GAMBLE
William C. Gamble, 76, Jefferson City, died Dec. 17, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1923, in St. Louis, a son of Orlando S. and Elizabeth Bishop Gamble. He was married Dec. 21, 1947, in Jefferson City, to Mary K. Pinet, who survives at the home.
He graduated from high school in St. Louis and received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1949. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
A resident of the Jefferson City area since 1975, he owned and operated Corner Photography for several years.
Other survivors include: one son, Andrew Gamble, Jefferson City; one daughter, Blaine Ryan, Jefferson City; and four grandchildren.
A private family service will be conducted. He donated his remains to the University of Missouri Department of Anatomy for educational and scientific research.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
GOFORTH
Fred W. Goforth, 80, Kansas City, formerly of Dixon, died Dec. 16, 1999, at Senior Estates Nursing, Kansas City.
He was born April 21, 1919, in Dixon, a son of Arendall and Bessie Carter Goforth.
He was a commercial artist in advertising.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Goforth, New Mexico, and two sisters, Fern Hart and Helen Sanderson, both of Kansas City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, Dixon. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
WEGMAN
Pauline Margaret Wegman, 85, Westphalia, died Dec. 15, 1999, at Westphalia Retirement Center.
She was born April 14, 1914, in Westphalia, a daughter of Henry and Mary Buersmeyer Schauwecker. She was married Oct. 21, 1941, in Westphalia, to Frank F. Wegman, who died Dec. 15, 1992.
She was a correspondent for the Unterrified Democrat, Linn, and a receptionist at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, St. Ann Sodality, St. Joseph Sewing Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, Western Catholic Union, and Westphalia Historical Society.
Survivors include two sisters, Martina Holterman, Westphalia, and Christine Persell, Arcadia, Calif.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
EAST
Melbourne "Duke" East, 71, Osage Beach, died Dec. 16, 1999, at Lake Regional Health Center.
He was born Nov. 23, 1928, in Jenette, a son of Aaron and Merytel Sample East.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a truck driver for P.I.E., Jacksonville, Fla.
Survivors include three nephews, Robert Pipkin, Robin East and Tom Bailey, and one niece, Sue Meinking.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Maxcus Memorial Park Cemetery, Fredericktown, with full military honors under the direction of VFW Post 4320, Fredericktown.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
BELLMER
Harry L. Bellmer, 74, Osage Beach, died Dec. 18, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Oct. 18, 1925, in Carlinville, Ill., a son of James and Catherine Daley Bellmer. He was married Nov. 15, 1947, in Benld, Ill., to Margaret Lesicko, who survives at the home.
He owned and operated Bridgeport Boats and Motors, Osage Beach, for the past 23 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Ozark. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge in Osage Beach and the VFW Post in Linn Creek.
Other survivors include: five sons, Jack Bellmer, Springfield, Ill., Bill Bellmer, Osage Beach, Tom Bellmer, Overland Park, Kan., and Bart Bellmer and Larry Bellmer, both of Lake Ozark; three daughters, Patti Kauffman and Nancy Bakke, both of Springfield, Ill., and Jeannie Bellmer, Osage Beach; one sister, Barbara Flesch, Springfield, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Jim Bellmer, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Mike Wilbers will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Cemetery, Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
KEATING
Edward Keating, 57, Bonnots Mill, died Dec. 18, 1999, at Oak View Living Center.
He was born Sept. 23, 1942, in St. Louis, a son of Joseph E. and Ruth Mary Jost Keating. His stepfather, Robert Leclaire, survives in Vienna.
A member of Knights of Columbus, he owned and operated Ed Keating Contractors in St. Louis.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Julie Unger, Russellville, and Barbara Luebbert, Jefferson City; two brothers, William Keating, Arnold, and Michael Keating Sr., Winfield; one half brother, Chaim Leclaire, Vienna; two sisters, Mary Ann Childress, Festus, and Rose Mary LeCure, Bonnots Mill; five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
One son, Edward Keating, died in 1971.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. Kevin Clohessy will officiate. Burial will be in Cadet Creek Cemetery, Bonnots Mill.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Edward Keating's Grandchildren Educational Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
SPARKS
Lowell W. Sparks, 78, California, Mo., formerly of Mattoon, Ill., died Dec. 18, 1999, at California Care Center.
