BROWN
Shelley S. Brown, 43, Clarksburg, died Jan. 16, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born Aug. 24, 1956, in Sedalia, a daughter of Keith and Nancy Richardson Elliott, who survive in California. She was married June 15, 1976, in California, to Joe Brown, who survives at the home.
She was a 1974 graduate of California High School and a member of First Baptist Church, California. She was a seamstress at California Manufacturing and served as city clerk and court clerk in Clarksburg.
Other survivors include: one son, Larry Dean Brown, Clarksburg; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Speidel, California; one brother, Mark R. Elliott Sr., Eldon; one sister, Robin Elliott Chesser, California; her paternal grandmother, Ruth Elliott, California; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Akinsville Cemetery, Fortuna.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

DIMOND
Marilyn L. Dimond, 62, Gravois Mills, died Jan. 16, 2000, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1937, in Carroll County, a daughter of Lester and Mildred Stewart Dickinson.
She was a college music educator and administrator. She was a member of Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church of Laurie. She was a member and past matron of Ferguson Chapter 188 of Fayette, and dual member of Versailles Chapter 410. She served as Grand Ruth of the Grand Chapter of Missouri. She was a member of A.B.W.A., Daughters of the American Revolution and was executive director of the Royal Arts Council of Versailles.
Survivors include: one son, Mike Dimond, St. Cloud, Minn.; one brother, Victor Dickinson, Gravois Mills; and three grandchildren.
Services, including an O.E.S. service, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Van Horn Cemetery, Tina.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Laurie.
Memorials are suggested to Central Methodist College or the Royal Arts Council of Versailles.
LUEBBERT
Myrtle Ann Luebbert, 88, Westphalia, died Jan. 16, 2000, at her home.
She was born Jan. 1, 1912, in Loose Creek, a daughter of Peter H. and Mary Beller Lock. She was married Nov. 20, 1935, in Loose Creek, to Hubert Felix Luebbert, who died March 27, 1975.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, Ladies Sodality, St. Ann's Sewing Circle, Knights of Columbus Post 1171 Auxiliary, and WPFA.
Survivors include: one son, Richard H. Luebbert, Westphalia; two daughters, Betty Jean Kozak, Santa Ana, Calif., and Mary Kay Schulte, Westphalia; one sister, Lillian Roth, Deltona, Fla.; one brother, Harry Lock, Loose Creek; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
One son, Ralph J. Luebbert, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert A. Kurwicki will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School, Westphalia; St. Joseph Catholic Church; or the Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri.
HEFLIN
Stuart Vance Heflin, 47, Rolla, formerly of Jefferson City, died Jan. 15, 2000, in St. Louis.
He was born Nov. 21, 1952, in Independence, a son of Clarence and Betty Heflin, who survive. He was married to Sherry Heflin, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Truman High School, Independence, he received a photojournalism degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1976. He worked for Rolla Daily News, Daily Journal, KCLU Radio, Columbia Daily Tribune, and Black Star News Service, New York, before becoming a freelance photojournalist and videographer. His television credits include National Geographic, America's Most Wanted and Great Chefs of Europe. He also worked for the Democratic State Committee and was media advisor to Lt. Gov. Roger Wilson and Sen. Joe Maxwell.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jake Heflin, of the home, and Ben Vance Heflin, Chicago; two brothers, Randy Heflin, Kansas City, and Lance Heflin, Bethesda, Md.; and one sister, Linda Hobbs, Kansas City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Null & Son Funeral Home, Rolla. Burial will be in Bates Creek Cemetery, Potosi.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

ROOKEY
Kenneth Rookey, 53, Fulton, died Jan. 12, 2000, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
He was born Feb. 10, 1946, in the state of Iowa, a son of Raymond and Edith Helen Plummer Rookey.
He worked at Kingdom Projects, Fulton.
Survivors include one son, Bryan Lee Rookey.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
NICHOLS
Helen Ruth Conn Nichols, 83, Tipton, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1916, in Tipton, a daughter of Jay A. and Ruth Embry Conn. She was married Aug. 21, 1936, to Wade H. Neill. She was married Feb. 18, 1983, in Tipton, to Claude E. Nichols, who died May 16, 1993.
She lived in Princeton until 1952, when she moved to Aurora, Colo.
She was a department store manager with the May Company, Aurora, for more than 20 years.
She moved to Tipton in 1980.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Tipton, and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, where she was past worthy matron.
Survivors include: one daughter, Connie Sporn, Louisville, Colo.; three stepdaughters, Claudia Ann Brooker, state of Texas , Margaret "Peggy" Martin, Hermitage, and Susan A. Hoefener, Jefferson City; one brother, Walter A. Conn, state of Oklahoma; two grandsons; 11 step grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One son, Wade H. Neill, died in 1960.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Tipton. The Rev. Dusty Klein will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton, with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m..
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
LIVINGSTON
Irene Alyce Livingston, 82, Fortuna, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 23, 1917, in Minatare, S.D., a daughter of John and Alice Bassford Anderson. She was married Oct. 4, 1932, to Malcolm L. "Blondie" Livingston, who died Jan. 4, 1992.
A homemaker, she was a member of Fortuna Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Emerlyn Reed, Fortuna; one brother, Albert Anderson, Fortuna; one sister, Connie Gleaves, Santa Ana, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. W.D. Martensen will officiate. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery, Fortuna.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
KESTER
Virgil D. Kester, 87, Jefferson City, died Jan. 17, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 24, 1912, in Carrollton, a son of Delty J. and Eliza Harlow Kester. He was married Dec. 12, 1947, in Kansas City, Kan., to B. Yvonne Klassen, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kan., he attended the University of Kansas-Lawrence. He owned and operated Kester Konstruction Kompany, Moberly, for 10 years. He was chief engineer with the Missouri Department of Corrections from 1967 to 1976.
He was a member of Central Christian Church of Moberly and Liberty Road Baptist Church. He was a member of Moberly Lodge 344 AF&AM and the Scottish Rite, Kansas City.
Other survivors include: one son, Jerry Kester, Carrollton, Texas ; four daughters, Janice Pugh, Carrollton, Texas , Becky McGinty, Madison, Virginia Bargar, Clark, and Mary Shoaf, Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Hazel McNeff, Kansas City, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
McIVER
Elizabeth McIver, 86, Jefferson City, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born March 31, 1913, in Elizaville, Ky., a daughter of William H. and Roberta Hildreth Kirk. She was married Nov. 24, 1945, in Cincinnati to Robert W. McIver, who preceded her in death.
She was a secretary for the Department of Defense at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, N.J.
She was a member of Dover Presbyterian Church, NARFE, and Rock and Gem Society, North Jersey.
Survivors include two nieces, Karen Yeager, Jefferson City, and Carolyn Biggs, Evanston, Ill.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Ky.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
