SCHNEIDER

Jack H. Schneider, 75, Holts Summit, died March 6, 2000, at Oakview Living Center.

He was born July 17, 1924, in  Jefferson City, a son of Paul P. and Pauline Schaffer Schneider. He was married Nov. 29, 1946, in Berdena, Kan., to Pearl Ann Engelbrecht, who died May 26, 1987. He was married Feb. 18, 1989, in  Jefferson City, to Doris Noble Petershagen, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of  Jefferson City High School. An Army veteran of World War II, he was employed by the  Jefferson City Police Department and the Cole County Sheriff Department.

He also worked with the security department of North American Aviation; the state of California Department of Corrections; and the Missouri Senate.

He attended First United Methodist Church and was a member of VFW Post 1003.

Other survivors include one brother, Frederick Schneider, Holts Summit, and one sister, Dorothy Hostetter, Higginsville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Dorothy Lairmore will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Honey Creek.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church.

RICHARDS

Frances M. Richards, 80, Camdenton, died March 5, 2000, at Christian Health Care, Lebanon.

She was born April 6, 1919, in Boonville, a daughter of John B. and Frances Folsom Bryan. She was married Nov. 8, 1942, in Boonville, to Grant Richards, who survives at the home.

A resident of the Lake area since 1942, she was the associate editor of the Revelle Leader newspaper. She was a member of Camdenton First Baptist Church. She was a past member of Women's Literary Club of Camden County, and past chairwoman of the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.

Other survivors include: one son, Ted Richards, Flower Mound, Texas ; one daughter, Susan Richards Bredeman, Kansas City; two sisters, Doris Long, Prairie Village, Kan., and Marjorie Summers, Columbia; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Allee-Reed Funeral Home, Camdenton. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Missouri Chapter, 1121 Business Loop 70 East, Columbia, Mo. 65201.

KETCHUM

Hollis M. Ketchum, 81,  Jefferson City, died March 5, 2000, at the Mayo Clinic, Phoenix.

He was born July 4, 1918, in Downing, a son of Ellis and Melvina G. Donaldson Ketchum. He was married May 30, 1943, in Glenwood, to Vivian M. Shively, who died March 4, 1980. He was married Sept. 20, 1980, in  Jefferson City, to Bobbie Nail, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Downing High School and Kirksville State Teachers College, Kirksville. An Army veteran of World War II, he received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters. He entered the Army Reserves and then transferred to the Missouri National Guard. He retired with the rank of colonel after 34 years of military service.

Before entering the service, he taught school in rural Schuyler County for four years. He was employed at the Division of Liquor Control for 19 years, where he was director for the last 12 years. He then was employed by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States for 18 years, acting as director of field activities the last 10 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church;  Jefferson Lodge 43, A.F. & A.M.; Capital Shrine Club; and the Moolah Temple, St. Louis.

He was a member and past president of: the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators; the Missouri State Skeet Shooters Association; Capital City Square Dancers Association; and the United Sportsman Club.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jackie Soltys, Raytown; one son, Randy Ketchum, Blue Springs; one stepson, Dr. Roger Nail,  Jefferson City; one stepdaughter, Patricia Stokes, Excelsior Springs; one brother, Estel Ketchum, Camdenton; two grandchildren and five step grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freeman Mortuary. The Rev. Thomas W. Nelson will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.

POWELL

Dorothy Jennings Powell, 63,  Jefferson City, died March 5, 2000, at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, Foley, Ala.

She was born July 15, 1936, in Hayti, a daughter of Edward and Dorothy Ruth Davis Jennings. Her mother survives in Farmington. She was married Jan. 13, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, to Richard C. Powell, who survives at the home.

