ZBINDEN
Mildred Cleone Zbinden, 82, Jefferson City, died Dec. 10, 1999, at Oak View Living Center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1917, in New Franklin, a daughter of Lawrence and Lavinia Ladais Beamon. She was married in November 1935 to James Carl Zbinden, who died in August 1966.
A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, she graduated from school in Mokane. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Martha Sapp, Marion, Nancy Jaeger, Jefferson City, and Kathy Stutte, Lexington, Ky.; three sons, Jerry Zbinden, James Zbinden and John Zbinden, all of Jefferson City; two brothers, James Beamon, Destin, Fla., and Monte Beamon, San Diego; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Private services will be conducted Monday in the Freeman Chapel. The Rev. Lawrence Veatch will officiate. Burial will be in Mokane Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association.
CALTON
Ada Evelyn Calton, 94, Barnett, died Dec. 10, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born Jan. 12, 1905, in Camden County, a daughter of Andrew J. and Rosie Cantrell McCasland. She was married Dec. 23, 1925, to Charles A. Calton, who died July 7, 1995.
A homemaker, she worked at Kidwell Nursing Home in Versailles. She was a member of Rock Dale Baptist Church near Sunrise Beach.
Survivors include: three sons, Frank Calton, Tuscumbia, William Calton, Barnett, and Lonnie Calton, Terre Haute, Ind.; four daughters, Nellie Hensley, Kansas City, Ruby Gardner, Pasadena, Calif., Lelia Thompson, Terre Haute, Ind., and Wanda Grace Gibbs, Eldon; 26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Calton and John Henry Calton, and four daughters, Barbara June Harrison, Hazel Irene Calton, Betty Lou Shackelford and Sarah Jane Tombs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
FAU
Gayle A. Fau, 54, Camdenton, died Dec. 11, 1999, at her home.
She was born April 19, 1945, a daughter of Melvin and June Webb Thompson. She was married March 13, 1965, in Cicero, Ill., to Wayne B. Fau, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she traveled around the world in support of her husband's Air Force career. She accompanied him on six overseas tours and established 20 separate households during 35 years of marriage.
She was active in the military community and Catholic chapel activities.
Other survivors include: one son, John Fau, Camdenton; one daughter, June Hanson, Austin, Texas ; her stepfather, Louis Kolazynski, Oak Park, Ill.; one brother, Melvin Thompson, Maui, Hawaii; one sister, Roberta Anne Lichtfuss, Leesburg, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Camdenton. The Rev. James Fuemmeler will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

HUESTE
Leo H. Hueste Sr., 95, Linn, died Dec. 10, 1999, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.
He was born Dec. 4, 1904, in Loose Creek, a son of John and Gertrude J. Krautz Hueste. He was married Feb. 19, 1927, in St. Louis, to Agnes Johanna Schaefer, who died Sept. 12, 1988.
A lifelong area resident, he attended St. George School in Linn. He was a dairy farmer for many years before retiring in 1969.
He was a member of St. George Church and the American Dairy Association.
Survivors include: five sons, Bernard Hueste, Albert Hueste, Charles Hueste and Ralph Hueste, all of Linn, and Leo Hueste Jr., Jefferson City; two daughters, Marie Oldelehr, Westphalia, and Margaret Fluegel, Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Theresa Hueste and Leoba Hueste, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. George Church. The Rev. Paul Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the St. George Educational Fund or the St. George Activity Center.
SCHLUP
William H. Schlup, 87, California, formerly of Jamestown, died Dec. 11, 1999, at California Care Center.
He was born Dec. 11, 1912, near Jamestown, a son of Henry A. and Lena Seitz Schlup. He was married Sept. 26, 1963, to Ursie Schlup, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a farmer and worked at the Ralston Purina turkey processing plant in California. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Jamestown.
Other survivors include two nephews, Don Schlup, Littleton, Colo., and Hilton Schlup, Le Sueur, Minn.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
BELL
Marcella C. Bell, 79, Jefferson City, died Dec. 11, 1999, at Moniteau Health Care Center, California.
She was born May 14, 1920, in St. Louis, a daughter of William H. and Anna Marie Busekrus Bick. She was married Nov. 29, 1947, in St. Louis, to Charles Bell, who died March 4, 1995.
She graduated from high school in St. Louis and had lived in the Jefferson City area since 1967. A homemaker, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Don Bell, Omaha, Neb., one daughter, Sue Braaten, Kansas City, and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of First United Methodist Church. The Rev. E. Gene Rooney will officiate. The remains were donated to the University of Missouri-Columbia Health Sciences Center.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
CHAMBERS
Joe C. Chambers, 67, Jefferson City, died Dec. 12, 1999, at his home.
He was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Centertown, a son of Golder W. and Velma V. Dove Chambers. He was married June 20, 1986, in the state of Tennessee, to Jana Meyerpeter, who survives at the home.
He graduated from Aurora High School, California, and attended Lincoln University. He also attended the School of Basic Banking, state of Nebraska, and graduated in 1978 from the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
He worked for the Kroger Company in 1954. He worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue in the early 1960s and with Nickerson Farms in the late 1960s.
He worked for Central Bank from 1972 to 1997, retiring as operations manager at Central Motor Bank. He was an Army veteran.
He was a member of Jefferson City Masonic Lodge 43 AF&AM and the Toastmasters Club. He was a former member of First Christian Church.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Donna Quinn, Jefferson City, and Tracy Ann Schad, Cottage Grove, Wis.; one brother, Richard L. Chambers, Centertown; and one sister, Maryland D. Howard, California.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Singleton will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
KUTTENKULER
Rose Gertrude Kuttenkuler, 93, Tipton, died Dec. 11, 1999, at Tipton Manor.
She was born March 17, 1906, in Tipton, a daughter of Henry and Helen Schmidt Franken. She was married Oct. 9, 1928, in Tipton, to John G. Kuttenkuler, who died Feb. 13, 1984.
She was a lifelong Tipton resident. A homemaker , she worked for a short time at United Telephone Company. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and St. Andrew's Altar Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Isabel Wolf, Tipton, five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton. The Rev. Henry Reichert will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. There will be an Altar Society rosary at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew's School.
SOMMERER
Felix Louis Sommerer, 77, Jefferson City, died Dec. 11, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 14, 1922, a son of Adolph M. and Theresa Ehrhardt Sommerer. He was married April 30, 1955, to Carol Belaval, who died Nov. 20, 1996.
A 20-year veteran of the Air Force, he retired in 1965 as a tech sergeant. He continued working for the Air Force as a civilian data processor, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He was a lifetime member of the U.S. Air Force Sergeants Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include: two sons, Mark Sommerer, St. Louis, and Scott Sommerer, Baltimore; three brothers, Vernon Sommerer, St. Louis, Mahlon Sommerer, Oak Grove, and Lloyd Sommerer, Henley; and six sisters, Lillian Kuegele, St. Louis, Majorie Beck, Joliet, Ill., and Beatrice Putnam, Cleopha Howard, Theresa "Lolly" Sommerer and Naomi Vetter, all of Jefferson City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek. The Rev. Russ Bowder will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
