STRONG
Lloyd E. "Bud" Strong, 80, Jefferson City, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Marshfield, a son of Tom C. and Emma Grieb Strong. He was married Feb. 8, 1947, in California, Mo., to Helen C. Jones, who died Jan. 10, 1999.
A graduate of Jefferson City High School, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. He co-founded Strong Brothers and Tharp Lumber Companies in 1946. He owned and operated Strong Lumber and Hardware and Strong-Elley Lumber and Hardware Company for many years. He later worked for Montgomery Ward and Tharp Lumber Company.
He was a member, elder and deacon at First Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Pearl Harbor Association.
Survivors include: one son, Thomas G. Strong, Jefferson City; and two sisters, Vivian Tharp and Bettie Gaines, both of Jefferson City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. R.W. Beard will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Brazito.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation.
RICHARDSON
Rose Rachel Richardson, 79, Jefferson City, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Sept. 18, 1920, in Baconville, N.Y., a daughter of John and Rose Demetro. She was married in 1940 in Kansas City to John Richardson, who died in October 1975.
She worked for Adkins Services as a housekeeper at Westinghouse for about 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one son, Jim Richardson, Jefferson City, and one grandson.
Private family graveside services will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, near Hartsburg.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home.
SURFACE
Nelda Margaret Surface, 78, Jefferson City, died Jan. 8, 2000, at her home.

BOLTON
Norma Jean Bolton, 57, Fulton, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born April 26, 1942, in Fulton, a daughter of Kurtzy and Alta Adams Frey. She was married Nov. 19, 1960, in Fulton, to Wiley Roger Bolton, who survives at the home.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and worked at Kingdom Nursing Home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Roger Bolton, Neal Bolton and Kevin Bolton, all of Fulton; one daughter, Tammy Clark, Fulton; two brothers, Kenneth Frey and Homer Frey, both of Fulton; two sisters, Constance Bowen and Dariene Lander, both of Fulton; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church, Fulton. The Rev. Mike Haldeman will officiate. Entombment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
EDZARDS
Clarence John Edzards, 88, Stover, died Jan. 9, 2000, at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.
He was born May 12, 1911, in Emery, S.D., a son of John and Grace Buseman Edzards. He was married Sept. 6, 1939, in LeMars, Iowa, to Matilda Eva Wieman, who survives at the home.
He was co-owner of a grain elevator in Emery, where he also raised cattle. He moved to Stover in 1951 and started a cattle and farm machinery business which he operated until 1991.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Emery, and attended First Baptist Church, Stover.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Edzards, Stover; two daughters, Mardella Raines, Versailles, and Bonita Edzards, Kansas City; one sister, Esther Olson, Camdenton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Stover. The Rev. Jim Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Stover.
FLOYD
Services were Sunday for Jordan Anthony Floyd, infant son of Anthony T. and Tina Marie Evers Floyd, Camdenton, who died Jan. 7, 2000, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
He was born Nov. 29, 1999, in Springfield. His parents survive at the home.
Other survivors include: maternal grandparents Edward and Susan Evers, Camdenton; paternal grandparents, Jim and Nancy Floyd, New Melle, and Dallas and Marilyn Draffen, Kennett; four great-grandmothers, Nadine McComb, Viola Draffen, Ina Floyd and Helen Evers; and one great-grandfather, Elroy Lorenz.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Joshua Todd Floyd, who died Dec. 5, 1999.
Graveside services were held at Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. The Rev. James Fuemmeler officiated.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.
GRAVES
Thomas Tyson Graves, 16, Tuscumbia, died Jan. 8, 2000, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident between Tuscumbia and Iberia.
He was born Dec. 30, 1983, in Jefferson City, a son of Thomas M. "Monty" and Stephanie Laura Howard Graves. His parents survive at the home.
He was a sophomore at Tuscumbia High School, where he was a member of FFA, Drama Club and the National Honor Society. He was a student council officer and a varsity letterman in basketball and track.
He attended Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon.
Other survivors include: one sister, TaNea Marie Graves, of the home; paternal grandparents, Thomas W. and Nancy Graves, Tuscumbia; and maternal grandparents, Dr. Paul and Marjorie Howard, Tuscumbia.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Tuscumbia High School Gymnasium. The Rev. Don Renken will officiate. Burial will be in Gott Cemetery, near Ulman.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the school.

HART
Margaret Catherine Hart, 85, New Bloomfield, died Jan. 8, 2000, at Hospice and Friendship House of Jefferson City.
She was born Aug. 11, 1914, in Cole County, a daughter of Joseph P. and Barbara Mary Distler Renn. She was married Aug. 10, 1940, in Jefferson City, to Lloyd W. Hart, who died March 11, 1997.
She was a past member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Jefferson City. She worked as a seamstress at Oberman's Pants Factory.
Survivors include: one daughter, Pauline E. Schobert, New Bloomfield; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit. Entombment will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

KLOEPPEL
Cornelius Frank "Corny" Kloeppel, 72, Marshall, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall.
He was born Nov. 25, 1927, in Freeburg, a son of Peter and Bernadine Luebbert Kloeppel. He was married Oct. 31, 1963, in Miami, Okla., to Betty L. Olmstead, who survives at the home.
He was a resident of Saline County for most of his life. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was employed at Quinn Concrete for 35 years until his retirement.
He was a past resident of Malta Bend.
Other survivors include: two sons, Terry Kloeppel, Columbia, and Jim Kloeppel, Holts Summit; one daughter, Lisa Samson, Pittsburg, Kan.; two brothers, William "Bill" Kloeppel, Miami, Mo., and Cletus Kloeppel, Marshall; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, Marshall. Nelson Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Marshall.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Lighthouse Shelter or Marshall Senior Center, both in Marshall.
MARVIN
Melba Juanita Marvin, 76, Versailles, died Jan. 8, 2000, at North Kansas City Hospital.
She was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Leachville, Ark., a daughter of Charles and Effie Stroud Ferguson. She was married June 25, 1941, in Kansas City, Kan., to Frank M. Marvin, who died Dec. 18, 1986.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Family Worship Center, Versailles.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Cleveland, state of Colorado; five daughters, Karen Todd, Shallotte, N.C., Sherry Luttrell, Kansas City, Kan., Muretta Farr, Versailles, Nadean Brower, Nevada, and Lorraine Kirvohlavek, Lenexa, Kan.; one brother, Kenneth Eugene Ferguson, Versailles; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Larry F. Marvin, and one infant daughter, Sheila Marvin, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Danny Owsley will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens, near Barnett.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