A 1954 graduate of Hayti High School, she attended Central Methodist College and Southeast Missouri State University. She worked for more than 16 years as a rehabilitation specialist with the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation, retiring in 1998. Previously, she had worked for the Sikeston public schools child study center.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sikeston; American Quilters Society; was active in the Republican party; served with the Girl Scouts of America; and studied genealogy.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Melodie A. Powell, Kansas City, and Michelle D. Vickery, Imperial; and two sisters, Judy Lantto, Minneapolis, and Karen Reeves, St. Louis.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church,  Jefferson City. The Rev. Mark West will officiate. Entombment will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-3 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

BONNOT

Anna Bonnot, 93, Bonnots Mill, died March, 7, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

She was born Aug. 16, 1906, in Osage County, a daughter of Joe and Maybelle Sieg Mantle. She was married July 14, 1927, in Linn, to Theodore Bonnot, who died May 17, 1981.

A lifelong resident of Osage County, she was a member of St. Louis Church, Bonnots Mill. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: four sons, Edward "Cap" Bonnot, Loose Creek, Don L. Bonnot and Theodore Bonnot Jr., both of Bonnots Mill, and Jerry Bonnot, state of New Hampshire; one daughter, Martha M. Dudenhoeffer, Linn; three sisters, Clarabelle Diedel,  Jefferson City, Evaline Redman, Holts Summit, and Rosella Linnenbrink, St. Thomas; 33 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

One son, Joe Bonnot, and one daughter, Gertrude Branson, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Church. The Rev. George Kramer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

SCHOENEBERG

Otto A. Schoeneberg, 81, Jamestown, died March 6, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

He was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Louise, Texas , a son of Charles O. and Hedwig Matthys Schoeneberg. He was married May 30, 1948, near Clarksburg, to Emogene Baker, who survives at the home.

A lifelong farmer near Sandy Hook, he attended high school in Jamestown. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a prisoner of war in Germany for 13 months. He attended First Baptist Church in California and the men's Bible class.

Other survivors include: three sons, Sylvian Schoeneberg and Albert Schoeneberg, both of California, and Larry Schoeneberg, Lee's Summit; two daughters, Esther Porter, High Point, and Kay Odneal, Huntsville; four sisters, Helen Wallenmeyer, Russellville, Anna Laura Zagare, Rahway, N.J., Louise Tucker, Katy, Texas , and Hilda Takats, St. Louis; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church Family Life Center, California. The Rev. Greg Morrow and the Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in California City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Memorials are suggested to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation of Kansas City, 922 Walnut Street, Kansas City, Mo. 64106.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California.

WILSON

Bonnie J. "Sis" Wilson, 65,  Jefferson City, died March 7, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center.

She was born April 20, 1934, in  Jefferson City, a daughter of Charles V. and Mayme L. Higgins Wilson.

She graduated from  Jefferson City public schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked in sales with the Butch Wilson Produce Company, retiring in 1973.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one brother, James D. Wilson,  Jefferson City.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. George Scantlan will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Freeman Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Baptist Church Van Fund.

WILES

John W. Wiles, 57, Eugene, died March 6, 2000, at his home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Bethany, and was adopted at age 6 by Jasper and Ruby Casady Wiles. He was married May 27, 1962, in Worthington, to Catherine Ann Duncan, who survives at the home.

He received a master's degree in social studies in 1973 from Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville.

He worked for the Division of Employment Security until his retirement in 1999.

He pastored Southern Baptist churches since 1962, and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Tina Wiles, Eugene, Deena Wiles,  Jefferson City, and Zina Stanfield, Fort Worth, Texas ; three sisters, Joy Bushnell, Unionville, Sarah Bush, Hermosa, S.D., and Karen Sue; one brother, John Barton, state of Nevada; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Baptist Church. The Rev. Guy O. Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Houser-Millard Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

TAPPEL

Wilfred Tappel, 78, Koeltztown, died March 6, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Westphalia, a son of August and Cunningunda Bax Tappel. He was married May 8, 1944, in Argyle, to Zita Wieberg, who survives at the home.

He worked in management at Delong's for 38 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown.

Other survivors include: one son, Donald L. Tappel, Argyle; two daughters, Barbara J. Bahr,  Jefferson City, and Linda K. Pritzel, Koeltztown; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One grandson preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Msgr. Bernard Boessen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Masses or to Hospice House,  Jefferson City.
