PAPPAS
George Philip Pappas, 60, Jefferson City, died Feb. 29, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Hannibal, a son of Philip G. and Amelia Farha Pappas. He was married Nov. 28, 1958, in Murphy, N.C., to Mary Louise Frazier, who survives at the home.
A 1957 graduate of Hannibal High School, he attended the Rolla School of Mines. He was employed at Sprint United Telephone from 1961 until his retirement in 1999 as a senior systems engineer.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 213 A.F. & A.M., Rolla.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Michelle Kathlyne Gill, Jefferson City; one son, Steven Philip Pappas, Overland Park, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. C.D. Butler will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

RODDEN
Zella Lucille Rodden, 78, Brumley, died Feb. 29, 2000, at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach.
She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Hancock, a daughter of James H. and Lillie Ellen Russell Moss. She was married May 21, 1941, in Tuscumbia, to Porter Rodden, who died July 27, 1985.
She managed Buffalo Trading Post, Lake Ozark, for several years, and was a cook at Warren and Brumley schools. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: six sons, Howard Rodden, Melnore Rodden, Henry Mack Rodden, Gary Rodden, Danny Rodden and Mark Rodden, all of Brumley; two daughters, Sandra Carroll, Eldon, and Mary Ellen Emmerich, Brumley; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
One grandson and one granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. Burial will be in Robinett Cemetery, near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
ROUSH
Roger Wayne Roush, 38, Jefferson City, died Feb. 29, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1961, in Jefferson City, a son of Ray and Sadie Smith Roush. He was married Oct. 14, 1989, in Westphalia, to Patty Linnenbrink, who survives at the home.
He attended Jefferson City High School. He worked as an overnight stocker at Kmart for 10 years.
One son, Tyler Wayne Roush, died in 1995.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home. The Rev. Earl Hoskins will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
SCOTT
Bertha Geneva "Tootsie" Scott, 81, Eldon, died Feb. 28, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born July 5, 1918, in Camden County, a daughter of Robert and Geneva Stokes Wood. She was married Oct. 16, 1939, in Henry County, to John L. Scott, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was a member of Olean Baptist Church and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder Association.
Other survivors include: two sons, Louis Scott, Dalhart, Texas , and Russell Scott, Eldon; two daughters, Vera Lake, Columbia, and Erma Kelly, Eldon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Todd Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Dooley Cemetery, Eldon.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to Olean Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
ORTMEYER
Oscar Edward Ortmeyer, 93, Jefferson City, died March 1, 2000, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
He was born March 12, 1906, in Schubert, a son of Stephen and Sophia Schmutzler Ortmeyer. He was married Jan. 12, 1932, in Rolla, to Beulah D. Helton, who survives at the home.
He attended Castle Rock School, Osage County, and Jefferson City Business College. He co-owned the Ortmeyer farms in Cole, Miller and Callaway counties, raising Red Polled Hereford cattle for more than 60 years.
He opened Broadway Shell Service Station in 1932, and was employed with Shell Oil Co. for 17 years as a service station manager, and retail and wholesale manager. He then was a wholesale and retail manager with Sinclair Refining Co. in Central Missouri for 15 years.
In 1958, he purchased the Mobil Oil Co. distributorship for the area. He also sold real estate for Paul Kolb Real Estate.
He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served on the building committee and was chairman of the finance committee. He was a church officer for 27 years, serving as chairman of the board of trustees for six years. He was president of the congregation when the new church was built, and was chairman of the board of elders for 12 years. He also had held elder memberships at St. John's Lutheran Church, Schubert, and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Patricia J. Dornfeld, Florissant, and Dr. Linda Kanagawa, Columbia; one sister, Hilda Werner, St. Thomas; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Anthony Alter will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Buescher Memorial Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Words of Faith, in care of Faith Lutheran Church.
RUSKIN
Zelda L. Ruskin, 85, Jefferson City, died Feb. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was born April 30, 1914, in Howard County, a daughter of Barnett S. and Amanda Jane Williams Frazier. She was married Oct. 20, 1940, in Fayette, to William L. Ruskin, who survives at the home.
She graduated from Fayette High School and the Spaulding Business School in Kansas City. In 1936, she worked for the Howard County Cooperative Extension Service. She moved to Jefferson City in 1945 and worked for the Missouri state auditor's office. Later, she was a secretary and administrative assistant with the Missouri Senate, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of First Christian Church and the Missouri Retired Employees Association.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Lawrence Veatch will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Fayette.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
SCHROEDER
Edna Thomas Schroeder, 94, Jefferson City, died March 1, 2000, at California Care Center.
She was born March 22, 1905, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Albert and Wilhelminia Andree Thomas. She was married in 1930 in Jefferson City to Walter A.F. Schroeder, who died in 1966.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, she was a 1924 graduate of Ernst Simonsen High School. She worked as a clerk for Capital City Telephone Company, Delmonico Grocery Store and Coach Light Florists.
She was a member of Central United Church of Christ, serving on the church consistory. She served two terms as president of the Hawthorn Garden Club. She was a life member of the Federated Gardens Clubs of Missouri, and served on various state committees. She was a member of the Jefferson City Art Club, and was committee woman of her voting ward. She was an organizing and charter member of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
Survivors include: three sons, Richard Schroeder, California, Walter Schroeder, Columbia, and Thomas Schroeder, Santa Fe, N.M.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stephen Buchholz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Central United Church of Christ or the Hawthorn Garden Club.
ALLEN
Taylor Paige Allen, infant daughter of Danielle Eckert and Johnny Allen, Steedman, died Feb. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 10, 1999, in Fulton. Her parents survive.
Other survivors include: maternal grandparents Randy and Sharon Harris, Mokane; paternal grandmother Tresa Allen, Fulton; maternal great-grandparents Charles and Ilene Harris and Charlie and Jennie Eckert; and paternal great-grandparents Harry and Myrtle Chapman.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon- 2 p.m. at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
BELT
Margaret Brady Belt, 79, Sedalia, died Feb. 29, 2000, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born May 4, 1920, in Zora, a daughter of Dr. Charles H. and Lola Elva Geary Brady. She was married May 25, 1947, in Sedalia, to Lacy Porter Belt, who died May 25, 1982.
She was a 1937 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She attended Central Methodist College and graduated from Central Missouri State University. She taught biology and math at a number of schools, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bothwell Hospital Auxiliary, United Way, American Red Cross, Sorosis, Meals on Wheels and the Sedalia Symphony Board.
Survivors include: one son, Dr. Charles Richard Belt, Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter, Elizabeth Belt Eckles, Jefferson City; one brother, Dr. Charles Henry Brady, North Mankato, Minn.; one sister, Mary Brady Smith, Ozark; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Frederick Zahn will officiate.
The body was donated to the University of Missouri Anatomical Board.
Memorials are suggested to the Bothwell Hospital Auxiliary.
