KELLER

Emilie Keller, 78, California, died March 11, 2000, at Four Seasons Living Center, Sedalia.

She was born May 21, 1921, in Rixfeld, Germany, a daughter of Andreas and Marie Katharina Habermehl. She was married June 26, 1954, in California, to Elvin Keller, who died Dec. 12, 1998.

She was a cook in the Kansas City area for many years. She was a member of United Methodist Church, California.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home, California. The Rev. Carol Koenig, the Rev. Rose Ellen Hoff and the Rev. Ivan Dameron will officiate. Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery, near Clarksburg.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, 201 South Oak St., California, Mo. 65018.

HOLZBIERLEIN

Mable Naomi Barbour Holzbierlein, 96,  Jefferson City, died March 11, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 12, 1903, in Russellville, a daughter of Everett N. and Bertha May Smith Webb. She was married in 1921 to Dola J. Barbour, who died in 1963. She was married in 1966 to Herman Holzbierlein, who died in 1975.

A former Russellville resident, she worked at the Russellville Locker Plant for more than 15 years and she was a cook for the Russellville school.

She was a member of Russellville Baptist Church and a charter member of the Russellville Birthday Club.

Survivors include: one son, Forrest D. "Jack" Barbour,  Jefferson City; one stepdaughter Lola Mae Pittrich, Russellville; three grandchildren; six step grandchildren; eight great-grandchidren; 10 step great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.

One stepson, Clyde Holzbierlein, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Russellville. The Rev. Paul Young will officiate. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, near Russellville.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to Russellville Baptist Church.

LANSFORD

Gerald B. Lansford, 84, Linn, died March 11, 2000, at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1915, in Judge, a son of Virgil and Mary Ann Maples Lansford. He was married July 4, 1940, in Linn, to Wilma Rustemeyer, who survives at the home.

He attended Victor School, near Judge. A lifelong resident of Osage County, he co-owned and co-operated a dairy farm near Linn for 27 years. He also worked for the city of Linn and Rural Water District 3.

He was a member of St. George Church, Linn, and Catholic Knights of America. He was a 4th Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus.

He was a member of Osage County Democrat Club and was a past member of the board of directors of Mid-America Bank. He served on the board of Linn Senior Housing and was presiding judge in Osage County for 12 years.

Other survivors include: one son, John Lansford, Higginsville; five daughters, Mary Catherine Schaefer, St. Louis, Margaret Ann Scheulen, Linn, Jean Gruetzemacher, Springfield, and Marlene Kuster and Marcia Heberle, both of  Jefferson City; three sisters, Ruby Branson, Judge, Oma Huot, Linn, and Dorothy Nolte,  Jefferson City; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

One son, James Gerald Lansford, died in 1948.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. George Church. The Rev. Paul Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in St. George Cemetery, Linn.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. George Activity Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.

ROWDEN

Otis Rowden, 72, Iberia, died March 12, 2000, at his home.

He was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Dixon, a son of Ray E. and Edna M. Helton Rowden. He was married Jan. 19, 1951, in Iberia, to Edith Moore, who survives at the home.

He was a mail clerk for the dental clinic at Fort Leonard Wood. He was a member of Iberia Church of the Nazarene.

Other survivors include: two sons, Vic Rowden, Republic, and Danny Rowden, Iberia; one daughter, Janell Keeth, Iberia; one sister, Marjorie Robertson, Brumley; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Iberia Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. John Bouldrey will officiate. Burial will be in Madden Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia.

Memorials are suggested to Iberia Church of the Nazarene.

SCRIVNER

Ruth Marie Scrivner, 73, Eldon, died March 11, 2000, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach.

She was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of Frank and Jane Burks Schlesinger. She was married June 15, 1947, in Eldon, to James Leland Scrivner, who survives at the home.

She was employed at Cargil, California, for 18 years, and worked for Sola Optical, Eldon, for 10 years until her retirement. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and attended Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon.

She was a member of VFW Post 2442 Ladies Auxiliary, Eldon.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Marylin Whittle, Carolin Braden and Bonnie Rasa, all of Eldon, and Connie Brimer, Versailles; one son, James Wayne Scrivner, Springfield; two sisters, Leana Farley, Modesto, Calif., and Rose Jackson, Eldon; two brothers, Leber "Bill" Schlesinger, Tucson, Ariz., and Carl Schlesinger, Tuscumbia; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

One grandchild and two great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Bob Aldrich and the Rev. Jerry Frye will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.

SCHMIDT

Lois Jean Schmidt, 72, Eldon, died March 11, 2000, at her home.

She was born June 2, 1927, in Springfield, Minn., a daughter of William G. and Leona Uren Balbach. She was married Sept. 14, 1947, in Springfield, Minn., to Richard M. Schmidt, who died July 8, 1976.

She became a licensed practical nurse in 1974 and worked as an LPN at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Two Harbors, Minn., before retiring in 1980. She moved from Two Harbors to Eldon in 1986. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Harvey and JoAnn Hanley, both of Eldon; one brother, William Balbach Jr., Springfield, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

The remains were cremated. Private services will be held later in Minnesota.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Two Harbors VFW Post 4454 Women's Auxiliary.

GENSERT

Anna Mary Gensert, 97, Eldon, died March 13, 2000, at Miller County Care Center.

She was born Dec. 4, 1902, in Loose Creek, a daughter of Christopher and Mary Wegman Fassbinder. She was married in 1922, in Chicago, to Julius R. "Jid" Gensert, who died May 3, 1977.

She was a cook on the riverboat "Richard Roe" on the Missouri River in 1928. She owned and operated the Eldon Motel for more than 50 years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eldon, the Sacred Heart Altar Society, VFW Post 2442 Ladies Auxiliary and the Club 8 Card Club.

Survivors include: one son, Gene W. Gensert, Mexico; one daughter, Betty Gayle McCubbin, Lake Ozark; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

One son, Jerry Gensert, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James O'Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in Eldon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Lake Ozark Area Hospice or the American Heart Association.

KEETH

Olie Keeth, 87, Iberia, died March 13, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.

He was born March 5, 1913, in Miller County, a son of Simon P. and Nancy Ellen Whittle Keeth. He was married April 22, 1946, in Phelps County, to Leona Osborn, who survives in St. Elizabeth.

An Army veteran, he was a maintenance worker for the Post Exchange, Fort Leonard Wood. He was a member of Iberia Church of Christ and Iberia American Legion.

Other survivors include: two sons, Johnny Keeth and Earl Whittle, both of Iberia; one daughter, Nancy Baker, Iberia; one brother, Connie Keeth, Yakima, Wash.; one sister, Gertrude Robinson, Lake Ozark; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Rev. Lee Todd will officiate. Burial, with military honors, will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Care Center.

LARRICK

Maxine A. Larrick, 89,  Jefferson City, died March 12, 2000, in  Jefferson City.

She was born Sept. 8, 1910, in Burr Oak, Iowa, a daughter of Luther and Nellie Mae Feltis Pierce. She was married in 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa, to James J. Netahla, who died May 25, 1953. She was married to Homer Larrick, who died in 1972.

She attended school in Mason City, Iowa. During World War II, she worked in the defense plants in Kansas City. She later owned and operated the Country Kitchen in Rocky Ford, Colo. She lived in the  Jefferson City area since 1986.

Survivors include: two daughters, Martha Lee Donohoe, Topeka, Kan., and Natalie Mott,  Jefferson City; two sisters, LaVaughn Lichty and Jessie Mae Michalek, both of Mason City, Iowa; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at City Cemetery, Edgerton, Kan.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