He was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Mattoon, a son of Alfred A. and Essie Madora Gentry Sparks. He was married Dec. 28, 1941, in Mattoon, to Ruth Charlene McGinnis, who survives in California.
He graduated from Mattoon Senior High School and served in the Army during World War II. He was a laborer and a member of First Christian Church in Mattoon.
Other survivors include: three sons, Richard Sparks, University Park, Md., Joe Sparks, San Diego, and Darrin Sparks, Ward, Ark.; five daughters, Janet Gower, Houston, Texas , Hollene Ferguson, Atlanta, Susan Milburn, Ladoga, Ind., RoseEllen Hoff, California, and Shelley Ryan, Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Beulah Cox and Ellen Reed, both of Mattoon; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, Mattoon. The Rev. Ronald Milburn and the Rev. RoseEllen Hoff will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon.
Visitation will be from noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.

STONE
Farron L. Stone, 37, Jefferson City, died Dec. 18, 1999, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
He was born May 6, 1962, in Tuscumbia, a son of Rolland L. and Reba Kay Duncan. His parents survive in Tuscumbia. He was married Oct. 9, 1998, in the Jamaican Islands, to Sheri L. Perry, who survives at the home.
He was a member of Eldon Assembly of God.
Other survivors include: one son, Jeremy Stone, Eldon; one daughter, Amber Stone, Eldon; and three sisters, Macher Davis, Austin, Ind., Lynne Cadorette, Hendersonville, Tenn., and Toni Burks, Tuscumbia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Beuna Huffman will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Heart Institute, Columbia.
YORK
Kamryn Rose York, stillborn daughter of Kris and Kay York, Crocker, died Dec. 17, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
Other survivors include: one sister, Kelsi York, of the home; paternal grandmother, Janice York, Crocker; maternal grandparents, Bill and Sally Uherka, Crocker; paternal great-grandparents, Don and Genny Atherton, Crocker; paternal great-grandmother, Rose York, Crocker; maternal great-grandfather, Richard Link, Crocker; and maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Eagle, Poplar, Mont.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Crocker. The Rev. Doug Jacobson and Brother Rick Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Crocker Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
CAIN
Services were Saturday for Cloyd E. "Bubby" Cain, 67, Jefferson City, who died Dec. 15, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born July 22, 1932, in Hartford, a son of George T. and Eva Hester Mullenix Cain. He was married April 21, 1961, in Queen City, to Sandra Jean Yates, who died June 13, 1999.
He attended Martinstown, Graysville and Unionville schools. He was a Navy veteran of the Korea War, and he served in the Naval Reserves from 1955 to 1959. He worked at John Morrell, Ottumwa; he was a truck driver and farm hand for several years. He worked at McGraws, Kirksville; Western's Implement, Queen City; and then at Donaldson's, where he worked for 17 years. He then drove an over-the-road truck. In 1991, he moved to Jefferson City and for the last two years he worked as an attendant at the Spotless 179 Car Wash.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 380 A.F. & F.M., the Lions Club and VFW Post 2508, Kirksville. He had served on the Queen City City Council.
Survivors include: three sons, Randy Cain, Urbandale, Iowa, Breck Cain, Kalona, Iowa, and Terry Cain, Jefferson City; two daughters, Mary Rochon Lay, Centertown, and Sherri Corbett, Columbia; two sisters, Georgia Louise Bergmeier and Lois Swann, both of Kirksville; one brother, Ronnie Cain, Queen City; and 11 grandchildren.
Services were at Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City. The Rev. Don Rowland officiated. Burial, with military honors, was in Queen City Cemetery.
