Zelma L. Taylor
(March 29, 1934 - September 29, 2015)

Zelma L. Taylor, age 81, of Monett, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.

She was born March 29, 1934, in Mano, Missouri, the daughter of Benton and Stella (Edwards) Periman. On April 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Lewis Taylor, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2015. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Randall Taylor in 1989; five brothers, Edward, Willard, Alvin, Orville and Delmer and two sisters, Della and Velma.

Surviving are one son, Gaylen Taylor and his wife Sheryl of Piedmont, Missouri; two daughters, Annitta Latshaw and her husband Michael of Monett, Missouri and Janice Greek and her husband Larry of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, J.B. Periman and his wife Mary of Kingsville, Missouri; two sisters, Reva Stanley and her husband Dennis of Sibley, Missouri and Glenna Swearingen and her husband Jerry of Monett, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Zelma attended Mano and Gaddis Schools and Cassville High School. For several years she was employed as a top stitcher at Jumping Jack Shoes in Cassville. Most of her life was spent in Cassville, moving to Monett in 1989. She was a member of Chapel of Grace Church in Monett. Some of her favorite pastimes were decorating, sewing, singing and playing her guitar and writing songs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 3, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jimmie Copley and Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services. Burial will be in Mineral Springs cemetery, Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Hortencia Lara Smith
(December 25, 1944 - September 29, 2015)

Hortencia Smith, age 70, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Cassville, Missouri. She was born December 25, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of Juan and Juanita (Alonso) Lara who preceded her in death.

On August 27, 1959, she was united in marriage to Robert G. Smith who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jesse Lara Smith of Primera, South Texas; three daughters, Mary Helen Smith Ceceñas of Fort Worth, Texas, Nellie Lara Smith and Irma Smith Castillo of Exeter, Missouri; she was very close to grandchild Christy Selena and Joe R., Jr. Castillo and loved Vincente Ceceñas, Rose Ceceñas Cortez, Daniel Ceceñas, Jimmy and Michael Ceceñas, Yevett Smith, Iscac and Issi Smith; one brother Henry Alonso Lara of Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Maria Lara Castillo, Susie Lara Rivera and Herminia Lara Davis all of Lubbock, Texas; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She had been employed for twenty five years at Vollenweider Apple Orchard in Exeter, the Grape Vineyard and Gene and James Cowherd’s Grape Vineyard in Butterfield. Hortencia was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a Catholic Church going, good honest person.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 5, 2015, in St. Edwards Catholic Church, Cassville, Missouri. Father David Miller will conduct the services. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery, Exeter.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

Diana Jean Lancaster
(September 20, 1960 - September 30, 2015)

Diana Jean Lancaster, age 55, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Cassville.

She was born September 20, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Irene Jett, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Vicky.

On August 7, 1988, in Galena, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Sean Lancaster, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth Deadmond of Fulton, Missouri and Eric Peterson of Ft. Riley, Kansas; two daughters, Kimberly Grate and her husband Jay of Lawrence, Kansas and Krystal Phillips of Cassville, Missouri; two brothers, Vic Wilson and his wife Deborah of North Carolina and Dean Wilson of North Carolina; one sister, Susan; a step-sister, Dawn Lindwall and eight grandchildren.

Diana grew up and received her education in the St. Louis area, where she graduated from high school. For several years she resided in Galena and was employed as a med surgery nurse at St. John’s Hospital (now Mercy Hospital) in Springfield. In 2001, she moved to Cassville and attended Crowder College. For seven years she was assistant manager with Bob Evans in Rogers, Arkansas then was general manager for Rowdy Beaver in Cassville. She loved her family and being with them. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A gather of family and friends will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 10, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Betty Jo Martin
(December 14, 1943 - October 1, 2015)

Betty Jo Martin, age 71, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, in Legacy Village Circle of Life, Bentonville, Arkansas.

She was born December 14, 1943, in Busch, Arkansas, the daughter of Jake and Angie (Robinett) Lundy. On May 12, 1962, she was united in marriage to J.D. Martin, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Dennis Martin and his wife Shelly of Seligman, Missouri; one daughter, Teresa Brunell and her fiancé Raymond Westin of Garfield, Arkansas; two brothers, Ben Lundy of Rogers, Arkansas and Ernie Lundy of Bentonville, Arkansas; two sisters, Pearl Patterson of Bentonville, Arkansas and Janie Lorine Beard of Missouri; six grandchildren, Vanessa Burkett and her husband Michael, Travis Brunell, Matt Young, Brittany Martin, Brianna Martin and Cody Parker and three great grandchildren, Landon Aubrey and Mason.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother.

Betty attended schools in Busch, Eureka, Garfield and Rogers. For thirty-three years she was employed at Tyson Food, retiring ten years ago. She was active in the Seligman Senior Center and was a member of MoArk Assembly of God Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 5, 2015, in Seligman cemetery, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.

Beulah "Bea" Forgey Houk
(September 16, 1914 - October 1, 2015)

Beulah “Bea” Elizabeth Forgey Houk died in the early morning on October 1, 2015, at Life Care Center of Sandpoint, Idaho. Born in 1914 in Benton County, Arkansas, she celebrated her 101st birthday on September 16.

Her parents, Charles Augustus and Nancy Adeline Mills were lifetime residents of Benton County. She married Gene Forgey in 1934 and when they later divorced, Beulah moved to Seattle, Washington in 1963. In 1969 she married Frank Houk who passed away in 1983. She remained in Washington State until 2010 when she moved to Idaho to live with her daughter, Vicki.

Beulah is survived by three of her four children: Bill Forgey of Garfield, AR, Linda Follett of Coffeyville, KS, and Vicki Johnson of Sandpoint, ID. Her eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren live in Arizona, Washington, Florida and Tennessee. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters and her son, Bob Forgey, who passed away in Alaska in 2014.

