JESTER
Willard N. Jester, 87, Eldon, died Jan. 1, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1912, in Hoecker, a son of William P. and Alvie Carrender Jester. He was married in California on Oct. 2, 1933, to Muriel Enloe, who died March 25, 1990. He was married Nov. 3, 1991, to Stella E. Ekstam Pierce, who survives at the home.
He owned and operated a welding shop in Mt. Pleasant for a number of years. He owned and operated Jester Steel and Aluminum Products of Eldon for several years. He was employed in 1960 for the Missouri Department of Corrections as a metal plant foreman, retiring in 1975. He then built and operated a mobile home court named Court Jester on Highway CC near Jefferson City. He had formerly served the Etterville Christian Church as minister.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Joann Jett, Versailles, Darlene Adcock and Donna Kliethermes, both of Eldon; one step-son, Dennis Pierce, Russellville; one sister, Ruth Davis, Eldon; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Etterville Christian Church. The Revs. Borys Boyuk, Robert Jones and Bill Petet will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery, Hickory Hill.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
Memorials are suggested to the Etterville Christian Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
MANES
Mabel L. Manes, 86, Eldon, died Jan. 1, 2000, at Eldon Healthcare Center.
She was born July 2, 1913, in Lawrence, Kan., a daughter of William A. and Pearl Margaret West Curtiss. She was married April 27, 1940, in Linn Creek, to Rollins Manes, who died Aug. 5, 1976.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Nile Chapter Ruhamah, Temple 71, Pueblo, Colo.; Topaz Chapter 27, Order of the Eastern Star, Salida, Colo.; and Eldon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Joe Curtiss, Eldon, and William A. Curtiss Jr., Houston, Texas .
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Fred Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Eldon United Methodist Church.
WELSH
David "Pa-Bear" Welsh, 45, Versailles, died Jan. 1, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Torrance, Calif., a son of Jack P. and Laura Jane Chester Welsh. His father survives in the state of California. He was married Nov. 6, 1999, to Maryann Ilene Reinhart, who survives at the home.
Other survivors include: one brother, Kenneth Welsh, state of California.
The remains were cremated. Services will be private.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
GOETZ
Alma E. Goetz, 78, Jefferson City, died Jan. 3, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Cole County, a daughter of Mathias and Mathilda Kempker Goetz.
She attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Honey Creek, and worked on her family's farm in the Brazito area. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek.
Survivors include: one brother, Cletus Goetz, Jefferson City; and four sisters, Frieda Siebeneck, Jefferson City, Helen Andres, Henley, Clara Miller, Jefferson City, and Lorene Innes, Hammond, Ind.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russell Bowder will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
SMITH
Evelyn Ragain Smith, 80, Jefferson City, died Jan. 2, 2000, at her home.
She was born April 5, 1919, in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of Efmer B. and Emma Frances Moore Ragain. She was married Sept. 11, 1965, in Jefferson City, to Lester M. Smith, who died Aug. 18, 1999.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, she was president of Cole County Abstract and the first woman member of the Board of Directors of Missouri Land Title Association. She received an award for excellence of service from Jefferson City Board of Realtors, an award for distinguished and meritorious service from Missouri Land Title Association, and an award in support of philanthropy from Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include: one son, Donald L. Smith, Jefferson City; one sister, Lucy E. Tracy, Jefferson City; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City. The Rev. Mindy Kiepe will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Lion's Eye Tissue Bank or Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
COFFEY
Charles L. Coffey, 81, Camdenton, died Jan. 2, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1918, near Macks Creek, a son of Autis B. Edith Toby Coffey. He was married Aug. 18, 1957, in Wathena, Kan., to Ellen Moss, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a recruit trainer at Fort Leonard Wood, a truck driver, and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Greenview.
Survivors include: three sons, Jerry R. Coffey, Camdenton, James L. Coffey, Mansfield, Ohio, and Daniel K. Coffey, Fort Wayne, Ind.; one brother, Russell Glen Coffey, Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Ila Lister, Climax Springs; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church. Pastor Robin D. Fish will officiate. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Greenview, with full military honors provided by Zack Wheat American Legion Post 624.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

CONNOLLY
Richard "Rick" Connolly, 71, Crocker, died Dec. 31, 1999, at General Leonard Wood United States Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood.
He was born May 23, 1928, in St. Paul, Minn., a son of Richard and Dorothy Herrick Connolly. He was married Sept. 27, 1975, in Crocker, to Minnie Susuki, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of Korea and Vietnam, he attained the rank of sergeant first class. A licensed ham radio operator, he was a member of Rolla Regional Amateur Radio Society, Crocker VFW Post 4956, and Waynesville Lodge 375 AF & AM.
Other survivors include: one stepson, Bill Towns, Newburg; one sister, Donna Maas, Oakdale, Minn.; and three step grandchildren.
One son, Roland Connolly, and one stepson, Wallace Towns, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, Crocker. Bro. Rick Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Crocker Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Crocker Christian Church Building Fund.
GLOVER
Richard J. "Rick" Glover, 41, St. Louis, formerly of Jefferson City, died Jan. 2, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 17, 1958, in St. Louis, a son of John R. and Jane Roberts Glover. He was married to Eunice M. Keller, who survives at the home.
A former funeral director in Jefferson City, he was active in Boy Scouts of America and Rotary International. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.
Other survivors include: two sons, John R. Glover and Alex L. Glover, both of the home; one brother, Andrew Glover, Oscaloosa, Iowa; and one sister, Margaret Ruvalcaba, Columbia.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ambruster Donnelly Funeral Home, St. Louis. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Boy Scouts of America or the Humane Society.
HACKER
Ida M. Hacker, 93, Jefferson City, died Jan. 3, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 2, 1907, in Chamois, a daughter of Emil A. Sr. and Lena Flora Stephan Topel. She was married Nov. 6, 1938, in St. Louis, to Harry F. Hacker, who died Sept. 24, 1979.
A graduate of Chamois High School, she was an executive secretary in the St. Louis area for many years. She had attended the St. John United Church of Christ in Chamois.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John United Church of Christ. The Rev. Deborah Pope will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
