ALEXANDER

Ruth Alexander, 81, Dixon, died Jan. 29, 2000, at Life Care Center, Waynesville.

She was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Maries County, a daughter of Levi and Minnie Hickey Martin. She was married Dec. 6, 1947, in Maries County, to Carlis Alexander, who preceded her in death.

A member of First Baptist Church, Dixon, and Liesman-Roberts American Legion Post 298, Dixon, she worked in a shoe factory in Washington . She also was a seamstress at Fort Leonard Wood and a cook in the Dixon R-1 School System for 10 years, retiring in 1974.

Survivors include: two sons, Glen Alexander, Columbus, Ohio, and David Alexander, Rolla; one brother, Morris Martin, Washington ; four sisters, Audrey Darby, Dixon, Jane Lifer, state of Mississippi, Dixie Kappelman, Springfield, and Wanda Milligan, Dixon.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. The Rev. John Parker will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery, near Dixon.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.

HARRIMAN

Mary Berniece "Bunny" Harriman, 89, Holts Summit, died Jan. 29, 2000, at  Jefferson City Manor Care Center.

She was born Nov. 17, 1910, in Kansas City, Kan., a daughter of Forrest L. and Anne Elizabeth Edwards Gosney. She was married April 9, 1940, in Kansas City, to Joseph Philpott Harriman, who died Nov. 7, 1990.

She was a graduate of Central High School, Kansas City, and a homemaker. She was employed as a clerk in Kansas City grocery stores and at the Hartsburg Turnoff Station in Boone County.

She worked as a secretary with Kroll-Collier Magazine in Wichita and New York. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist and the Christian Science Reading Room. She served on church boards and committees.

Survivors include: one son, James Forrest Harriman, Snellville, Ga.; one daughter, Ruth Johnson, Holts Summit; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

One son, David Lee Harriman, died Oct. 23, 1993.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Home. Millicent Schindler will officiate. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to First Church of Christ Scientist or to a charity of the donor's choice.

LUSTIG

Dolores E. "Dee" Lustig, 69, Camdenton, died Jan. 29, 2000, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

She was born March 29, 1930, in Buchanan, Mich., a daughter of Robert P. and Mildred Schmidt Sherwood. She was married Sept. 1, 1963, in Celt, to Nicholas F. Lustig Jr., who survives at the home.

She was a member of Community Christian Church and lived in the Lake area since 1951.

Other survivors include: one son, Paul D. Lustig, Austin, Texas ; one sister, Phyllis Annis, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Thursday.

McDOUGAL

George Ray McDougal, 72, Camdenton, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

He was born June 10, 1927, in Hundred, W.Va., a son of Raymond E. and Melissa Sue Ashcraft McDougal. He was married May 29, 1948, in Elmira Heights, N.Y., to Grace Andrews, who survives at the home.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he lived in the Lake area since 1983. He worked for Corning Inc. before retiring and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Other survivors include: three sons, Kenneth R. McDougal, Frenchburg, Ky., George R. McDougal, Elmira Heights, and Jack R. McDougal, Abingdon, Md.; three daughters, Janice Week, Aberdeen, Md., and Connie Carroll and Shirley Tomlinson, both of Camdenton; two sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Davis will officiate. Private burial will be in New York at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton.

SMITH

Freddie L. Smith, 36, Henley, died Jan. 31, 2000, at his home.

He was born April 1, 1963, in Wichita, Kan., a son of Freddie and Louza R. Lairmore Smith. His mother survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of Central Missouri, he attended Cole County R-5 School, Eugene. He was employed as a fork lift operator with Command Web.

Other survivors include: three sisters, Iva B. Smith, Linda K. Unger and Dianna S. Smith, all of  Jefferson City; one brother, Jerry Lairmore, Carson, Calif.; one half sister, Susie Smith,  Jefferson City; and two half brothers, Billy J. Smith, Macks Creek, and Bobby G. Smith,  Jefferson City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Harvey Moad will officiate. Burial will be in Henley Cemetery, Henley.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Freddie Smith Memorial Fund.

SCHAEFER

Wilbert F. "Bert" Schaefer, 77,  Jefferson City, died Jan. 31, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

HOOVER

Debbie A. Hoover, 32, Fulton, died Jan. 29, 2000, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.

She was born June 23, 1967, in Hartford, Conn., a daughter of Allan and Sandra Colby Bednarski. Her mother and stepfather, Sandra and Robert Joseph Pope, survive in New Bloomfield. Her stepmother, Nora Fuller Bednarski, survives in the state of Pennsylvania . She was married April 5, 1987, to Don Hoover, who survives at the home.

A graduate of New Bloomfield High School, she worked at Dollar General Store, Fulton. She was a Boy Scout leader and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, New Bloomfield.

Other survivors include: one son, Andrew Joseph "A.J." Hoover, of the home; one sister, Laura Coon, Slater; two brothers, Kenneth Bednarski, state of California, and Robert Bednarski, Maine; one half sister, Carolyn "Carrie" Pope, New Bloomfield; one half brother, Joseph Pope, New Bloomfield; and one grandfather, James Colby, Rochester, N.H.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Rick Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fulton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

BURKHART

Cynthia G. Burkhart, 44, Versailles, died Jan. 31, 2000, at Good Shepherd Care Center, Versailles.

She was born Sept. 2, 1955, in Independence, a daughter of Elmo D. and Nadine Nichols Kays. Her mother survives in Versailles. She was married Sept. 3, 1982, to Lloyd Grant Ingersoll, who died Aug. 2, 1984.

A graduate of Morgan County R-2 High School, Versailles, she worked at Primo Pants, Versailles, and Fasco Industries. She was a member of West Union Baptist Church, Versailles.

Survivors include: one daughter, Ashley Colleen Burkhart, Versailles; four brothers, Hugh Kays, Woodbridge, Va., and Don Kays, Joe Kays and Bill Kays, all of Versailles; two sisters, Beverly Chastain, Lebanon, and Becky Sizer, Versailles; one half brother, Jack Kays, Des Moines, Iowa; two half sisters, Donna Williams, Pahrump, Nev., and Betty Rose, Des Moines.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Homes, Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell, the Rev. Robert Chastain, and the Rev. Bart Larson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Stover.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Option Care Missouri River Hospice, Versailles.

CRABTREE

Ira Crabtree, 73, Sunrise Beach, died Jan. 28, 2000, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born March 5, 1926, in Linn Creek, a son of Ira H. and Jodie Hibdon Crabtree. He was married in 1947 to Arlene Megart, who preceded him in death.

A Marine veteran and fireman with the Kansas City Fire Department, he owned and operated Ozark Linen and Towel Service, Sunrise Beach. He helped organized the Sunrise Beach volunteer fire department.

Survivors include: one brother, Cleo Crabtree, Sunrise Beach; and three sisters, Margurite Barnum, Warsaw, Maxine Bartley, Sunrise Beach, and Eva Uptergrove, Weslaco, Texas .

Two sons, Rodney Crabtree and Alan Crabtree, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Versailles. The Rev. Todd Forman will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

PAULTAN

Edward Paultan, 84,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 2, 2000, at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

Arrangements are incomplete at Freeman Mortuary.
