CABLE
Gladys F. Cable, 82, Versailles, died Jan. 18, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Leeton, a daughter of Samuel and Laura Freeman Kidwell. She was married March 10, 1935, to Frank Cable, who died Jan. 13, 1985.
A homemaker and Cub Scout leader, she was a member of West Union Baptist Church near Versailles.
Survivors include: four sons, Paul Cable, Columbia, S.C., Gene Cable, Versailles, Jack Cable, Independence, and Danny Cable, Osage Beach; one brother, Freeman Kidwell, Deming, N.M.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
One son, Sam Cable, died Dec. 28, 1998.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, Versailles.
WILLS
Fred L. Wills, 90, Macks Creek, died Jan. 18, 2000, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
He was born Oct. 1, 1909, in Dry Ridge, a son of John F. and Rosa S. Prater Willis. He was married Jan. 5, 1935, in Camdenton, to Charlotte Mamie Johnson, who died Nov. 25, 1990.
A farmer, he co-owned and co-operated a restaurant in Camdenton. He co-managed Ha Ha Tonka State Park's hotel and restaurant, and was a janitor for the Macks Creek School.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Macks Creek.
Survivors include one son, Holley Teer, Macks Creek, and one grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Don Ray Willis will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Macks Creek.
WEISENBERGER
Norman J. Weisenberger, 86, Barnett, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
He was born May 12, 1913, in St. Joseph, a son of Herman J. and Amanda Fitchel Weisenberger. He was married May 12, 1937, to Lucille Reddy, who died Dec. 3, 1971.
A retired miner, he was a member of St. Rit's Catholic Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sharley Bishop, Couer d'Alene, Idaho, and Billie Higinbotham, Barnett; nine grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
The remains were cremated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
SIMPSON
Faith Renee Simpson, infant daughter of Matthew G. and Melissa Ann Wyrick Simpson, Fulton, died Jan. 16, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born Oct. 4, 1999, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
Her parents survive at the home.
Other survivors include: one sister, Brittany Simpson, of the home; one brother, Kristopher Simpson, of the home; paternal grandparents, Charles and Shirley Simpson, Fulton; maternal grandparents, Bob and Carrie Dorn, Tipton, and Gary and Gloria Wyrick, Jefferson City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today.
ROEHL
Services were today for Emma Roehl, 89, Belle, who died Jan. 17, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born July 23, 1910, in Bland, a daughter of Chris and Dora Doyel Lange. She was married Oct. 27, 1929, to Rufus Roehl, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one daughter, Violet Nichols, Jefferson City; two sisters, Lydia Roesner, Belle, and Louise Oshia, Sullivan; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
One son, Roger Roehl, preceded her in death.
Services were at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Belle. Burial was in Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville.
Arrangements were under the direction of Sassmann's Funeral Service, Belle.
ROEHL
Services for Estella F. Roehl, 97, Jefferson City, who died Dec. 27, 1999, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Jerome Brownlee will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Parish Nurse's Position or Heisinger Lutheran Retirement Center.
KANENBLEY
August Siegel Kanenbley, 78, Florence, died Jan. 17, 2000, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.
He was born July 19, 1921, near Syracuse, a son of Raymond C. and Edith Siegel Kanenbley. He was married June 26, 1943, in Jefferson City, to Minnie M. Rasa, who survives at the home.
A graduate of Syracuse High School, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and worked four years as deputy county clerk of Morgan County. He owned and operated Kanenbley's Grocery and Kanenbley Feed Store, Florence, for more than 30 years.
A member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Florence, he served on the church board. He was a founding member of the Florence Rural Fire Department, a member of Morgan County Farm Bureau, Morgan County Republican Party, American Legion Post 104, Versailles, and the DAV.
Other survivors include: one son, Wayne Kanenbley, Syracuse; one daughter, Shirley Knipp, Tipton; one sister, Kathryn Henderson, Otterville; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Mike Miller will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Florence.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ.
FISHER
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home for John William "Bill" Fisher Sr., 76, Jefferson City, who died July 14, 1999.
The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
COWEN
Bonnie M. Cowen, 90, Camdenton, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Christian Health Care Center, Hermitage.
She was born Nov. 8, 1909, in Preston, a daughter of Frank and Mary Pippin Erickson. She was married Sept. 5, 1929, in Urbana, to John Delbert Cowen, who died July 26, 1984.
She was a member of Little Niangua Baptist Church, Preston, and Eastern Star Chapter, Macks Creek. She was a lifelong Camden County resident.
Survivors include: one son, Johnny Cowen, Lake Ozark; four daughters, Mary Lou Stoner, Macks Creek, Marie Dibben, Independence, Willa Altes, Kansas City, and Bonnie Saluto, Independence; one sister, Hazel Lonkonski, Preston; one brother, Otto Erickson, Marshall; 31 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Charles Cowen, and two grandchildren, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Don Willis will officiate. An Eastern Star Lodge service also will be held. Burial will be in Little Niangua Cemetery, Preston.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to Little Niangua Cemetery.
HARMS
Helen Harms, 87, Stover, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Golden Age Living Center, Stover.
She was born April 18, 1912, in Zora, a daughter of William E. and Ordella Hughes Taylor.
A member of Stover United Methodist Church, she was a homemaker and worked at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.
Survivors include: two daughters, Stella Marie Huffman, Lakewood, Colo., and Mildred L. Viebrock, Kansas City; one brother, Clayton Taylor, Stover; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Stover. The Rev. Diane Cutler will officiate. Burial will be in Stover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to Stover United Methodist Church.
LEHMAN
George W. Lehman, 83, St. David, Ariz., formerly of California, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev.
