HOGAN

Maxine C. Hogan, 79, Versailles, died Jan. 5, 2000, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia.

She was born June 28, 1920, in Blockton, Iowa, a daughter of Frank A. and Iva Hooker Higgins. She was married July 11, 1967, in Versailles, to Cecil Hogan, who died Feb. 5, 1981.

She was a machine operator at Brown Shoe Company, Versailles, and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one brother, Cecil Higgins, Fortuna; and four sisters, Darlene Kinsey, Versailles, Willa Juliano, Fortuna, Catherine Chaser, Marysville, Calif., and Doris Mae Higgins, Wheaton, Ill.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Homes, Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

MELTABARGER

Glenda Fern Meltabarger, 76, Eldon, died Jan. 6, 2000, at Eldon Healthcare.

She was born March 21, 1923, in St. Francis County, a daughter of George and Della Raby Burch. She was married Jan. 26, 1957, in St. Louis, to John Meltabarger, who survives at the home.

She was a member of Miller County VFW Post 2442 Ladies Auxiliary, Eldon.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Dorothy Johnson, Potosi, Gail Oliver, Eldon, and Patti Watkins, Pueblo, Colo.; one son, Bruce Watkins, Pueblo; two sisters, Doris Umfleet and Patricia Terry, both of Fenton; three brothers, Robert Burch, Tacoma, Wash., Warren Burch, Caldwell, Idaho, and Calvin Burch, Farmington; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

One son preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, near Meta.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Saturday.

REYNOLDS

Jack M. Reynolds, Lt. Col. Ret., 65, Clinton, died Jan. 6, 2000.

He was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Henry County, a son of Clyde B. and Helen Hand Reynolds. His mother, Helen Wood, survives in Clinton. He was married to Mary Jo Embry Reynolds, who survives in Clinton. He was married May 1, 1976, to Pam Crowder, who survives at the home.

He was field supervisor for the State Water Patrol in  Jefferson City. He also served as Windsor chief of police and Henry County sheriff.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jack M. Reynolds Jr., Gladstone, and Vance L. Reynolds, Clinton; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at Consalus Funeral Home, Clinton.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.

VOSS

Augusta Marie "Gussie" Voss, 95,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 6, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born March 9, 1904, in Linn, a daughter of August and Elizabeth Kloeppel Paschal. She was married Oct. 18, 1922, in St. Louis, to Frank Gerhard Voss Sr., who died April 29, 1993.

A graduate of St. George Catholic School, Linn, she and her husband co-owned Voss Market,  Jefferson City. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral and Women's Association. She was a charter member of Charles Still Hospital Guild,  Jefferson City Lions Club, Hawthorne Garden Club and Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. William H. Voss Sr.,  Jefferson City; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Frank G. Voss Jr. and Patrick J. Voss, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Dan Merz will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Home for the Aged or the Helias Foundation.

WILMSMEYER

William August Wilmsmeyer, 52, Fulton, died Jan. 6, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Callaway County, a son of William H. and Lottie Boeger Wilmsmeyer. He was married to Susan Wilmsmeyer Estes, who died Sept. 13, 1994.

He attended school in Callaway County and worked for Paul Herring Construction.

Survivors include: three daughters, April Wilmsmeyer, Sarah Wilmsmeyer and Loretta Adams, all of Fulton; one stepson, Floyd Allen, Fulton; four sisters, Ruth Barnes, Susan Butcher and Mary Salmons, all of Fulton, and Anna Allen, New Bloomfield; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Weldon Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. Saturday.

SNYDER

Stephen Clay Snyder, 52,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born July 28, 1947, in Kansas City, a son of Raymond J. and Ella Lee Moreland Snyder. He was married Aug. 9, 1969, in Lima, Ohio, to Margaret Ellen McDonald, who survives.

A graduate of Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked with the Jackson County Assessor Office, Kansas City, and was appointed as a judge for the Missouri State Tax Commission by Gov. Christopher Bond. He then worked as a private tax consultant and was employed by the Cole County Assessor's0 Office.

Other survivors include: one son, Joseph John Snyder,  Jefferson City; one daughter, Julia Lynn LePage, Lewisville, Texas ; one brother, John Allen Snyder, Blue Springs; one sister, Sharon Long, El Dorado Springs; and one grandchild.

Private family services will be held.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buescher Memorial Home.

BAHR

Margaret A. Bahr, 78, Jamestown, died Jan. 7, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born Sept. 27, 1921, near Bonnots Mill, a daughter of John and Augusta Evers Brester. She was married July 31, 1940, in Linn, to Charles A. Bahr, who died March 3, 1995.

A sales clerk for Shell and Wards,  Jefferson City, she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Jamestown, California Chapter 521 Order of the Easter Star, and Past Matron at Jamestown Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include: two sons, Carl Bahr, St. Louis, and John Bahr,  Jefferson City; one brother, James Brester,  Jefferson City; one sister, Joan Bumberry, St. Louis; and one granddaughter.

Two infant sons preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. The Rev. Jerry Moon will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery,  Jefferson City.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church, Jamestown, Mo. 65046, or California Chapter 521 Order of the Easter Star, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 South Oak St., California, Mo. 65018.

BRYANT

Ralph Lee Bryant, 73, Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of  Jefferson City, died Jan. 5, 2000, at his home.

He was born April 19, 1926, in Kansas City, a son of Harry L. and Helen Davies Bryant. He was married in 1971 to Helga Streuwer.

A graduate of the University of Missouri and George Washington University, he worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, Washington , D.C., and was staff director for the Colorado Legislature's Joint Budget Committee and fiscal affairs director for the Missouri Legislature.

He was a member of the Society of Cincinnati, City Club of Denver, Colo., and Foothills Unitarian Church, Fort Collins.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Foothills Unitarian Church, Fort Collins.

Memorials are suggested to the Community Foundation of Fort Collins, c/o Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, Colo. 80524.

CARROLL

Carol Jean Carroll, 57, New Bloomfield, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Kansas City, a daughter of Thomas and Dorothy Mae Beattie. She was married July 1, 1961, in Kansas City, to John Robert Carroll, who died Jan. 7, 2000.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie Marlene King, Great Falls, Mont., and Debbie Jean Dawson, New Bloomfield; one son, John Robert Carroll Jr., Kingdom City; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jasper Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Tol Wood Cemetery, Eldon.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

CARROLL

John R. Carroll Sr., 61, New Bloomfield, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Sidon, Ark., a son of Jesse R. and Frances Ellen Hughes Carroll. He was married July 1, 1961, in Kansas City, to Carol Jean Thomas, who died Jan. 7, 2000.

He worked at Westinghouse.

Survivors include: two daughters, Vickie Marlene King, Great Falls, Mont., and Debbie Jean Dawson, New Bloomfield; one son, John Robert Carroll Jr., Kingdom City; two brothers, Billy Don Carroll, Auxvasse, and Kenneth Michael Carroll, New Bloomfield; two sisters, Pat Conner, Lake Ozark, and Betty Joyce Lee, Prattsville, Ala.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jasper Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Tol Wood Cemetery, Eldon.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
