JOHNSON

Norma "Ruth" Johnson, 65, Bloomington, Ind., died Dec. 28, 1999, at Bloomington Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1934, in Brown County, Ind., a daughter of John and Lovell Chafin Followell. She was married to James Johnson, who survives in Bloomington.

She was a retired employee of Sears, Roebuck and Company. She also worked at Sam's Club and the cafeteria at Clear Creek Elementray School. She was a member of Handy Ridge Word of Faith Church.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Susan Johnson, Bloomington, and Melanie Black,  Jefferson City; one son, Scott Johnson, Bloomington; two sisters, Lorena Followell and Sue Followell, both of Nashville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one step great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Allen Funeral Home, Bloomington. Pastor Gib Niswander and the Rev. Willard Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and from 2-8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Handy Ridge Word of Faith Church.

MICNERSKI

Services were Dec. 20 for Chester J. Micnerski, 79, Richland, who died Dec. 17, 1999, in Springfield.

He was born June 12, 1920, in Cicero, Ill. He was married in 1942 to Hazel Anderson, who survives.

He attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Cicero. He moved to Chicago after World War II. In 1982 he retired to Richland. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Camdenton.

He was employed at Swift and Company, Chicago. He also worked as a deputy for Cook County Sheriff Department, Chicago. He started the Park View Civic Association, Chicago.

A World War II veteran, he was a member of American Legion, Chicago; and VFW, Richland.

Other survivors include: three sons, Roger Micnerski, Greenwood, Ind., Gary Micnerski, Richland, and Denis Micnerski, Chicago; one daughter, Sharon Coleman, Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Faye Schuster and Mary Cichon, both of Cicero.; and four grandchildren.

Services were at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland. The Rev. James Fuemmeler officiated. Burial was in Micnerski Ranch, Richland.

SANDWEG

Fred E. Sandweg, 87, Argyle, died Dec. 28, 1999, at Westphalia Retirement Center.

He was born Dec. 29, 1911, in St. Louis. He was married June 27, 1936, in St. Charles, to Mary Agnes Henrichs, who survives at the home.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 2047, both of Argyle. He was superintendent at Mound City Ice and Cold Storage, St. Louis, for 42 years, retiring in 1974.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Margaret Harmon, Elmwood, Ill.; one brother, Leroy Sandweg, Florissant; one sister, Lillian Hughes, Ferguson; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle. The Rev. Mike Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Aloysius Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.

SCHAUMBURG

Ruth Ann Schaumburg, 65, Lake Ozark, died Dec. 29, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.

She was born May 12, 1934, in St. Louis, a daughter of Fred and Esther Kuhlman Hollmann. She was married July 21, 1962, to Jack Schaumburg, who survives at the home.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Osage Beach; Lake Ozark Jazz Club and Old Timers/New Comers.

Other survivors include: two sons, Timothy Schaumburg, Columbia, and Ken Schaumburg, Camdenton; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Hope Lutheran Church, Osage Beach. The Rev. John Dautenhahn will officiate. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Garden Cemetery, Osage Beach.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Joint Concordia Fund, c/o Hope Lutheran Church, Osage Beach.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.

WELCH

Keith Welch, 42, Jamestown, died Dec. 29, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 26, 1957, in  Jefferson City, a son of Clarence and Darlene Farmer Welch. He was married Sept. 22, 1979, in Westphalia, to Barbara Linnenbrink, who survives at the home.

He attended California Public School. He owned and operated Keith and Sons Salvage Company.

Other survivors include: three sons, Jeremy Welch, Josh Welch and John Welch, all of Jamestown; one brother, Frank Welch, McGirk; four sisters, Diana Fletcher and Rita Lindenbusch, both of  Jefferson City, Brenda Hood, Springfield, and Faith Dippohd, Taos; and his paternal grandmother, Irene Welch, Lohman.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Ed Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martins Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Keith Welch Memorial Fund, c/o Weber and Sons Funeral Home, 211 S. Oak St., California, Mo. 65018.

