SNYDER
E. Jereen "Jerrie" Snyder, 53, Ulman, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Dec. 28, 1946, in Champaign, Ill., a daughter of Virgil and Etha Asher Broom. Her mother survives in St. Joseph, Ill. She was married March 12, 1966, in St. Joseph, to Joseph W. Snyder, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she worked on the farm with her husband.
Other survivors include: three sons, Jason Snyder, Brumley, Jesse Snyder and Robert Snyder, both of Ulman; three sisters, Virginia Colclasure, Jarrettsville, Md., Marjorie Taylor, St. Joseph, and Kathy Esworthy, London, England; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 4-7 p.m. Friday.
VANDYKE
Shirley VanDyke, 58, Eldon, died Feb. 21, 2000, at her home.
She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Miller County, a daughter of John W. and Delphia B. Settles Schupp. Her mother survives in Eldon. She was married Sept. 5, 1964, in Eldon, to Earl E. "Gene" VanDyke, who survives at the home.
She was a certified medical technician.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Denise VanDyke, Eldon; one stepson, David Earl VanDyke, Brumley; one stepdaughter, Valerie Washam, Brookfield; five sisters, one brother, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One son, Andrew J. VanDyke, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Jack Dilday will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
WARE
Raymond L. Ware, 74, Versailles, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
He was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Carroll County, a son of Addison and Lilly A. Ingram Ware. He was married March 17, 1948, to Helen Nadine Bradley, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a plumber for Fair Way Plumbing, Kansas City, and a member of Plumbers Union Local 8, Kansas City, and West Union Baptist Church, Versailles.
Other survivors include: three sons, Michael R. Ware, Lawson, Patrick L. Ware, Parksville, and Victor C. Ware, Camden, Del.; one daughter, Peggy C. Tyler, Warsaw; one brother, Estle Ware, Kansas City; one sister, Alice Casselman, Lexington; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Homes, Versailles. The Rev. Rod Campbell and the Rev. Danny Owsley will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to West Union Baptist Church.
SCRIVNER
Hallie H. Scrivner, 89, Jefferson City, died Feb. 23, 2000, at Oak View Living Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1910, in Osage County, a daughter of Leon R. and Annie E. Potts Campbell. She was married May 25, 1941, in Linn, to Vergil Paul Scrivner, who died Jan. 23, 1963.
She worked at Oberman's Pants Factory and retired after 14 years as a cook at Russellville School. She then baby-sat in Russellville from 1975 until the late 1980s. She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church and the Birthday Club.
Survivors include: three daughters, Linda Scrivner, Jefferson City, Miriam Bond, Russellville, and Jill Steen, Holts Summit; one son, Donald Scrivner, Eldon; one stepson, Jack Scrivner, Rolla; two sisters, Lorene Jones, Jefferson City, and Neva Whitted, Dennison, Texas ; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
One son, Ronald Scrivner, died in 1995.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Russellville Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Trumbo will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville.
Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Alzheimer's Group.
WEST
Roy Wade West, 33, Westphalia, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born March 21, 1966, in Jefferson City, a son of Robert J. and Lillie Belle Meiburger West. His mother survives in Argyle. He was married March 14, 1987, in Folk, to Carla Feltrop, who survives at the home.
A 1984 graduate of Miller County R-3 High School, St. Elizabeth, he was a laboratory technician at the Missouri Department of Transportation. He was formerly employed by Empire Moldings, Christa & Crown Rentals, J.C. Mattress Factory, Missouri Furniture and Command Web.
He was a member of Freedom of the Road Riders Local 10, the Highway Association and the Jefferson City Highway Credit Union.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Arlin West, Maynard, Ark., and Lloyd West, Freeburg; and three sisters, Pat Barber, Eldon, Judy Mace, Green River, Wyo., and Sherry West, Argyle.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk. The Rev. John Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Meta.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Freedom of the Road Riders Local 10.
CRALL
Services were Jan. 25 for Theodore "Ted" Crall, 71, Osage Beach, who died Jan. 21, 2000, in the state of Florida.
He was born Dec. 31, 1928, in New York City, a son of Albert and Pearl Crall. His mother survives in Vienna, W.Va. He was married in 1971 to Elizabeth Crall, who died in 1997.
He served in the Navy until his retirement in 1967. A past resident of Eugene, he co-owned and co-operated The South Bar, Eldon. He also operated The Engine Room, Eugene.
He was a member of the VFW.
Other survivors include four children, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were at Kelly's Funeral Home, Carrabelle, Fla. VFW services also were held. The remains were cremated.
DeGRAFFENREID
Betty R. DeGraffenreid, 77, Brumley, died Feb. 23, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics.
She was born May 19, 1922, in Hays, Kan., a daughter of Marshal and Roxie Hamm Ormord. She was married Nov. 14, 1942, in Tuscumbia, to John R. DeGraffenreid, who survives at the home.
She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, Osage Beach.
Other survivors include: one son, David J. DeGraffenreid, Brumley; one daughter, Cathy DeGraffenreid, Brumley; one sister, Jean Hefton, Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church. James R. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Boltz Cemetery, Brumley.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach.
Memorials are suggested to the Riverview Baptist Church Building Fund.
PHELPS
John E. Phelps, 84, Jefferson City, died Feb. 22, 2000, at Capital Healthcare Center.
He was born Jan. 12, 1916, in St. Louis, a son of John E. and Isabelle Jane Williamson Phelps. He was married Sept. 15, 1939, in St. Louis, to Mary Lee Chambers, who preceded him in death.
He was a Navy veteran. A resident of St. Louis for most of his life, he moved to Tipton in 1989. He was self-employed.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sandra Lynn Sturnader, Iola, Texas , and Nancy Lee Halaney, Houston, Texas ; one sister, Janice E. Woolsey, Herculaneum; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. J.D. Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
POINTER
Clara C. Pointer, 92, Linn, died Feb. 23, 2000, at Green Meadows Health Care Center, Linn.
She was born June 23, 1907, in Osage County, a daughter of Louis and Arelia Groff Pearon. She was married Sept. 24, 1925, in Linn, to Joe Pointer, who died April 12, 1957.
A lifelong resident of the Belle and Linn areas, she attended Buck Elk School, near Pilot Knob. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilot Knob Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Darleen Schaefer, Linn, 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Norman Pointer, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn. The Rev. Tony Townley will officiate. Burial will be in Pilot Knob Cemetery, Belle.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