She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl and she “fought the fight, finished her course and kept the faith.”

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 9, 2015, in Ruddick cemetery, Garfield, AR under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.

Roy Michael "Mike" McReynolds
(September 16, 1948 - October 5, 2015)

Roy Michael “Mike” McReynolds (67) was born on September 16, 1948 in Pampa, Texas to Raymond and LaJune McReynolds. He lived a full life with his wife of 45 years, 4 children, and 12 grandchildren before his passing on October 5, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Margy Ann Mayo McReynolds; his mother, LaJune McReynolds of Beaver, Oklahoma; an older sister, Burnell Hall (Jerry) of Forgan, Oklahoma; a younger brother, Greggory McReynolds(Suzie) of Forgan, Oklahoma; his daughter Marsha Johnson (Doug) of Savannah, Missouri; his daughter, Malayna Struckman (Larry) of Grafton, Wisconsin; his daughter, Mandy Shackelford (Rich) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; his son, Matt McReynolds (Trina) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his 12 grandchildren, Lauren, Kaelyn, McClane & Cort Johnson; Spencer, Colton & Presley Struckman; Corinne, Aubrey & Kinsley Shackelford; and Madeline & MacKenzie McReynolds.

Mike has enjoyed Table Rock Lake since his family's first visit in 1959. Mike and Margy became full time residents at Table Rock Lake in 2011. Mike then began a remodel and addition project at the “cabin,” a lifelong dream. He had been creating a vacation playground for the kids and 12 grandkids with swings and a zipline.

Mike was a proud patriot. He loved this country. His father was a WWII combat fighter pilot. Mike did not truly understand all of his dad’s heroism until several years after his father’s death. WWII veterans held a special place in his heart.

If there is an honor roll for hard work and dedication, Mike would be at the top. His legacy is the family he has left behind. Mike’s value system influenced every aspect of his life; his high moral integrity, his response to others and his commitment to his family and goals.

Mike passed away suddenly on October 5, 2015 from a heart attack. He had so many things yet to accomplish. He and Margy were getting ready for another day of work at their beloved vacation cabin. Happy Trails Dad! He will be so very missed by his family; they too are “heart broken.”

A visitation will be held at Fohn Funeral home in Cassville, MO on Wednesday, Oct 7th from 5:00-6:00 pm. A celebration of life will be at the First Baptist Church of Forgan, Oklahoma on Friday, Oct 9th at 3:30 pm with interment immediately following at Forgan cemetery.

Darryl William Braddy
(May 15, 1988 - October 6, 2015)

Darryl William Braddy, age 27, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, Cassville, Missouri.

He was born May 15, 1988, in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of Jacqueline (Jowers) Braddy, who survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Kenneth Braddy of Washburn, Missouri and Jesse Braddy of Lexington, Tennessee; one sister, Jessica Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee; aunts and uncles including Harold and Sandy Porter and cousins.

Darryl grew up and received his education in Tennessee, graduating from high school in Lexington, Tennessee. In May of this year he moved to Washburn to make his home. His favorite pastime was collecting caps.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 8, 2015, in Maplewood cemetery, Exeter, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Lawrence Shuey will conduct the services.

Wilma L. Buchanan
(September 5, 1928 - October 5, 2015)

Wilma L. Buchanan, age 87, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, in Lacoba Nursing Home, Monett, Missouri.

She was born September 5, 1928, in Butterfield, Missouri, the daughter of Roy and Lola (Brown) Bradley. On February 23, 1945, in Berryville, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Darrell Buchanan, who preceded her in death on January 12, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Mary Tucker; mother and father-in-law, Elva and Bertha Buchanan and a nephew, Chuck Tucker.

Surviving are one daughter, Darelene Ash and her husband Larry of Butterfield, Missouri; one son, Dwight Buchanan and his wife Barbara of Joplin, Missouri; one sister, Anna Mae Viney of Purdy, Missouri; five grandchildren, Landon Saunders of Purdy, Missouri, Brandy Easley and her husband Mike of Eagle Rock, Missouri, Laurie Speakman and her husband Todd of Butterfield, Missouri, Scott Buchanan of Baxter Springs, Kansas and Kristy Paul and her husband Shane of Cassville, Missouri; fourteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Wilma received her education in Butterfield and was a lifelong resident of Purdy. She worked at Jumping Jack’s in Monett and Justin Boot retiring in 1980. She was a member of Log Church of God Holiness in Butterfield. Some of her favorite pastimes included painting, gardening and enjoying family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 9, 2015, in Log Church Memorial Gardens, Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Jerry Nickle will conduct the services.

Contributions may be made to Log Church Memorial Gardens in memory of Wilma.

Donna Jean Anderson
(August 17, 1954 - October 15, 2015)

Donna Jean Anderson, age 61, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Circle Of Life Hospice in Rogers.

She was born August 17, 1954, in Belleville, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Dean and Bonnie (Morgan) Phinney. On May 24, 2004, in Bella Vista, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Jamie Lynn Anderson, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Bonnie Clark and her husband Dan of Cassville; one son, Brian Phinney of Avoca, Arkansas; one daughter, Samone Whitney of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one brother, Allen Phinney and his wife Tonna of Cassville, Missouri; one sister, Glenda Dean of Butterfield, Missouri and one grandson, Michael Holley.

Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Dean Phinney.

Donna graduated from high school in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was an overnight stocker at Walmart several years. She had resided in Cassville, Missouri before moving to Rogers, Arkansas in 2010. Some of her favorite pastimes were horseback riding, softball, fishing and video games. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandson.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 16, 2015, in Union cemetery, Stella, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Wes Stewart will conduct the services.