WYSS

Zora A. Wyss, 74, California, died Dec. 29, 1999, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Moniteau County, a daughter of William L. and Beulah Turner Wyss.

A registered nurse, she served in the Army Nurses Corp during World War II. She was a member of Moniteau Advent United Church of Christ.

Survivors include one niece, Mary Ann Polowy,  Jefferson City, and one nephew, Robin Wyss,  Jefferson City.

There will be no visitation and no services are planned.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

VEATCH

Norwood E. Veatch Sr., 84, Lake Ozark, died Dec. 30, 1999, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born July 30, 1915, in Mount Vernon, Ill., a son of Earl and Dora Veatch. He was married Jan. 1, 1936, in Vincennes, Ind., to Frances J. Clifton, who survives in Lake Ozark.

He was a member of Osage Beach Elks Lodge and VFW. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Ozark, and was retired from manufacturing children's amusement rides.

Other survivors include: one son, Norwood E. Veatch Jr., Lake Ozark; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, Barnett.

Visitation will be private.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.

BAXTER

Elda Muriel Baxter, 78, Raytown, formerly of Versailles, died Dec. 30, 1999, at Cedar Valley Nursing Home, Raytown.

She was born April 19, 1921, in Howards Ridge, a daughter of Lewis D. and Elsie Mae Barnett Stutsman. She was married June 28, 1941, to Bonnie Robert Baxter, who died July 3, 1983.

A member of United Methodist Church, Versailles, she worked at Kansas City Bifocal, Versailles, and was a cook at Versailles Elementary School. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: three sons, Robert Baxter, Kansas City, and Lyle Baxter and Gary Baxter, both of Raytown; two daughters, Linda Green, Independence, and Shirley Baxter, Baker City, Ore.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Homes, Versailles. The Rev. Gary DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday.

BRYANT

Bobby J. Bryant, 69, California, died Dec. 30, 1999, at his home.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, near McGirk, a son of Emmett L. and Maude Belle Kirchoff Bryant. His mother survives in California. He was married June 5, 1953, in  Jefferson City, to Harriet Ellen Abbott, who survives at the home.

He worked for the Department of Agriculture until his retirement. He currently was employed with Missouri State Department of Agriculture in the Animal Health Division.

He was a member of California United Church of Christ, where he taught Working Class Christians Sunday School Class. He was a member of the choir, the men's brotherhood and a past member of the Consistory. He had been a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir and deacon and elder at First Christian Church, California.

He served on the Moniteau County School Board and California R-I School Board. He had assisted with Show-Me 4-H Club and was president of McGirk Community Building Association and McGirk Cemetery Association. He was member and secretary of California Kiwanis Club, member of California VFW Post 4345 and was on the board of German-Salem Insurance Company.

He was a 1948 graduate of California High School and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael E. Bryant, Bolingbrook, Ill., and Kenneth A. Bryant, California; one daughter, Janice L. Davis, California; one brother, James E. Bryant, California; and four granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by one son, Philip Bryant.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at California United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in McGirk Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

Memorials are suggested to McGirk Community Building Association, c/o Ruby Kuhlman, treasurer, 607 South Cooper St., California, Mo. 65018 or California United Church of Christ Building Fund, 101 North Oak St., California, Mo. 65018.

CARLSON

Rosemary Carlson, 80, Osage Beach, died Dec. 30, 1999, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Chicago, a daughter of Frank and Margaret Larocco Varallo. She was married June 17, 1938, in Chicago, to Howard Carlson, who survives at home.

She was a teacher for the Chicago Public School System for 38 years until her retirement. She was a member of Old Timers/New Comers, Osage Beach.

Other survivors include one daughter, Carol Cimmarusti, Lake Saint Louis, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. John Dautenhahn will officiate. The body will be cremated.

Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Shriners Hospital.

DYE

James W. Dye, 47, Tuscumbia, died Dec. 30, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.
