ridenour.

Undoubtedly a hard worker, Dennis was continually encouraging those around him. After his graduation from Wheaton High School in 1977, he spent the later part of his life working at Wells Aluminum - Monett, Schreiber Cheese - Mount Vernon, Ramey Supermarket – Cassville, and First Baptist Church – Wheaton, MO. He also worked alongside his brother, Kenneth for several years in Masonry.

Dennis was an amazing son, great brother, proud uncle, kind-hearted friend, and above all an outstanding example of Christ’s love. When the Ridenour family would sing together, Dennis’ signature was “Leaving on my Mind.” He always had his eyes set on going home. The Ridenour family would like you to join them in his homecoming celebration.
