EMMERICH

Charles "Pete" Emmerich Jr., 60, Henley, died Dec. 18, 1999, at his home.

He was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Henley, a son of Charles and Flossie Honaker Emmerich Sr. His mother survives in Henley.

He worked for several trucking companies as a driver and also as a construction worker. He owned and operated Central Building Stone Co., Cedar City. He retired in 1984.

Other survivors include: two sons, Roger Emmerich, Henley, and Charles "Chuck" Emmerich, Eldon; two daughters, Cindi Griffey, Eldon, and Janet Ehnen, St. Joseph; one sister, Shirley Fleber, Henley; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Truman Hodge will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Garden Cemetery, Eugene.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

HARGUS

Juveileen Hargus, 74, Springfield, died Dec. 14, 1999, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Springfield.

She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Charles E. and Taney L. Hankins Hargus.

A former resident of Ash Grove, she was a member of Center Baptist Church, Ash Grove. She had been a member of South Haven Baptist Church and was a member of Hamlin Baptist Church, both in Springfield.

Survivors include one sister, Taney Jean German.

Private graveside services were held in Ash Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Swadley officiated.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove.

HERX

Nancy A. Herx, 53, Eldon, died Dec. 19, 1999, at her home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Dixon, to Otto B. and Ruby E. McKinnon Clark. Her mother survives in Eldon. She was married Nov. 14, 1964, in St. Anthony, to Tom J. Herx, who survives at the home.

She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon. She worked as a bookkeeper.

Other survivors include: two sons, Tommy B. Herx, Barnett, and Timmy J. Herx, of the home; one daughter, Theresa A. Baughman, Mora; one sister, Helen Taylor, Barnett; one brother, Gary Clark, Eldon; and four grandchildren.

One daughter, Michelle Lynn Herx, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, The American Cancer Society or the Missouri River Hospice.

HISE

Myrtle M. Hise, 67, California, died Dec. 19, 1999, at Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.

She was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Boyd, Ala., a daughter of Horace and Bessie Sellers Tims. Her mother survives in California. She was married March 22, 1955, in Tupelo, Miss., to S.T. Hise, who died Sept. 20, 1998.

She was a waitress for the Nic Nac Cafe for many years. She was a Baptist.

Other survivors include: two sons, Steve Hise, Phoenix, Arix., and Ken Hise,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Patty Hartman, California; one brother, Melvin Tims, Carson City, Nev.; two sisters, Nettie Stice and Ethel Bolin, California; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. John Kerr will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri, 601 E. High St.,  Jefferson City, MO 65101.

LORAINE

Helen M. Loraine, 88, Lake Ozark, died Dec. 19, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.

She was born Feb. 15, 1911, in St. Louis, a daughter of John and Maime Tierney Groezinger. She was married in St. Louis to Earl "Bud" Loraine, who died in 1966.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Ozark, and the church's Half Century Club. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Loraine, Lake Ozark, and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Mike Wilber will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Memorials are suggested to the School of the Osage Scholarship Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

WALKER

Beulah F. Walker, 76,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 19, 1999, at St. John's Medical Center, Springfield.

She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Laquay, a daughter of Ora M. and Laura Walters Anderson. She was married Oct. 16, 1940, in Greenfield, to William R. "Bob" Walker, who died Sept. 5, 1983.

A resident of the  Jefferson City area since 1950, she attended Waynesville High School, Waynesville. She was employed as a supply clerk with the U.S.P. & F.O. of the Missouri Army National Guard for more than 31 years before her retirement in 1981.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert "Danny" Walker,  Jefferson City, and Roger Burl Walker, Osage Beach; two daughters, Sandra K. Walker,  Jefferson City, and Roberta Gardine Dale, St. Louis; three sisters, Marjorie Bandy, Nixa, Norma Lee Mihalevich, Crocker, and Mildred Rollins, Springfield; one brother, Earl Anderson, Williamsburg, Kan.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Kenneth Bandy will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Allison Cain Medical Fund.

SMITH

Georgie Marie Smith, 70, Holts Summit, died Dec. 18, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born April 3, 1929, in Rosebud, a daughter of Luther F. and Edith Florence Hollandsworth Ficke. She was married Sept. 28, 1944, in  Jefferson City, to August Junior Smith, who died Nov. 15, 1998.

She attended Tea-Bircher School, Rosebud, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. A homemaker, she was employed at Oberman Pants Factory, International Shoe Company and Chesebrough-Ponds, Inc. until her retirement.

Survivors include: one son, Tommy Lee Smith,  Jefferson City; three daughters, Judie Marie Hurt, Centertown, and Jerrey Mae Hiatte and Rose Mary Kusch, both of Holts Summit; two sisters, Zella Mae Jones, Owensville, and Arline Roark, St. Clair; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. George Scantlin will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

EDWARDS

Noah Paul Edwards, 92, Grinnell, Iowa, formerly of Ashland, died Dec. 20, 1999, at Grinnell Regional Hospital.

He was born Nov. 11, 1907, in Ashland, a son of Lot and Dora Sapp Edwards. He was married March 23, 1931, to Emma Wyman. He was married in 1959 to Mary Forbis, who died in 1975.

He was a farmer in Ashland and worked as a clerk in a local grocery store until his retirement. He was a member of the Ashland Baptist Church where he served as head usher for more than 40 years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Doris Calvin, Grinnell, and Rita Christian, Memphis, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Betty Johnson, Ashland; one sister, Ruth Harmon, Ashland; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Twin daughters preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ashland Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim West will officiate. Burial will be in Nashville Church Cemetery, Columbia.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home, Ashland.

Memorials are suggested to Ashland Baptist Church and Nashville Church Cemetery.

SCHRULL

Alice O. Schrull, 83,  Jefferson City, died Dec. 20, 1999, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Bonnots Mill, a daughter of Edward and Mathilda Wolfe Luadzers. She was married June 22, 1944, in Rockford, Ill., to Delbert L. Schrull, who died Oct. 17, 1987.

A graduate of St. Peters School, she returned to the  Jefferson City area in 1980. She was a homemaker.

Other survivors include: one stepdaughter, Shirley Haskell Kopper, Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Archie Luadzers, St. Martins, and Delmar Luadzers and Delbert Luadzers, both of  Jefferson City; four step grandchildren and 16 step great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the Villa Marie Nursing Center Building Fund, or to Camp Quality.
