VAUGHT

Thelma Marie Vaught, 74, Holts Summit, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Callaway County, a daughter of William W. and Ina Langley Davis. She was married Sept. 13, 1946, in  Jefferson City, to Lloyde Wilber Vaught, who survives at the home.

She attended school in St. James and Holts Summit and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She worked at the Bolivar Street Shoe Factory, East End Shoe Factory, Oberman's Pants Factory, McGraw Edison, and most recently at the Missouri Division of Employment Security until her retirement.

Other survivors include: one son, Fred Vaught, Holts Summit; three daughters, Martha Gabaldon and Thelma Thomasson, both of Holts Summit, and Helen Goetz, Brazito; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

One daughter, Glenda Sue Vaught, died in 1956.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bull Cemetery, Holts Summit. The Rev. Wendell Stoneburner will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Buescher Memorial Home.

Memorials are suggested to the intensive care unit at Capital Region Medical Center.

JOHNSON

Lenora M. "Tootie" Johnson, 81, Morrison, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Morrison, a daughter of Gustave and Margaret Rosien Weissenbach. She was married June 8, 1937, to Roy C. Johnson, who died April 12, 1978.

A lifelong area resident, she was a homemaker. She co-owned and co-operated Roy and Tootie's Tavern, Fredericksburg, for 28 years.

She was a member of Zion St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Pershing.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda K. McGuire, Morrison, three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion St. Peter's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Bruce Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Fredericksburg Cemetery, Fredericksburg.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Fredericksburg Cemetery Fund or to the American Cancer Society.

LUETKEMEYER

Beverly Ann Luetkemeyer, 60,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1939, in New Haven, a daughter of Andrew G. and Gladys Marie Hanke Hallemann. She was married June 14, 1958, in Dutzow, to Kenneth Wayne Luetkemeyer, who survives at the home.

A graduate of St. Francis Borgia High School, Washington , she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral.

Other survivors include: one son, Michael W. Luetkemeyer,  Jefferson City; four daughters, Jo Ann Bestgen, California, Laurie L. Borchelt, Holts Summit, Paula K. Berhorst, Morrison, and Greta M. Brauner, St. Martins; one sister, Mary Jo Hase, Lake St. Louis; and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cathedral. The Rev. Frederick J. Elskamp will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

STEPHENS- FINIGAN

Gavin Lee Stephens-Finigan, infant son of Richard Finigan and Tiffany Stephens, died Feb. 20, 2000, at Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital, St. Louis.

He was born June 28, 1999, in Columbia. His father survives in  Jefferson City and his mother survives in St. Thomas.

Other survivors include: maternal grandmother Cathy Marriott, St. Thomas; maternal grandfather Paul Stephens, state of California; maternal great-grandparents Dewey and Shirley Green, Tuscumbia, and Bob and Dorothy Kremer, Portland, Ore.; maternal great-great-grandmothers Catherine Wilmes, Portland, and Cleotha Leclere, Thebes, Ill.; paternal grandparents Dan and Dana Smith,  Jefferson City, and Wilber and Laura Finigan, Texas ; paternal great-great-grandfather Lou Winseck, Texas .

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Thomas. Msgr. Bernard Boessen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Hall, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Gavin Stephens-Finigan Trust Fund, c/o Union Planters Bank in  Jefferson City.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta.

THOMASSON

Nadine D. Thomasson, 87, Fulton, died Feb. 19, 2000, at Fulton Manor Care Center, Fulton.

She was born Nov. 26, 1912, in Readsville, a daughter of J. Ed and Winifred Perkinson Davis. She was married in 1937 to Ralph Lee Thomasson, who died Dec. 20, 1993.

She worked at Fulton State Hospital for 24 years in the nursing service as a psychiatric aide.

Survivors include: two daughters, Nancy Lee Bonard, Osage Beach, and Barbara Ann Shaon, Fulton; one brother, Joe Davis, Fulton; one sister, Gertrude Sattler, Minnesota; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

One granddaughter preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Entombment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

ZEMAN

William Kenneth Zeman, 55, Linn Creek, died Feb. 20, 2000, in Camdenton.

He was born July 15, 1944, in Chicago, a son of Anton and Marilyn McViegh Zeman.

He recently had moved back to the Lake of the Ozarks area and was working for Signal Convenience store of Camdenton and Z's Landscaping Service of Linn Creek.

Survivors include: two children, Alicia Zeman and Jason Zeman, Mundelein, Ill.; two brothers, Gary Zeman, Linn Creek, and Tony Zeman, Oak Park, Ill.; and one sister, Linda Z. McKeaney, Chicago.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Chapel Hills Garden Cemetery in Oak Brook Terrace, Ill.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.

ATHY

Doris J. Athy, 66,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 7, 1933, in Boone County, a daughter of Robert B. and Mary F. Grant Athy. Her mother, Mary Nall, survives in Columbia.

She was executive director of Mid-Missouri Regional Library Systems for 30 years.

She also served as director of the Thomas  Jefferson Regional Library System for 30 years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia. The Rev. Harvel Sanders will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of  Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri; 601 E. High St.;  Jefferson City, MO 65101, or to the Heartland Regional Library System; P.O. Box 231; Vienna, MO 65582.

BOCK

Alma M. Bock, 78, Linn, died Feb. 22, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born April 5, 1921, in Rich Fountain, a daughter of Anton and Elizabeth Luetke Hertzing. She was married April 27, 1938, in Rich Fountain, to Frank X. Bock Jr., who died May 20, 1990.

A lifelong resident of Osage County, she was a former resident of Rich Fountain. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Rich Fountain.

Survivors include: two sons, Ronald Bock, Rich Fountain, and Bernard Bock, Pittsburg; two daughters, Mary Ann Baker, Lee's Summit, and Donna Stratman,  Jefferson City; one brother, Pete Hertzing, Glendale, Ariz.; one sister, Josephine Voss, Linn; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One son, Fred Bock, and one grandchild preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church. The Rev. Kevin Gormley will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Church.

SMITH

Laura Alice Smith, 87,  Jefferson City, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born May 16, 1912, in Lexington, Ky., to Chester "C.C." and Gertrude Bewich Cunningham. She was married to George E. Smith, who preceded her in death.

A graduate of Stephens College, she received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Kansas. She was a member of chapter GK of P.E.O.

Survivors include: one son, George Edward Smith, Spring Hill, Kan.; one daughter, Jeanne Powell, Columbia; one sister, Mariana Dunlop, Victoria, Texas ; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia. The Rev. Dorothy Lairmore will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:30-3 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, 1121 Business Loop 70 E., Columbia, Mo. 65201.
